  • Access 2007 - Forms created on the fly

    Hi There, Hopefully I can find some words of advice from somebody. Is it possible to create forms 'on-the fly' so to speak in MS-Access 2007 I have a structure of tables: tblCustomer tblQuestAns A customer may answer the questionnaire answers many times as they relate to all products. I propose to hopefully have an initial input form that will ask how many products of which there could be more than 1 eg: TV, Video (say the user selects 2) On entering that data the next form should hopefully update itself to include the list of questions eg TV Q1, Q2 Q3 - Video (1) Q1, Q2 Q3 - Video (2) Q1, Q2 Q3 Is that possible? Any point in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks Noel

  • What's currently the best way to extend Excel using C#?

    I have the professional versions of VS2008 & VS2010. I wish to add a couple buttons to a toolbar in Excel. When they are clicked I'd like to be able to open a form (either WinForms or WPF is fine) collect a few values from the user in the form and then take that data + read cell values from the current worksheet to perform some database operations. What's currently the best way to do this using C#? I'd greatly appreciate a pointer to any examples / tutorials. My understanding is that VS2010 has improved the process alot but I may have to deal w/ Excel 2003 which I don't think it supports. I get confused between Visual Studio 2008s Extensibility-Shared Addin template and other Office Addin templates I've seen. I'm not sure when which type of solution is appropriate. I'm new to Office development so I'd really appreciate any help to get me going on the right track. Thanks much.

  • POST data disapearing on large file upload

    I'm having issues with a file uploading utility in my PHP application. When sending large files (9MB+) over the form, I get a very odd behaviour: the POST data I've included in the form dissapears, including the file information. I've already increased all PHP limits I could (time limit, max input time, post max size, memory limit and upload max filesize) and I still can't get the proper behaviour. I've tried replacing the regular HTTP forms with a Flash-based solution (SWFUpload, www.swfupload.org), still the same behaviour. I've tried multiple files of similar sizes and its definitely not a particular file issue. I've debugged the POST vars sent using Firebug, and the correct variables are still there in the header, together with the file. What could be going on here?

    Hello, I have a problem with jQuery Validator. I want to use "required" property on a text input. It doesn't work when input has set value attribute by HTML code (tested on Firefox (3.5), and on IE 8 - on IE it works a bit better). Story: 1. Page loads; 2. value is cleared; 3. focus is changed. 4. Nothing happens but the error message should be displayed; 5. getting back to the field and typing some characters. 6. changing focus; 7. getting back to the field; 8. clearing the field. 9. Error is displayed even before leaving the field.     I've noticed that when using $.post() in jquery that the default contentType is application/x-www-form-urlencoded - when my asp.net mvc code needs to have contentType=application/json (See this question for why I must use application/json: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2792603/aspnet-mvc-why-is-modelstate-isvalid-false-the-x-field-is-required-when-that) How can I make $.post() send contentType=application/json? I already have a large number of $.post() functions, so I don't want to change to $.ajax() because it would take too much time If I try $.post(url, data, function(), "json") It still has contentType=application/x-www-form-urlencoded. So what exactly does the "json" param do if it does not change the contenttype to json? If I try $.ajaxSetup({ contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8" }); That works but affects every single $.get and $.post that I have and causes some to break. So is there some way that I can change the behavior of $.post() to send contentType=application/json?

What is the best way to do this? I'm assuming some use of CFDIV is the best way, but I'm not sure how to load the dynamic content (the CFINPUTs) this way.

    I'm using PHP Version 5.1.6 I have a string (session file) and need to extract a value from it, so i'm searching for a needle in the string but it returns false, I reduced the code to this: $string = ';SERVER_NAME|s:17:"stackoverflow.com";REMOTE_ADDR|s:13:"69.59.196.211";'; $start = strpos($string, ';SERVER_NAME|s:"'); echo $start; // prints nothing because $start = false $start = strpos($string, 'SERVER_NAME|s:'); echo $start; // prints 1; As you noticed if I have the character ';' or the character '"' in the needle, the search returns false, I tryed to use chr() for all characters in the needle but had the same result, If I remove the ';' and the '"' from the string if finds the needle in the string. How can I search special characters in a string using PHP ?

    Hi all, I'm a bit new to Javascript and am trying to create a delimited string from a textare. The problem is when passing in the textarea, it adds newlines for each row on the textarea. I need to have the entire textarea parsed into a string with a delimiter for each line (replacing the newline char).   • Set Caret position with JTextArea in JScrollPane

    Right now I have a JTextArea inside of a JScrollPane. For the current content it has both a vertical and horizontal scroll bar showing up. I'm trying to implement a search functionality where a user can search for a certain string and it will set the caret position to the first occurrence of that string. However it seems that JScrollPane only scrolls vertically when I set my caret position. So matching strings going off the JTextArea horizontally will completely get missed and the horizontal scroll bar won't scroll at all. I'm using the basic function setCaretPosition() for the JTextArea Does anybody have any idea why my JScrollPane isn't moving horizontally using setCaretPosition() Edit: It appears the horizontal scroll bar is scrolling but it moves so little that it's barely noticeable. I can only see the very first pixel of the character. Is there a way to have the scrollbar center (or as much as possible) to the caret position?

I'd like to handle escaping so that "%" => "\%" and "\*" => "*" I know i could replace \* with something else prior to replacing * and then swap it back, but i'd prefer not to and instead only convert * using a pattern that selects it when not proceeded by \.     I heavily rely on Opera's speed dial and password management features. Lack of these two features is really stopping me from switching to another web browser such as Chrome or Firefox. Opera's password management has two unique characteristics which I rely on heavily: It saves passwords on all pages, (apparently) despite the page's meta data asking not to save passwords. It offers keyboard shortcut and button to automatically fill in username/passwords and all other fields in a login form, then automatically submit the form. How can I get those functions in other browsers? Thank you!

    What I'm trying to do is create a layout like this: +--------+ Search |EditText| [Button] +--------+ +---------+ |Tab 1 |---------+ | |Tab 2 | |---------+---------+-----------------+ | ListView Item 1 | | ListView Item 2 | | ListView Item 3 | | ListView Item 4 | | ListView Item 5 | | ListView Item 6 | | ListView Item 7 | | ListView Item 8 | | ListView Item 9 | | ListView Item 10 | +-------------------------------------+ So that's a TextView saying 'Search', an EditText and a button. Then below it the tabs - Tab 1 has a ListView, Tab 2 some other stuff. I can get a simple TabHost setup with two tabs working fine but can't get the above to lay out properly. Any hints ? I'd create the UI in the Eclipse designer and check the XML from that, except the designer doesn't work with TabHost. And DroidDraw doesn't seem to know about TabHost.

  • I need to know how to create a custom webform template in ASP.NET that allows me to pick a master pa

    Using Visual Studio 2008, I need to create a custom web form that when picked acts like the web content form, by providing a dialog that lets you pick a master page. I have looked through the webform.zip template and thought I had a clue, but trying different combinations has baffled me as it either doesn't appear or doesn't work. Also when you set the project type to Web and sub project type to CSharp it doesn't appear, so I don't know if this part of the cause, because I would of hoped that the SupportsMasterPage element would of caused this dialog to appear, if it is a web item, but no luck. Frown Any ideas? p.s. I have used my googling resources to the maximum so unsure what to do.

  • Why does php show error for my SQL query

    UPDATE: My mistake - I made a typo. Nevermind this question. I'm using php to update a mysql database. The resultant query I'm using when i print it out on my webpage before executing is as follows: INSERT INTO perch2_content_items (itemOrder, regionID, pageID, itemRev, itemID, itemJSON, itemSearch ) SELECT MAX(itemOrder)+1, 105, 81, 11, 118, 'json', 'search' FROM perch2_content_items WHERE regionID=105 When I copy and paste this query directly into the phpmyadmin SQL interface, it works fine. The table gets updated. However, when I try to execute it using my php code as follows, it throws an error. $insertToPerch = "INSERT INTO perch2_content_items (itemOrder, regionID, pageID, itemRev, itemID, itemJSON, itemSearch ) SELECT MAX(itemOrder)+1, $regionID, $pageID, $regionRev, $newItemID, 'json', 'search' FROM perch2_content_items WHERE regionID=$regionID"; mysql_query(insertToPerch) or die(mysql_error()); The error I'm getting is: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'insertToPerch' at line 1 Can anybody help me figure out why it is failing.

  • LDAP "Insufficient Access"

    I am trying to create an LDAP filter string. In each LDAP entry there is an attribute called "status" that has many values, some of which are of the regex form "[ab][0-9][1-9]". For example, "a20" or "b81". All other values for the "status" attribute are just alphabetical characters. I only want to let through entries that have a "status" value of the first form. When I construct an LDAP filter such as (status=a*) I get an "Insufficient Access" error. However, if I change the query to (status=a1*) that works fine. Is there any reason for this? If there behavior is unavoidable, can anyone thing of a way to get only the entries I want.

    My intention here is to select all entries (Bookings) between "begin" (begin_prefix) and "end" (end_prefix) BUT! The important thing is: If I have a booking at 07:25-10:00 - you query for 09:00-10:00 it should still show the booking because it reserves the room until 10 no matter what .. We're in 2011, I got bookings from 2010 as well! ** NEW!! UPDATED: This is what I have: SEARCH.START = BOOKING.START BOOKING.END <= SEARCH.END ... the problem comes up when .. BOOKING entry: 10:00(Start)-14:00(End) This means according to above: 08.59 = 10.00 (SEARCH.START = BOOKING.START) It will never include it. But it should, since this is the same room and the seats are booked individually!

  • Is it safe to display user input as input values without sanitation?

    Say we have a form where the user types in various info. We validate the info, and find that something is wrong. A field is missing, invalid email, et cetera. When displaying the form to the user again I of course don't want him to have to type in everything again so I want to populate the input fields. Is it safe to do this without sanitation? If not, what is the minimum sanitation that should be done first? And to clearify: It would of course be sanitized before being for example added to a database or displayed elsewhere on the site.
