• How to get table cells evenly spaced?

  I'm trying to create a page with a number of static html tables on them. What do I need to do to get them to display each column the same size as each other column in the table? However, it doesnt always work for the same query. Looking at the raw xml I can see the namespaces change, e.g. sometimes ns2="http://www.intuit.com/sb/cdm/qbo" (works) and other times ns2 = "http://www.intuit.com/sb/cdm/v2" (doesnt work). I thought by using the namespaces array I could handle that issue but its not working. • The HTML5 doctype is not triggering standards mode in IE8

  i work for a company where all our sites currently use the XHTML 1.0 transitional doctype (yes i know it is very old school). I want to change them all to use the HTML5 doctype seeing as it is backwards compatible. One of the reasons why i want to make the switch is because in IE8 if someone has the developer tools installed then the old XHTML doctype switches the browser into compatibility mode and renders the page as IE7. From reading up on it i was led to believe that the HTML5 doctype will set any page to render in standards mode, but this is not happening when i test it on our staging server it still flips into IE7 rendering mode. The weird thing is if i save the page with HTML5 doctype locally and open it, it is rendering in IE8 standards mode. There must be something else causing it to drop into compatibility IE7 rendering. Any ideas what this could be? • PHP curl post to login to wordpress

  I followed http://stackoverflow.com/questions/724107 to login to wordpress, using php_curl, and it works fine as far I use WAMP, (apache/php). But when it comes to IIS on the dedicated server, it returns nothing. I have wrote the following function which is working fine on my local wamp, but when deployed to client's dedicated windows server 2k3, it doesn't. The posting process has 3 steps. 1. enter a URL, submit and get to the 2nd step with some fields already completed 2. submit again, after you entered some more data and preview the form. 3. submit the final data. • Encode audio to aac with libavcodec

  I'm using libavcodec (latest git as of 3/3/10) to encode raw pcm to aac (libfaac support enabled). I do this by calling avcodec_encode_audio repeatedly with codec_context-frame_size samples each time. The first four calls return successfully, but the fifth call never returns. When I use gdb to break, the stack is corrupt. If I use audacity to export the pcm data to a .wav file, then I can use command-line ffmpeg to convert to aac without any issues, so I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong. I've written a small test program that duplicates my problem. • ObjectContext.SaveChanges() fails with SQL CE

  I am creating a model-first Entity Framework 4 app that uses SQL CE as its data store. All is well until I call ObjectContext.SaveChanges() to save changes to the entities in the model. • How to resolve CGDirectDisplayID changing issues on newer multi-GPU Apple laptops in Core Foundation

  In Mac OS X, every display gets a unique CGDirectDisplayID number assigned to it. You can use CGGetActiveDisplayList() or [NSScreen screens] to access them, among others. Per Apple's docs: A display ID can persist across processes and system reboot, and typically remains constant as long as certain display parameters do not change. On newer mid-2010 MacBook Pro's, Apple started using auto-switching Intel/nVidia graphics. Laptops have two GPU's, a low-powered Intel, and a high-powered nVidia. Previous dual-GPU laptops (2009 models) didn't have auto-GPU switching, and required the user to make a settings change, logoff, and then logon again to make a GPU switch occur. Even older systems only had one GPU. There's an issue with the mid-2010 models where CGDirectDisplayID's don't remain the same when a display switches from one GPU to the next. For example: Laptop powers on. Built-In LCD Screen is driven by Intel chipset. Display ID: 30002 External Display is plugged in. Built-In LCD Screen switches to nVidia chipset. It's display ID changes: 30004 External Display is driven by nVidia chipset. ...at this point, the Intel chipset is dormant... User unplugs External Display. Built-In LCD Screen switches back to Intel chipset. It's display ID changes back to original: 30002 My question is, how can I match an old display ID to a new display ID when they alter due to a GPU change? Thought about: I've noticed that the display ID only changes by 2, but I don't have enough test Mac's available to determine if this is common to all new MacBook Pro's, or just mine. Kind of a kludge if "just check for display ID's which are +/-2 from one another" works, anyway. Tried: CGDisplayRegisterReconfigurationCallback(), which notifies before-and-after when displays are going to change, has no matching logic.   Hello, I am trying to get the base64 content of a MimePart in a MimeMultiPart, but I'm struggling with the Javamail package. I simply want the base64 encoded String of a certain inline image, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do this though. This is fairly frustrating for me, since all I want is a piece of the text that I'm already printing, but I'd rather not have to search through the mime string myself for the correct part, introducing all kinds of bugs.So I'd really prefer to use the Javamail library but could use some help on how to actually get that correct mime string.

• news feed using .Net Dataservices / OData / Atom ?

  Let's say I have an web CMS type application, and an EDM model with an entity called 'article', and I need to offer the ability for client applications, to a read/query the articles (and other resources stored in our database) a straightforward syndication feed of these articles to end users (along the lines of a simple RSS feed) It seems to me that for the first task, and .net 4's dataservice would be perfect for the job. For the second case, I'm wondering (a) whether atom the right format to choose - I think it is - and (b) whether it's possible to achieve such a feed using the same ado.net OData service. So I suppose my question is; Is there a way to make the ado.net dataservice Atom feed look like something suitable for your average news feed reader? - OR, am I using the wrong tool for the wrong purposes, and should I be looking elsewhere (.net syndication API's perhaps)?

  Hi, Its been a couple of weeks that some sites just keeps on hanging. e.g. Facebooks = static.ak.fbcdn.net FLicker = l.yimg.com GoogleAnalytics I've googled and found many problems like this and some answers which are outdated or just doesn't solve the problem. I did: Cookies clearing, ran cc cleaner and several other nifty methods. None solved my problem?? Only with facebook, if I enter https:// manually instead of http:// on every url on facebook, it works and when it does the redirection to http://, everytime I have to type 's' on the address bar to make it https:// It is driving me nuts coz I'm developing Facebook App and this problem in being pain in my ass. What might be the reason for these CDNs hanging behaviour?? • fetching rss feed, mktime problem (wordpress plugin)

  sorry for the weird question but actually I'm not sure how to ask this. the code works fine but the problem is the following. I fetch items from feeds and compare them to a specific date which is stored into the database as an option. • jQuery $.ajax response empty, but only in Chrome

  I've exhausted every avenue of research to solve this one so hopefully someone else will think of something I just didn't. Relatively straight forward setup, I have a html page with some javascript that makes an ajax request to a URL (in the same domain) the java web app in the background does its stuff and returns a partial html page (no html, head or body tags, just the content) which should be inserted at a particular point in the page. All sounds pretty easy and the code I have works in IE, Firefox and Safari, but not in Chrome. In Chrome the target element just ends up empty and if I look at the resource request in Chromes developer tools the response content is also empty. All very confusing, I've tried a myriad of things to solve it and I'm just out of ideas. • curl FTPS with client certificate to a vsftpd

  I'd like to authenticate FTP clients either via username+password or a client certificate. Only FTPS is allowed. User/password works, but while testing with curl (I don't have another option) and a client certificate, I need to pass a user. • Unable to install PHP-FPM on Apache (Failed to connect to FastCGI server)

  I have been having problem installing php-fpm for use with apache2-mpm-worker. This is the guide that I am following. According to the guide's Step 5, Alias /php5-fcgi /usr/lib/cgi-bin/php5-fcgi FastCgiExternalServer /usr/lib/cgi-bin/php5-fcgi -host 127.0.0.1:9000 -pass-header Authorization However I cannot find php5-fcgi at /usr/lib, but only /usr/bin/php5-cgi and /usr/bin/php-cgi, which I am not sure if they are the same. • 4in6 tunneling (via OpenVPN?)

  I have a local network with internet access. But unfortunately IPv4 internet connection speed is limited to 1mbps, which is realy sad. Fortunately I have a native IPv6, and there is no connection speed limit over IPv6. So, in order to get a good internet connection I made a plan: connect to the VPN-service over IPv6, and pass all IPv4 traffic through IPv6 tunnel, or something like that, I think you get the idea. I suggested to use service like HideMyAss.com, but unfortunately they don't support IPv6. The question is: Is there any existing VPN service that will make my dreams come true, and is easy to use, which I could connect over PPTP or OpenVPN (I want to set up connection to VPN in my router settings). Edit: It seems like there are couple of VPN services that supports IPv6 (it's odd, but the biggest VPN services support only IPv4), and there is none providing 4in6 tunnels. So, I came to the following solution: rent a VPS with IPv6 address, and manually setup 4in6 tunnel. I'm not good at networking, never did things like that, and don't know where to start, and what should I do. The use case, as I undestand, should look like this: I connect from my home computer to the VPS via OpenVPN, and after that all my IPv4 traffic pass through IPv6 (server do the job). OpenVPN - because I want to configure VPN connection to server in my router (Asus RT-N16?). How can I achieve this?

• IP address spoofing using Source Routing

  With IP options we can specify the route we want an IP packet to take while connecting to a server. If we know that a particular server provides some extra functionality based on the IP address can we not utilize this by spoofing an IP packet so that the source IP address is the privileged IP address and one of the hosts on the Source Routing is our own. So if the privileged IP address is x1 and server IP address is x2 and my own IP address is x3. I send a packet from x1 to x2 which is supposed to pass through x3. x1 does not actually send the packet. It is just that x2 thinks the packet came from x1 via x3. Now in response if x2 uses the same routing policy (as a matter of courtesy to x1) then all packets would be received by x3. Will the destination typically use the same IP address sequences as specified in the routing header so that packets coming from the server pass through my IP where I can get the required information? Can we not spoof a TCP connection in the above case? Is this attack used in practice?
