• postfix relay access denied from some IPs

  This is driving me nuts. I have Postfix/Dovecot set up on Centos 6 VPS for my emails. I can send and receive emails without any problems on my outlook (home broadband), on my Android phone (3G connection), however when I set up exactly the same email account on Outlook at my friends house I'm getting bouncebacks when I'm trying to send email (receiving works fine): 554 5.7.1 : Relay access denied Now if it wasn't working at all I'd understand, but why is it working on several internet connections, but not everywhere? Can someone shed some light on this? Where should I look for the problem?

• Home PBX to answer/take external calls via PSTN

  I have a Thomson 585V6 router which has built in voip support. I want to be able to use a softphone to make calls. for example phone my dad's mobile. Any incomming calls to my normal bt number should be taken via my pc as well. What I have done so far: I've wired the pstn port on the router to the telephone jack. The router is connected to my pc. I have installed asterisk on the pc I want to take calls on. The sip client authenticates to the sip server. output from twinkle: Sun 22:46:45 home, registration succeeded (expires = 3600 seconds) how do I take external calls/ answer incoming calls from pstn?

• Lync Server 2010 with Hosted VoIP PBX

  We just deployed Lync Server 2010 in our organization and it is working great so far. The next step for us is to enable enterprise voice so that we can replace our telephones with service that is handled 100% by Lync. This is where I am at a loss. I have a fully deployed Standard Edition Lync server and a hosted VoIP PBX provider with VoIP handsets. I would like to get rid of the handsets and have my company's phone service be handled by Lync client (e.g. someone calls my work number, and Lync rings instead of my old handset that is set up with the PBX) I am new to deploying these types of features. • Is it possible to change error messages for users connecting to network printers?

  We are cleaning up our print server (Win XP). To test that printers are no longer really there we have set up some tests. These tests have left us with 176 questionable printers. We have now set Print access to Everyone to Deny. Testing shows this gives the user a 5 Access is denied. message. We would like to change this message for the user, so when they call our workstudy's who answer the phone do not interpret this as a computer rights management issue and can route the call properly. Is it possible? Is this error number system wide, or just for printing errors? If it's not a system wide error where might the string for this error be?

• Can't run .net software on Samsung Omnia Pro B7330

  I've got a Samsung Omnia Pro B7330, and am unable to run any program for .net compact framework on it. My last three Smartphones had been HTC brand, and all the programs I tried are just simple winform apps, which ran on all HTC phones. But not on the Omnia. Whenever I try to start an app, I get an "unexpected error" / "NotSupportedException" at: Microsoft.AGL.Common.MISC.HandleArt() System.Windows.Forms.Control._InitInstalce() System.Windows.Forms.Control..ctor() System.Windows.Forms.Button..ctor() MyApp.InitializeComponents() The proper compact framework 2.0 is already installed in the rom, installing CF 3.5 didn't change anything. Anyone can tell me whats the problem with this phone?

• Making my computer an iPhone music dock?

  Are there any application which lets me play the music in my iPhone through the USB cable? It will be very convenient if I can just dock the phone (while the music is playing), and the music will come out from the computer's speakers instead of the speaker in the iPhone. Edit 1: Stock iPhone dock does have a line-out jack, thanks SidneySM for reminding me. Now the problem is, even though I have select Line In as the Sound Input in Mac OSX, there is no sound coming out from the speaker. How do I make the Speaker output the Line In audio?

  We have SBS 2003, and we use DYNDNS. We forward dyndns address 443 to local server ip 443 port. mycompany.dyndns.org:443 -- server.mycompany.local:443 In android phone i can check my mails with Outlook Active Snyc. From remote machine i can check my mails in owa (https://mycompany.dyndns.org/exchange) But i can't set up outlook 2013 to remote connect. I installed server.mycompany.local to remote machine trusted cert container, but i got error message: "There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server. (Error Code 10)" Is it possible to connect exchange, via dnydns? Whats the problem? Thank you

• Can't access LAN computers with SSH

  I got a new Windows 7 machine, and was using VNC,SSH etc to connect to my Ubuntu machine, and it worked fine previously. Now it doesn't work if I use the machine's hostname or local IP, but if I use the DynDNS name, it works. I can also access it from my Android phone using the local hostname over SSH. If I try to connect with SSH to the hostname, it says "Host does not exist". VNC says "Failed to get server address". NX says "no address associated with name", and I don't see it in Windows' "Network" folder. I've rebooted everything. I've turned off Windows firewall. It was working fine a few days ago, but now it's not. How do I figure out what's blocking it?

• How to install multiple versions of the same software?

  I manage phone systems for multiple clients. Each system uses the same administrator software, but it runs on different versions depending on what version of firmware is installed on the system controller. The software is downloaded directly from the system controller so it's the right version. For example, if the controller runs on version 5.0.2, you have to run version 5.0.2 of the administrator software. You can't administrate a 5.0.2 controller with a later versions of administrator software. Bottom line, you have to have the right version of software to log into the controller. The software is not executable on its own, you have to install it. So every time I want to log into a different controller, I have to reinstall the right software. Any way to get around this? I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise x86.

• My 4 GB microSD card only allows me to use 1 GB

  My phone came with a 4 GB microSD card. On the card it lists that 3 GB goes to Muve Music which is Cricket's music program, and I get 1 GB... Well, I don't pay for Muve Music, so why waste the space? I thought I'd be able to simply buy an adapter and reformat the microSD card to get the full 4 GB; but that wasn't the case... I could only find the 1 GB partition on the card. I even tried reformatting the disk, but I had no luck. How can I get the full 4 GB? BTW, I'm running Mac OS X v10.7 (Lion).

  I’ve been tasked to identify a new server and IT equipment for the company I work for (employees <20). I’m looking at getting a SBS 2011 Standard box. My Question is: Apart from ensuring that our router is IPv6 compliant, is there anything else I need to do/investigate to ensure that we won’t have IPv6 related problems in the future? When investigating this I can only find references to DNS Mangers etc. The SBS 2011 box will be used for exchange and remote log in access – it won’t be hosting any websites. Also will VOIP phone systems be affected by IPv6? (We are running a rather old VOIP system, would that need to be updated?

• Uploading with browser makes all other browser tabs and devices disconnect

  Whenever I upload a video to YouTube all other browser tabs behave like there is no connection at all. It even affects my phone and other computers on the network therefor I think it has to do with my router. When the upload is done everything works normally again. I never observed this behavior with any other upload. My router is a Fritz!Box 7390 and my uploading PC is connected through a 1000mb/s switch (wired) to the router. Uploading through another browser does not change anything. I understand that other sites become slow as the network resources are limited, but stopping altogether feels wrong. speed.io measures for my internet connection: 40.894 Kbit/s down, 2.685 Kbit/s up, 29 ms ping, 2.048 con/m connects

• Connecting to localhost with smartphone: possible?

  I am currently developing a mobile PHP project on localhost (or, to be more precise, a locally hosted website reachable at http://azgoth/) on my desktop computer and wish to check out how the design looks on my phone's various browsers, however, since the project's actually in my computer rather than the public net, I am unable to do so. Both my Desktop computer and smartphone connect to the internet via the same router, so I wondered, would it be possible to somehow make http://azgoth/ accessible to my smartphone in a similar way that my desktop computer accesses it, without making it public for everyone to see?   My kids both have iPod Touches and I'd like to apply some parental controls. I have had a look and I know there are some really limited features on the phone itself, and a variety of filtered browsers. However, none of them are really hitting what I want. The features I am looking for are: Filtered web (as above) Filtered access to Youtube and music Control over how often they are allowed to play games (like 1 hour per day) Whitelist control over who they can skype (or maybe facetime, but I am an android user so can't hook that net.) • Wi-fi signal with keeping the internet cable

  So the situation is that I have Ethernet cable which provides internet to my computer. Thing I want is to have wi-fi connection in my house and Ethernet cable (like I have before) to use for my PC. I will use wi-fi for my laptop and mobile phone. I think I need router for that and I'm looking at Asus RT-N16 (suggested in Coding Horror) for it, but I am not sure. Is it the right thing for me and I will be able to get wi-fi signal and keep the Ethernet cable? I guess the system will be that current cable goes into router, router provides wi-fi signal and gives back new cable... or something like that. Thanks in any advice! I checked with Samsung, they do not make manuals available nor will they help over the phone as to how to remove the bottom cover of this Samsung NP900X1A Laptop. • Blackberry Won't Sync: Says Processing

  I have a blackberry storm 2 and I have it set up to sync, just like I've done with all the other ones in the company. They pull the address book/contacts from outlook, and aren't synced to an exchange server. I have everything setup and then when I hit synchronize it flashes "processing" the phone shows it trying to sync and then it is done in less than a second. It did warn me that the computer was not supplying enough power to charge the device and it said that I should make sure the drivers are correct. Also, I was warned that the device might not function properly down in the bottom right hand corner. Any ideas? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the blackberry software off the disc.

  I couldn't always ssh to my iPhone from my Mac. They're both on the same wifi network but sometimes the connection is established, sometimes it failed.   I have written an app that connects to a server IIS 6 to retrieve information. When doing this i have collected data (phone model etc) and send it to the server with a regular GET HTTP call like this: http://www.myserver.com/getData.php?phonemodel=userphone&appversion=2&id=20 This is logged in the IIS logfiles. I thought of writing my own parser for log files. But why invent the wheel? I´m looking for a software that can read the IIS 6 logfiles.   ok i have Skype 4.2 on Windows Vista 32 bit. Skype was working fine with no problems at all but a situation came up and i had to reformat my laptop. Since the reformat skype doesnt connect to just one person on my contacts list. Ive uninstalled reinstalled multiple times, even removed him from my contacts and readded but to no avail. • DSL to web connectivity is often lost

  I am experiencing a frequent web connectivity problem via a DSL modem. The problem usually shows up as a reload later screen inside of Google Chrome, as illustrated. My DSL service was fine for the first 2 months, but in the most recent month this problem has been occurring. I have this problem several times a day. A few weeks ago, I used to power cycle (off then on) the DSL modem but this usually did not solve the problem. However, in recent days, the power cycle does seem to fix the problem. When the problem occurs, the modem lights do not look unusual. All the lights are green or flashing green. This problem happens regardless of whether I am using ethernet or WiFi for the last few meters between the DSL modem and the computer. What is the likely cause? How can I help the phone company solve this? Their staff are not very effective at troubleshooting this.

• Why does my excel document have 960,000 empty rows?

  I have an excel document, Office 2007, on a Windows 7 machine (if that part matters any, I'm not sure but just throwing it out there). It is a list of all employee phone numbers. If I need to generate a new page, I can click on page 2 and the table will automatically generate again. The problem is, someone messed it up since it's on a network drive and now shows I have over 960,000 rows of data, when I really don't! I did CTRL+END to see if any data was in the last cell, so I cleared it out, deleted that row and column, but still didn't fix it. It almost seems like it duplicates itself after the deletion. How can I fix this instead of recreating the entire document?

• Android tethering via bluetooth keeps disconnecting

  I'm currently using a Google Nexus tablet tethered via Bluetooth to a Samsung S3 for internet. Two things are annoying me. First, if I take the phone away from the tablet (go out for lunch), the tablet disconnects and has to be manually reconnected. Is there a way to have that happen automatically? Second, Bluetooth tethering, i.e. the internet sharing part needs to be switched on each time the bluetooth is switched on (or perhaps just after power cycling) on the S3. Is there no way to have that default to on? Thanks

• Bluetooth Headset drivers on Windows 7

  I have a Dell Precision with integrated bluetooth from work. I wanted to connect either one of my two bluetooth headsets (Plantronics UC Voyager Pro v2 and Sennheiser MM450X) in order to make calls with it using our Cisco IP Communicator. In both cases, the bluetooth pairs ok. Then Windows tries to install drivers, and fails, leaving the device useless. The devices work perfectly with my phone and tablet (both android). What can I do to get it to work? I can't seem to find drivers on either the Plantronics or the Sennheiser site. I am using the Plantronics without the USB dongle they provide, because that is temporarily misplaced :).
