How can I create an additional user now that the table is in the web host? I can see that there's aspnet_Membership, aspnet_Applications, etc..etc

  • How to Create MySQL Query to Find Related Posts from Multiple Tables?

    This is a complicated situation (for me) that I'm hopeful someone on here can help me with. I've done plenty of searching for a solution and have not been able to locate one. This is essentially my situation... (I've trimmed it down because if someone can help me to create this query I can take it from there.) TABLE articles (article_id, article_title) TABLE articles_tags (row_id, article_id, tag_id) TABLE article_categories (row_id, article_id, category_id) All of the tables have article_id in common. I know what all of the tag_id and category_id rows are. What I want to do is return a list of all the articles that article_tags and article_categories MAY have in common, ordered by the number of common entries. For example: article1 - tags: tag1, tag2, tag3 - categories: cat1, cat2 article2 - tags: tag2 - categories: cat1, cat2 article3 - tags: tag1, tag3 - categories: cat1 So if my article had "tag1" and "cat1 and cat2" it should return the articles in this order: article1 (tag1, cat1 and cat2 in common) article3 (tag1, cat1 in common) article2 (cat1 in common) Any help would genuinely be appreciated! I just realize that I don't have the week number of month (e.g In January 1,2,3,4 February 1,2,3,4) How do I go about calculating the week numbers in a month to fill this table?     Setting up a box for SQL Server 2008, which would give the best performance (heavy OLTP)? The more drives in a RAID-10 array the better performance, but will losing 4 drives to dedicate them to the transaction logs give us more performance. 12-drives in RAID-10 plus one hot spare. OR 8-drives in RAID-10 for database and 4-drives RAID-10 for transaction logs plus 2 hot spares (one for each array). We have 14-drive slots to work with and it's an older PowerVault that doesn't support global hot spares.

  • How to avoid the same calculations on column values over and over again in a select?

    I sometimes write SELECTs on the form: SELECT a.col1+b.col2*c.col4 as calc_col1, a.col1+b.col2*c.col4 + xxx as calc_col1_PLUS_MORE FROM .... INNER JOIN ... ON a.col1+b.col2*c.col4 < d.some_threshold WHERE a.col1+b.col2*c.col4 > 0 When the calculations get rather involved and used up to 3-5 times within the same SELECT, I would really like to refactor that out in a function or similar in order to 1) hopefully improve performance / make use of cache 2) avoid forgetting to update one of the 4 calculations when I at a later stage realize I need to change the calculation. I usually have these selects within SPs. Any ideas?

    When measuring performance on my query I came up with a dependency between isolation level and elapsed time that was surprising to me READUNCOMMITTED - 409024 READCOMMITTED - 368021 REPEATABLEREAD - 358019 SERIALIZABLE - 348019 Left column is table hint, and the right column is elapsed time in microseconds (sys.dm_exec_query_stats.total_elapsed_time). Why better isolation level gives better performance? This is a development machine and no concurrency whatsoever happens. I would expect READUNCOMMITTED to be the fasted due to less locking overhead.

    I am trying to install MS SQL Database 2005 on Windows XP Home SP3. It fails giving no reason ("Database failed to install"), then exits. I had already installed MS SQL Database Express Edition 2008 during 2005 setup. But when I removed 2008 one and tried to install 2005 afterwards it still failed with same error. The error happens when I am trying to install Dragon Age Toolset or Visual 2008 Pro edition. I do not known which else informations may be valuable as I never before encountered problems with installing MS database

    Hi, I have a join which deletes rows that match another table but the joining fields have to be a large varchar (250 chars). I know this isn't ideal but I can't think of a better way. Here's my query: DELETE P FROM dbo.FeedPhotos AS P INNER JOIN dbo.ListingPhotos AS P1 ON P.photo = P1.feedImage INNER JOIN dbo.Listings AS L ON P.accountID = L.accountID WHERE P.feedID = @feedID This query is constantly timing out even though there are less than 1000 rows in the ListingPhotos table. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Polymorphism in SQL database tables?

    I currently have multiple tables in my database which consist of the same 'basic fields' like: name character varying(100), description text, url character varying(255) But I have multiple specializations of that basic table, which is for example that tv_series has the fields season, episode, airing, while the movies table has release_date, budget etc. Now at first this is not a problem, but I want to create a second table, called linkgroups with a Foreign Key to these specialized tables. That means I would somehow have to normalize it within itself. One way of solving this I have heard of is to normalize it with a key-value-pair-table, but I do not like that idea since it is kind of a 'database-within-a-database' scheme, I do not have a way to require certain keys/fields nor require a special type, and it would be a huge pain to fetch and order the data later. So I am looking for a way now to 'share' a Primary Key between multiple tables or even better: a way to normalize it by having a general table and multiple specialized tables.

  • Linq to sql add/update in different methods with different datacontexts

    I have to methods, Add() and Update() which both create a datacontext and returns the object created/updated. In my unit test I call first Add(), do some stuff and then call Update(). The problem is that Update() fails with the exception: System.Data.Linq.DuplicateKeyException: Cannot add an entity with a key that is already in use.. I understand the issue but want to know what to do about it? I've read a bit about how to handle multiple datacontext objects and from what I've heard this way is OK. I understand that the entity is still attached to the datacontext in Add() but I need to find out how to solve this? Thanks in advance

  • LINQ to SQL does not update when data has changed in database

    I have this problem where after a field (say Field3 in table MyTable) is updated on the database, MyTable.Field3 (in C#) is still returning the old value. I suspect there is some caching...? How do I force it to: Read the value from the database? OR Update the value in the MyTable class? Or is there anything I miss? Thank you in advance.

    I have some data in Excel and need to import into database. Is there any tool that can validate and maybe clean the data? Does Red Gate have such tool? The input will be Excel. Given table constraints, eg. CHECK, UNIQUE KEY, datetime format, NOT NULL. Desire output should be as least shows which lines are having problems, and then fix some trivial error automatically, like fill in default value for NULL columns, automatically correct datetime format. I know using Python can build such a script. But just wonder what's the popular way to do this. Thanks.
