  I am new to this. Here is the situation and wondering if someone can suggest best solution to it. I have domain "www.mydomain.com" where I have magento website running, we are in development stage so I did URL forwarding "www.mydomain.com" to "www.mydomain.net" and we have under-construction page on "www.mydomain.net'. Because we do not want to show development. I also have subdomain "beta.mydomain.com" which I pointed to "www.mydomain.com/index.php" which works fine. But how can I show this without changing URL in browser from "beta.mydomain.com" to "www.mydomain.com/index.php" this we want to show our development to management.

  Previously, I struggle with the sequential impulse-based method I developed. Thanks to jedediah referring me to this paper, I managed to rebuild the codes and implement the simultaneous impulse based method with Projected-Gauss-Seidel (PGS) iterative solver as described by Erin Catto (mentioned in the reference of the paper as [Catt05]). So here's how it currently is: The simulation handles 2-dimensional rotating convex polygons. Detection is using separating-axis test, with a SKIN, meaning closest points between two polygons is detected and determined if their distance is less than SKIN. To resolve collision, simultaneous impulse-based method is used. It is solved using iterative solver (PGS-solver) as in Erin Catto's paper. Error-correction is implemented using Baumgarte's stabilization (you can refer to either paper for this) using J V = beta/dt*overlap, J is the Jacobian for the constraints, V the matrix containing the velocities of the bodies, beta an error-correction parameter that is better be < 1, dt the time-step taken by the engine, and overlap, the overlap between the bodies (true overlap, so SKIN is ignored). However, it is still less stable than I expected :s I tried to stack hexagons (or squares, doesn't really matter), and even with only 4 to 5 of them, they hardly stand still! Also note that I am not looking for a sleeping scheme. But I would settle if you have any explicit scheme to handle resting contacts. That said, I would be more than happy if you have a way of treating it generally (as continuous collision, instead of explicitly as a special state). Ideas I have: I would try adding a damping term (proportional to velocity) to the Baumgarte. Is this a good idea in general? If not I would not want to waste my time trying to tune the parameter hoping it magically works. Ideas I have tried: Using simultaneous position based error correction as described in the paper in section 5.3.2, turned out to be worse than the current scheme. If you want to know the parameters I used: Hexagons, side 50 (pixels) gravity 2400 (pixels/sec^2) time-step 1/60 (sec) beta 0.1 restitution 0 to 0.2 coeff. of friction 0.2 PGS iteration 10 initial separation 10 (pixels) mass 1 (unit is irrelevant for now, i modified velocity directly<-impulse method) inertia 1/1000 Thanks in advance!   I'm trying to run split testing on some landing pages I "designed" with Unbounce, but it requires that I set the CNAME record for my domain/sub-domain and I'm having trouble figuring out what is the right way to do it. My host is arvixe (www.arvixe.com) and their customer support has failed to help me for the past 5 days (I spoke to them multiple times). I followed the directions for setting the CNAME record and I was able to set the CNAME record, but I'm consistently unable to verify that the CNAME record is set up correctly. I followed the instructions on Unbounce to verify the CNAME record for my sub-domain (beta.devboost.com) and here are the results: No records found reverse lookup smtp diag port scan blacklist Reported by ns1.SNARE.arvixe.com on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 5:49:57 PM (GMT-6) Here is my DNS zone record from the control panel of my host (last record, CNAME unbouncepages.com): Is there something wrong with my DNS Zone Record?   How to connect to a computer that is in Sleep mode over the internet? I am using LogMeIn to connect to another computer offsite. I just installed Windows 7 RC on that system and found that the Sleep mode actually works. Currently LogMeIn does not connect when the system is in Sleep mode or Hibernate mode (that is what their error message displays when you try). Is there a way to get LogMeIn to connect to a system in Sleep mode? Is there other software that gives simliar LogMeIn functionallity (like RDP, etc.) that could be used on Windows 7 instead. I just use LMI for connecting and nothing else (no printing or file transfers). A Non-expensive options (such as free) would be better. I have seen web sites mentioning "Wake on LAN". Does anyone have some good links on how to set this up to be accessed over the internet? • Apache directory authorization bug (clicking cancel gives acces to partial content)

  I got a minor problem (as the site is not high priority) but still a very interesting one. I have an apache root domain wherein other sites live "/var/www/" And I have foo.example.com forwarding to "/var/www/foo-example" (wordpress site) The problem here is that when you go to foo.example.com you are prompted to enter credentials. If you hit cancel it gives you the access denied page. But when you go to the servers' direct IP (this gives you the default index page) and hit cancel when prompted for credentials it just keeps giving you the login screen, and after pressing cancel a few times more it gives (a perhaps cached) bare html part of the page. How do I prevent this from happening? Perhaps this is a bug... Even if I would block access to the root directory when going to the ip/foo-example it would still do this. And I want to keep all the directories within the www directory or at least all in the same.   I have server "Alpha" and server "Beta". Server Beta has a shared folder, that is mapped on server Alpha as "X:" On server Alpha there is a .vbs script that runs and take some files on local drive and copy them on X: drive. My issue is if no user log on server Alpha for a long time, it seems like the tcp connection underneath the mapped drive has a timeout, and the vbs script fails on the copy of file. As soon I log with remote desktop on Alpha server, the .vbs is successfull on the copy of the files. I have made many tests, using file logs to check what was happening and I found no way to refresh the connection and let the .vbs be able to copy files unattended.. I have always to log with remote desktop on Alpha server to refresh the connection and let the .vbs copy the files without issues. What can I do to avoid to log every time? The .vbs script runs 3 times a day and is very annoying. I do not have control over server Beta so I cannot change anything there, and I am very limited on changes I can do on server Alpha ( I cannot change registry and that sort of things)

• Git subtree not properly using .gitignore when doing a partial clone

  I am a graduate student with many scripts, bibliography data in bibtex, thesis draft in latex, presentations in open office, posters in scribus, and figures and result data. I would like to put everything in one project under version control. Then when I need to work on a portion such as the bibliography data, I would like to check that subdirectory out, modify it as necessary and merge it back.I would like the ability to check out one version to my home computer, and a different one to my work computer and make changes to each independently and eventually merge them back. I would also like to be able to check out a piece of code from this big project and import it with versioning into a separate project. If I may changes I'd like to be able to merge them back to the original project. • how to use appcfg.py for google-app-engine projects created using google's eclipse plugin?

  I have created a google-app-engine java project in Eclipse using Google's Eclipse plugin. My previous attempt to deploy failed. Now, when I retry, I get the following message: Unable to update app: Error posting to URL : http://appengine.google.com/api/appversion/create?app_id=mybdaywisherversion=1 409 conflict Another transaction for this user is already in progress for this app and major version. That user can undo the transaction with appcfg.py's "rollback" command. Now, I have always used the google-app-engine features from inside Eclipse only and have not a clue how to run the appcfg.py command. Could not get much help from documentation available over the internet. The only thing I could make out was for mac (I'm on mac), the command to be used is appcfg.sh. Inside Eclipse, I looked where App-Engine SDK is located on my machine and went to that location. Even found appcfg.sh there. But when I try to run it, it only reports the error "command not found". Tried various alternatives to run it (like tried running it with sudo, tried running it as ./appcfg.sh by going to whether its located) but no success Can someone please tell me the step I will have to follow to run the apcfg command?

  Is there a way to improve emacs tramp performance? For me it's faster to open an external ftp client (filezilla), transfer files to the local disk and open them in an external editor (notepad) than open them with emacs. I use emacs23.1 under windows xp. I tried different tramp-default-method (telnet, pscp, ftp), all of them have the same performance.
