    Hello, I have added auhlogic in my Rails app to authenticate users. I have also included the code from the Reset password tutorial . All of it works, the only issue I have is that once a user registers he gets automatically logged in. Anyone worked with authlogic, what would be the best & fastest way to disable the autologin after the registration?

    I have a legacy rails (version 1.2.3) app which runs without issue on a number of servers (not to mention my local environment). Deployed to its newest server, though, and I now get ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid: Mysql::Error: #23000Column 'video_id' cannot be null errors.     Hi Everyone, I have a date_select field in my rails application as follows: <%= f.date_select :dateinstructed %> I would like to re-order the drop down lists show they output as: DD/MM/YYYY According to what I have read you can use the :order option, but I am unsure how to actually use this option: <%= f.date_select :dateinstructed, :order = {:day, :month, :year} %> Obviously this isn't right, but what am I supposed to put in place of the: :day, :month, :year Any help would be appreciated! A small portion of my images are not being served from the asset host because they are displayed using the CSS background-image property rather than image_tag Is there are clean workaround for this? I am using rails atom builder to create a valid atom feed, but when I use xml.tag!("activity:object-type", "http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/person") the atom feed goes blank.On seeing the source I find the correct xml format from what I have found out the ":object" is giving the problem.

Now my problem with it. When using Postgres as the database, it does not setup foreign keys. I would like the benefits of foreign keys in my schema such as referential integrity. So how do I apply foreign keys with Migrations?

    Hi, I having a hard time to consume this webservice https://www.arello.com/webservice/verify.cfc?wsdl in my rails application. I successfully generated the ruby files with the wsdl2ruby.rb but when un run the generated script I get the following error: at depth 0 - 20: unable to get local issuer certificate OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError: SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed I also tried to connect via this script but same issue require 'http-access2' client = HTTPAccess2::Client.new() client.ssl_config.set_trust_ca('/arello.cert') puts client.get('https://www.arello.com/webservice/verify.cfc?wsdl').content Any ideas?     Is there an easy way to see the actual SQL generated by a rails migration? I have a situation where a migration to change a column type worked on my local development machine by partially failed on the production server. My postgreSQL versions are different between local and production (7 on production, 8 on local) so I'm hoping by looking at the SQL generated on the successful migration locally I can work out a SQL statement to run on production to fix things....

  • Rails: find by day of week with timestamp

    I need to grab the records for same day of the week for the preceeding X days of the week. There must be a better way to do it than this: Transaction.find_by_sql "select * from transactions where EXTRACT(DOW from date) = 1 and organisation_id = 4 order by date desc limit 7" It gets me what I need but is Postgres specific and not very "Rails-y". Date is a timestamp. Anyone got suggestions?
