Redirect parent page inside jQuery-ui-dialog

XFBML fb:login_button only loading 20% of the time

I have a fb:login-button that is working but the button only displays about 20% of the time I load the page. Have a look here to see what I mean, bearing in mind I have never had to refresh the page more than 20 times before I finally turns up. How to call windows authentication programmatically in sharepoint?

Hi guys, Here is my scenario. When anonymous user visits site collection's default site, custom login form panel is shown. This form is a webUserControl(.ascx file) that is embeded into page as webpart. Then user enters username and password. When submit button has been clicked, authentication will be handled by code behind of custom login form panel. Here is my question. How can I call SharePoint's authentication method with the username and password that is entered by user. Simply, I want users to login through my custom login form panel because default windows authentication window is looking really bad.

Facebook canvas Iframe App authentication problem.

hi, I am in the conversion process of facebook app from fbml to iframe. Now i am testing using few iframe pages. $user = $facebook->require_login(); It gives the current user logged in. Once it get the variable from the facebook.com it saves in cookie by the PHP API provided by facebook). I logged out using another tab of facebook and i tryed using my app without refreshing the whole site (by just using the links inside my app). It still gives the $user variable. It indicates that user has logged in instead of user logged out. Please help me out. I want my app secured. It looks my iframe app accessible when we select "open this frame in new window". I need a solution for this too. Thanks in advance.

Make a service monitor and restart process

Hi, i'm making an app that needs to be up and running at all times. (24/7) I'm not very expirienced with services, but I read on the internet that services can be made uncolasble by setting their "onclose" property to false. I have got the service monitoring my app, and the service can't be closed directly from the task manager services window... but, when I click "go to process" task manager leads me to the process the service spawned. From there I can close the process and instantly close the service. Since I don't have much expirience with services i'm wondering, is this behavior normal? If not, how to make the service unstopable?

Adding video and flash functionality to the Ajax Control Toolkit HTMLEditor

Greetings, I'm looking for a way to extend the functionality of the HTMLEditor control that the Ajax Control Toolkit supplies for ASP.net. I would like to add video and flash functionality to the editor (buttons, allowed tags, etc). To my knowledge, this is rather easy: plop in an tag with the correct parameters and it just works; I have videos running in the preview window of the editor. Unfortunately, the tag is stripped away when saving the HTML-code and updating it in the database. Hence, I would like to ask if there is any way of adding this functionality apart from manually adding the changes in the source control repository of the Ajax Control Toolkit and recompiling it. If this is not possible, but can offer some help concerning the implementation of this in the source code, it would also be much appreciated. Thank you for your time :)

MFMailComposeViewController: how to get notified when view appears?

In my app, users can take a picture with the camera or pick one from the library and email it as an attachment. I use the MFMailComposeViewController for seamless email. On my iPhone 3GS, it takes about 5-7 seconds for the email view to appear with the attachment. Now I want to show a progress indicator view when the user pushes the "Send" button and hide that view when the email view comes up. The problem is that the MFMailComposeViewController delegate only calls when the email sending is done. Can I get notified somehow when the email window appears on the screen?

FlowDocument contents as text

What is the best way to get back the XAML/XML value of a FlowDocument? I noticed there isn't a .Value, .Text, .Caption, .ToXml(), etc... UDPATE: I'd like to be able to get access to it initially to serialize to disk or database. Treat it as its own document format. Later translating it to other formats would be nice. Also been wondering: Any equivalent to a hyperlink (opens in new browser window) in a FlowDocument? Any workaround?

Can't disable jQuery cache

Update I figured out that it must be caching problem but I can't turn cache off. Why is WPFToolkit DataGrid so slow when binding?

I have a very simple test application where I have two objects, each with a small collection of items. when I select an object I display its collection in a WPFToolkit DataGrid. The problem is there is a noticeable delay, such that if you press up/down keys to toggle selection between objects you can see it can't keep up. Dialogs (Real ones)

Having tried a number of different solutions I keep coming back to this. I need a Window.ShowDialog, using the ViewModelLocator class as a factory via a UnityContainer. Basically I have a View(and ViewModel) which on a button press on the the view needs to create a dialog (taking a couple of parameters in its constructor) that will process some logic and eventally return a result to the caller (along with the results of all the logic it computed). Maybe I'm wrong for stilll looking at this from a Windows Forms perspective, but I know exactly what I want to do and I want to ideally do it using WPF and MVVM. I'm trying to make this work for a project, and ultimately don't want to have to go back to vanilla WPF in order to make it work.

How to get Webkit Browser DBus Bridge working?

I've been struggling to get the Browser Dbus Binding working for Webkit/GTK (http://gitorious.org/webkitgtk/stable) port. I have been able to successfully compile the Webkit/GTK port as well as the DBus binding library on my Ubuntu Lucid Beta. I also installed the DBus binding library at the standard location /usr/local/lib. But now when I launch the Webkit/GTK browser and try to run one of the sample html files that are provided with DBus binding source, I get "Browser D-Bus Bridge not available, cannot run tests." Basically, JavaScript cannot find window.dbus object. Can anyone tell me what needs to be done here?

Elusive race condition in Java

I am creating a graphing calculator. In an attempt to squeeze some more performance out of it, I added some multithreaded to the line calculator. Essentially what my current implementation does is construct a thread-safe Queue of X values, then start however many threads it needs, each one calculating a point on the line using the queue to get its values, and then ordering the points using a HashMap when the calculations are done. This implementation works great, and that's not where my race condition is (merely some background info). In examining the performance results from this, I found that the HashMap is a performance bottleneck, since I do that synchronously on one thread. So I figured that ordering each point as its calculated would work best. I tried a PriorityQueue, but that was slower than the HashMap. I ended up creating an algorithm that essentially works like this: I construct a list of X values to calculate, like in my current algorithm. I then copy that list of values into another class, unimaginatively and temporarily named BlockingList, which is responsible for ordering the points as they are calculated. BlockingList contains a put() method, which takes in two BigDecimals as parameters, the first the X value, the second the calculated Y value. put() will only accept a value if the X value is the next one on the list to be accepted in the list of X values, and will block until another thread gives it the next excepted value. For example, since that can be confusing, say I have two threads, Thread-1 and Thread-2. Thread-2 gets the X value 10.0 from the values queue, and Thread-1 gets 9.0. However, Thread-1 completes its calculations first, and calls put() before Thread-2 does. Because BlockingList is expecting to get 10.0 first, and not 9.0, it will block on Thread-1 until Thread-2 finishes and calls put(). Once Thread-2 gives BlockingList 10.0, it notify()s all waiting threads, and expects 9.0 next. This continues until BlockingList gets all of its expected values. If I run it without any System.out.printlns, it will sometimes lock because of conflicting wait() and notifyAll()s, but if I put a println in, it will run great. .NET COM Interop with references to other libraries

Hello,I'm up against a problem when loading a class in a managed library from a COM Interop library. basically I have some Unmanaged C++ code and a COM Interop library written in C#. And finally a 3rd library which is referenced by the COM Interop library which contains a class: public class MyClass{ public MyClass(){} } What I'd like to do is from my unmanaged c++ code, call a function in the Interop library The C++ code doesn't need to know of the existence of the third library, it's only used within the Interop. Init(){ MyClass _class = new MyClass(); } for some reason this line in Init fails "MyClass _class = new MyClass();", and I don't get very usefull error messages, all I have to go on is a few of these in my output window: "First-chance exception at 0x7c812afb in DotNet_Com_Call.exe: Microsoft C++ exception: [rethrow] at memory location 0x00000000.." and the HRESULT of the "HRESULT hr = pDotNetCOMPtr-Init();" line in my C++ code is "The system cannot find the specified file" I'm new to COM so if anyone has any ideas or pointer to get me going the right direction, I'd appreciate it, Thanks

Firefox-Addon: Restart and save all current tabs and windows

Hello guys / gals, First off, this is my first attempt at writing an add-on. That being said, I am attempting to write an add-on that makes some configuration changes and needs to restart Firefox in order to have the changes take effect. I am currently restarting Firefox using the following code: var boot = Components.classes["@mozilla.org/toolkit/app-startup;1"].getService(Components.interfaces.nsIAppStartup); boot.quit(Components.interfaces.nsIAppStartup.eForceQuit|Components.interfaces.nsIAppStartup.eRestart); The problem is, it restarts and opens the browser window(s) to whatever the users homepage is currently set to. I want it to re-open all windows / tabs that were previously open before the restart (similar to what happens when you install a new add-on). Anyone ever messed with this type of functionality before?

Redirecting stdin through a FIFO

I'm running a server app (written in Java) under GNU/Linux which takes input (from stdin, I guess) and interprets it to run some commands. I dont want to run the app inside a terminal window (I'd like to run a daemon), but I'd still like to be able to input commands whenever I want to. I thought I might be able to do that using fifos, so I created it using mknod. The problem is cat fifofile java... and cat fifofile | java ... fail with a "file not found" error for some reason. Using only cat to read and write and the fifo works flawlessly. Is there any way to fix this, or any other way to achieve the same goal?

Running Jetty under Windows Azure Using RoleEntryPoint in a Worker Role

This post is built upon the work of Mario Kosmiskas and David C. Chou’s prior postings – from here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mariok/archive/2011/01/05/deploying-java-applications-in-azure.aspx http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dachou/archive/2010/03/21/run-java-with-jetty-in-windows-azure.aspx As Mario points out in his post, when you need to have more control over the process that starts, it generally is better left to a RoleEntryPoint capability that as of now, requires the use of a CLR based assembly that is deployed as part of the package to Azure. There were things I liked especially about Mario’s post – specifically, the ability to pull down the JRE and Jetty runtimes at role startup and instantiate the process using the extracted bits. The way Mario initialized the java process (and Jetty) was to take advantage of a role startup task configured as part of the service definition. This is a great quick way to kick off processes or tasks prior to your role entry point. However, if you need access to service configuration values or role events, that’s where RoleEntryPoint comes in. For this PoC sample I moved the logic for retrieving the bits for the jre and jetty to the worker roles OnStart – in addition to moving the process kickoff to the OnStart method. The Run method at this point is there to loop and just report the status of the java process. Beyond just making things more parameterized, both Mario’s and David’s articles still form the essence of the approach. The solution that accompanies this post provides all the necessary .NET based Visual Studio project. In addition, you’ll need: 1. Jetty 7 runtime http://www.eclipse.org/jetty/downloads.php 2. JRE http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html Once you have these the first step is to create archives (zips) of the distributions. For this PoC, the structure of the archive requires that the root of the archive looks as follows: JRE6.zip jetty---.zip Upload the contents to a storage container (block blob), and for this example I used /archives as the location. The service configuration has several settings that allow, which is the advantage of using RoleEntryPoint, the ability to provide these things via native configuration support from Azure in a worker role. Storage Explorer You can use development storage for testing this out – the zipped version of the solution is configured for development storage. At that time the code will do a dynamic pull of the 2 archives and extract – using the Sharp Zip Lib <link> as Mario had demonstrated in his sample. The only different here is the use of CLR code vs. PowerShell (which is really CLR, but that’s another discussion). At this point, once the 2 zips are extracted, the Role’s file system looks as follows: Worker Role approot From there, the OnStart method (which also does the download and unzip using a simple StorageHelper class) kicks off the Java path and now you have Java! Task Manager Jetty Sample Page A couple of things I’m working on to enhance this is to extract the jre and jetty bits not to the appRoot but to a resource location defined as part of the service definition. issues with horizontal scrolling using jQuery.ScrollTo / jQuery.SerialScroll

Hi, I am trying to develop auto horizontal scrolling for our website using - jQuery.ScrollTo / jQuery.SerialScroll. I am not sure if this is the best jquery library to do that, but if there's something better, please let me know. Here's the behavior that I want, check out foursquare's "Recent Activity" list. The data that will refresh will come from a ajax request that I make every few seconds using window.setInterval. I am not really a CSS/java script guy so I havent been able to figure out jQuery.SerialScroll. Here's the website - look at the "Live job Feeds" list. Currently the list does refresh the data coming from the ajax call, but I dont see the effect, the animation, in fact I dont even think serialScroll is being used. Right now I am doing a - $('#feed-ticker').prepend(content) to pre-append the newly arrived data. You can do a view source to look at the current code. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

ISA Web Farm and WCF service hosted in a Windows Service with basicHttpBinding

I have created a WCF service that needs to be hosted in a Window Service because it is participating in a P2P mesh (NetPeerTcpBinding). When I tried to host the WCF Service with NetPeerTcpBinding endpoints in the IIS Service container the service wouldn't run because it turns out that the P2P binding doesn't work in IIS. I have exposed a HTTP endpoint from the WCF service hosted in a Windows Service container and I want to know if there is a way to create an ISA Web Farm that will route traffic to http endpoints on two machines each running the same WCF service in a Windows Service container.

How do I replace a modal view controller?

I'm using a modal view controller to allow a user to select an address book entry and email address. The ABPeoplePickerNavigationController object is displayed via presentModalViewController:animated: [self presentModalViewController:picker animated:YES]; What I want to do is keep the modal dialog up, but when the user selects the email address, it should cross-fade to a different controller that displays a message composition window. I've tried various approaches in peoplePickerNavigationController:shouldContinueAfterSelectingPerson:property:identifier: to dismiss the picker and set my custom composition controller as the modal view. I can do it any number of ways, but never does it fade smoothly from the picker to the composition controller -- unless I make the composition controller a modal dialog of the picker, in which case the picker re-appears when I dismiss the composition controller. I don't want that, either. There must be some way to smoothly replace one controller and its view with another controller and its view, all within the context of a modal dialog, and preferably with a cross fade. Suggestions greatly appreciated.

Listview navigation behaviour in an xbap versus a standalone app

Hello, I have an wpf application which contains a listview. When the application runs as a standalone I can navigate through the list with the arrow up and the arrow down keys on the keyboard. When the application is deployed as an XBAP and runs in a browser window I can do this too but when I for example reach the top element and press the up arrow key one more time the focus jumps to the url bar in the browser. Does anyone know if there’s an easy way to prevent this? Thanks.
