Another possibility would be to add some text at the right of the progress bar (I tryied with a but it comes in the line after)

  • Image coding library

    - by Dmitry
    Is there any good library for lossless image encoding/decoding that has compression rate more or less similar to PNG but decoding to raw RGB bitmap data would be much faster than PNG? Also alpha transparency is needed, but not essential because, alpha channel could be taken from separate image. Original problem lies in slowness of reading and decoding PNG files on iPhone using standard libraries. Obvious and the simples solution would have been storing raw RGB bitmap data, but then size of unpacked ipa is too large - 4 times larger than PNG files. So, I am trying to find some compromise solution.

  • Fixing warning from git

    - by japancheese
    I've been doing a workflow of making a git repository on a remote central repository, cloning that repo on my local dev machine, doing some work, and then pushing the changes back to the same repo on the remote server. However, and I believe this was after an update I did to git recently, after pushing up a change, I'm getting the following warning: Counting objects: 2724, done. Delta compression using up to 2 threads. Compressing objects: 100% (2666/2666), done. Writing objects: 100% (2723/2723), 5.90 MiB | 313 KiB/s, done. Total 2723 (delta 219), reused 0 (delta 0) warning: updating the currently checked out branch; this may cause confusion, as the index and working tree do not reflect changes that are now in HEAD. Can someone explain to me exactly what this warning means, and what I'm doing wrong in my workflow to not receive this warning?

  • Own data format for the iPhone

    - by Stefan
    Hi, I would like to create my own data format for an iPhone app. The files should be similar structured as e.g. Apple's iWork files (.pages). That means, I have a folder with some files in it: The file 'Juicy.fruit' contains: Fruits ---> Apple.xml ---> Banana.xml ---> Pear.xml ---> PreviewPicture.png This folder "Fruits" should be packed in a handy file 'Juicy.fruit'. Compression isn't necessary. How could I achieve this? I've discovered some open source ZIP-libraries. However, I would like to to build my own data format with the iPhones built-in libs (if possible). Best regards, Stefan

  • How do I set up ServletForwardingController to intercept for jsp requests on weblogic

    - by dok
    My end goal is to be able to use the spring message tag with configured messageSource on a legacy app using a model-1 architecture. I've done this in tomcat with something like <bean id="messageSource" class="org.springframework.context.support.ReloadableResourceBundleMessageSource"> <property name="basename" value="WEB-INF/classes/bundle"/> </bean> <bean id="urlMapping" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.handler.SimpleUrlHandlerMapping"> <property name="mappings"> <props> <prop key="*">myServletForwardingController</prop> </props> </property> </bean> <bean id="myServletForwardingController" name="/**/*.jsp" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.ServletForwardingController"> <property name="servletName" value="jsp"/> </bean> For weblogic I have <bean id="messageSource" class="org.springframework.context.support.ReloadableResourceBundleMessageSource"> <property name="basenames"> <list> <value>WEB-INF/i18n/bundle</value> </list> </property> </bean> <bean name="/**/*.jsp" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.ServletForwardingController"> <property name="servletName" value="JspServlet"/> </bean> But, no luck.   • Injection of an EJB into a web java class under JBoss 7.1.1

    - by Dobbo
    I am trying to build a website using JBoss 7.1.1 and RESTeasy. I have managed to constructed and deploy and EAR with a both a WAR and an EJB-JAR contained within: voyager-app.ear META-INF/MANIFEST.MF META-INF/application.xml META-INF/jboss-app.xml lib/voyager-lib.jar voyager-adm.war voyager-ejb.jar voyager-web.war So far things are very simple. voyager-adm.war & voyager-lib.jar are empty (just the manifest file) but I know that I'm going to have code for them shortly. There is just one Stateful EJB - HarbourMasterBean (with just a local interface) and a few Database Entity Beans in the EJB jar file: voyager-ejb.jar META-INF/MANIFEST.MF META-INF/persistence.xml com/nutrastat/voyager/db/HarbourMasterBean.class com/nutrastat/voyager/db/HarbourMasterLocal.class com/nutrastat/voyager/db/PortEntity.class com/nutrastat/voyager/db/ShipEntity.class As far as I can tell the EJBs deploy correctly because the database units are created and the log shows that the publication of some HarbourMaster references: java:global/voyager-app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master!com.nutrastat.voyager.db.HarbourMasterLocal java:app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master!com.nutrastat.voyager.db.HarbourMasterLocal java:module/harbour-master!com.nutrastat.voyager.db.HarbourMasterLocal java:global/voyager-app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master java:app/voyager-ejb/harbour-master java:module/harbour-master The problem lies in getting the HarbourMaster EJB injected into my web bean. The reference to it is alway NULL no matter what I try. voyager-web.war META-INF/MANIFEST.MF WEB-INF/web.xml WEB-INF/classes/com/nutrastat/voyager/web/ WEB-INF/classes/com/nutrastat/voyager/web/Ships.class WEB-INF/classes/com/nutrastat/voyager/web/VoyagerApplication.class Ships.java: @Path("fleet") public class Ships { protected transient final Logger log; @EJB private HarbourMasterLocal harbourMaster; public Ships() { log = LoggerFactory.getLogger(getClass()); } @GET @Path("ships") @Produces({"text/plain"}) public String listShips() { if (log.isDebugEnabled()) log.debug("Harbour master value: " + harbourMaster); return "Harbour Master: " + harbourMaster; } } &lt;web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_3_0.xsd" version="3.0" &gt; <display-name>Voyager Web Application</display-name> <listener> <listener-class> org.jboss.resteasy.plugins.server.servlet.ResteasyBootstrap </listener-class> </listener> <servlet> <servlet-name>Resteasy</servlet-name> <servlet-class> org.jboss.resteasy.plugins.server.servlet.HttpServletDispatcher </servlet-class> <init-param> <param-name> javax.ws.rs.Application </param-name> <param-value> com.nutrastat.voyager.web.VoyagerApplication </param-value> </init-param> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>Resteasy</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> &lt;/web-app&gt; I have been searching the web for an answer and read a number of places, both on StackOverflow and elsewhere that suggests is can be done, and that the problems lies with configuration. But they post only snippets and I'm never sure if I'm doing things correctly. Many thanks for any help you can provide. Dobbo

  • IE 8 dialog windows not decompressing files

    - by Mike
    Hi, I've got a website where we have pre-compressed all of our HTML files. In general this works fine, but since IE 8 has come out some people are finding that they can not use some parts of the website. We've used the showModalDialog command to open a dialog window and pointing to one of our pre-compressed files but it displays it just show up as strange characters (ie not decompressed). Now it only happens in the dialog. I'm pretty sure our compression is all fine because the page they are viewing to open the dialog is also compressed. Has anyone else come across this or got any suggestions cuz i'm stumped??? Thanks, Mike

  • Extremely slow insert from Delphi to Remote MySQL Database

    - by MarkRobinson
    Having a major hair-pulling issue with extremely slow inserts from Delphi 2010 to a remote MySQL 5.09 server. So far, I have tried: ADO using MySQL ODBC Driver Zeoslib v7 Alpha I have used batching and direct insert with ADO (using table access), and with Zeos I have used SQL insertion with a Query, then used Table direct mode and also cached updates Table mode using applyupdates and commit. Both technologies I have tried with compression on and off. So far I have seen a pretty much the same across the board 7.5 records per second!!! Now, I would from this point assume that the remote server is just slow, but the MySQL Workbench is amazingly fast, and the Migration toolkit managed the initial migration very quickly (to be honest, I don't recall how quickly - which kind of means that it was quick) I'm just about to try the MyDAC components as we already use SDAC (wish there was a multi-buy discount or that we'd chosen UniDAC instead now!) Any ideas?

  • Untar, ungz, gz, tar - how do you remember all the useful options?

    - by deadprogrammer
    I am pretty sure I am not the only one with the following problem: every time I need to uncompress a file in *nix I can't remember all the switches, and end up googling it, which is surprizing considering how often I need to do this. Do you have a good compression cheat sheet? Or how about a mnemonic for all those nasty switches in tar? I am making this article a wiki so that we can create a nice cheat sheet here. Oh, and about man pages: is there's one thing they are not helpful for, it's for figuring out how to uncompress a file.

    Hi I created two file to switch my forum (Language Chinese and English) enForum.php <?php function foo() { global $_COOKIES; setcookie('ForumLangCookie', 'en', time()+3600, '/', '.mysite.com'); echo 'running<br>'; $_COOKIES['ForumLangCookie'] = 'en'; bar(); } // foo() function bar() { global $_COOKIES; if (empty($_COOKIES['ForumLangCookie'])) { die('cookie_name is empty'); } echo 'Language =' . $_COOKIES['ForumLangCookie']; echo "<br>"; } // bar() foo(); ?> <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>forum EN Version</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> </head> <body> please be patient ... <script LANGUAGE='javascript'> location.href='http://www.mysite.com/forum/index.php'; </script> </body> </html> cnForum.php <?php function foo() { global $_COOKIES; setcookie('ForumLangCookie', 'cn', time()+3600, '/', '.mysite.com'); echo 'running<br>'; $_COOKIES['ForumLangCookie'] = 'cn'; bar(); } // foo() function bar() { global $_COOKIES; if (empty($_COOKIES['ForumLangCookie'])) { die('cookie_name is empty'); } echo 'Language =' . $_COOKIES['ForumLangCookie']; echo "<br>"; } // bar() foo(); ?> <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>forum CN Version</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> </head> <body> please be patient ... <script LANGUAGE='javascript'> location.href='http://www.mysite.com/forum/index.php'; </script> </body> </html> There are some files including include template('foo'); , I will get the Cookie value and load different template files.   • How can I turn a SimpleXML object to array, then shuffle?

    - by Joshua Cody
    Crux of my problem: I've got an XML file that returns 20 results. Within these results are all the elements I need to get. Now, I need to return them in a random order, and be able to specifically work with item 1, items 2-5, and items 6-17. Idea 1: Use this script to convert the object to an array, which I can shuffle through. This is close to working, but a few of the elements I need to get are under a different namespace, and I don't seem to be able to get them. Code: /* * Convert a SimpleXML object into an array (last resort). * * @access public * @param object $xml * @param boolean $root - Should we append the root node into the array * @return array */ function xmlToArray($xml, $root = true) { if (!$xml->children()) { return (string)$xml; } $array = array(); foreach ($xml->children() as $element => $node) { $totalElement = count($xml->{$element}); if (!isset($array[$element])) { $array[$element] = ""; } // Has attributes if ($attributes = $node->attributes()) { $data = array( 'attributes' => array(), 'value' => (count($node) > 0) ? xmlToArray($node, false) : (string)$node // 'value' => (string)$node (old code) ); foreach ($attributes as $attr => $value) { $data['attributes'][$attr] = (string)$value; } if ($totalElement > 1) { $array[$element][] = $data; } else { $array[$element] = $data; } // Just a value } else { if ($totalElement > 1) { $array[$element][] = xmlToArray($node, false); } else { $array[$element] = xmlToArray($node, false); } } } if ($root) { return array($xml->getName() => $array); } else { return $array; } } $thumbfeed = simplexml_load_file('http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/videos?q=skadaddlemedia&max-results=20&orderby=published&prettyprint=true'); $xmlToArray = xmlToArray($thumbfeed); $thumbArray = $xmlToArray["feed"]; for($n = 0; $n < 18; $n++){ $title = $thumbArray["entry"][$n]["title"]["value"]; $desc = $thumbArray["entry"][0]["content"]["value"]; $videoUrl = $differentNamespace; $thumbUrl = $differentNamespace; } Idea 2: Continue using my working code that is getting the information using a foreach, but store each element in an array, then use shuffle on that. I'm not precisely sure hwo to write to an array within a foreach loop and not write over one another, though. Working code: foreach($thumbfeed->entry as $entry){ $thumbmedia = $entry->children('http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/') ->group ; $thumb = $thumbmedia->thumbnail[0]->attributes()->url; $thumburl = $thumbmedia->content[0]->attributes()->url; $thumburl1 = explode("http://www.youtube.com/v/", $thumburl[0]); $thumbid = explode("?f=videos&app=youtube_gdata", $thumburl1[1]); $thumbtitle = $thumbmedia->title; $thumbyt = $thumbmedia->children('http://gdata.youtube.com/schemas/2007') ->duration ; $thumblength = $thumbyt->attributes()->seconds; } Ideas on if either of these are good solutions to my problem, and if so, how I can get over my execution humps? Thanks so much for any help you can give.

  • Insert text into a div from a poput form and rewrite the inserted text with javascript

    - by kuswantin
    So I read some related questions here before I asked, but can't find the answer to my problem. Hope some javascript master here can find this and bring the light to me. I created another button for nicEdit, a video button and wanted to insert some formatted text into the editor DIV (note: nicEdit has inline DIV, no iframe, no textarea). This is my button, recreated from the image button: var nicVideoOptions = { buttons : { 'video' : {name : __('Insert Video'), type : 'nicEditorVideoButton'} //, tags : ['VIDEO:'] }, iconFiles : {'video' : '../movie.png'} }; var nicEditorVideoButton = nicEditorAdvancedButton.extend({ addPane : function() { this.vi = this.ne.selectedInstance.selElm().parentTag('A'); this.addForm({ '' : {type : 'title', txt : 'Insert Video URL'}, 'href' : {type : 'text', txt : 'URL', 'value' : 'http://', style : {width: '150px'}} },this.vi); }, submit : function(e) { var vidVal = this.inputs['href'].value; if(vidVal == "" || vidVal == "http://") { alert("Enter the video url"); return false; } this.removePane(); if(!this.vi) { var tmp = 'javascript:nicVidTemp();'; this.ne.nicCommand("insertVideo",tmp); // still nothing works //this.vi = this.findElm('VIDEO:','href',tmp); //this.vi = this.setContent('[video:' + this.inputs['href'].value + ']'); //nicEditors.findEditor('edit-comment').setContent('<strong>Some HTML</strong> here'); //this.vi = this.setContent('<strong>Some HTML</strong> here'); insertAtCaret(this.ne.selectedInstance, vidVal); } if(this.vi) { // still nothing works //this.vi.setAttributes({ //vidVal : this.inputs['href'].value //}); //this.vi = this.setContent('[video:' + this.inputs['href'].value + ']'); //this.vi = this.setContent('<strong>Some HTML</strong> here'); } } }); nicEditors.registerPlugin(nicPlugin,nicVideoOptions); The button is there, the form poput like the image button, so it's okay. But can't insert the text into the DIV. The final output will be taken from this: ('[video:' + this.inputs['href'].value + ']') and displayed in the editor DIV as is: [video:http//some.com/video-url] As you see, I am blindly touching everything :) And this insertion is taken from: http://www.scottklarr.com/topic/425/how-to-insert-text-into-a-textarea-where-the-cursor-is/ function insertAtCaret(areaId,text) { var txtarea = document.getElementById(areaId); var scrollPos = txtarea.scrollTop; var strPos = 0; var br = ((txtarea.selectionStart || txtarea.selectionStart == '0') ? "ff" : (document.selection ? "ie" : false ) ); if (br == "ie") { txtarea.focus(); var range = document.selection.createRange(); range.moveStart ('character', -txtarea.value.length); strPos = range.text.length; } else if (br == "ff") strPos = txtarea.selectionStart; var front = (txtarea.value).substring(0,strPos); var back = (txtarea.value).substring(strPos,txtarea.value.length); txtarea.value=front+text+back; strPos = strPos + text.length; if (br == "ie") { txtarea.focus(); var range = document.selection.createRange(); range.moveStart ('character', -txtarea.value.length); range.moveStart ('character', strPos); range.moveEnd ('character', 0); range.select(); } else if (br == "ff") { txtarea.selectionStart = strPos; txtarea.selectionEnd = strPos; txtarea.focus(); } txtarea.scrollTop = scrollPos; } The flow: I click the button, a form popouts, fill the input text box, hit the query button and the text should appear in the editor DIV. I hope I can make myself clear. Any help would be very much appreaciated Thanks

  • Error when opening .tar.gz via Shell to install Apache Maven

    - by adamsquared
    Thank you in advance for the help. My Goal: To install apache maven per its websites instructions (http://maven.apache.org/download.html), in order to install the JUNG package according to its install instructions (http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/jung/wiki/JUNGManual), so I can use the JUNG classes in various Java GUIs. The Problem: I get an error message when I try to extract the apache-maven .gz (install?) file in shell. Background: I'm trying to install the JUNG (http://jung.sourceforge.net/index.html) package to my system's Java, so I can write object-oriented code using various GUIs (Ecliplse, Dr. Java) using the classes in JUNG. I don't understand how the building/installing process works, and how I can get what I build/install to work on various GUIs and the command line. I'm new to shell and the command line, and mostly have experience using a simple IDE (DrJava, Python IDLE, R GUI) to write and compile object-oriented code. Machine: Mac OSX 10.5.8 32-bit. The Instructions: For the maven building Extract the distribution archive, i.e. apache-maven-3.0.4-bin.tar.gz to the directory you wish to install Maven 3.0.4. These instructions assume you chose /usr/local/apache-maven. The subdirectory apache-maven-3.0.4 will be created from the archive. ... for the JUNG installation Appendix: How to Build JUNG This is a brief intro to building JUNG jars with maven2 (the build system that JUNG currently uses). First, ensure that you have a JDK of at least version 1.5: JUNG 2.0+ requires Java 1.5+. Ensure that your JAVA_HOME variable is set to the location of the JDK. On a Windows platform, you may have a separate JRE (Java Runtime Environment) and JDK (Java Development Kit). The JRE has no capability to compile Java source files, so you must have a JDK installed. If your JAVA_HOME variable is set to the location of the JRE, and not the location of the JDK, you will be unable to compile. Get Maven Download and install maven2 from maven.apache.org: http://maven.apache.org/download.html At time of writing (early December 2009), the latest version was maven-2.2.1. Install the downloaded maven2 (there are installation instructions on the Maven website). Follow the installation instructions and confirm a successful installation by typing 'mvn --version' in a command terminal window. Get JUNG ... What I Did: I downloaded the file apache-maven-2.2.1-bin.tar.gz. The JUNG website specified to use apache maven 2. I wanted to stick to the recommended installation instructions, but I couldn't get to /usr on my GUI (i've noticed you click on the MacHD symbol on the desktop its missing several directories/folders that you can see using the shell using the ls command at root directory I couldn't find a way to access the file using my mac GUI. Therefore, I used the shell to navigate to the root directory and then to /usr/local, and used the mkdir command to make the directory apache-maven and entered it. I then moved the file using the mv command. Next I tried extracting the file using tar -zxvf apache-maven-2.2.1-bin.tar.gz. The Error Message: tar: apache-maven-2.2.1/direcoryandfile: Cannot open: No such file or directory ... apache-maven-2.2.1/lib/ext: Cannot mkdir: No such file or directory apache-maven-2.2.1/lib/ext/README.txt tar: apache-maven-2.2.1/lib/ext/README.txt: Cannot open: No such file or directory tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors From what I can tell the archive file is missing some directories or something. I tried deleting the file, redownloading the .tar.gz file from a different mirror and repeating the process. Same result. Thanks again for the help

  • Insane SmartGWT + GWT situation... Error on instantiating ListGridRecord?

    - by Xandel
    Hi all, I am asking this here in the hope that someone has maybe come across this situation too... I have posted this on the SmartGWT forum: I am having an issue when trying to instantiate a ListGridRecord object on my server side. I am using the ListGrid on the client side, I want to use GWT's RPC to pass back an array of ListGridRecord objects to populate the grid with. I know that SmartGWT is designed to link to a datasource but I want full control over when I populate the grid and this shouldn't be as much of a nightmare as it is to do. I have searched high and low and cannot find anyone complaining about the same thing. The exception however (listed below) has come up (in my search findings) as a possible memory error - where increasing the memory (-Xmx512m argument) has apparently solved the problem. It did not, however, sort out mine. If anyone can shed any light on this I would greatly appreciate it! Here are my details: Developing using Eclipse Galileo on Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) and GWT 2.0.3, I built the initial GWT project using the webAppCreator bundled with the GWT 2.0.3 release and imported the project into Eclipse as described on the GWT Getting Started Page (as using the GWT Eclipse plugin caused even more nightmares when trying to connect to a database - this is apparently due to using the Google App Engine and turning it off as all the posts suggested only causes ClassNotFound exceptions). The line that causes the error is literally: ListGridRecord a = new ListGridRecord(); The error I get is the following: 00:00:25.916 [WARN] Exception while dispatching incoming RPC call com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.UnexpectedException : Service method 'public abstract java.lang.String za.co.company.product.client.service.EmployeeServi ce.getAllEmployeeAsListGridRecord()' threw an unexpected exception: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: com.smartgwt.client.util.LogUtil.setJSNIErrorHandl er()V at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.encodeResponseF orFailure(RPC.java:378) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.invokeAndEncode Response(RPC.java:581) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServle t.processCall(RemoteServiceServlet.java:188) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServle t.processPost(RemoteServiceServlet.java:224) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.AbstractRemoteServi ceServlet.doPost(AbstractRemoteServiceServlet.java :62) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:637) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:717) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHolder.handle(Ser vletHolder.java:487) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHandler.handle(Se rvletHandler.java:362) at org.mortbay.jetty.security.SecurityHandler.handle( SecurityHandler.java:216) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.SessionHandler.handle(Se ssionHandler.java:181) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.ContextHandler.handle(Co ntextHandler.java:729) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext.handle(WebA ppContext.java:405) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.handle(Ha ndlerWrapper.java:152) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.RequestLogHandler.handle (RequestLogHandler.java:49) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.handle(Ha ndlerWrapper.java:152) at org.mortbay.jetty.Server.handle(Server.java:324) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection.handleRequest(Htt pConnection.java:505) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection$RequestHandler.co ntent(HttpConnection.java:843) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpParser.parseNext(HttpParser. java:647) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpParser.parseAvailable(HttpPa rser.java:211) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection.handle(HttpConnec tion.java:380) at org.mortbay.io.nio.SelectChannelEndPoint.run(Selec tChannelEndPoint.java:395) at org.mortbay.thread.QueuedThreadPool$PoolThread.run (QueuedThreadPool.java:488) Caused by: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: com.smartgwt.client.util.LogUtil.setJSNIErrorHandl er()V at com.smartgwt.client.util.LogUtil.setJSNIErrorHandl er(Native Method) at com.smartgwt.client.core.JsObject.(JsObjec t.java:30) at za.co.company.product.server.service.EmployeeServi ceImpl.getAllEmployeeAsListGridRecord(EmployeeServ iceImpl.java:83) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Nativ e Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Native MethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(De legatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RPC.invokeAndEncode Response(RPC.java:562) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServle t.processCall(RemoteServiceServlet.java:188) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.RemoteServiceServle t.processPost(RemoteServiceServlet.java:224) at com.google.gwt.user.server.rpc.AbstractRemoteServi ceServlet.doPost(AbstractRemoteServiceServlet.java :62) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:637) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet .java:717) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHolder.handle(Ser vletHolder.java:487) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.ServletHandler.handle(Se rvletHandler.java:362) at org.mortbay.jetty.security.SecurityHandler.handle( SecurityHandler.java:216) at org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.SessionHandler.handle(Se ssionHandler.java:181) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.ContextHandler.handle(Co ntextHandler.java:729) at org.mortbay.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext.handle(WebA ppContext.java:405) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.handle(Ha ndlerWrapper.java:152) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.RequestLogHandler.handle (RequestLogHandler.java:49) at org.mortbay.jetty.handler.HandlerWrapper.handle(Ha ndlerWrapper.java:152) at org.mortbay.jetty.Server.handle(Server.java:324) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection.handleRequest(Htt pConnection.java:505) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection$RequestHandler.co ntent(HttpConnection.java:843) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpParser.parseNext(HttpParser. java:647) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpParser.parseAvailable(HttpPa rser.java:211) at org.mortbay.jetty.HttpConnection.handle(HttpConnec tion.java:380) at org.mortbay.io.nio.SelectChannelEndPoint.run(Selec tChannelEndPoint.java:395) at org.mortbay.thread.QueuedThreadPool$PoolThread.run (QueuedThreadPool.java:488) Thanks in advance! • How do I get through proxy server environments for non-standard services?

    - by Ripred
    I'm not real hip on exactly what role(s) today's proxy servers can play and I'm learning so go easy on me :-) I have a client/server system I have written using a homegrown protocol and need to enhance the client side to negotiate its way out of a proxy environment. I have an existing client and server system written in C and C++ for the speed and a small amount of MFC in the client to handle the user interface. I have written both the server and client side of the system on Windows (the people I work for are mainly web developers using Windows everything - not a choice) sticking to Berkeley Sockets as it were via wsock32 for efficiency. The clients connect to the server through a nonstandard port (even though using port 80 is an option to get out of some environments but the protocol that goes over it isn't HTTP). The TCP connection(s) stay open for the duration of the clients participation in real time conferences. Our customer base is expanding to all kinds of networked environments. I have been able to solve a lot of problems by adding the ability to connect securely over port 443 and using secure sockets which allows the protocol to pass through a lot environments since the internal packets can't be sniffed. But more and more of our customers are behind a proxy server environment and my direct connections don't make it through. My old school understanding of proxy servers is that they act as a proxy for external HTML content over HTTP, possibly locally caching popular material for faster local access, and also allowing their IT staff to blacklist certain destination sites. Customer are complaining that my software doesn't recognize and easily navigate its way through their proxy environments but I'm finding it difficult to decide what my "best fit" solution should be. My software doesn't tear down the connection after each client request, and on top of that packets can come from either side at any time, basically your typical custom client/server system for a specific niche. My first reaction is "why can't they just add my servers addresses to their white list" but if there is a programmatic way I can get through without requiring their IT staff to help it is politically better and arguably a better solution anyway. Plus maybe I'm still not understanding the role and purpose of what proxy servers and environments have grown to be these days. My first attempt at a solution was to use WinInet with its various proxy capabilities to establish a connection over port 80 to my non-standard protocol server (which knows enough to recognize and answer a simple HTTP-looking GET request and answer it with a simple HTTP response page to get around some environments that employ initial packet sniffing (DPI)). I retrieved the actual SOCKET handle behind WinInet's HINTERNET request object and had hoped to use that in place of my software's existing SOCKET connection and hopefully not need to change much more on the client side. It initially seemed to be my solution but on further inspection it seems that the OS gets first-chance at the received data on this socket since when I get notified of events via the standard select(...) statement on the socket and query the size of the data available via ioctlsocket the call succeeds but returns 0 bytes available, the reads don't work and it goes downhill from there. Can someone tell me of a client-side library (commercial is fine) will let me get past these proxy server environments with as little user and IT staff help as possible? From what I read it has grown past SOCKS and I figure someone has to have solved this problem before me. Thanks for reading my long-winded question, Ripred

  • [Flex 4 and .Net] Retrieving tables from SQL database

    Hi everyone, As the title says, I want to retrieve tables of data from a SQL database, using Flex 4 and .Net WebService. I'm new to both Flex and DotNet. Please tell me a proper way to do it. This is what I've done so far: Retrieving an array of string: (this works) .Net: [WebMethod] public String[] getTestArray() { String[] arStr = { "AAA", "BBB", "CCC", "DDD" }; return arStr; } Flex 4: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark" xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" minWidth="955" minHeight="600"> <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.collections.ArrayCollection; import mx.controls.Alert; import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent; [Bindable] private var ac:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection(); protected function btn_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { ws.getTestArray(); } protected function ws_resultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void { ac = event.result as ArrayCollection; Alert.show(ac.toString()); } ]]> </fx:Script> <fx:Declarations> <s:WebService id="ws" wsdl="http://localhost:50582/Service1.asmx?WSDL" result="ws_resultHandler(event)"/> </fx:Declarations> <s:Button x="10" y="30" label="Button" id="btn" click="btn_clickHandler(event)"/> </s:Application> Retrieving a DataTable: (this does not work) DotNet: [WebMethod] public DataTable getUsers() { DataTable dt = new DataTable("Users"); SqlConnection conn = new SqlConnection("server = 192.168.1.50; database = MyDatabase; user id = sa; password = 1234; integrated security = false"); SqlDataAdapter da = new SqlDataAdapter("select vFName, vLName, vEmail from Users", conn); da.Fill(dt); return dt; } Flex 4: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark" xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" minWidth="955" minHeight="600"> <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.collections.ArrayCollection; import mx.controls.Alert; import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent; [Bindable] private var ac:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection(); protected function btn_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { ws.getUsers(); } protected function ws_resultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void { ac = event.result as ArrayCollection; Alert.show(ac.toString()); } ]]> </fx:Script> <fx:Declarations> <s:WebService id="ws" wsdl="http://localhost:50582/Service1.asmx?WSDL" result="ws_resultHandler(event)"/> </fx:Declarations> <s:Button x="10" y="30" label="Button" id="btn" click="btn_clickHandler(event)"/> </s:Application>

  • Criteria for selecting software for embedded device

    - by Suresh Kumar
    We are currently evaluating Web servers for an embedded device. We have laid down the evaluation criteria for things like HTTP version, Security, Compression etc. On the embeddable side, we have identified the following criteria: Memory footprint Memory management (support for plugging in a custom memory manager) CPU usage Thread usage (support for thread pool) Portability What I want inputs on is: Are there any other criteria that an embeddable software should meet? What exactly does it mean when someone says that a software is designed for embeddable use? We currently have zeroed in on two Web servers: AppWeb Lighttpd (lighty) Feature wise, both the above Web servers seem to be on par. However, it is claimed that AppWeb is designed for embedded use while Lighttpd is not. To choose between the above two Web servers, what criteria should I be looking at?

I have very long integer sequences that look like this (arbitrary length!): 0000000001110002220033333 Now I need some algorithm to convert this string into something compressed like a9b3a3c3a2d5 Which means "a 9 times, then b 3 times, then a 3 times" and so on, where "a" stands for 0, "b" for 1, "c" for 2 and "d" for 3. How would you do that? So far nothing suitable came to my mind, and I had no luck with google because I didn't really know what to search for. What is this kind of encoding / compression called? PS: I am going to do the encoding with PHP, and the decoding in JavaScript.

  • ScriptManager emits ScriptReferences after ClientScriptIncludes. Why?

    - by Chris F
    I have an application that uses a lot of javascript in a lot of different .js files. Each page can have any number and combination of different controls and each control can use a different set of js files. Instead of including all possible js files as <script src="xxx.js"> in the head of my master page, I thought I would reduce the amount of included files by getting each control to call ScriptManager.Scripts.Add(new ScriptReference("xxx.js")) - thus only the scripts that are actually needed by the page will be included. Well that bit works fine. But...the controls also use ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock fairly extensively too. (There are scenarios where the controls are inside update panels). I was disappointed to see that the ScriptManager emits the client script includes before the ScriptReferences. For example - see the test file and output at the end (this results in a JS error because $ is not defined). Am I being dumb or is this to be expected? I would have thought that a sensible thing for the ScriptManger to do would be to emit the ScriptReferences first and then the other stuff. Short of rolling my own ScriptManager like object to manage static JS file references, does anyone have any suggestions as to get the behaviour that I want from ScriptManager?? Thanks in advance. Example File <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head runat="server"> <script runat="server"> protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Page, Page.GetType(), "Test", "$(function() {alert('hello');});", true); } </script> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:ScriptManager runat="server" > <Scripts> <asp:ScriptReference Path="~/jquery/jquery.js" /> </Scripts> </asp:ScriptManager> </form> </body> </html> Output <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > ... boring stuff removed .... <script src="/js/WebResource.axd?d=-nOHbla bla " type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> //<![CDATA[ $(function() {alert('hello');});//]]> </script> ... boring stuff removed .... <script src="/js/ScriptResource.axd?d=qgCbla bla bla" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="jquery/jquery.js" type="text/javascript"></script> ... boring stuff removed .... </form> </body> </html>

  • How do I prevent an ASP.NET MVC deployment on IIS 6.0, using wildcard mapping, from attempting to ha

    - by Rob
    As noted by the title, what is the best way to configure an IIS 6.0 deployment of an ASP.NET MVC application such that connections to hidden shares are ignored? The application in question is using wildcard mapping to allow for clean URLs since we are planning on upgrading to IIS 7.0 in the near future and we are also handling the caching and compression issues with a custom library so we would like to avoid turning wildcard mapping off unless absolutely necessary. Below is a one of the errors from the application to give you an example of what we are seeing. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- System.Web.HttpException -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Time Stamp - 03 Mar 2010, 08:11:44 Path - N/A, Internal Server Operation Message - The controller for path '/C$' could not be found or it does not implement IController.
