• ReorderListView in WPF

  I love the controls from the Bag-Of-Tricks. I am interested in modifying the ReorderListBox control to get a ReorderListView control. However, simply changing the base class from ListBox to ListView is not working. When I try to add a ReorderListView to XAML like this: <lib:ReorderListView Grid.Row="1"> <ReorderListView.View> <GridView> <GridViewColumn Header="Data1" /> </GridView> </ReorderListView.View> </lib:ReorderListView> I get an error ("The tag 'ReorderListView.View' does not exist in XML namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation'.) How do I modify the ReorderListBox example to get this to work? Has anyone already succeeded in doing this?

• Get drop down selection from GridView on button press

  I have an ASP.NET GridView that has four columns. The first three are typical BoundField elements bound to a DataTable. The forth is a TemplateField element that I create a DropDownList in on the OnRowCreated event for the GridView. What I'm attempting to do is walk down the data source for the GridView when a button is pressed. I really just need to get the values for columns one and four of each row. The first three columns have data as expected but the forth is displaying as empty. Is this because it wasn't a part of the DataTable originally? Is there any way to get the value for each drop down as I've described it, or will I need to rework this so each drop down list is a part of the DataTable?

• Most efficient way to maintain a 'set' in SQL Server?

  I have ~2 million rows or so of data, each row with an artificial PK, and two Id fields (so: PK, ID1, ID2). I have a unique constraint (and index) on ID1+ID2. I get two sorts of updates, both with a distinct ID1 per update. 100-1000 rows of all-new data (ID1 is new) 100-1000 rows of largely, but not necessarily completely overlapping data (ID1 already exists, maybe new ID1+ID2 pairs) What's the most efficient way to maintain this 'set'? Here are the options as I see them: Delete all the rows with ID1, insert all the new rows (yikes) Query all the existing rows from the set of new data ID1+ID2, only insert the new rows Insert all the new rows, ignore inserts that trigger unique constraint violations Any thoughts?

  Hi there, Im trying to ask the user to enter the number of columns and rows they want in a matrix, and then enter the values in the matrix...Im going to let them insert numbers one row at a time. • UITableView animations for a "lazy" UI design?

  I have a UITableViewController that allows the user to perform editing tasks. Now, once a user has committed his change, the table view doesn't directly change the model and updates the table, rather "informs" the model what the user wants to do. The model in turn updates accordingly and then posts a notification that it has been changed. As far as I've seen, I need to begin/end updates on the tableview and in between change the model to its' final form. My changes though, are asynchronous and cannot guarantee to update the model before 'tableview endupdates' is called. Currently, each time I receive a 'model did change' notificaiton, I reload the entire table. So, how can I really make cell animations (delete/insert) work? Should the model fire a notification for each little change instead of the entire table?

• Problem when exiting search in iPhone

  Hi. I have a search display controller, and it is searching well. I'm searching in a table with several sections and I have a viewForHeaderInSection function working as it's supposed to. When I start searching, my numberOfSectionsForTableView returns 1, and I have a special view saying "Search Results" wich I use in self.searchDisplayController.searchResultsTableView. The problem happens when I select a row in my searchResultsTableView: I change the view, and when I return and try to exit the searchDisplayController (by pressing the CancelButton), the tables change nice, but changing the viewforHeader for my first section is not "pretty". I have a "kind-of-click" anymation. I would like it to not be so noticeable for the user, having a more "fluid" change. Anybody had the same problem and knows how to solve it? In a different question (which would work as a workaround): how can I hide the keyboard while searching without pressing the Cancel or Search buttons? Thanks a lot!

• How to use ccache selectively?

  I have to compile multiple versions of an app written in C++ and I think to use ccache for speeding up the process. ccache howtos have examples which suggest to create symlinks named gcc, g++ etc and make sure they appear in PATH before the original gcc binaries, so ccache is used instead. So far so good, but I'd like to use ccache only when compiling this particular app, not always. Of course, I can write a shell script that will try to create these symlinks every time I want to compile the app and will delete them when the app is compiled. But this looks like filesystem abuse to me. Are there better ways to use ccache selectively, not always? For compilation of a single source code file, I could just manually call ccache instead of gcc and be done, but I have to deal with a complex app that uses an automated build system for multiple source code files.

  I have a matrix, IEnumerable<IEnumerable<int>> matrix, for example: { {10,23,16,20,2,4}, {22,13,1,33,21,11 }, {7,19,31,12,6,22}, ... } and another array: int[] arr={ 10, 23, 16, 20} I want to filter the matrix on the condition that I group all rows of the matrix which contain the same number of elements from arr. That is to say the first row in the matrix {10,23,16,20,2,4} has 4 numbers from arr, this array should be grouped with the rest of the rows with 4 numbers from arr. better to use linq, thank you very much!

• Possible to exclude or reorder a column from `*` ?

  Is it possible to exclude a column from a select * from table statement with SQL Server? I have a need for this and this is my only option other than parsing a raw SQL string to get out the required field names (I really don't want to do that). Just to be bold. When the query is made I do not have access to the list of fields needed from the table but I do know which field I do not need. This is part of a complex multi-part query. Surely there must be some way even if it's "hackish" such as using table variables or views My other option is to reorder the columns. My problem is with ExecuteScalar SQL functions which get the first row and first column.

• Best place/area to store file for Trail period

  I need to have a trial period (7 days) in my application. From this I came to know that you can do that by keeping permanent file, database or shared preference. Where do I keep that file so that the user isn't able to see/delete it. If I put that logic in Sharedpreference or a file with a path "data/data/packagename", when the application is uninstalled then all history will be lost. Any other workaround/ideas? Note: there is no server, application works locally with no Internet.

• How to store matrix information in MySQL?

  Hi, I'm working on an application that analizes music similarity. In order to do that I proccess audio data and store the results in txt files. For each audio file I create 2 files, 1 containing and 16 values (each value can be like this:2.7000023942731723) and the other file contains 16 rows, each row containing 16 values like the one previously shown. I'd like to store the contents of these 2 file in a table of my MySQL database. My table looks like: Name varchar(100) Author varchar (100) in order to add the content of those 2 file I think I need to use the BLOB data type: file1 blob file2 blob My question is how should I store this info in the data base? I'm working with Java where I have a double array containing the 16 values (for the file1) and a matrix containing the file2 info. Should I process the values as strings and add them to the columns in my database? Thanks

  Hi, I have a problem that I didn't manage to solve for a very long time, and I quite desperate. I have a Database (SQL Server) with table named 'ProcessData' and columns named 'Process_Name' (Data Type: nvarchar(50)), 'Start_At' (DataType: DateTime) and 'End_At' (Data Type: DateTime). I need to know for each 'Time-Interval' (let's say 1 minute) how many processes (Process_Name = PN) was open (after or equal to the 'Start_at' column and before or equal to the 'End_At' column) during this time (It can be a few rows with the same data). Does anyone know how to make this query without a 'for' loop? (It ITSELF will promote the time), (The answer will be a table with two columns (1. The time the check took place. 2. the number of open processes at this time.) and a row for each 'Time-Interval' (1 minute in this example ) Many thanks,

• Possibility of initiating playback of flash video on headless server through the terminal

  Hey so I have a website which has video's gathered from places around the web, primarily youtube but a few other's as well. Now I am wondering if there is some way to check link's to make sure they are still available through a unix shell. (My idea is to run a cron to check videos are still available and if not delete them.) I am aware i could use user to do this but it always bothered me and was wondering if there is somehow to check the playback of a flash video though the terminal . Any insight into this would be awesome as I haven't found much on the web. Also note ideally the tech. will work on all video type's including html5. update So it's occured to me that through the you tube api, I could check the status of the video's coming from youtube (which is a start). But I would love to know if there's something else that is not player specific but rather just calls the video to play similar to how a user would.

  I CANNOT get this JUnit Test to pass for the life of me. Can somebody point out where this has gone wrong. I am doing a data migration(MSSQL SERVER 2005), but I have the sourceDBUrl and the targetDCUrl the same URL so to narrow it down to syntax errors. So that is what I have, a syntax error. I am comparing the results of a table for the query SELECT programmeapproval, resourceapproval FROM tr_timesheet WHERE timesheetid = ? and the test always fails, but passes for other junit tests I have developed. I created 3 diffemt resultSetsEqual methods and none work. Yet, some other JUnit tests I have developed have PASSED. THE QUERY: SELECT timesheetid, programmeapproval, resourceapproval FROM tr_timesheet Returns three columns timesheetid (PK,int, not null) (populated with a range of numbers 2240 - 2282) programmeapproval (smallint,not null) (populated with the number 1 in every field) resourceapproval (smallint, not null) (populated with a number 1 in every field) When I run the query that is embedded in the code it only returns one row with the programmeapproval and resourceapproval columns and both field populated with the number 1. I have all jdbc drivers correctly installed and tested for connectivity.   Hi guys, I am back in the field of programming for my Diploma-thesis now and stumbled over the following issue: I need to implement a thread-safe doubly-linked list for one thread writing the list at any position (delete, insert, mutate node data) and one to many threads traversing and reading the list. I am well aware that mutexes can be used to serialize access to the list, still I presume that a naive lock around any write operation will be less than optimal. I am wondering whether there are better variants. (I am well aware that 'optimal' has not much of a practical meaning as long as no exact measure/profiling are available but this is an academic thesis after all..) I am very gratefull for code-samples as well as references to academic granted these have at least a tiny bit of practical relevance. Thanks at lot

• Analyze VS2010 C# projects and report files on disk not part of the projects?

  I discovered earlier tonight that files and folders I have removed from my C# projects are apparently still on disk, even though my Visual Studio Mercurial plugin seems to do a good job of deleting them when I delete them in Visual Studio. It must have hickuped when it came to these files. So I wondered... Does anyone have a script or similar, or know of something, that will look at my .csproj files and report extra files and folders on my disk that isn't part of the project files? I just want to clean up my repository contents.

  I have a Select Left Join Query whis displays me the rows for the latest changedone(its a time) column name ("field" should not be equal) column name ("trackid" should not be equal), and column name "Operation should be "UPDATE" ", below is the query I am talking about... The table structure is jos_audittrail: id trackid operation oldvalue newvalue table_name live changedone(its a time) I hope i have given the details properly If u still find something missing I will try to provide it more better way... • Why Resource (.resx) file added on merely changing Form size and on adding button which is not resou

  1- Resource files suppose to be added on adding some resource in application like image or audio or video etc. But if I just change size of form a .resx file under that particular form. Changing size of form does not add any resource so why this .resx file. 2- I dropped a button on form and a resource file is included again this button is not some kind of resource, it is object created and having information in designer file. 3- A resource file added on dropping button on form but if I delete this resource file and run application it compile and run with NO error and button is still there. If this button has any relation with resource file then there must by some kind of compile or runtime error AND if .resx file has nothing to do with button then why it was added? I am using VS 2008. • excluding a column in csv file with regex

  Is there any way to exclude/delete/replace one field from a csv file with some regexp in notepad++? I have a csv file with some data like this: '1','data1','data2','data3','data4','data5','data6','data7','data8','data9', 'data10','data11','data12','data13','data14','data15','data16','data17','data18', 'data19','data20','data21','data22','data23','\'data24 with some commas, here and there and some "double quotes", and fullstops.','data25','data26' The only problem I am facing is with data24 WHERE I encounter \' and then "" and some wild characters like , and .. This is particularly fixed at 24 field. For the purpose of clarity, I have entered a newline here. But the entire text above is in juts one line. Any ideas on how to solve? Thanks.

• MySQL returns fewer rows with GROUP BY statement

  I've got a MySQL database that stores image information. Right now it only has three rows stored in the database, and each row is associated with something like, for instance, a unique blog post via a key column. As of right now, one "blog post key" has one image, and one has two images in the database. When I run this query, MySQL returns all three rows. SELECT `id`, `key`, `url` FROM (`images`) WHERE `key` = 'TpaS4G5h' OR `key` = '78855e44' However, when i add the GROUP BY statement I only get two rows... one for each key. SELECT `id`, `key`, `url` FROM (`images`) WHERE `key` = 'TpaS4G5h' OR `key` = '78855e44' GROUP BY `key` I'm sure there is a simple solution, but I don't know what it is... so any help would be really appreciated. • C# Console Application - Odd behaviour - char '\a'

  After extensive debugging of an application, I noticed the console window would hang when searching text for the char '\a'. The goal is to strip out characters from a file. The console window would always hang upon exiting the program, and it would make it to the last statement of main. I removed the '\a' from the switch statement and the console application does not hang anymore. Any idea why?
