• The href value of the Html anchor tag is rendering weird

  I want to assign dynamically the href value depending of certain things, I thing is important to mention that I have a Master Page, url routing and I am assigning absolute paths (like http://www.stackoverflow.com/questions/...). I've tried the following: <a href="<%= DynamicURL%>">testing urls</a> <asp:HyperLink runat="server" ID="hpLink">this teset brouw</asp:HyperLink> and in code behind hpLink.NavigateUrl = "http://www.someurl.com/morepath/morethisngs"; I have also tried this <a runat="server" id="aAccesories">Testing ...</a> and in code behind I do this: aAccesorios.HRef = "http://www.someurl.com/morepath/morethisngs"; what ever I try when I see the html source code the links render like this: http://localhost:10027/projectTest/\www.someurl.com/morepath/morethisngs so I cant create absolute paths or absolute URLS, doesnt matter what I tried, this is weird isnt it? i adds the domain to the urls and then it removes the http:// then it adds the path I wanted hope you can help me, thanks!

• Adding images to the html with javascript

  I've tried some HTML DOM code from several sites, but it isn't working. It isn't adding anything. Does anyone have a working example on this? this.img = document.createElement("img"); this.img.src = "img/eqp/"+this.apparel+"/"+this.facing+"_idle.png"; src = getElementById("gamediv"); src.appendChild(this.img) But it isn't adding anything to the div. (gamediv) I've tried document.body as well, with no result. Thanks in advance.

• Display indented XML code within a HTML page

  I have a programmatically created HTML document on which I would like to show some XML-code, fully formatted with line breaks and tabulators. That is, it should look like if you drag an xml file without a xml-stylesheet directly onto your browser (most browsers do some kind of xml-rendering with some default style sheet). Now, I can of course escape all the characters (like <>, tab and newline) and do the indenting myself (using css styles, for example), but I was wondering whether I couldn't re-use some 'default' xml-stylesheet from somewhere. Preferrably also one that has some javascript node-folding, too. Do you know such a stylesheet/xslt? Or would you suggest another way to achieve this? I'm using C#. PS: I tried to use the XmlNotepad.DefaultSS.xslt from Microsoft's XmlNotepad, but I couldn't really get that working. :T

How can I detect if 2 elements (html fragments) have the same structure simply with lxml? Now we have one new features with asp.net 4.0 that we have HTML Encoded Expressions and this prevent Cross scripting attack as we are html encoding them. ASP.NET 4.0 introduces a new expression syntax <%: expression %> which automatically convert string into html encoded. Let’s take an example for that. I have just created an hello word protected method which will return a simple string which contains characters that needed to be HTML Encoded.   Hi, I have a regular, nested HTML unordered list of links, and I'd like to scrape it with PHP and convert it to an array.   I have an XML file that contains a message with html tags in it. The XML file is read by a java class that mails it to people. When the mail is received, the accents do not show. For example é doesn't show. I have tried &eacute; in the xml but it gives an error in eclipse saying that the entity has not been declared. I also tried simply inserting &#233; but that shows nothing in the final output. The 3rd thing I tried was using <![CDATA[é]]> but that broke the parser since it didn't output anything after it. However I noticed something weird. When i put something like this in the xml and added UTF-16 encoding <message>text bla bla blaa é&lt; it did ouput the é at the end like this bla bla blaa blaa é. EDIT <message>text bla bla blaa éé&lt; outputs ?é or just one é The file looks something like this: <?xml version="1.0"? encoding="UTF-16"> <message> &lt;b&gt;hello é &lt;/b&gt; </message> </xml> What gives?

  I have a (hidden) html select object in my menu attached to a menu button link, so that clicking the link shows the list so you can pick from it. When you click the button, it calls some javascript to show the <select>. Clicking away from the <select> hides the list. What I really want is to make the <select> appear fully expanded, as if you had clicked on the "down" arrow, but I can't get this working. I've tried lots of different approaches, but can't make any headway. Does anyone have any suggestions?

• GWT Html Layout Conventions

  I've just started working with GWT and I'm already recognizing the extraordinary power that it possesses. I'm coming from a frontend world so the Java is a big learning curve, but I think that will actually help me build a properly laid out app (html-wise) instead of just relying on the default GWT panels that often end up using tables for layout, or superfluous, absolutely positioned divs. The biggest thing slowing me down right now however is deciding how to properly lay out the design of my site. I've got a pretty standard 2-col header/foot site (fixed width) that I want to design, but I'm not a fan of all the extra divs/styling etc that come with the DockLayoutPanel for instance. I'm thinking that I should just write my own Layout widget extending Composite that has HTMLPanels for the general site layout (I think... still haven't fully figured that out yet, ie. how do I add ID's to these panel divs "#header", "#nav" etc...) then I can add other widgets into this layout But the other thing I'm seeing is that I could write a Layout class extending UiBuilder and have straight up divs in the ui.xml file. I'm just wondering, what is the preferred method for site layout with GWT? This isn't going to be re-used in the sense of other widgets, it will be used once and my controls etc will be placed inside. Any tips or tricks are greatly appreciated! And if I've completely missed the boat on how to do this, let me know

Don't want to adjust the width as I've a :hover background color changing effet on the links. I suppose margin or padding should do the trick but I can't manage to find how. Any clue? Each has 5 rows: 1st Table 1st row has FRUITS in it, occupying all columns 2nd row has January(month), occupying all columns 3rd row has names of some 6 fruits (apple, orange, grapes,...)These names do not change. so this row has 6 columns 4th row has rates for each fruit ( 10,20,30..) so this has 6 columns. 5th row has corresponding message for each fruit showing as Available or not. 2nd Table If it is available the background color for the cell should be green and if not RED. 1st row has VEGETABLES in it, occupying all columns 2nd row has February(month), occupying all columns 3rd row has names of some 6 vegetables (tomato, potato..)These names do not change. so this row has 6 columns 4th row has rates for each vegetable ( 10,20,30..) so this has 6 columns. 5th row has corresponding message for each vegetable showing as Available or not.If it is available the background color for the cell should be green and if not RED. All this data is read from a file having a particular format, it is <name of fruit/vegetable price <available or not The names of fruits and vegetable do not change , it will be same for both the tables. However, it might be possible that data for a particular fruit/vegetable is not present. if it is not present the the column for that should show N/A with white background. I cannot use MIME:Lite for this. Need to use print <<ENDHTML;

• Extracting email addresses in an html block in ruby/rails

  I am creating a parser that wards off against spamming and harvesting of emails from a block of text that comes from tinyMCE (so it may or may not have html tags in it) I've tried regexes and so far this has been successful: /\b[A-Z0-9._%+-]+@[A-Z0-9.-]+\.[A-Z]{2,4}\b/i problem is, i need to ignore all email addresses with mailto hrefs. for example: <a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a> should only return the second email add. To get a background of what im doing, im reversing the email addresses in a block so the above example would look like this: <a href="mailto:[email protected]">moc.liam@tset</a> problem with my current regex is that it also replaces the one in href. Is there a way for me to do this with a single regex? Or do i have to check for one then the other? Is there a way for me to do this just by using gsub or do I have to use some nokogiri/hpricot magicks and whatnot to parse the mailtos? Thanks in advance! • C# HTML tags inside GridView

  I have a SharePoint web part that I wrote in C# which is used to display SQL Server data based on user selections. I pull the data with a DataReader, fill a DataSet with it, and set that DataSet as the DataSource in a GridView and add that control to my page. The only problem I'm facing is that line breaks in the data fields are not being rendered at all. I'm simply getting a block of text that ignores the breaks that are present in the database when it's rendered to HTML. I tried a regex: Regex rgx = new Regex("\n"); string inputStr = Convert.ToString(dr[x]); string outputStr = rgx.Replace(inputStr, "<br />"); newRow[ds3.Tables["Bobst Specs 3"].Columns[x]] = outputStr; While that does detect and replace the newlines, I merely get the text "" with no line breaks. I also tried changing my SQL query to something along the lines of: SELECT REPLACE (fldCustomerName, '. ', '.' + @NewLineChar) This apparently renders more newlines. I can see that they are present, because if I also insert the regex they are affected, but do not create line breaks. I'm not sure how to replace these, and what with, to get the lines to actually break.
