• Fabfile with support for sqlalchemy-migrate deployments?

  I have database migrations (with sqlalchemy-migrate) working well in my dev environment. However, I'm a little stumped about how to integrate this into my deployment process. I'm using fabric for deployment but having some trouble scripting the migrations part. The path to the to migrations directory in site-packages is dynamic (due to changing egg version number) and I'd rather not hard code my db password into the fabfile. Does anyone have a fabfile that plays nicely with sqlalchemy-migrate?

• can widgets be cached ?

  Is there a way to cache widgets. For example if you place your widgets on high volume websites then each time when someone access that site, a call will be made to your server to get the widget code. This way my server can get too much overloaded just to display the widget . Can I cache the widget HTML code and place it on some server like Akamai. Any suggestions or tips highly appreciated. Despite the latest binary being added to the website project, my code (eg myRadGrid.Datasource = "";) shows a red line on type names as they cannot be found for some reason. • MVC2 Routing + Ajax == ???

  Im touching up an mvc2 application thats nearly complete, I have some ajax requests that end up looking alot like www.host.com/site/controller/action?UserName=asdf&UserPassword=asdfasdf&Email=asd%40df.com&PhoneNumber=541-345-5433&CompanyName="sdf" So my question is how (if possible) can I mask the ajax url on the redirect to simply be.. /controller/action, Im getting the feeling I broke pattern with my ajax and am stuck with nasty URLS. any mvc2 gurus out there willing to clarify?

• Reading HTTP server push streams with Python

  I'm playing around trying to write a client for a site which provides data as an HTTP stream (aka HTTP server push). However, urllib2.urlopen() grabs the stream in its current state and then closes the connection. I tried skipping urllib2 and using httplib directly, but this seems to have the same behaviour. Is there a way to get the stream to stay open, so it can be checked each program loop for new contents, rather than waiting for the whole thing to be redownloaded every few seconds, introducing lag?

  I have a GridView Control that for other functionality has to be inside an update panel. The site is using the Ajax Control Toolkit and the "EnableSortingAndPagingCallbacks" property on the Grid is set to false. However, when I execute a paging call it is still doing it as a callback instead of a postback. How do I fix this and get the paging calls to fire as a postback?

I am able to remove all bindings with Remove-ItemProperty, and when i use Set-ItemProperty it removes all binding and just adds the new. Apparently people are finding difficulties knowing how it really works and they don't see at first glance that there are more events under each month (that you click to expand) So I was thinking about opening two at a time (the current month and the next) .. but I'm not sure how to enable both to be open at once ... any ideas?
