  • Flex: How to refresh/repaint a chart?

    I have a chart for which the data is provided asynchronously via a CallResponder (used with a RemoteObject). However, it does not seem possible to update the chart with the data after it has been initially drawn. I have tried: Firing a collection modified event after assigning it to chart.dataProvider calling invalidateDisplayList (tried with all components) binding the chart data provider to a variable, and doing the above. changing the view state on the last line of resultHandler. None of them worked. When I fetch the data and cache it locally, then use it to call init synchronously, the chart displays correctly. What am I missing here?

  • Classic ASP Session not working in IIS 7 Windows Server 2008 R2 x64

    Hi, I've been googleing and searching here info about this but so far couldn't find anything relevant to my problem. We have a website currently working on II6 and Windows Server 2003 (x86) without any problem. Now we want to migrate our server to a Virtual Machine with Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) and IIS7. Out current app is built in Classic ASP and SQL Server (This one located on a 2nd Server but this is staying the way it is now). The website is configured as a WebSite, not a virtual directory. Using DefaultAppPool with 4 applications.   • Why can't I source my vimrc after installing vundle?

    I'm trying to get my Vim to update on the fly after editing vimrc. So I followed the instructions at Vimcast which basically source vimrc every time you hit save.     So this is related to a question I asked earlier. I am trying to display an alert using a specified layout. I think I'm just missing something obvious but the fix isn't jumping out at me. How can I get this alert dialog to display?

    I'm trying to learn about shift-reduce parsing. Suppose we have the following grammar, using recursive rules that enforce order of operations, inspired by the ANSI C Yacc grammar: S: A; P : NUMBER | '(' S ')' ; M : P | M '*' P | M '/' P ; A : M | A '+' M | A '-' M ; And we want to parse 1+2 using shift-reduce parsing. First, the 1 is shifted as a NUMBER. My question is, is it then reduced to P, then M, then A, then finally S? How does it know where to stop? Suppose it does reduce all the way to S, then shifts '+'. We'd now have a stack containing: S '+' If we shift '2', the reductions might be: S '+' NUMBER S '+' P S '+' M S '+' A S '+' S Now, on either side of the last line, S could be P, M, A, or NUMBER, and it would still be valid in the sense that any combination would be a correct representation of the text. How does the parser "know" to make it A '+' M So that it can reduce the whole expression to A, then S? In other words, how does it know to stop reducing before shifting the next token? Is this a key difficulty in LR parser generation?

  • How to write an iphone application to control a device that exposes a telnet api

    Hi! I have to write an iphone application that controls a device. This device exposes a telnet based interface. The application should ideally have user access control and customizability for each user. I was thinking of writing C++ classes that would communicate with the device using sockets. This functionality can then be exposed through web-services that can be called by the iphone application. However as i looked into it deeper, the api allows you to register for events using telnet and then you can receive notification when those events occur. That kinda put a spanner in the works for me. I for one dont know a "push" scenario can work with webservices. First off i have never programmed for the iphone so far. So i am not really sure what can be done. So i was thinking if instead of having a webserver to go through, why not have the application independently running on the iphone, directly communicating with the device using sockets. The question though is, is that possible and second i am thinking it would raise a security aspect. First we could control security as everything was going through our central server. Is there a way to handle security (in the sense who has access to the device) without having a central server. I am sorry that this seems like an unorganized post, but iam trying to brainstorm here.     According to Obtain client MAC address in ASP.NET Application, it is not possible. I am not entirely convinced because whenever I connect to Tim Hortons WiFi, my MAC address is known. Occasionally, the network is slow and I see this URL like this before being redirected to the Connect page: http://timhortonswifi.com/cp/tdl3/index.asp ?cmd=login &switchip=172.30.129.73 &mac=60:6c:66:17:1a:83 &ip=10.40.66.229 &essid=Tim%20Hortons%20WiFi &apname=TDL-ON-NEP-02177-WAP1 &apgroup=02177 &url=http%3A%2F%2Fweather%2Egc%2Eca%2Fcity%2Fpages%2Fon-72_metric_e%2Ehtml So according to this URL, the site knows the IP address of the router, my MAC address, the IP address assigned to my device by the router, the network SSID, some other pieces of information, and the URL I was trying to access prior to connecting. There's two options: Tim Hortons WiFi Basic and Tim Hortons WiFi Plus, where the "Plus" option allows me to connect to any Tim Hortons WiFi access point in Canada automatically with this device. Registration requires an email address, so I'm assuming this is possible by checking the MAC address and storing it in a database that routers ping upon connection. More info here. According to the extension of this page, I can safely assume it is ASP. How are they obtaining this information?

  • Big problem with Dijkstra algorithm in a linked list graph implementation

    Hi, I have my graph implemented with linked lists, for both vertices and edges and that is becoming an issue for the Dijkstra algorithm. As I said on a previous question, I'm converting this code that uses an adjacency matrix to work with my graph implementation. The problem is that when I find the minimum value I get an array index. This index would have match the vertex index if the graph vertexes were stored in an array instead. And the access to the vertex would be constant. I don't have time to change my graph implementation, but I do have an hash table, indexed by a unique number (but one that does not start at 0, it's like 100090000) which is the problem I'm having. Whenever I need, I use the modulo operator to get a number between 0 and the total number of vertices. This works fine for when I need an array index from the number, but when I need the number from the array index (to access the calculated minimum distance vertex in constant time), not so much. I tried to search for how to inverse the modulo operation, like, 100090000 mod 18000 = 10000 and, 10000 invmod 18000 = 100090000 but couldn't find a way to do it. My next alternative is to build some sort of reference array where, in the example above, arr[10000] = 100090000. That would fix the problem, but would require to loop the whole graph one more time. Do I have any better/easier solution with my current graph implementation?

  • spring security login pages?

    I have some confusion with how spring security works: In my application, I need to have a login page for users after which they are redirected back the page from where they came. I went through a few spring security tutorials and read some articles, and the examples work by securing a certain page on a site (managed by the <intercept url ..> tag). Then Spring security will generate a login page (or you can specify your own) in order to access the secured page. I am confused because I don't want to necessary secure a given page on my site: I want a login page for users to log into after which they have access to elevated features of the site (through spring security's authorization features). My question is: given what I described, what would be the strategy to create this login page which, after login, would grant the logged in user the appropriate authorities? The hack I thought of would be to create a simple JSP page who's only function is to redirect back to the previous page. Then I would use Spring Security to secure that JSP page. But it seems like there should be a better way of doing this... Thanks

  • Paypal subscriptions IPN - problem with users subscribing multiple times

    I'm using paypal subscriptions and the instant payment notification (IPN) to handle subscribers on my site. For the most part it works well but there is one occasional problem I've encountered. Usually if a user cancels their subscription, I wait for the "end of term" (subscr_eot) notification before disabling access to my site. So if they prepay for the whole month, and then cancel right away, they still have access for the rest of the month (as it should be). But some users are having this problem where they: Cancel their subscription Before the "end of term" is reached they decide to re-subscribe When the "end of term" is reached for their first subscription, my app receives the notification and fires off an email to the user with something like "your account has been disabled, if you ever want to sign up again, you can re-subscribe by clicking here". This confuses them because they are thinking...that's weird, I thought I subscribed like a week ago (and they did). So they go subscribe AGAIN. Now they have two concurrent running subscriptions to my site and I get a support email in a month or two ("wtf you billed me twice this month jerk!!") So I haven't found a good way to fix this. I guess the best solution would be to do an additional API call when the "end of term" notification is received which asks paypal "hey did this person already re-subscribe?". If so then no need to fire off that email. But I haven't seen any way to do this API call yet. Another solution is to disable their account immediately when they cancel (the "subscr_cancel" notification) but then I get different angry support emails "hey I prepaid for the whole month why was my account disabled already!!". Anyone else solved this?

It works great with sites that are anonymous, but I have not been able to use it against a site that is expecting username\password (IIS with Integrated Windows Authentication).   • To GAC, or not to GAC?

    I have a data access layer (DAL) that is written in ASP.NET 3.5 and uses the Microsoft patterns & practices libraries (hereafter referred to as P&P) in order to accomplish its data access. I installed P&P and it resides in my GAC, so, logically, my DAL references it in the GAC. Therefore, the P&P libraries are never pulled down to the bin folder of my DAL. I use this DAL project in at least five (more than that even, but I'm too lazy to try to count them all) different websites. And this has all worked just fine for me because I'm the only developer who works on these websites. But, now I have other developers who are going to work on some of these websites. The problem: if a developer pulls the DAL project down from our code repository, it won't build for them if they don't have the P&P libraries installed. My question: should I expect the developers to install the P&P libraries, or should I just dump them in the bin folder and be done with it? I realize that dumping them into the bin folder is probably the easiest way to deal with the problem, but I've never been a big fan of the bin folder if I can reference them in the GAC instead.

I have no trouble accessing the first and second columns, but not the last column. When I do a info=line.spilt(""), since the third column might or might no entries, I am not able to determine the token number. How do i access the 4th column? Is there a way i can use info[i].contains(" -")?

The web service is running on Glassfish and is soap 1.1, I've tried using all the packaged wcf bindings but have not been able to get them to work. I started down the path of using a MessageInspector, and wrote one but then realized there must be a better way, surely WCF provides some way to insert saml 2.0 assertions. I've made the most progress writing a custom binding - i've been able to get the timestamp and signature nodes in the soap header, but cannot for the life of me figure out the saml assertion.     I've started working on a Joomla! project (I'm mainly a C#/ASP.NET kind a guy). I'm using BreezingForms and have created forms, got them working, but now I need to do some additional code in the "Finalize Code" section. I need to access form elements via BreezingForms(FacileForms) API. Here's what I'm doing, but it chokes: $this->execPieceByName('ff_SubmitLib'); // Is this necessary? // load the standard Facile Forms library $this->execPieceByName('ff_InitLib'); // page breaks here. // get the name of the uploaded file $filename = ff_getSubmit('someUploadedFile'); Now I don't know what goes wrong. The page posts back blank. I'm not sure how to debug this in Joomla. I currently do not have access to the server to debug, so I would need to debug remotely at runtime (not ideal I know). My account is of type Administrator for the Joomla backend. As far as I know all the plugins/modules are installed. Any ideas?

  • Cookies not present after using XMLHttpRequest

    I'm trying to make a bookmarklet to download videos off of YouTube, but I've come across a little problem. To detect the highest quality video available, I use a sort of brute force method, in which I make requests using the XMLHttpRequest object until a 404 isn't returned (I can't do it until a 200 ok is returned because YouTube redirects to a different server if the video is available, and the cross-domain policy won't allow me to access any of that data). Once a working URL is found, I simply set window.location to the URL and the download should start, right? Wrong. A request is made, but for reasons unknown to me, the cookies are stripped and YouTube returns a 403 access denied. This does not happen if the XML requests aren't made before it, i.e. if I just set the window.location to the URL everything works fine, it's when I do the XMLHttpRequest that the cookies aren't sent. The only downside is I can't automatically detect the highest quality, I just have to try every "fmt" parameter manually until I get it right. So my question is: why is the XMLHttpRequest object removing cookies from subsequent requests? This is the first time I've ever done anything in JS by the way, so please, go easy on me. ;)

  • Problem with header files of ARToolkitPlus after making the ARToolKitPlus dylib!

    I'm writing this Augmented Reality app for the iPhone and I'd decided to use ARToolKitPlus for it. Using QMake, I created the xcode project file and subsequently the libArToolKitPlus.dylib I tried to compile and run the sample files "simple" and "multi" which worked well. Now all other attempts that I tried to create another project and use the library have failed due to header files not being found. If I drag the "include" folder to the xcode project I get 8 errors instead of just one; The one is for the main include not being found is solved but then it includes 8 other headers that cannot be found (although they are in the same folder) #include "ARToolKitPlus/TrackerSingleMarkerImpl.h" I get a error: ARToolKitPlus/TrackerSingleMarkerImpl.h: No such file or directory If I drag the include folder then some of what I get: error: ARToolKitPlus/TrackerSingleMarker.h: No such file or directory error: ../src/TrackerSingleMarkerImpl.cpp: No such file or directory error: expected class-name before ',' token class TrackerSingleMarkerImpl : public TrackerSingleMarker, protected TrackerImpl<__PATTERN_SIZE_X,__PATTERN_SIZE_Y, __PATTERN_SAMPLE_NUM, __MAX_LOAD_PATTERNS, __MAX_IMAGE_PATTERNS Having the dylib doesnt make a difference as far as I can tell. What do you think I should do?? Would creating a framework help??

    Hi Guys, please help µe as I am new into accessing an unmanaged DLL from C#.. I have a large unmanaged DLL in C++ and I am trying to access the DLL's classes and functions from a C# Web Service. I have seen many examples how to use DLLImport, but for some reason I am stuck with my very first wrapper method spending many hours with no luck.. What should I do to return an object in my 'Marshaled' [DllImport..] function?   • Python equivalent of IDL's stop and .reset

    Hi there, I'm relatively new to python but have a bit of experience using IDL. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are equivalent commands in python for IDL's stop and .reset commands. If I'm running some IDL script I wrote that I put a stop command in, essentially what it does is stop the script there and give me access to the command line in the middle of the script. So I have access to all the functions and variables that I defined before the stop command, which I find really useful for debugging. The .reset command I find extremely useful too. What it does is reset the the IDL environment (clears all variables, functions, etc.). It's as if I closed that session and opened a new one, but without having to exit and restart IDL. I find that if I'm trying to debug a script I wrote it's useful sometimes to start from scratch and not have to reset IDL (or python now). It would be useful also in python to be able to un-import any modules I had previously imported. Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated.     I am trying to work to secure a java based RMI service using SSL. I have some basic questions about the capabilities of using SSL. Specifically, from what I understand, the client and server connecting via SSL will need to have appropriate credential certificates in both client and server, for a client to be granted access to the server. Am I correct in my understanding? Also, what I want to know is, can a person who is already using my RMI service and has access to a client machine , make a copy of the certificate in the client machine to other client machines-- and then invoke my RMI service from those other machines as well? How do I prevent such a situation from occurring? I mean, in a REST API you can use OAuth authentication, can we have some kind of authentication in an RMI Service? Also, can I possibly limit usage of the RMI service? For eg, a specific client may be allowed to make only 5000 calls per day to my RMI service, and if he makes more calls the calls occurring after the 5000 calls limit are all denied? How do I do such rate limiting and/or authentication for my RMI Service?

I am getting an errorthat I can't track down that I think may be realted to having too many service client connections open (is this possible?) notice I never close the service client or reuse it.     Hello, It seems like FileSystem.GetFiles() is unable to recover from the UnauthorizedAccessException exception that .Net triggers when trying to access an off-limit directory. In this case, does it mean this class/method isn't useful when scanning a whole drive and I should use some other solution (in which case: Which one?)?   • After Filter redirects to login.jsp, proper servlet doesnt get called

    My simple project structure is shown in this link. I am using Eclipse and Tomcat 6. There is login.jsp which submits its form to login_servlet. The login_servlet sets a session variable and then redirects to home.jsp. The home.jsp file has links to the 4 JSP files under a directory called /sam. In web.xml I have given the url-pattern as /sam/* for the LogFiler filter. The LogFilter just reads the session variable and does doChain(request,resposne) if valid, else it redirects to /login.jsp. RequestDispatcher rd = request.getRequestDispatcher("/login.jsp"); rd.forward(request,response); Basically I don't want anyone to access files inside /sam directory directly. Now let's say, I try to directly access a file inside /sam directory, the filter kicks in and the redirection to login.jsp works and even the broswers contents are that of login.jsp, but the url in the browser doesn't change. When I enter details and press submit, instead of sending the data to login_servlet, it sends it to sam/login_servlet and then tomcat tells me there is no such servlet here! Obviously there isn't. My doubt is why is it sending it so sam/login_servlet instead of /login_servlet which is usually what it does when I start running the login.jsp on my own. One more thing, is there a way I can apply the servlet to ONLY .jsp files inside /sam diectory? I tried giving the url-pattern like /sam/*.jsp, but Tomcat was refusing to accept that url-pattern.
