• Customizing an item's view in SharePoint Designer

  I've created a list called Newsletters (columns: Title, Date and News - a multi lookup to a News list), and a DataFormWebPart displaying an item from this list. Now I'm modifing the XSLT transformation to change the displayed view. At the moment an item is simply displayed with its Title, Date and News attributes, where News attribute is displayed as a list of News items titles - this is the default. Instead of the titles, I would like to also display these news' Content. The problem is that I have no idea how to get to these elements. The News attribute is being referred in xslt simply as <xsl:value-of select="@News"/> and I can't get to the elements that lie behind it. Any suggestions on how I can do it?

• Why does xdebug crash apache on every XAMPP install I've tried?

  I've installed the Windows XAMPP package on three separate computers, 2 running Windows Vista 32 bit ( 1 Ultimate / 1 Home Premium ) and 1 running Windows Vista 64 Home Premium. After enabling xdebug in php.ini and restarting apache, viewing the default XAMPP localhost index causes apache to crash in the same way every time, reporting 'php_xdebug.dll' as the Fault Module Name. • Ejabberd clustering problem with amazon EC2 server

  Hello Guys! I have been trying to install ejabberd server on Amazons EC2 instance. I am kinds a stuck at this step right now. I am following this guide: http://tdewolf.blogspot.com/2009/07/clustering-ejabberd-nodes-using-mnes... From the guide I have sucessfully completed the Set up First Node (on ejabberd1) part. But am stuck in part 4 of Set up Second Node (on ejabberd2) So all in all, I created the main node and am able to run the server on that node and access its admin console from then internet. In the second node I have installed ejabberd. But I am stuck at point 4 of setting up the node instruction presented in this blog (http://tdewolf.blogspot.com/2009/07/clustering-ejabberd-nodes-using-mnes...). In other words, without adding x:Class to the top of Generic.xaml and thus creating a code-behind file for it, which I assume you wouldn't want to do, how do you handle events for elements in your xaml that don't have a Command property (which is just about everything other than a Button)? Should LooklessControl have it's own XAML file (much like what you get when you create a new UserControl) associated with it that Generic.xaml just pulls in as a MergedDictionar as its default template? Or is there some other acknowledged way to do what I'm trying to do?

  I am trying to some-how set the valid HTML tags and attributes users would be able to use in WMD Editor in my site. For example, I want to forbid the user to directly set the font size, color, typeface and so on, which is trivial to do with the default settings typing something like: <span style="font-size: 45px; color:#FF0000">Some intrusive text here</span>. I think the way to implement this is through the "wmd_options", but I have not found any documentation or reference regarding this, giving the fact that the 'Options demo' seems to be the only public documentation and it does not show how should I do what I have described above. I've send this same question to [email protected] but didn't get any reply. As stackoverflow uses this editor someone reading this or maybe Jeff knows the answer ;) Thanks in advance!

• SqlServer2008 - Can I Alter a Scalar Function while it is referenced in many places

  We have a scalar function that returns a DateTime. It performs a couple of quick table selects to get its return value. This function is already in use throughout the database - in default constraints, stored procs, etc. I would like to change the implementation of the function (to remove the table hits and make it more efficient) but apparently I can't do that while it is referenced by other objects in the database. Will I actually need to update every object in the database that references it to remove the reference, update the function and then update all those objects to restore the reference to the function?   I have a question field with a list of allowed characters : A-Z,0-9,colon (:), question mark (?), comma(,), hyphen(-), apostrophe ('). I have the regex which works fine, in the fashion : $question->addValidator('regex', true, array(<regular expresstion>)) The default error message is something like ''' does not match against pattern '' I want to write a custom error message that says ' is not allowed in this field' Is there a simple way to do it using the existing zend components that I'm missing? Is writing a custom validator the only way to achieve what I'm trying to achieve? If yes, how do I write a custom validator (I looked at the documentation and didn't quite understand how I can customize the error messages) If there is any other way, I'd most appreciate that input too.   In the Delphi 2009 RAD Studio, there is a drop-down combo box where you can select the desktop configuration, i.e. "Default Layout", "Debug Layout, "Classic Undocked", etc. This has stopped working for me, i.e. when I select a desktop, nothing happens. I think I once "customized" the toolbar, by removing the drop-down combo box, and then I added it again, and ever since it has been dead. Is this a known bug? Is there a cure?

  I'm currently working on building a RESTful web api with ruby on rails. I haven't bothered putting a proper authentication scheme into the API yet as I'm ensuring that tests and the basic behavior of the API is working all locally first. Upon testing non-HTTP GET type requests such as HTTP POST/DELETE/PUT, stuff chokes because protect_from_forgery is on by default. How does this work when I'm working in practice since essentially the idea is in a RESTful API that there is no state. The client does not have a session or a cookie associated with the server. Each request is an atomic, self-executed request. The user will supply some credentials to ensure they are who they say they are, but other than that, does protect_from_forgery make sense at this point? Should it remain enabled?

One of the solution i got was to create SSIS package and run it from the UI. I want to know as how i can create SSIS Package to achieve this. I am new to SSIS. I am using SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition and Visual Studio 2008 SP1 installed. I learnt that BIDS 2005 is used to create packages which comes by default with SQL Server 2005. Can someone please give me a example as i am new to this.

• How do you get the footer to stay at the bottom of a Web page?

  I have a simple 2-column layout with a footer that clears both the right and left div in my markup. My problem is that I can't get the footer to stay at the bottom of the page in all browsers. It works if the content pushes the footer down, but that's not always the case. Update: It's not working properly in Firefox. I'm seeing a strip of background color below the footer when there's not enough content on the page to push the footer all the way down to the bottom of the browser window. Unfortunately, this is the default state of the page.

However, I also want to return Images that do not have any tags associated with them in a group of "(Untagged)" or something. I can't wrap my head around how I would do this without inserting a default tag for every image and that seems like generally not a very good solution.

The first: is to create a page in a library then create a C# library project to handle the events of the controls on the page. The second: is to define a feature of the content type of my list and specify the new item form to be my custom form, then create a website containing the custom form and put this site at the layouts folder. for me the first approach is fine but the problem is that a user may access the default sharepoint new item form which I don't want to happen. but I don't like the idea of placing the form in a library on the site. so which is better in your opinion ? thanks

"Mr. T"; // returns Mr. T anybody = somebody ?? "Mr. T"; // returns "Bob Saget" But what else can ?? be used for? It doesn't seem as useful as the ternary operator, apart from being more concise and easier to read than: nobody = null; anybody = nobody == null ? "Bob Saget" : nobody; // returns Bob Saget So given that fewer even know about null coalescing operator... Have you used ?? for something else? Is ?? necessary, or should you just use the ternary operator (that most are familiar with)

  I have a winform dashboard which hosts some WPF dialogs. When I select a row in the winform ListView and hit Enter key, OnItemActivate is called which launches a WPF dialog. However, the WPF dialog appears and then disappears immediately because the default button “cancel” is hit. It seems that the Enter key is triggered twice, one for launching the WPF dialog, the other for hitting cancel button. We don’t want the WPF dialog to be canceled by the Enter key hitting. According to the stack trace, it looks like that WPF and Winform handle the enter key separately. The WPF does not know that the enter key has been handled by the Winform ListView. Is this by design in Winform and WPF interop? To make the enter key not close the WPF dialog, we have to change the focus from the cancel button to another control (e.g. a textblock). Is there a better way to fix/around this issue?

  My reducer class produces outputs with TextOutputFormat (the default OutputFormat given by Job). I like to consume this outputs after the MapReduce job complete to aggregate the outputs. In addition to this, I like to write out the aggregated information with TextInputFormat so that the output from this process can be consumed by the next iteration of MapReduce task. Can anyone give me an example on how to write & read with TextFormat? By the way, the reason why I am using TextFormat, rather Sequence, is the interoperability. The outputs should be consumed by any software.

  Hello I have a web application, which is using a SQL Server 2005 database. My problem is, that the application has no role management. So the application always accesses the database with one default user. But now I have to save and access a value only for the current user. Is there any way to do this? Maybe something like a session on the web server? The best way would be, if there is any possibility to access the current session id of the web server from T-SQL. Do anyone understand my problem? :) Torben

  I'm trying to unzip a file, using DotNetZip Library. The file contains folders and files with danish characters (æøåÆØÅ). TotalCommander, 7Zip, Windows own zip all extract the files correctly, but DotNetZip Library mangles the danish characters. Ex: File_æøåÆØÅ.txt becomes File_æ¢åÆ¥Å.txt insted of aø it contains a ¢. insted of a Ø it contains a ¥. Code: using (var zipFile = ZipFile.Read(@"File_æøåÆØÅ.zip")) { zipFile.ExtractAll(@"File_æøåÆØÅ", ExtractExistingFileAction.OverwriteSilently); } I'm using the default encoding("da-DK" culture), I have tried other encodings like UTF8 etc. How can I unzip a file containing filenames with Danish characters?
