• Deploying Django at Dreamhost

  I'm trying to get the Poll tutorial working at my Dreamhost account (I don't have any prior experience of deploying Django). I downloaded the script I found here (http://gabrielfalcao.com/2008/12/02/hosting-and-deploying-django-apps-on-dreamhost/) at my home directory and executed it. • AnkhSVN Commits Are Very Slow

  Recently, I had to move my SVN repositories to a different server, but I am experiencing some performance problems since the move. I am using Visual Studio 2005, AnkhSVN 2.1.7819.411 and TortoiseSVN 1.6.6 on my workstation and VisualSVN Server on the server which runs Windows Server 2008. Whenever I try to commit a file or view the file history in Visual Studio it takes twenty odd seconds. I confirmed that an exception has been made for VisualSVN Server on the server's firewall, but when I disable the server's firewall the performance is back to normal (1-2 seconds for a commit). When I do a commit or check the log on a file in TortoiseSVN the performance is fine as well. To ensure that the problem was not related to the moving of the repositories, I am running these tests against a new repository which was created on the new server. So, I reckon the problem lies with AnkhSVN, but am at a loss as how to diagnose it further. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• SSAS/SSRS remove parameter from cube report destroys report

  Group, We built a data cube using SSAS and are now building SSRS reports off of that cube. Not sure if anyone has come across this, but when you build the report using the wizard and include parameters all looks fine. However if you are in the report after the wizard is compete, and you decide you want to remove one of the parameters you created it debunks the report and the only way to get it back is to re-create the whole report. Any way you can remove or add parameters after the initial build without destroying your report? Thanks in advance for the help! I love this forumn!

  Hi, I have the following scenario Web server A: public on the internet, IIRF (current version) installed Web server B: on the intranet, visible to A, my APS.NET web app is installed on, name is pgdbtest3 I configure IIRF so that any request targetting directory /MMS/ on server A is redirected to the corresponding one http://pgdbtest3/MMS/. The ini file look like: StatusUrl /iirfStatus RemoteOk RedirectRule ^/MMS$ /MMS/ [I] ProxyPass ^/MMS/(.*)$ http://pgdbtest3/MMS/$1 [I] It is working fine except that any post back causes an error (404 is returned). I have tried many solutions including the removal of the action attribute from the form but with no luck. Please help!

• PropertyGrid: Merging multiple dynamic properties when editing multiple objects

  Hi, Let's say I have a class A and a class B. I would like to edit using .NET PropertyGrid multiple instances of A and B simultaneously. The desired behavior would be to have the intersection of properties displayed. If A and B have static (written in the source code) properties everything works fine. Selecting A and B instances will only display the intersection of properties. However, if A and B also have dynamic properties (returned as a PropertyDescriptorCollection through the GetProperties() method) the behavior is wrong. When selecting multiple objects I will only see those static properties and none of the dynamic ones. When I select only one instance I can see all properties (static and dynamic). Anybody any ideas? I couldn't find anything on the internet.

• Displaytag caption not working

  I am using displaytag to render data, I have it working without any issues. As soon as I use display:caption I get JSP compilation error with the below message. Am I missing anything? • How do you get credentials (NetworkCredential) of currently logged in user ?

  Hi, I'm writing some code to utilise a 3rd party component, and I need to supply an object which implements ICredentials when I start to use it. If I write the following... var credential = new NetworkCredential("MyUsername", "MyPassword"); ...and pass "credential", it's fine. But I would like to pass the credentials of the current user (it's a Windows service, so runs as a specified user). I have tried both of the following, but neither appear to work (or return anything): NetworkCredential credential = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials; NetworkCredential credential = CredentialCache.DefaultNetworkCredentials; Can anyone suggest how to acquire an approriate object, which represents the credentials of the username that the service is running under ? • RadGrid cannot pass sortExpression to ObjectDataSourceControl

  I have a Telerik RadGrid that bound to a datasource object. They are configured to support custom paging, sorting. For paging, only the data of a page is retrieved from the database. Before sorting, it works fine. The select method of the datasource is like public List<xxx> Select(string sortExpression, int maximumRows, int startRowIndex) {} Before sorting the sortExpression is empty, which is expected. But after use click sort, in the OnSortCommand event handler of Radgrid, the SortExpression is correct, indicating RadGrid has caputre user's sorting correctly. protected void OnSort(object source, GridSortCommandEventArgs e) { Console.WriteLine(e.SortExpression); // correct } But what is strange is that the RadGrid does not pass parameter to DataSource correctly this time. sortExpression is still empty, maximumRows became int.Max, and startRowIndex is 0. The the sorting in still render correctly, but grid ask datasource to get all data and do the sorting locally. Is this bug of RadGrid or my configuration is wrong?

• WPF Animation on scrollviewer children clipped by scrollviewer

  Hey folks, I'm hoping I have a fairly simple problem that can be fixed easily as it seems like I'm just missing something basic from the WPF world. I have a scrollviewer wrapping a stackpanel which contains several images, these images have animations to increasing in size when the mouse passes over them. All works fine without the scrollviewer, now I've added the scrollviewer, the animation works but only inside the scrollviewer; the increasing size isn't being allowed to overlap the scrollviewer. • open_basedir vs sessions

  On a virtual hosting server I have the open_basedir set to .:/path/to/vhost/web:/tmp:/usr/share/pear for each virtual host. I have a client who's running WordPress and he's complaining about open_basedir errors thus: PHP WARNING: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/var/lib/php/session/sess_42k7jn3vjenj43g3njorrnrmf2) is not within the allowed path(s): (.:/path/to/vhost/web:/tmp:/usr/share/pear) So the PHP session save_path isn't included in open_basedir but sessions across all sites on the server seems to be working fine apart from in this intermittent instance. I thought that perhaps the default session handler ignored open_basedir and this warning was caused by WP accessing the session file directly. However from what I can see PHP 5.2.4 introduced open_basedir checking to the session.save_path config: http://www.php.net/ChangeLog-5.php#5.2.4 (I am on PHP 5.2.13). Any ideas?

[WebGet] MyClass[] WebMethod() If the signiature looks like this [WebGet] IEnumerable<T> WebMethod() I get the following error: Cannot serialize parameter of type 'X.Y.Z.T+<WebMethod>d__2c' (for operation 'WebMethod', contract 'IService') because it is not the exact type 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable`1[X.Y.Z.T]' in the method signature and is not in the known types collection. In order to serialize the parameter, add the type to the known types collection for the operation using ServiceKnownTypeAttribute. I have tried adding. ServiceKnownType(typeof(IEnumerable)) Same error. Is this a bug in 2010 beta 2, or is this likely to be correct going forward? Thanks

• Servlet stops working on Tomcat server after some hits or time

  I have a very strange issue with some of my servlets. Below is my configuration: Folder A has X number of servlets deployed in Tomcat directory Folder B has Y number of servlets deployed in Tomcat directory After certain amount of time or hits to any of the servlets in Folder B, it stops working properly, whereas at same time all servlets of Folder A works fine. I am not able to trace where I am doing mistake. All coding for both folder's servlets is the same, the only difference is they are interacting with different DB's, but it is very simple read only operation with DB though. Any ideas?

• UITableView section header and section footer not updating (redraw problem)

  I have a UITableView grouped style with custom header and footer view. Inside the footer I put a UILabel and a UIButton. Clicking on the button hides or show some rows, updates the UILabel in the footer view and finally resizes footer view. Basically everything is working fine. BUT the text ion the label is not updated on the screen. It is updated in the UILabel text property, but only if I scroll the section footer out of the visible area and scroll it back, it is updated. So it's a typical redraw problem here of the UITableView. I tried every method to force update like needsLayout etc. Nothing helped. I have seen some related questions but with some different behaviour and no solution. Any help/ideas? Thanks, Gerd

  Hi, I'm trying to use Dojo dnd Source(1.4.2) to create an interface where I can move some objects from a Source to a Target. It is working fine, but I want to change the behaviour in order to execute a check before actually doing the D&D, so if the check fails, an error message is shown to the user, and the D&D is not made. I've tried the following example I found in a blog: dojo.subscribe("/dnd/drop", function(source,nodes,iscopy) { if (nodes[0].id == 'docs_menu'){ dojo.publish("/dnd/cancel"); dojo.dnd.manager().stopDrag(); alert("Drop is not permitted"); } } ); But it fails saying that this.avatar is null.   Hi I am trying to install SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition x64 on a Windows Server 2008 VM. I run the installer for a standalone installation and this works fine for the setup support rules bit. That passes ok but then I get this error: TITLE: SQL Server Setup failure. SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error: Invoke or BeginInvoke cannot be called on a control until the window handle has been created.. BUTTONS: OK How can I resolve this? I am getting 2008 R2 CTP but this is just a CTP. My download is from DreamSpark. Thanks

• Iphone: UIWebview and double taps

  I would like to trap a double tap event in a UIWebView. I have derived a class from UIWebController. When I double tap it seams that the UIWebController itself is responding to my double taps instead of my class. The weird thing is that when I change the inheritance to inherit from UIView everything works just fine. Below are snippets from my code which is supposed to invoke a pop-up when double tapped. • How to specify behavior of Java BufferedImage resize: need min for pixel rows instead of averaging

  I would like to resize a Java BufferedImage, making it smaller vertically but without using any type of averaging, so that if a pixel-row is "blank" (white) in the source image, there will be a white pixel-row in the corresponding position of the destination image: the "min" operation. The default algorithms (specified in getScaledInstance) do not allow me a fine-grained enough control. I would like to implement the following logic: for each pixel row in the w-pixels wide destination image, d = pixel[w] find the corresponding j pixel rows of the source image, s[][] = pixel[j][w] write the new line of pixels, so that d[i] = min(s[j][i]) over all j, i I have been reading on RescaleOp, but have not figured out how to implement this functionality -- it is admittedly a weird type of scaling. Can anyone provide me pointers on how to do this? In the worse case, I figure I can just reserve the destination ImageBuffer and copy the pixels following the pseudocode, but I was wondering if there is better way.

  I'm trying to access Gmail by using three-legged Oauth PHP code provided by Google ('google-mail-xoauth-tools') here: http://code.google.com/apis/gmail/oauth/code.html. • 503 (Server Unavailable) WebException when loading local XHTML file in Visual C# 2008

So I'm currently working on an ePub reader application, and I've been reading through a bunch of regular XML files just fine with System.Xml and XmlDocument: XmlDocument xmldoc = new XmlDocument(); xmldoc.Load(Path.Combine(Directory.GetCurrentDirectory(), "META-INF/container.xml")); XmlNodeList xnl = xmldoc.GetElementsByTagName("rootfile"); However, now I'm trying to open the XHTML files that contain the actual book text, and they're XHTML files. Now I don't really know the difference between the two, but I'm getting the following error with this code (in the same document, using the same XmlDocument and XmlNodeList variable) xmldoc.Load(Path.Combine(Directory.GetCurrentDirectory(), "OEBPS/part1.xhtml")); "WebException was unhandled: The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable" It's a local document, so I'm not understanding why it's giving this error? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :) I've got the full source code here if it helps: http://drop.io/epubtest (I know the ePubConstructor.ParseDocument() method is horribly messy, I'm just trying to get it working at the moment before I split it into classes)

• Team Build MSBuild Task Does Not Update Main Build Log File

  I have an after build event in my main TFSBuild.proj file that uses the MSBuild task to call a deployment task after a successful build. It looks like this: <ItemGroup> <DeploymentTargets Include="..\Sources\Build\SkunkWorks.Build.Deployment.targets"> <Properties></Properties> </DeploymentTargets> </ItemGroup> <Target Name="AfterBuild"> <Message Text="Executing Deployment"/> <MSBuild Projects="@(DeploymentTargets)" Properties="PickUpLocation='@(DropLocation)'" ContinueOnError="false"/> </Target> This works fine and the deployment script is called as you would expect. The problem is that any errors or messages produced by executing the MSBuild are not written to the BuildLog.txt or ErrorsAndWarnings.txt files that are placed in the drop location after a successful build. Is there an easy way to capture this information?

• JQuery live event binding prevents additional callbacks

  Hey! I was building an AJAX listing of elements in my site, with the ability to delete them (also via AJAX). The following piece of code handles the deletion: $('ul.action-menu a.delete').live('click', function () { $.post($(this).attr('href'), function (data) { var recvData = eval( '(' + data + ')' ); if ((recvData.status == 1) && (recvData.delId)) { $('#alert-' + recvData.delId).fadeOut(); } else { alert(recvData.message); } }); return false; }); This works just fine. The problem is that, for elements that were not there when the page was loaded (i.e. that were added dynamically), the post callback does not get executed and it doesn't fade out after being deleted (the AJAX call is being made, it just doesn't execute the callback).
