  This is the 1st time I'm dealing with server. May I know what does it mean by "Exchange Server 2010 does not include WebDAV"? Does this mean that EWS does not use HTTPWebRequest and HTTPWebResponse anymore or does not communicates by using the same ports that HTTP and HTTPS? Is it some setting done at the server side that disable the use of WebDav? When it said does not include WebDAV, what does it actually mean? If i really want to use WebDav in Exchange Server 2010, is it possible? Yes, EWS is way better compared to WebDav but what if I wish to use WebDav.

• Vim - How Recognize Spaces as Tabs (set listchars=tab)

  I wonder if it is possible to use a configuration for that command "set listchars=tab:¦¦,trail:·" to "see" 4 spaces as tabs and get the effect of the picture below (using real tabs)... I use the setting "set expandtab" to Vim use spaces in place of tabs. I really need to use spaces instead of tabs, but I would keep the functionality above. There is some form of do this? Here's how Vim behaves when I use "set expandtab"... ... I wish he recognized one tab for every 4 spaces like above!   I've got a domain registered with a hosting company who I no longer wish to use. I'm happy for them to keep managing my domain, but I want my domain to point to my new (better) server which i've just bought and set up. I know my new server's IP address and Nameservers, What do I need to do in my domain management control panel to make it point to my new server? Change the "A" record to the new IP? Change the nameservers to my new hosts nameservers? Is that it? Are there no other record on either server which need changing?   I just started using the file search program Everything at work to search through documentation on our shared drives. This is after disappointments with Google Desktop and Windows Search. I love the speed of Everything, but I wish it were able to index other shared folders. My makeshift solution was to somehow force Windows to recognize the necessary shared folders as local drives, then add them to the index list. I have also considered using SyncToy, but this requires downloading all data to my drive, which could be terabytes of information - obviously not a good idea on a small company network. What would be the best solution here?

I want generic right click on explorer, on which, search gives me this registry to edit: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\cygwin] @="c:\\cygwin\\bin\\bash.exe --login -i -c \"cd '%1'; bash\"" My problem lies with the value of the key, which doesnt work on %1 but on some static value like /cygdrive/c Could someone please tell me the proper way to pass current directory to the command, also please refer me some basic and advanced pages for same.   I'm a PC tech and I have been getting more and more Windows 8 issues. First off I hate metro, and secondly I hate "apps". I like to do fresh installs of Windows8. I backup my user's data and then fresh install. Assuming there is no recovery partition how can I manually backup the user's app data so that in the event of a reformat I simply redownload their apps (dumb, I wish there was a way to actually back them up too) and plop the data back in. Do most normal people even use "apps", or do they use Windows8 like a desktop OS? I totally dropped metro with ClassicShell.

  The CPU fan in my laptop is running too fast. I wish to control the speed manually to my preference, at times. • How Can I Edit Google Chrome's 'History Provider Cache' File?

  I'm interested in editing (not completely deleting) contents of some of Google Chrome's cache files. In particular, the 'History Provider Cache' (found in ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default on Mac). As this other question suggests, it appears to simply be a SQLite file. Unfortunately, when I try to open it using a SQLite browser (MesaSQLite) I'm asked for an encryption key. So, I'd welcome any suggestions on how to either (1) determine the encryption key, or (2) an alternate way to edit this file. The end goal is to be able to remove specific annoying suggestions in the Omnibar. I've read countless other techniques, but none seem to remove suggestions that have the clock icon next to it. Some say deleting this file entirely will do the trick (and I imagine it will), but I don't wish to trash my entire browsing history. I find most of the suggestions to be useful and helpful, and I'd like to preserve that.

  I am trying to get samba working with groups. I am using CentOS. #sswords = yes lanman auth = no null passwords = no hosts allow = 129.130.155. netbios name = a server server string = base PHP server [team$] path= /var/www writable = yes valid users = @team force group = @team I have created a few users in linux, and added them to a group called team using groupadd -a -g username. I the attempted to login and got a NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_GROUP. If I comment out the two last lines in the config it works, but I wish to have group ownership and prefer just to be able to add users to a group in Linux and for it to work with the samba.

  Tracking events and setting up Analytics for Websites seems easy. You create an account with one of the Analytics service providers like Google. They give you javascript code that you embed in your pages (whichever event you wish to track) and voila..you're done. I have written a native application for Android phones, which is actually an adaptation of the actual web site. Now, I am required to setup Analytics and tracking for this native application. Question: How to do this on Mobile phones from within a native application? We have Java Script code that works for the original web site. Is there a way to incorporate that in the native application? I know Android supports Java Script via WebViews(Webkit);my application does not have webviews and it is native. Also, I have not worked on JavaScript since school so excuse me if I sound naive. Thanks.

• How do you delete an iFolder from iFolder admin interface

  There are only two buttons at the bottom of the screen "enable" and "disable". When I check the box next to an iFolder one of them is lit (depending on what the state of the folder is)... but there is no button to delete the folder (as it seems there should be from the documentation). There is a delete button in the "orphaned" tab but how do you "orphan" an iFolder? I'm logged in to the admin interface as admin, who is currently the owner of the folder I wish to delete.

As you can see, the router is doing job of DHCP, DNS. but now I wish to add a Linux server between R1 and S1, So I can monitor the network traffic and do other more advance server admin stuff. the whole office network is 192.168.1.x and people are using their computer everyday. What network configuration should the new Linux server have (both interfaces) in order to minimize the changes need in the network? tried to change R1 ip to 192.168.100.1 them add the server with FE0/0 192.168.100.1 and FE0/1 192.168.1.1 but looks cannot ping the original Router..

  I launch Minecraft.exe which invokes Javaw.exe. I wish for Javaw.exe to be running in High priority because Minecraft lags if not. I tried invoking Minecraft.exe with a high priority by doing this: Start "Minecraft" /high "C:\Users\Barrie\Documents\Program Files\Minecraft\Minecraft.exe" This would work if it wasn't for Minecraft loading Javaw.exe. I would love a simple solution - perhaps a command I can put into the batch script - which will change the priority of Javaw.exe after it loads. Edit: I'd like to thank everyone for their response to my issue. I fixed this by executing Minecraft.exe with a batch script then calling an AHK script to change the priority of Javaw.exe.

• Port forwarding with DNAT and SNAT without touching other packets

  I have a Linux gateway with iptables which does routing and port forwarding. I want the port forwarding to happen independent of the routing. To port forward, I add this to the nat table: iptables -t nat -A "$PRE" -p tcp -d $GW --dport $fromPort -j DNAT --to-destination $toHost:$toPort iptables -t nat -A "$POST" -p tcp -d $toHost --dport $toPort -j SNAT --to $SRC $PRE and POST are actually destination-specific chains that I jump to from the PREROUTING and POSTROUTING chains respectively so I can keep the iptables clean. $SRC is the IP address I'm SNATing to which is different from the gateway IP $GW. The problem with this setup is that regular routed packets that were not DNATed but happen to go to the same $toHost:$toPort combo will also be SNATed. I wish to avoid this. Any clever things I can do?

• Batch converting video from avc1 to xvid

  I need a way to batch convert 720p video files from avc1 to xvid in Ubuntu 10.04. I'm not terribly concerned about file size, but I do wish to retain the picture quality as much as possible. I believe the audio is encoded as aac, which is fine for my purposes. What would be the best and easiest way to do this? I've tried using Handbrake. During my first attempt, I had it using ffmpeg to convert to MPEG-4, but that just gave me a super-low quality video at twice the file size. Trying h.264 now, so we'll see how that works out. But just in case it doesn't pan out so well, what other ways do you recommend? I was thinking I'd write a bash script to reencode the files one by one, but the problem is that I have very little knowledge about codecs and containers and whatnot - so I wouldn't know what parameters I would pass ffmpeg/mencoder.

• Windows Server 2003 stops sharing a folder when the server reboots [closed]

  I have a file server that will stop sharing a particular folder once the server is rebooted. This problem happened after the server went through a p2v migration. There are no events that seem to correlate to this issue. I was reading http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/870964 but I don't think this applies and there are other shares on the same drive that are still there after a reboot. To be clear about the issue; When the server reboots share x is no longer shared any more but share y and z are still there. This has nothing to do with users not being able to see the share. On the server its self the folder that was shared is no longer shared. I wish I had more information to post but after hours on this issue I can't find a way to move forward.

  I have been trying to find the necessary command line switches for automating the upgrade for my Windows 8 clients to Windows 8.1. I have the ISO extracted and I've run setup.exe /? but that doesn't tell me enough. I can't find any relevant information from search engines. Can anyone point me to some documentation or information on how to automate the upgrade so that it keeps user data, programs, etc? I know how to do it when running the installer manually, but I obviously do not wish to do that with 100+ machines.

• Is it possible to spoof the From: field in Outlook?

  I am wondering if it is possible to change the From: field (not just the reply-to) in Outlook (specifically in the 2010 beta, but also interested in other versions). I am just moving over from Linux and am used to being able to do this quite simply in some clients. At first I thought it was the option of "Other E-Mail address" on the From drop down menu in a compose window, but that seems to do... nothing! I want to be able to do this so I can have email look like it comes from a domain I own but do not wish to run an SMTP server on.

• Drupal + GMap macro, map markers not displayed

  Hi. I've run into a strange problem in the GMap module for Drupal. When I display a map inside a node using a GMap macro, everything is displayed correctly (according to what I specify in the macro or leave at default), save for map markers. I'm trying to specify a map marker, but it refuses to be displayed. My macro is the following: [gmap zoom=17 |center=53.77420697757659,20.474138259887695 |markers=big blue::53.77420697757659,20.474138259887695] I was unable to find any help on Drupal forums, both the official one and one local to my country. • How to make TortoiseHg pull certain branch only?

  I have cloned the default branch of a big repository and now I wish to pull from the server using the TortoiseHg client. However, TortoiseHg proposes to pull from all the branches. Is it possible to instruct it to pull from the current branch only? So far I have seen suggestions to: Setup a hook on the client side to reject pulls from unwanted branches Check incoming revisions in TortoiseHg and only pull the ones belonging to the current branch Use the Mercurial ACL extension to deny access to all the branches, but the current one. I dislike all of these solutions, since all of them are client based. In all of them TortoiseHg actually pulls all of the branches (even in the second, where the pulled revisions are arranged into a bundle presented in the incoming revisions view) Is there an hg pull -b BRANCH equivalent in TortoiseHg? Thanks. EDIT I know how to do all of this using the Mercurial command line client - hg.exe. This question is specifically about the TortoiseHg GUI client.

• New Secure Website with Apache Reverse Proxy

  I wish to set up a new website that will be accessed by users using HTTPS. I think it is good practise to put the "real" web server in a seperate subnet, and then install an Apache Reverse Proxy in a DMZ. My question is, where should I put the SSL cert(s)? Should I a) Use a self-signed cert on the "real" web server, and a proper cert on the reverse proxy? b) Use 2 real certs on both the "real" web server and the reverse proxy? c) Don't use any cert on the "real" web server, and use a proper cert on the reverse proxy? I'd like to use a) or c), if possible. I also don't want anyone's browser complaining of a self-signed cert. Thanks

• EXEC() syntax error using ODBC

  I have written a little ETL application that I wish to run a few lines of TSQL from. If i enter a simple query like "SELECT * FROM MyTable" everything is fine. All single line commands run as expected. A multiline query like this is also fine: DECLARE @TableName NVARCHAR(MAX) set @TableName = 'MyTable' EXECute ( 'DROP TABLE '+ @TableName ) Howevery when I try and run: DECLARE @TableName NVARCHAR(MAX) OPEN Tables FETCH NEXT FROM Tables INTO @TableName WHILE @@FETCH_STATUS = 0 BEGIN EXEC( 'DROP TABLE ' + @TableName ) FETCH NEXT FROM Tables INTO @TableName END I get a syntax error after TABLE in the EXEC() call. I have spent 6 hours trying to figure this out thinking perhaps I need to escape the single quote or something. I just cannot see the problem. A set of fresh eyes would be appreciated.

• On apache how do I allow access to only to a single file?

  I have a apache machine which is serving a .js file. That file should be the only file that need to seen. I have configured to do so in my apache like this : <Location /var/www/test/test.js> Order allow,deny Allow from all </Location> The site address is test.in which points to test.js file in /var/www/test directory. That is working fine. But I wish when the user tries to hit test.in/someurl (which is not available) or some other url than test.in need to give an message with 401 error. How do I do that?
