• How to embed images in a single HTML / PHP file?

  Hi, I am creating a lightweight, single-file database administration tool and I would like to bundle some small icons with it. What is the best way to embed images in a HTML/PHP file? I know a method using PHP where I would call the same file with a GET parameter that would output hardcoded binary data with the correct header, but that seems a bit complicated. Can I use something to pass the image directly in a CSS background-image declaration? This would allow me to utilize the CSS sprite technique. Browser support isn't an issue here, so more exotic methods are welcome also. EDIT Does someone have a link/example to how to generate Data URL's properly with PHP? I'd figure echo 'data:image/png;base64,'.base64_encode(file_get_contents('image.png')) would suffice but I could be wrong.

• @font-face Not Working on Other Computers

  Hey Guys, I've been working on my first HTML5/CSS3 site, and it's been going well for the most part. Totally loving the new @font-face property, and it works perfectly on my machine. The problem I'm having is when previewed on another device (computer, ipad, iphone), it doesn't seem to be recognising the @font-face property and uses the fallback font instead. • NetBeans Web-Services Client Project - repeated WSDL parsing

  I created a new project thus ... File, New Project... Java, Java Application. Right-click project icon in "Projects" tree-view panel. Choose New, Web Service Client... Specify WSDL file e.g. ( ) Project (*) Local file D:\temp\Foo\Bar.wsdl ( ) WSDL URL [Set Proxy...] client-style JAX-WS [ ] Generate Dispatch code It parsed the WSDL and generated lots of java files. I created a main class and used Netbeans to insert a WS client call Now whenever I run my code (Desktop app), it again parses the WSDL (which doesn't ever change) and regenerates about 78 java files and compiles them. How do I stop Netbeans performing this uneccessary and time-consuming action?

• Howto allow "Illegal characters in path" ?

  I have a MVC.NET application with one route as follows: routes.MapRoute("member", "member/{id}/{*name}", new { controller = "member", action = "Details", id = "" }, new { id = @"\d+" }); Thus, a link could be something like this: http://domain/member/123/any_kind_of_username This works fine in general but if the path contains illegal characters (e.g. a double qoute: http://domain/member/123/my_"user"_name) I get a "System.ArgumentException: Illegal characters in path." After much googling the best suggestions seems to be to make sure that the url doesn't contain any such characters. Unfortunately, that is out of my control in this case. Is there a way to work around this?

• Using a Loader for a string of QML

  In Qt 5.3 I've been using the Loader QML element for loading screens. Now I'm trying to load a string of QML dynamically. Qt.createQmlObject enables me to do so, but I can't seem to get the Loader element to play along. Seems like Loader only takes a URL (QUrl) or component (QQmlComponent), but Qt.createQmlObject creates an object (QObject). I'm new to QML, but from my understanding components are reusable elements, similar to classes, and objects are the instances of those classes. I thus can't seem to wrap my head around why Loader wouldn't work with objects. How can I show a loading screen while (asynchronously) parsing and initializing a string of QML? • Issues with absolute paths for js files in website

  Hello guys, I have a website which has so many sub folders in it. I have following paths references to my js and css files. <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/styles.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.js"></script> the above code is working fine on my local machine. the JS file is not loading when i host the website into production server. Problem in my hosting server is my website is ponted to www.somewebsitename.com instead www.somewebsitename.com/home.aspx . When I load the page with www.somewebsitename.com/home.aspx this url it is loading all the js files it is not loading files only when I load the page with www.somewebsitename.com. Please solve my problem. How to reference JS files so that they ll loaded how ever u visit the page.

  Hello all, I can upload RuleFlow (.rf) files to Guvnor (both 5.1 M1 and 5.0) and execute them with rules on the server. If I want to use Guvnor as a repository, is there any way I can download the RuleFlow files into my project on the fly? On the package level, Guvnor provides some "Information and Important URLs" which only talk about rules. I was wondering if there is any other URL which will give me the RuleFlow files? Is WebDav my only other option? Thanks in adavance.

• problems with UTF-8 encoding in PHP

  Hi guys, The characters I am getting from the URL, for example www.mydomain.com/?name=john , were fine, as longs as they were not in Russian. If they were are in Russian, I was getting '????'. So I added $name= iconv("cp1251","utf-8" ,$name); and now it works fine for Russian and English characters, but screws up other languages. :))) For example 'Janis' ( Latvian ) that worked fine before iconv, now turns into 'j??nis'. Any idea if there's some universal encoder that would work with both the Cyrillic languages and not screw up other languages?

• PHP Redirect problem with subdomain

  I'm using PHP to redirect a page back to the previous page with the following: header("Location: {$_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']}"); This set of pages will only be used by internal users, so I'm not terribly concerned about the fact that the referer will not always be available. The problem I'm running in to is that if the referer looks like http://subdomain.domain.com/test.php?id=13, the redirect ends up going to http://subdomain.domain.com/.domain.com/test.php?id=13. Notice the additional .domain.com/ in the url. I've tested by hardcoding the value, and it causes the problem as well. phpMyAdmin seems to suffer the same issue, but only on this particular server. If this is not an SO question, please move accordingly.

  I create dinamically a chart for a website. However, in the chart image the labels are reversed. I searched the documentation, but I didn't get why it is like this. Is it because I didn't set a value correctly, or is this the desired functionality? I could reverse the label texts in chxl from code to be displayed how I want. Is this the right way?

• Neither IE or Firefox respects the control values that are output

  I'm writing a survey designer asp.net mvc. It has buttons to move questions up and down. The buttons post the whole form back and the affected questions are swapped on the server. When the form returns the only thing that is changed are the values for each survey question. Both firefox and IE seem to ignore this change. Nothing is persisted to the database (until save) and url doesn't change so the post just returns the same view but I've stepped through my code to ensure the sequence of values being rendered in the view reflects the swap which is ok. However "view - source" doesn't show the change suggesting caching issue (maybe auto complete). I've tried autocomplete="off" in my form. Response.Cache.SetNoStore(); in my global.asax [System.Web.Mvc.OutputCache(NoStore = true, Duration = 0, VaryByParam = "*")] before my controller and the following in my page header NOTHING!!! This must be real common. Anyone got a clue?

  Hi, I've been trying to make this code work for the last 3 hours. I've tried about everytinh, but I'm still unable to get it to work. I only managed to send 1 data. When I use this code, I only manage to retrieve recaptcha_challenge_field. If I remove recaptcha_challenge_field, I retrieve recaptcha_response_field.   Hello there, I want to open a PDF-print dialog (not regular browser dialog) without visually opening the document so that I can print a pdf without having the header and footer information from a regular webpage print. I know this is possible, because I have seen it in the past on a postal service website for printing postage labels, but cannot remember where. As far as I know, printing it from an iframe doesnt work, as it only opens regular browser print dialog and gives me ugly page and url information: frames['name'].focus(); frames['name'].print(); Thank you for your time. • A better way of switching between Android source versions

  I would like to be able to switch between various android releases (1.0, 1.5, 2.0, etc.) and then access them via the file system to copy all files for that version into a tarball. Currently I am just running repo init -u <source URL> -b release-1. to get each version (changing the tag for each version I need). If this was a single git, I could check out the branch/tag I needed and the prject directory would "morph" to reflect then and I could just tar that folder. since the android source is split into multiple git repositories controlled by repo I have not yet found a way to change this other then the method mentioned above. any suggestions are appreciated.

  I have codeigniter installed at the root directory, and would like to have a subdirectory called "test" password protected using htaccess. I keep getting a "404 page not found" no matter what I try.
