  hi, we recenty had a programmer to develop a program for us but seems to have left us in the lurch with a part functioning application. my boss isnt happy at moment as we have spent a few hundred and have nothing to show for it at the moment. can anyone see any information in the crash log below as its gibberish to me. • Attach radeon driver to specific PCI devices?

  I have two Radeon cards in this machine, a 6570 and a 6950: lspci | grep VGA: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Turks [Radeon HD 6570] 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Cayman PRO [Radeon HD 6950] I'm trying to get VGA passthrough to work with KVM on Debian Wheezy, passing through the 6950 as a secondary video card to a Windows 7 guest. This works fine if I blacklist the radeon kernel module via /etc/modprobe.d/. • Crash: iPhone Threading with Blocks

  I have some convenience methods set up for threading with blocks (using PLBlocks). Then in the main portion of my code, I call the method -fetchArrivalsForLocationIDs:callback:errback:, which runs some web API calls in the background. Here's the problem: when I comment out the 2 NSAutoreleasePool-related lines in JTBlockThreading.m, of course I get lots of Object 0x6b31280 of class __NSArrayM autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking errors. However, if I uncomment them, the app frequently crashes on the [pool release]; line, sometimes saying malloc: *** error for object 0x6e3ae10: pointer being freed was not allocated" *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug. • Installing ImageMagick on Mac OSX 10.6

  I just got a new Mac and am trying to setup a local Perl development environment. I'm using MAMP but also need the ImageMagick perl module installed in order to do some of the photo processing our scripts require. I tried installing ImageMagick manually but ran into some issues and after reading online a lot of people reported having issues going this route. The general consensus was to install it using MacPorts instead so I went ahead and installed MacPorts. Unfortunately, MacPorts can't seem to install it successfully either. But why does it say 0.0.0.0? Is it passing through only one of the network adapters? I want 10.1.1.1 to be the server (receiver) and 10.1.1.2 to be the client (transmitter). These are the IP addresses assigned manually to each network adapter. How do I specify these addresses in TTCP? There is also the IPERF tool which has the -B option. Unfortunately I've been only able to use this option to bind the server to the 10.1.1.1 address. I was unable to bind the client to the 10.1.1.2 address. I might be doing it wrong. Can the -B option be used for both the server as well as the client side? What does the syntax look like for the client?

• Apache2 return 404 for proxy requests before reaching WSGI

  I have a Django app running under Apache2 and mod_wsgi and, unfortunately, lots of requests trying to use the server as a proxy. The server is responding OK with 404 errors but the errors are generated by the Django (WSGI) app, which causes a high CPU usage. If I turn off the app and let Apache handle the response directly (send a 404), the CPU usage drops to almost 0 (mod_proxy is not enabled). Is there a way to configure Apache to respond directly to this kind of requests with an error before the request hits the WSGI app? I have seen that maybe mod_security would be an option, but I'd like to know if I can do it without it. EDIT. I'll explain it a bit more. In the logs I have lots of connections trying to use the server as a web proxy (e.g. connections like GET http://zzz.zzz/ HTTP/1.1 where zzz.zzz is an external domain, not mine). This requests are passed on to mod_wsgi which then return a 404 (as per my Django app). If I disable the app, as mod_proxy is disabled, Apache returns the error directly. What I'd finally like to do is prevent Apache from passing the request to the WSGI for invalid domains, that is, if the request is a proxy request, directly return the error and not execute the WSGI app. EDIT2. • CentOS 6 - Make system aware of custom lib paths and missing base links

  I am trying to compile libmemcached (1.0.7) on CentOS6, and keep getting the following warning: ... checking for event.h... no configure: WARNING: Unable to find libevent ... I manually compiled libevent (2.0.19) and built it using the following configure line: OPTIONS="--prefix=/usr/local/_custom/app/libevent" Everything compiled and installed fine, but I couldn't figure out how to make the system aware that the lib files are in the custom /usr/local/_custom/app/libevent/libdir. I stumbled upon an article and read that I can make the system aware of custom lib paths by adding a custom file to /etc/ld.so.conf.d/ directory: # /etc/ld.so.conf.d/customApp.conf /usr/local/_custom/app/libevent/lib Then I issued the ldconfig command and was able to confirm that libevent was included by issuing this command: ldconfig -p | ack -i libevent Seeing that libevent was now included in the ldconfig output, I figured I would be able to compile libmemcached and satisfy the aforementioned warning. Unfortunately it did not. • Pass data from one form to another on a seperate page

  I am building a price/distance calculator with Google Maps API and am trying to pass the info from the calculator to a booking form on a separate page. My first form has 2 submit buttons - one to make the calculation, and one to submit the relevant data to the booking form. I'm stuck trying to make the 2nd button work. Once the API calculation has been made, I get 4 values - From, To, Cost, Distance. I am trying to pass the From, To and Cost values into my booking form by clicking the second button. But I can;t seem to get it to work. I've tried POST and GET but I think I may have been doing something wrong with both. Any help is appreciated.   Task at hand: Microsoft sign drivers on Win 7. I microsoft signed my driver package 3 times every time thinking I might have missed a step or something. However, I cannot seem to get rid of the Windows Security error message "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software'. This is not the first time I have signed the driver packages. I was successfully able to sign other driver packages a few months ago. However, with this driver package I keep getting Windows security dialog box. Here's the procedure I follow - Create a new cat file using INF2CAT tool. Self sign the driver using a Versign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5.cer. Run the microsoft tests on DTM Servers and clients with the devices that use this driver. Create WLK submission package. Self sign the cab file. Submit the package for certification. The catalog file that comes back after successfully passing tests says Name of signer "Microsoft Windows Hardware Comptibility Publisher". When I check the validity of signature using SignTool, it says the signature is vaild. However, when I try to install the driver with new signed catalog file the windows complain. Any ideas? • XP Pro product keys

  I have a very serious problem. After my XP Home OS was trashed by rogue software - a trial of a thing named TuneUp - I did a clean install, including HDD reformat of Windows XP Pro from a purchased OEM disk. This was Service Pack 2, subsequently upgraded to SP3. I had conclusively mislaid the product key. I had to access data on the machine VERY urgently and I did not then know that under some circumstances Microsoft might agree to provide a replacement. I found what I now know must have been a pirate key on the Net which enabled installation but NOT activation. This of course left me functional but 30 days before meltdown - about 20 days left as I write this. Various retailers want around £100 for retail with matching product key. - this would be paying twice over just to continue use on the same computer. I have neither need nor intention of installing XP Pro on any other computer. I have tried a number of applications claiming to deal with this problem but none of them work. A Belarc profile shows that the pirate key has replaced the original one on the system. I have now found two keys, one of which might be the original, but neither work. I am about to upgrade the HDD and it looks like I will just be passing the problem on when I install XP. I have retrieved a key from the disk, but it is seemingly one Microsoft use in production and does not work. It is 76487-OEM-0015242-71798. The keys I have, one of which which might or might not be the original, are CD87T-HFP4G-V7X7H-8VY68-W7D7M and FC8GV-8Y7G7-XKD7P-Y47XF-P829W (or P819W - I believe it to be the latter, but the box will not accept it). The pirate key which has enabled this install and which is now stored on the system but will not activate is QQHHK-T4DKG-74KG7-BQB9G-W47KG. In these circumstances is it likely that Microsoft would issue a replacement? Is there any other solution? I am not trying to defraud anyone, just to keep on using the product I legitimately bought. • Handling site not found and page not found with dynamic mass virtual hosting

  I have recently setup mass virtual hosting in Apache so that all we need to do is create a directory to create a new vhost. We're then also using wildcard DNS to map all subdomains to the server running our Apache instance. This works excellently, however I'm now having trouble configuring it to fail-over to an appropriate default/error-page when the vhost directory does not exist. The problem appears to be conflated between by my desire to handle the two error conditions: vhost not found i.e. there was no directory found matching the host supplied in the HTTP host header. I'd like this to display an appropriate site not found error page. The 404 page not found condition of the vhost. Additionally I have a specialised "api" vhost in its own vhost block. I've tried a number of variations and none seem to exhibit the behaviour I want. ErrorDocument 404 /404.html </VirtualHost> My understanding is that the first vhost block is used as the default, so I have this here as my catch all site. Next I have my API vhost, and then finally my mass vhost block. So for a domain that doesn't match the first two ServerName's and has no corresponding directory in /var/www/vhosts/ I'd expect it to fall-over to the first vhost, however with this setup, all domains resolve to my default site-not-found. Why is this? By putting the mass-vhost block first, I can get the mass-vhosts to resolve properly, but not my site-not-found vhost... and in this case I can't seem to find a way to distinguish between a page-level 404 in the vhost, and the case where the VirtualDocumentRoot fails to find a vhost directory (this appears to use the 404 also). Any help out of this bind is much appreciated!

• Rsync over ssh: "ERROR: module is read only" suddenly appeared

  I've used from some time rsync/ssh to backup my shared host contents to my personal Synology NAS (212j for that matter), and it worked quite well. For information, I use a password-less ssh connection. 3 days ago, I updated my NAS software and since (or at least I believe it's since that), the backup won't work anymore. I get the following error on the host: rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4 bytes to socket [sender]: Broken pipe (32) ERROR: module is read only ..which I do not understand. beside that nothing changed that I know of in both source and destination that can be related to rsync or ssh, I did check a few things and all seems to be alright: I can still connect through ssh from the host to my NAS with the good user, so ssh stuff like keys haven't changed. I also have the correct file permissions on the NAS (I checked, and also tried to create files, directories, .. with the user used by rsync through ssh). I read here and there that the error means that I have to ensure that my rsyncd.conf have the right read only = no in it, but as far as I know, I never used rsyncd as well as I never configured anything for it and until now it worked like a charm.. I use the following command to do the backup: rsync -ab --recursive \ --files-from="$FILES_FROM" \ --backup-dir=backup_$SUFFIX \ --delete \ --filter='protect backup_*' \ $WDIRECTORY/ \ remote_backup:$REMOTE_BACKUP/ So I'm stuck and really can't figure out what happened. Edit: As suggested in comments, I also tried passing commands to ssh (but not from inside a ssh session), that worked as expected, and also tried a single rsync command, which didnt worked, failing just like the complete backup command. • configuring mod_proxy_html properly?

  I have an apache2 web server that handles reverse proxy for Rails3 app running on another machine. The setup works except URLs generated within the webapp aren't getting rewritten by my configuration for mod_proxy_html. The ["Reverse Proxy Scenario"][1] is exactly what I'm trying to do, so I've followed the tutorial as completely as I know how. I've applied or tried answers supplied here on stackoverflow, to no effect. According to the "Reverse Proxy Scenario" you want a number of modules loaded. All those instructions are in my httpd.conf file and when I examine the output from apactectl -t -D DUMP_MODULES all the expected modules show in amongst the listing. My external web server doing the reverse proxy is at www.ourdomain.org and the Rails app is internally available at apphost.local (the server is Mac OS X Server 10.6, the rails app server is Mac OS X 10.6). What's working right now is access to the webapp via the reverse proxy as: http://www.ourdomain.org/apphost/railsappname/controllername/action But none of the javascript files, css files or other assets get loaded, and links internal to the web app come out missing the apphost portion of the URL, as if my rewrite rule is configured incorrectly (so of course I've focused on that and can't seem to get anything to be added or deleted in the process of passing the html in from the apphost and out through the Apache server). For instance, hovering over an action link in the html returned by the web app you'll get: http://www.ourdomain.org/railsappname/controllername/action Here's what my Apache directives look like: LoadModule proxy_html_module /usr/libexec/apache2/mod_proxy_html.so LoadModule xml2enc_module /usr/libexec/apache2/mod_xml2enc.so ProxyHTMLLogVerbose On LogLevel Debug ProxyPass /apphost/ http://apphost.local/ <Location /apphost/> SetOutputFilter INFLATE;proxy-html;DEFLATE ProxyPassReverse / ProxyHTMLExtended On ProxyHTMLURLMap railsappname/ apphost/railsappname/ RequestHeader unset Accept-Encoding </Location> After every change I make to httpd.conf I religiously check apachectl -t just to be sane. I'm definitely not an Apache expert, but all the directives that follow mine seem to not overrule what I'm doing here. But then nothing that I try seems to alter the URLs I see in my browser after hitting the Apache server with a request for my web app. Even if you can't tell what I've done incorrectly, I'd welcome ideas on how to get Apache to help see what it's working on and doing to the html coming from my web app. That's what I understood the ProxyHTMLLogVerbose On and LogLevel Debug to be setting up, but I'm not seeing anything in the log files.

• One user sometimes gets an unknown certificate error opening Outlook

  Let me clarify a little. This isn't an unknown certificate error it's an unknown certificate error in so much as I can't figure out where the certificate comes from. This happens on a Win 7 Enterprise machine connecting to Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010. The error he gets is that the root is not trusted because it's a self-signed cert. Take a look at this screenshot because even if I had generated this myself I wouldn't have put "SomeOrganizationalUnit" or "SomeCity" or "SomeState", etc. (Red block covers our domain name.) I'm a little concerned this is a symptom of a security breach. Exchange 2010 has three certificates installed but none of them are this certificate. They all have different expiration dates (one is expired) and different meta-data. edit: There are two scenarios that I see the certificate warning and one of them I can reliably repeat. When the user leaves his computer on over night Outlook pops the Security Warning window. I don't know what time this happens. Using Outlook Anywhere if I connect to Exchange externally via a cellular USB modem the Security Warning window will appear every time I close and reopen Outlook. Whether I say Yes or No does not make a difference on whether or not I can connect to Exchange and send/receive email. In other words, I can always connect to Exchange. I've checked my two Exchange servers and my Cisco router for a certificate that matches this one and I can't find it. edit 2: Here is a screenshot of the Security Alert window. (I've been calling it Security Warning... My mistake.) edit 3: I stopped seeing this error several weeks ago but I can't tie it to any single event (because I just sort of realized that warning had stopped showing up) but I think I found the source of the certificate. Last week I found out that the certificate on our website DomainA.com was invalid. I knew that our web admin had installed a valid certificate so when I look into the problem I found out I was being presented with the invalid certificate that this posting is in regards to. The Exchange server's domain is mail.DomainA.com so I can only guess that Outlook was passing this invalid certificate through as it did some kind of check on DomainA.com. This issue is still a mystery because the certificate warning stopped appearing several weeks ago whereas the invalid certificate issue on the website was only fixed last week. It ended up being a problem with the website control panel. The valid certificate was installed but not being served for some reason and instead the self-signed cert was being served.

Anyone has an idea why the App crashes. Any help is much appreciated. I did find out that, when I finish() the MAIN activity when I start the FriendListActivity and restart the MAIN activity when closing the FriendListActivity, that the crash does not occur. However, this basically restarts the App and that is not the intention. Thanks all, I got the problem solved. This is what I did. . When moving all gallery related actions to the onCreate, the creash didn't happen anymore. But then after returning to the MAIN activity, the activity wasn't shown. . I then moved all the onCreate (except the super), the generateGallery, and the onStart() to the onResume. Now it works fine!

• Serving protected files using Nginx's X-Accel-Redirect header

  I'm trying to serve protected files using this directive in my nginx.conf: location /secure/ { internal; alias /home/ldr/webapps/nginx/app/secure/; } I'm passing in paths in the form: "/myfile.doc" and the file's path would be: /home/ldr/webapps/nginx/app/secure/myfile.doc I just get 404's when I access "http: //myserver/secure/myfile.doc" (space inserted after http to stop ServerFault converting it to a link) I've tried taking the trailing / off the location directive and that makes no difference. Two questions: How do I fix it! How can I debug problems like this myself? How can I get Nginx to report which path it's looking for? error.log shows nothing and access.log just tells me which url is being requested - this is the bit I already know! It's no fun trying things randomly without any feedback. I've also tried moving this block before the "location /" directive. The page I linked to has ^~ after 'location' giving: location ^~ /secure/ { ...etc... Not sure what that signifies but it didn't work either!

• Configure server on network to analyze traffic

  I have the following network: http://i.stack.imgur.com/rapkH.jpg I want to send all the traffic from the devices that connect to the 192.168.0.1 router to the 192.168.10.1 router(and eventually to the Internet), by passing through the server and an additional router. Almost 2 days have passed and I can't figure what is wrong. While searching on the Internet for some similar configuration I found some articles that are somehow related to my needs, but the proposed solutions don't seem to work for me. This is a similar article: iptables forwarding between two interface I done the following steps for the configuration process: Set static IP address 192.168.1.90 for the eth0 on the server from the 192.168.1.1 router Set static IP address 192.168.0.90 for the eth1 on the server from the 192.168.0.1 router Forwarded all the traffic from 192.168.0.1 router to the server on eth1 interface witch seems to be working. The router firmware has some option to redirect all the traffic from all the ports to a specified address. Added the following rules on the server(Only the following, there aren't any additional rules): iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth1 -j MASQUERADE iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -m state -–state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT iptables -A FORWARD -i eth0 -o eth1 -j ACCEPT I also tried changing iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -m state -–state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT into iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -j ACCEPT but still is not working. After adding the following to enable the packet forwarding for the server that is running CentOS: echo 1 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward sysctl -w net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 After a server restart and extra an extra check to see that all the configuration from above are still available I tried to see again if I can ping from a computer connected to 192.168.0.1/24 LAN the router from 192.168.1.1 but it didn't worked. The server has tshark(console wireshark) installed and I found that while sending a ping from a computer connected to 192.168.0.1 router to 192.168.1.1 the 192.168.0.90(eth1) receives the ping but it doesn't forward it to the eth0 interface as the rule tells: iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -j ACCEPT and don't now why this is happening. Questions: The iptables seem that don't work as I am expecting. Is there a need to add in the NAT table from iptables rules to redirect the traffic to the proper location, or is something else wrong with what I've done? I want to use tshark to view the traffic on the server because I think that is the best at doing this. Do you know something better that tshark to capture the traffic and maybe analyze it?

  When i try to execute php file though CLI this message appear: Exception: Zend Extension ./filename.php does not exist But while run like this /usr/local/bin/php -q -r "echo 'test';" works as expected I tried to figure out what causing this, no success yet.   I have two machines connected. The server is S1 and the client is C1. section: aliases C1.wcu.edu: C1 end section: links S1: right = C1.wcu.edu C1.wcu.edu: left = S1 end When I start Synergy on both machines, the connection is made but I get the subject WARNING message on the server constantly. On the client, I get the three messages below. ERROR: server refused client with name "localhost.local" WARNING: failed to connect to server: server refused client with our name NOTE: connecting to 'S1.wcu.edu': XXX.XXX.XXX.73:24800 Any idea why I am getting these messages?
