• Can I tell Castle Windsor to create a component in a separate AppDomain?

  I've created a multi-threaded service that uses Castle Windsor to create components to run on separate threads. I Resolve an component by name with parameters for each thread. I'm running into concurrency problems with a 3rd party library used by the components. I suspect that isolating those components in separate AppDomains will resolve the problem.   I have an AIR application written in html/javascript and I want to use the Actionscript print functions but I have no experience in Actionscript for AIR. Where do I put the Actionscript code ? Does it go into an mxml file or does it need to be compiled into a Flash application. Where do I put it and how do I include it into the html document ? • How to send set of data for Ajax call from jquery with php at the serverside?

  I basically have to do a update of a record. I have a set of controls like textbox, list box, radio button etc. Then i have a button on click of which i need to carry all the updated data into mysql database with a ajax request without page refresh. I am using the php with codeigniter as my serverside code. On client side i am able to send the ajax request like $(document).ready(function(){ $('#users_menu').click( function(){ $('#tempdiv').load('http://localhost//web1/index.php/c1',null); } ); }); In the above code the request is placed to a server side php page where i am not able to read the values of the control values (values of textbox, listbox etc). Now this means i should be sending the list with the request. But i am not aware of how to send this request. Please help me with some details of how to send the list of values or is it possible to read the vaules some how in the serverside php code. For your information i am using codeigniter with my php.   I'm using a pickerView with multiple components related to several fields in a Database (CoreData). Is it possible to change the fontcolor for a specific component according the presence of data in the DB ? For example the field in the DB is null the component font color should be RED otherwise black. Any help will be appreciated ! My code below works in an app bit when calling in Application_Start i get a NoSuchDirectoryException. Not closing the writer (as my code doesnt do below) i WILL get a LockObtainFailedException with the message Lock obtain timed out: SimpleFSLock@<FULL_PATH> from either app or asp.net These thread hinted when spawning threads they get less permissions then i do (but! my main thread has problems as well...) and one solution is to impersonate IIS. I am using visual studios 2010. I am not sure how full blown it is but my attempt to impersonate it failed.   I'm trying to construct a query to get the "average, maximum, minimum number of items purchased by a single user". The data source is this simple sales record table: class SalesRecord(models.Model): id = models.IntegerField(primary_key=True) user_id = models.IntegerField() product_code = models.CharField() price = models.IntegerField() created_at = models.DateTimeField() A new record is inserted into this table for every item purchased by a user. • Symfony forms question (restoring selected value of a dynamically populated sfWidgetFormSelect widge

  I am using Symfony 1.3.2 with Propel ORM on Ubuntu 9.10. I have developed a form that dynamically populates a select widget with cities in a selected country, using AJAX. Before the data entered on the form is saved, I validate the form. If validation fails, the form is presented back to the user for correction. However, because the country list is dynamically generated, the form that is presented for correction does not have a valid city selected (it is empty, since the country widget has not changed yet). This is inconvenient for the user, because it means they have to select ANOTHER country (so the change event is fired), and then change back to the original country they selected, then FINALLY select the city which they had last selected. All of this is forced on the user because another (possibly unrelated) field did not vaildate. I tried $form-getValue('widget_name'), called immediately after $form-bind(), but it seems (infact, IIRC, if form fails to validate, all the values are reset to null) - so that does not work. I am currently trying a nasty hack which involves the use of directly accesing the input (i.e. tainted) data via $_POST, and setting them into a flash variable - but I feel its a very nasty hack) What I'm trying to do is a common use case scenario - is there a better way to do this, than hacking around with $_POST etc?

• JSF: How to get the selected item from selectOneMenu if its rendering is dynamic?

  At my view I have two menus that I want to make dependent, namely, if first menu holds values "render second menu" and "don't render second menu", I want second menu to be rendered only if user selects "render second menu" option in the first menu. After second menu renders at the same page as the first one, user has to select current item from it, fill another fields and submit the form to store values in database. Both the lists of options are static, they are obtained from the database once and stay the same. My problem is I always get null as a value of the selected item from second menu. How to get a proper value? When I change value in first menu and update isRendered with valueChangeListener, the second menu displays but it doesn't initialize currentItem while submitting. • JEE6 Global JNDI Name and Maven Deployment

  I'm having some problems with the global JNDI names of my EJB resources which is (or at least will) cause my JNDI look ups to fail. The project is being developed on Netbeans and is a standard Maven Web Application. When my application is deployed to GF3.0 the application name is set to something like: com.example_myapp_war_1.0-SNAPSHOT which is all well and good from Netbeans point of view because it ensures the name is unique but it also means all the EJBs get global names such as this: java:global/com.example_myapp_war_1.0-SNAPSHOT/CustomerService This, of course, is going to cause problems because every time the version changes all the global names change (I've tested this by changing the version and the names indeed changed). The name is being generated from the POM file and it's a concatenation of: <groupId>com.example</groupId> <artifactId>myapp</artifactId> <packaging>war</packaging> <version>1.0-SNAPSHOT</version> Up until now I've got away with just injecting all the resources using @EJB but now I need to access the CustomerService EJB from a JSF Converter so I'm doing a JNDI look up like this: try { Context ctx = new InitialContext(); CustomerService customerService = (CustomerService)ctx.lookup( "java:global/com.example_myapp_war_1.0-SNAPSHOT/CustomerService" ); return customerService.get(submittedValue); } catch( Exception e ) { logger.error( "Failed to convert customer.", e ); return null; } which will clearly break when the application is properly released and the module name changes. So, the million dollar question: how can I set the modle name in maven or how do I recover the module name so that I can programatically build the JNDI name at runtile. I've tried setting it in the web.xml file as suggested by that link but it was ignored. I think I'd rather build the name at runtime as that means there is less scope for screw ups when the application is deployed. Many thanks for any help, I've been tearing my hair out all day on this.

• Virtual Earth (Bing) Pin "moves" when zoom level changes

  Hi guys, Created a Virtual Earth (Bing) map to show a simple pin at a particular point. Everything works right now - the pin shows up, the title and description pop up on hover. The map is initially fully zoomed into the pin, but the STRANGE problem is that when I zoom out it moves slightly lower on the map. So if I started with the pin pointing somewhere in Toronto, if I zoom out enough the pin ends up i the middle of Lake Ontario! If I pan the map, the pin correctly stays in its proper location. When I zoom back in, it moves slightly up until it's back to its original correct position! I've looked around for a solution for a while, but I can't understand it at all. Please help!! • Encoding a email address that can be used as part of a URL in codeigniter

  Is there a way to encode a email address that can be used as a part of a url in codeigniter?. I need to decode back the email address from the url. What I am trying to do is just a -forgotten password recovery- thing. I send a confirmation link to the user's email address, the link needs to be like ../encodedEmail/forgottenPasswordCode (with the forgottenPasswordCode updated in the db for the user with the submitted email). When the user visits that link, I decode the email(if the email - forgottenPasswordCode pair is in the table), i allow them to reset their password (and i reset forgottenPasswordCode back to null). I could just do a loop -checking the table with a select query- (or) -set that forgottenPasswordCode column unique, so i keep generating on a insert failure(would that be a lot faster ?)- until I generate a forgottenPasswordCode that doesn't already exist in the table. But the guy I do this for would not accept it this way:). He wants the checking be done with the user's email, he thinks its much faster. I am working with codeigniter, I used its encode() function, it seems to produce characters like '-slashes-' at times that breaks the encoded-email-string. Any other ideas?

• Castle MonoRail ARDataBind trying to bind to non-existent row

  I have a shopping cart application running on MonoRail and using Castle ActiveRecord/NHibernate, and there is a ShoppingCart table and a ShoppingCartItems table, which are mapped to entities. Here's the scenario: a user adds things to the shopping cart, say 5 items, and goes to view the cart. The cart shows all 5 items. the user duplicates the tab/window and gets another tab of the same cart (call it tab B). the user removes an item from the cart, so now there are 4 items in tab B, but in the original tab A, there are still 5 items. the user goes back to tab A, and updates something in the cart and clicks the "update" button which submits the changes. my MonoRail action tries to do an ARDataBind on ShoppingCartItems using the data from the view, which includes all 5 items. when it gets to the item that the user deleted from tab B, it throws a "No row with the given identifier exists" for that item. I can't figure out if there is a way to have it not bind that row, return null, return new instance, etc.? there is an AutoLoadBehavior parameter on the ARDataBind attribute, but that appears to only affect loading of child entities, and not the root entity. regardless of which option I choose, I get the exception before control even enters the action method (except AutoLoadBehavior.Never, but that doesn't really help me). instead, I have code that calls Request.ObtainParamsNode() to pull the form nodes and parse them manually into objects, and ignores the ones that no longer exist. is there a better way? thanks.

  Ok, this is strange. I would hope it's something I'm doing wrong and not that MS has two technologies that simply don't work together. (UPDATE: See bottom of post for Script tag order in HEAD section) I'm trying to use the dataView template and client-side validation.
