For commands it works fine, they are enabling or disabling correctly. But when i try to disable view and open perspective, that contains that view (myproject.view.input), it opened without that view, but also throws exception: !STACK 1 org.eclipse.ui.PartInitException: Could not create view: myproject.view.input at org.eclipse.ui.internal.ViewFactory.createView(ViewFactory.java:158) I can show full stacktrace if anyone want. I tried to debug my application and before i open my perspective whith that view, i checked currentState of my CommandState source provider, and all seemes to be ok: all variables values are correct and myproject.view.input.active = DISABLED Can anyone say, why exception is thrown? I thought there could be something wrong with my database or the network/firewall, I will check it later, but now I want understand this tricky stack trace.

  • Which comm ports exist? Win32

    On win32, using winapi, is there anyway to know which comports (from com0 upwards) actually exist as devices? At the moment I am just attemping to open them all (0 to 9), but I can't figure out the difference of failure between one not existing, and one not simply being available for use because someone else is using it. Both situations seem to return the same last error, so I was wondering if I could list all the comports available on the system.

  • Why does Samba/CIFS suck so badly. [closed]

    Seriously, machines refusing to save data because files THEY HAVE OPEN are locked BY THEMSELVES. Getting 200+ connections simultaneously takes it out despite a plethora of available disk and network bandwidth. You can't turn off CUPS you have to COMPILE WITHOUT IT. DFS support is completely broken and pretty much useless in the current state (as in DFS for load balancing, not replication). We should just move to NFS and find a DFS like namespace aggregator.

  • Should I deal with files longer than MAX_PATH?

    Just had an interesting case. My software reported back a failure caused by a path being longer than MAX_PATH. The path was just a plain old document in My Documents, e.g.: C:\Documents and Settings\Bill\Some Stupid FOlder Name\A really ridiculously long file thats really very very very..........very long.pdf Total length 269 characters (MAX_PATH==260). The user wasn't using a external hard drive or anything like that. This was a file on an Windows managed drive. So my question is this. Should I care? I'm not saying can I deal with the long paths, I'm asking should I. Yes I'm aware of the "\?\" unicode hack on some Win32 APIs, but it seems this hack is not without risk (as it's changing the behaviour of the way the APIs parse paths) and also isn't supported by all APIs . So anyway, let me just state my position/assertions: First presumably the only way the user was able to break this limit is if the app she used uses the special Unicode hack. It's a PDF file, so maybe the PDF tool she used uses this hack. I tried to reproduce this (by using the unicode hack) and experimented. What I found was that although the file appears in Explorer, I can do nothing with it. I can't open it, I can't choose "Properties" (Windows 7). Other common apps can't open the file (e.g. IE, Firefox, Notepad). Explorer will also not let me create files/dirs which are too long - it just refuses. Ditto for command line tool cmd.exe. So basically, one could look at it this way: a rouge tool has allowed the user to create a file which is not accessible by a lot of Windows (e.g. Explorer). I could take the view that I shouldn't have to deal with this. (As an aside, this isn't an vote of approval for a short max path length: I think 260 chars is a joke, I'm just saying that if Windows shell and some APIs can't handle 260 then why should I?). So, is this a fair view? Should I say "Not my problem"? Thanks! John

    Hi everyone, I have an C# form application that use an access database. This application works perfectly in debug and release. It works on all version of Windows. I'm used to using the system.net/mailSettings approach, but as I understand it, that only allows one SMTP connection definition at a time, used by SmtpClient(). However, I need more of a connectionStrings-like approach, where I can pull a set of settings based on a key/name. Any recommendations? I'm open to skipping the tradintional SmtpClient/mailSettings approach, and I think will have to...

  • How can I convert data encoded in WE8MSWIN1252 to utf8 for use in Python scripts?

    This data comes from an Oracle database and is extracted to flatfiles in encoding 'WE8MSWIN1252'. I want to parse the data and do some analysis. I want to see the text fields but do not need to publish the results to any other system so if some characters do not get converted perfectly I do not have a problem with that. I just do not want my parsing to fail with a decode error which is what I get if I use: inputFile = codecs.open( dataFileName, "r", "utf-8'")

  • Emacs persistent folding mode

    There are plenty of ways to fold code in Emacs and I've settled in on using the outline minor mode... it works great! However, I really want my folding to be persisted when I close and re-open files. It is quite frustrating to have folding set up in a file the way I like it, only to have that lost when I restart Emacs. Has anyone found a way to keep the folding state of a file persistent?

Open Source Compilers/Linkers would be ideal, I just don't know if their STM32 toolchains are stable yet. (Both C, C++ compilers are acceptable). -- So commercial options are acceptable as well.
