• css table column width not set

  Hello, I'm trying to set the width of table column to a minimum value. The header row (th) was set white-space:nowrap to prevent wrapping. Now all the columns (including td rows) set to a width that of th. I tried to expand the size of smaller columns by setting it in the html as <th style="width:200px;"> and <td style="width:200px;">, but it has no effect. In firebug, in the style section, the width setting is active element.style { width:200px; } Still, the computed tab shows the width is less than 200px. • What pseudo-operators exist in Perl 5?

  I am currently documenting all of Perl 5's operators (see the perlopref GitHub project) and I have decided to include Perl 5's pseudo-operators as well. To me, a pseudo-operator in Perl is anything that looks like an operator, but is really more than one operator or a some other piece of syntax. I have documented the four I am familiar with already: ()= the countof operator =()= the goatse/countof operator ~~ the scalar context operator }{ the Eskimo-kiss operator What other names exist for these pseudo-operators, and do you know of any pseudo-operators I have missed? =head1 Pseudo-operators There are idioms in Perl 5 that appear to be operators, but are really a combination of several operators or pieces of syntax. These pseudo-operators have the precedence of the constituent parts. =head2 ()= X =head3 Description This pseudo-operator is the list assignment operator (aka the countof operator). It is made up of two items C<()>, and C<=>. In scalar context it returns the number of items in the list X. In list context it returns an empty list. It is useful when you have something that returns a list and you want to know the number of items in that list and don't care about the list's contents. It is needed because the comma operator returns the last item in the sequence rather than the number of items in the sequence when it is placed in scalar context. It works because the assignment operator returns the number of items available to be assigned when its left hand side has list context. With the addition of the Smart match operator, this pseudo-operator is even more confusing. The C<scalar> function is much easier to understand and you are encouraged to use it instead. =head3 Example my @a = qw/a b c d/; print ~~@a, "\n"; #prints 4 =head3 See also L</~X>, L</X ~~ Y>, and L<perlfunc/scalar> =head2 X }{ Y =head3 Description This pseudo-operator is called the Eskimo-kiss operator because it looks like two faces touching noses. It is made up of an closing brace and an opening brace. It is used when using C<perl> as a command-line program with the C<-n> or C<-p> options. It has the effect of running X inside of the loop created by C<-n> or C<-p> and running Y at the end of the program. It works because the closing brace closes the loop created by C<-n> or C<-p> and the opening brace creates a new bare block that is closed by the loop's original ending. You can see this behavior by using the L<B::Deparse> module. Here is the command C<perl -ne 'print $_;'> deparsed: LINE: while (defined($_ = <ARGV>)) { print $_; } Notice how the original code was wrapped with the C<while> loop. Here is the deparsing of C<perl -ne '$count++ if /foo/; }{ print "$count\n"'>: LINE: while (defined($_ = <ARGV>)) { ++$count if /foo/; } { print "$count\n"; } Notice how the C<while> loop is closed by the closing brace we added and the opening brace starts a new bare block that is closed by the closing brace that was originally intended to close the C<while> loop. =head3 Example # count unique lines in the file FOO perl -nle '$seen{$_}++ }{ print "$_ => $seen{$_}" for keys %seen' FOO # sum all of the lines until the user types control-d perl -nle '$sum += $_ }{ print $sum' =head3 See also L<perlrun> and L<perlsyn> =cut

• Allow users to insert a TAB into a TextBox but not newlines

  I want to have a TextBox which does accept the TAB key (and places a TAB, ASCII 0x09, \t accordingly into the textbox) instead of jumping to the next control. The TextBox has a property AcceptsTab, which I have set to true but this does not give the desired result. It turns out the AcceptsTab property only works then Multiline is set to true as well. However I want to have a one-line TextBox which doesn't accept newlines.

• trouble resolving location in <xs:import > element in C#

  I'm using an XML schema document to validate incoming data documents, however the schema appears be failing during compilation at run time because it refers to a complex type which part of an external schema. The external schema is specified in a element at the top of the document. I had thought it might be an access problem, so I moved a copy of the external document to a localhost folder. I get the same error, so now I'm wondering if there might be some sort of issue with the use of the element. Then it fails with a type not declared error. The type that it's trying to find, KeyInfoType, is defined in one of the the documents in the import element. I've made sure the namespaces line up. I wondered if the # signs in the namespace definitions were causing a problem, but removing them had no effect, it just changed what the error looked like (i.e. "Type 'http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig:KeyInfoType' is not declared." versus "Type 'http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#:KeyInfoType' is not declared.") My suspicion is that there's something about the processing of the element that I'm missing. Any suggestions are very welcome. Thanks!

  Okay i'm new to asp mvc2 and i'm experiencing some problems with the htmlhelper called Html.dropdownlistfor(); I want to present the user a list of days in the week. And i want the selected item to be bound to my model. This errors gets thrown at the line in my view where i display the dropdown list. I really have no idea how to solve this and tried several solutions i found online. but none of them really worked. • Enabling tag libraries in jsp

  I feel like I am missing something - from what it seems, jsp comes out of the box with support for tags, as this question's answer shows (the guy was asking a pure-jsp question and got an answer involving tags). But if I try to run the given code <c:out value="${myString}"/> (with myString defined before, of course), the jsp just writes the above line into the html. Do I have to do something extra to enable it?

  Hi, I'm trying to create a breezebrowser template (used for generating image galleries locally, outputs HTML). I've taken the HTML from my wordpress template and managed to generate the following gallery http://uploads.peasyphotos.com/20100607t-candids/gallery/ but each image goes on a new line and i don't know why, i presume it's in the CSS. What should I be looking for in the CSS to try and stop this, or what can I put around my template code to disable the CSS for that part? Thanks

• Localize jQuery Date Picker using the Zend Framework

  I am trying to create a datepicker using a different locale than English. According to the jQuery manual I need to add the line: $("#datepicker").datepicker($.datepicker.regional['fr']); to $view->jquery()->addOnLoad(). The code is output and runs without any errors, but the month and day names are still in English. Is there some simpler option or what am I overlooking.
