• Hudson + Jboss AS 7.1 + Maven 3 Project Build Error

  I've wanted to prepare an environment that I'm able to build my project and run my tests on a integration server. So I've installed an Jboss application server 7.1 and deployed hudson.war to it. Then I've created a project to trigger "mvn clean install" and when I built it I've got following exception. So how can I configure the hudson to force it looking at the right place for jars? Is there anyone has an idea? Thanks in advance.

  Hi there Having real problems moving my app over to windows authentication. the sql error messages are to do with problems creating in the aspnetdb.mdf file. • IErrorHandler doesn't seem to be handling my errors in WCF .. any ideas?

  Have been readign around on IErrorHandler and want to go the config route. so, I have read the following in an attempt to implement it. MSDN Keyvan Nayyeri blog about the type defintion Rory Primrose Blog I have got it to compile and from the various errors i have fixed it seems like WCF is actually loading the error handler. My problem is that the exception that i am throwing to handle in the error handler doesn;t get the exception passed to it. My service implementation simply calls a method on another class that throws ArgumentOutOfRangeException - however this exception never gets handled by the handler. • Process spawned by exec-maven-plugin blocks the maven process

Later I found that there is a bug (or missing functionality?) in maven exec plugin, because of which the application process blocks the maven process. To address this issue, I have encapsulated the invocation of MyApp.java in a shell script and then appended “/dev/null 2&1 &” to spawn a separate background process. Here is the snip (this is just a snip and not the actual one) from runTest.sh: java - DMY_APP_HOME =$2 com.foo.MyApp > /dev/null 2>&1 & Although this solves my issue, is there any other way to do it? Am I missing any argument for exec-maven-plugin?

• developing maven plugin, how to exclude bitkeeper files

  Hi There, I am trying to write my first maven plugin. I'd like to exclude all the java files related to the source repository I'm using, which is BitKeeper. These files live in directories called SCCS. I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this. When I add the maven-compile-plugin with excludes data, it works (the bk files are excluded) if I specify mvn compiler:compile. But this is not binding to the compile phase. So that when I run mvn compile, it blows up trying to compile a source control specific java file. Any help or pointers appreciated. Another thing to note: Everything works perfectly if I change the packaging from "maven-plugin" to "jar", which of course, I can't do permanently since this is a maven plugin I am trying to write. I'm sorry if this is answered elsewhere. I've looked around for several hours here and through the maven docs, but everything on this topic seems to be related to writing code which will be packaged in jars, not maven plugins. • Delphi 5: Ideas for simulating "Obsolete" or "Deprecated" methods?

  i want to mark a method as obsolete, but Delphi 5 doesn't have such a feature. For the sake of an example, here is a made-up method with it's deprecated and new preferred form: procedure TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn; overload; //obsolete procedure TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn(UseProtection: Boolean); overload; Note: For this hypothetical example, we assume that using the parameterless version is just plain bad. There are problems with not "using protection" - which have no good solution. Nobody likes having to use protection, but nobody wants to not use protection. So we make the caller decide if they want to use protection or not when blowing Hodir's horn. If we default the parameterless version to continue not using protection: procedure TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn; begin BlowHodirsHorn(False); //No protection. Bad! end; then the developer is at risk of all kinds of nasty stuff. If we force the parameterless version to use protection: procedure TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn; begin BlowHodirsHorn(True); //Use protection; crash if there isn't any end; then there's a potential for problems if the developer didn't get any protection, or doesn't own any. Now i could rename the obsolete method: procedure TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn_Deprecatedd; overload; //obsolete procedure TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn(UseProtection: Boolean); overload; But that will cause a compile error, and people will bitch at me (and i really don't want to hear their whining). i want them to get a nag, rather than an actual error. i thought about adding an assertion: procedure TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn; //obsolete begin Assert(false, 'TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn is deprecated. Use BlowHodirsHorn(Boolean)'); ... end; But i cannot guarantee that the developer won't ship a version without assertions, causing a nasty crash for the customer. i thought about using only throwing an assertion if the developer is debugging: procedure TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn; //obsolete begin if DebugHook > 0 then Assert(false, 'TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn is deprecated. Use BlowHodirsHorn(Boolean)'); ... end; But i really don't want to be causing a crash at all. i thought of showing a MessageDlg if they're in the debugger (which is a technique i've done in the past): procedure TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn; //obsolete begin if DebugHook > 0 then MessageDlg('TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn is deprecated. Use BlowHodirsHorn(Boolean)', mtWarning, [mbOk], 0); ... end; but that is still too disruptive. And it has caused problems where the code is stuck at showing a modal dialog, but the dialog box wasn't obviously visible. i was hoping for some sort of warning message that will sit there nagging them - until they gouge their eyes out and finally change their code. i thought perhaps if i added an unused variable: procedure TStormPeaksQuest.BlowHodirsHorn; //obsolete var ThisMethodIsObsolete: Boolean; begin ... end; i was hoping this would cause a hint only if someone referenced the code. But Delphi shows a hint even if you don't call actually use the obsolete method. Can anyone think of anything else?

• Why does jquery leak memory so badly?

  This is kind of a follow-up to a question I posted last week: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2429056/simple-jquery-ajax-call-leaks-memory-in-ie I love the jquery syntax and all of its nice features, but I've been having trouble with a page that automatically updates table cells via ajax calls leaking memory. So I created two simple test pages for experimenting. Both pages do an ajax call every .1 seconds. After each successful ajax call, a counter is incremented and the DOM is updated. The script stops after 1000 cycles. One uses jquery for both the ajax call and to update the DOM. The other uses the Yahoo API for the ajax and does a document.getElementById(...).innerHTML to update the DOM. The jquery version leaks memory badly. Running in drip (on XP Home with IE7), it starts at 9MB and finishes at about 48MB, with memory growing linearly the whole time. If I comment out the line that updates the DOM, it still finishes at 32MB, suggesting that even simple DOM updates leak a significant amount of memory. The non-jquery version starts and finishes at about 9MB, regardless of whether it updates the DOM. Does anyone have a good explanation of what is causing jquery to leak so badly? Am I missing something obvious? Is there a circular reference that I'm not aware of? Or does jquery just have some serious memory issues? • Trying get dynamic content hole-punched through Magento's Full Page Cache

  I am using Magento Enterprise 1.10.1.1 and need to get some dynamic content on our product pages. I am inserting the current time in a block to quickly see if it is working, but can't seem to get through full page cache.   I am currently trying to compile with JAXB (IBM build 2.1.3) a pair of schema files into the same package. Each will compile on it's own, but when trying to compile them together i get a element naming conflict due to includes. My question is; is there a way to specify with an external binding a resolution to the naming collision. Example files follow. • Deleting unreferenced child records with nhibernate

  Hi There I am working on a mvc app using nhibernate as the orm (ncommon framework) I have parent/child entities: Product, Vendor & ProductVendors and a one to many relationship between them with Product having a ProductVendors collection Product.ProductVendors. I currently am retrieving a Product object and eager loading the children and sending these down the wire to my asp.net mvc client. A user will then modify the list of Vendors and post the updated Product back. I am using a custom model binder to generate the modified Product entity. I am able to update the Product fine and insert new ProductVendors. My problem is that dereferenced ProductVendors are not cascade deleted when specifying Product.ProductVendors.Clear() and calling _productRepository.Save(product). The problem seems to be with attaching the detached instance.   I am going nuts here trying to resolve a cascading update/delete issue :-) I have a Parent Entity with a collection Child Entities. If I modify the list of Child entities in a detached Parent object, adding, deleting etc - I am not seeing the updates cascaded correctly to the Child collection. I've tried changing the DOMDocument properties DOMDocument::$resolveExternals and DOMDocument::$substituteEntities values. None combinations worked. And yes, I know I can made all process without specifying the character set on DOMDocument constructor, dump string content into a variable and make a very simple string substitution with string replace functions. This works. But I would like to know where I am slipping, how can this be made using native API's and settings, or even if this is possible. Thanks in advance.

• Problem with NHibernate

  I am trying to get a list of Products that share the Category. NHibernate returns no product which is wrong. • using getScript to import plugin on page using multiple versions of jQuery

  I am developing an app on a page that uses jQuery 1.2.6, but I would like to use jQuery 1.4.2 for my app. I really don't like to use multiple versions of jQuery like this but the copy on the page (1.2.6) is something I have no control over. For a while, everything worked fine. However, I decided to want to use a jQuery plugin in a separate file. I tested it and it acted funny. After some experimentation, I found out that the plugin was using the old version of jQuery, when I wanted it to use the new version. Does anyone know how to import and run a js file from the context within the function wrapping the code in myStuff.js? In case this matters to anyone, here is how I know the plugin is using the old version, and what I did to try to solve the problem: I made a file called test.js, consisting of this line: alert($.fn.jquery); I tried referencing the file in a script tag the way external Javascript is usually included, below myStuff.js, and it came up as 1.2.6, like I expected. I then got rid of that script tag and put this line in myStuff.js: $.getScript("test.js"); and it still came back as 1.2.6. That wasn't a big surprise -- according to jQuery's documentation, scripts included that way are executed in the global context. I then tried doing this instead: var testFn = $.proxy($.getScript, this); testFn("test.js"); and it still came back as 1.2.6. After some tinkering, I found out that the "this" keyword referred to the window, which I assume means the global context. I am looking for something to put in place of "this" to refer to the context of the enclosing function, or some other way to make the code in the file run from the enclosing function. I noticed that if I copy and paste the code, it works fine, but it is a big plugin that is used in many places, and I would prefer not to clutter up my file with their code. I am out of ideas. Does anyone else know how to do this?

  Hi, we have an old, big asp.net application with nhibernate, which we are extending and upgrading some parts of it. NHibernate that was used was pretty old ( 1.0.2.0), so we decided to upgrade to ( 2.1.2) for the new features. HBM files are generated through custom template with MyGeneration. Everything went quite smoothly, except for one thing. Lets say we have to objects Blog and Post. Blog can have many posts, so Post will have many-to-one relationship. Due to the way that this application operates, relationship is done not through primary keys, but through Blog.Reference column. As i understand, in old version, for nhibernate it was enough to have Blog.Reference field, and it could retrieve entity by that field, and attach it to PostEntity, and when saving PostEntity, everything would work correctly. And as i understand, new NHibernate tries only to retrieve by Blog.Id. How to solve this? I cannot change DB design, nor can i assign an Id to BlogEntity, as objects are out of my control (they come prefilled as generic "ojbects" like this from external source)
