  • Building XCode From Command Line Issues (Updating Entitlements file location)

    The first error is a warning for complier 'com.apple.compilers.gcc.4_0' I don't know if this is okay and I can just not worry about it. The second tells me that my entitlements file is no longer at that location. I know this and I thought I had correctly updated it in Xcode's info window. This project builds fine in Xcode.   • How to replicate CoreData NSFetchedResultController with plain SQLite?

    I would like to replicate the notification sort of system provided with CoreData NSFetchedResultController which with really little enables us to update a tableView based on events such as Insert/Update/Delete of objects represented as Cells.     I recently asked myself: If a program, like Mozilla Firefox for example, is started - the control must be somehow given to it. But when the program crashes, why doesn't my whole system crash like in early Windows version? How can Windows take back the control from the program, or even not give it to it fully? (Note: This is not my homework; I go to school but in my informatics class are really only guys that would answer with "Can I eat that?" when I ask them about kernels. Same with my teacher.)

    I´m new trying to make some apps using objective c, so I´ve an idea using uitableview but I don't imagine how can I get this. I´m trying to do something like you do in a spreadsheet where you have a fixed header and the first column too So when scroll the uitableview vertically the header will stay visible at top of the table and rows will change And finally when you scroll in horizontal direction the first cell of the row will stay visible and will change the header depending of how you scroll the uitableview I hope you could give me an idea how to get this, because I don't imagine how to do this, also I don´t have a lot of experience with this programming language.   • Problem autosizing second view

    Hello, Once a view is called from appdelegate, it is properly loaded but not autosized correctly, on the bottom you see last lines from previous view! On xib file, view mode property is set to scale to fill but I tried others and still happening the same... Thanks for any idea to solve it!

  • Fade animation UITableViewCell

    Hi everyone, I have a UITableViewController that populates a UITableView with some data that I pull off the net. The data for each cell consists also of an image used as background, which I'm downloading in a separated NSOperation added to a NSOperationQueue with a MaxConcurrentOperationCount set to 4. As long as the image is not downloaded I'm showing a generic placeholder which I would like to replace (fading out/fading in) with the downloaded image once it's being successfully downloaded. I'm using the following code placed inside the cellForRowAtIndexPath of the UITableViewController. [UIView beginAnimations:@"fade" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:YES]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:3.0]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseInOut]; cell.placeholderUIImage.alpha = 0.0; cell.backgroundUIImage.alpha = 1.0; [UIView commitAnimations]; This is unfortunately just working randomly for a couple of rows, since for the most the background image is set instantly, as if the animation started on one cell would have been "overwritten" by the next call of beginAnimations.

  • Can't return a String value and append it...why?

    I am writing an app and am having problems returning a simple string value, and I'm not sure why. The function I am using (within a file called APIManager.m) is: - (NSString*) returnVenueUrl { NSString *venueUrl = [devEnvironment stringByAppendingString:@"venue/id/"]; return venueUrl; } I can return this properly by doing this in another .m file: APIManager *apiManager = [APIManager apiManager]; NSLog(@"view venue URL is here: %@", [apiManager returnVenueUrl]); But when I go to append a variable cast as a String onto it, I get nothing.. venueURL = [apiManager returnVenueUrl]; venueURL = [venueURL stringByAppendingString:venueId]; NSLog(@"the Full Venue URL is: %", venueURL); If anyone has any advice on how to fix this, it would be much appreciated!

  • How do I query/filter a to-many relationship in Core Data

    I have Customer, Event and Address objects in my data model. Both Customer and Address have a one-to-many relationship to Event. I can get the distinct list of addresses for a customer's events for by doing this: NSSet *addressSet = [customer valueForKeyPath:@"events.address"]; For the part of the UI I'm working on now, I need to display the address from the most recent event prior to now that has an address. I'm starting to go down the path of creating a NSFetchRequest, setting it's entity, sort descriptors, predicate and then looping through the results, but it seems like a lot of code. Am I missing some obvious way of filtering/sorting on the "events" relationship of the Customer object or is creating the NSFetchRequest the best solution?

  • How to remove an observer for NSNotification in a UIView?

    Hello! I've added an observer in a custom UIView I've created under initWithFrame:. [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(updateZipFromLocation:) name:@"zipFoundFromLocation" object:nil]; The problem is, this view is a subview. When the view is loaded again, it calls the initWithFrame message again, thus adding two observers and so on. How can I remove the observer when the view is going to disappear? Since it is a UIView, it says that viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated is not a valid method. Any ideas?

    Hi, I have created a view that I want to be able to rotate. The two views are: containerView and this has a .backgroundColor of red and BackgroundImage as a subview.   • Urban Airship - not receving push notifications on device?

    Hey guys just installed everything to my app tried to push but no messages appear the token for my device is saved so thats working, when i push the website says it sent but no message on device. Right now im using production certificate for push notification with a developer pervision and not the distrubution certificate. I tried cleaning the build and reinstalling but no luck since an extra app was installed from the same one. I used the code that is on the sample file tutorial i think thats all the detail dont know what to do next.

  • GameKit Bluetooth Transfer Problem

    Hi, I am trying to send a file via Bluetooth using the GameKit framework. The problem I am having though is that I can only send one NSData object at a time, but I need to save it on the other end. this obviously isn't possible without knowing the filename, but i don't know how to transmit that. I've tried to convert it to a string NSData*data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfFile:urlAddress]; but i can only send one NSData object, not two. Has anyone come across this problem yet?
