• XAML to HTML Conversion - WPF RichTextBox

  I have the problem where i have a WPF RichTextBox, and i'm extracting its XAML code and saving it to a txt file. When i copy paste the XAML code generated to a XAMLtoHTML converter like this http://blogs.msdn.com/wpfsdk/archive/2006/05/25/606317.aspx , some error must be occuring as i'm always getting a blank result! • Trouble getting NSString from NSDictionary key into UILabel

  I'm attempting to put the value associated with the key called "duration" into a UILabel but I'm getting a blank or "(null)" result showing up in the UILabel. My NSDictionary object with its keys seems to be logging as being full of the data and keys I think I want, as such: the content of thisRecordingsStats is { "12:48:25 AM, April 25" = { FILEPATH = "/Users/brian/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/3.1.3/Applications/97256A91-FC47-4353-AD01-15CD494060DD/Documents/12:48:25 AM, April 25.aif"; duration = "00:04"; applesCountString = 0; ...and so on. Here's the code where I'm trying to put the NSString into the UILabel: cell.durationLabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@",[thisRecordingsStats objectForKey:@"duration"]]; I've also tried these other permutations: cell.durationLabel.text = [thisRecordingsStats objectForKey:@"duration"]; and I've also tried this tag-based approach: label = (UILabel *)[cell viewWithTag:8]; label.text = [[thisRecordingsStats objectForKey:@"duration"] objectAtIndex:1]; and: UILabel *label; label = (UILabel *)[cell viewWithTag:8]; label.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@",[[thisRecordingsStats objectForKey:@"duration"] objectAtIndex:1]]; I've also tried creating a string from the key's paired value and see a "(null)" value or blankness using that too. What am I missing? I assume it's something with the formatting of the string. Thanks for looking!!

• Binding WPF menu items to WPF Tab Control Items collection

  I have a WPF Menu and a Tab control. I would like the list of menu items to be generated from the collection of TabItems on my tab control. I am binding my tab control to a collection to generate the TabItems. I have a TabItem style that uses a ContentPresenter to display the TabItem text in a TextBlock. When I bind the tab items to my menu the menu items are blank. I assume the menu items are looking for the Header property of the TabItems which I am not using. Is there a workaround for my scenario? Is it possible to bind to the Header property of the tab item, when I do not know the number of tabs in advance? Below is a copy of my xaml declarations. • Magento MAGMI: Product attributes (custom options) not showing up in import

  When importing a CSV into Magento with the MAGMI importing tool, I am unable to import Custom Options (as in size: smalee/medium/large). The import manages to put in the basic products, but the Custom Options don't transfer accross. By custom options I mean the fields Title, Input Type, Is Required, Sort Order Title, Price, Price Type, SKU, Sort Order Title, Price, Price Type, SKU, Sort Order Title, Price, Price Type, SKU, Sort Order and so on ... Found in the custom options menu... Even using the example CSV from the MAGMI SourceForge Wiki: sku,name,description,price,Size:drop_down:1 T-Shirt1,T-Shirt,A T-Shirt,5.00,Small|Medium|Large T-Shirt2,T-Shirt2,Another T-Shirt,6.00,XS|S|M|L|XL ...it fails to import the attributes. So i'm simply using MAGMI with the supplied example data from SourceForge on a blank magento product list, and it doesn't transfer properly. Can anyone shed any light on what might be wrong? I am using Magento ver. 1.6.1.0 if that changes anything. Thanks.

  I've started working on a Joomla! project (I'm mainly a C#/ASP.NET kind a guy). I'm using BreezingForms and have created forms, got them working, but now I need to do some additional code in the "Finalize Code" section. I need to access form elements via BreezingForms(FacileForms) API. Here's what I'm doing, but it chokes: $this->execPieceByName('ff_SubmitLib'); // Is this necessary? // load the standard Facile Forms library $this->execPieceByName('ff_InitLib'); // page breaks here. // get the name of the uploaded file $filename = ff_getSubmit('someUploadedFile'); Now I don't know what goes wrong. The page posts back blank. I'm not sure how to debug this in Joomla. I currently do not have access to the server to debug, so I would need to debug remotely at runtime (not ideal I know). My account is of type Administrator for the Joomla backend. As far as I know all the plugins/modules are installed. Any ideas?

• ASP.NET Session State Timeout Problem

  I am trying to detect a session state timeout in my asp.net application and am unable to do so. Also, all these pages have EnableSessionState="True". I have a blank Session_Start() method in my global.asax file if that is relevant at all. For some reason after the first request, the "Session.IsNewSession" property is always false. It is true only for the first request and then is always false. I have my timeout set to 1 minute. The session never seems to timeout. What am I missing here ? Thanks in advance.

• Cocos2D Director Pause/Resume Issue

  I am trying to play a .gif animation in cocos2D. For this i am using the library glgif. Now, to display the animation i am pausing the Director, adding a subview to show the animation and after the animation is done i am resuming the Director. However, I am not able to resume the state of the Director and it shows blank. So I tried this without pausing and resuming this Director and it still did not work.I also tried detaching the director before tha animation and adding it back afterwards and even that did not work. So is there a way to pause/suspend the Director in the application and properly restore is back? Thanks. • Android media thumbnails. Serious issues?

  I've been playing with android's thumbnails for a while now, and I've seen some inconsistencies that make me want to scream. My goal is to have a simple list of all Images (and a separate list for video) with the thumbnail and filename. Device: HTC Evo (fresh from Google I/o) First off: http://androidsamples.blogspot.com/2009/06/how-to-display-thumbnails-of-images.html That code doesn't seem to work at all, thumbnails are duplicated... some with the "mirror" effect and some without. Also some won't load and just display a black square. I've tried rebuilding the thumbnails by deleting the "alblum thumbs" directory from the SD card. HTC's gallery application seem to show everything fine. This approach seems to work: Bitmap thumb = MediaStore.Images.Thumbnails.getThumbnail( getContentResolver(), id, MediaStore.Video.Thumbnails.MICRO_KIND, null); imageView.setImageBitmap(curThumb); where id is the original images id and imageView is some image view. This is great! But, strangely, way too slow to be used inside a SimpleViewBinder. Next approach: String [] proj = {MediaStore.Images.Thumbnails._ID}; Cursor c = managedQuery(MediaStore.Images.Thumbnails.EXTERNAL_CONTENT_URI, proj, MediaStore.Images.Thumbnails.IMAGE_ID + "=" +id , null, null); if (c != null && c.moveToFirst()) { Uri thumb = Uri.withAppendedPath(mThumbUri,c.getLong(0)+""); imageView.setImageURI(thumb); } I should explain that I feel the needed WHERE condition is required because there doesn't seem to be any guarantee that your uri will have the same ID for both a thumbnail and its parent image. This works for all of the current images, but as soon as I start adding pictures with the camera they show up as blank! Debugging shows a dreaded: SkImageDecoder::Factory returned null error and the URI is returned as invalid. These are the same images that work with the previous call. Can anyone either catch my logical failure or point me to some working code?

• Cocoa Bindings and Application Preferences - Crash

  Using the document provided by Apple to create an application preferences window that doesn't require any extra code, I seem to have triggered a crash that cannot be traced by me. While the stuff from Apple is older, I believe I have the settings pretty much the same as shown here: When I run my application (Hcode) and go to the preferences menu item, it brings up the proper window with the defaults I specified in the bindings with the exception of the Spaces per tab is blank (no idea how to fix this). Let's name this Linux box "wiki box". Public users can't access this wiki as it is hosted on a private LAN. For external users (the Internet users) we have a Linux router (with Apache 2.0.52) where we host our website (ex: xttp://www.cubique.ro). Let's name this Linux box "router". WHAT I WANT What I want to do is: to create a virtual domain (as xttp://wiki.cubique.ro) on the "router" setup the virtual domain to forward all xttp requests to my private "wiki box" (ex: xttp://192.168.0.200/wiki_root/) WHAT I'VE DONE ALREADY On router's Apache (httpd.conf) I have created a VirtualHost as: < VirtualHost 0.0.0.0:80 ServerName wiki.cubique.ro DocumentRoot /someinternalpath/html ScriptAlias /cgi-bin /someinternalpath/cgi-bin ... Well, after I have navigate at wiki.cubique.ro I saw a blank web page, as /someinternalpath/html has an empty index.htm page. So I teach the Apache to ProxyPass the access of virtual domain root to the wiki box root like this: ...the following lines lies in the same virtual domain definition, see above ProxyPass / xttp://192.168.0.200/wiki/ ProxyPassReverse / xttp://192.168.0.200/wiki/ < /VirtualHost WHAT IS THE ISSUE If I access the wiki using the internal address (such as xttp://192.168.0.200/wiki/) it looks splendid (style sheets, everything). When I access the wiki using the virtual domain name ( xttp://wiki.cubique.ro ) it shows the content but no style sheet. Worse than that, no internal wiki links are working at all. • UI android question/problem with Listview

  Hi, I'm trying to recreate the UI screen called 'My Places' that is used in the Weather Channel app. I'd attach a screenshot of the screen, but I can't seem to do it here. It seems they're using two listviews one on top of the other, but I'm not sure for certain. Could anybody confirm this for me? If they are doing this, how is this done? I've tried to implement this, but without full success. My top listview 'Add a place' 'comes up correctly, but the bottom listview will not appear/populate for me? I shall attach my code so far...... • Taking screenshots in Windows Vista, Windows 7, with transparent areas outside the app region

  Hey Folks, I am trying to take a screenshot of an application and I would like to make the parts of the rectangle that are not part of the applications region be transparent. So for instance on a standard windows application I would like to make the rounded corners transparent. OK, back to the problem ;) When I run this test app on XP (or Vista/Windows 7 with Aero off), I get something like this, which is great because I can eek an xor mask out of this that can be used later with BitBlt. Here is the problem, on Vista or Windows 7 with Aero enabled, there isn't necessarily a region on the window, in fact in most cases there isn't. Can anybody help me figure out how to get the region of the application like this on these platforms. Here are some of the approaches I have already tried... 1. Using the PrintWindow function: This doesn't work because it gives back a screenshot taken of the window with Aero off and this window is a different shape from the window returned with Aero on 2 Using the Desktop Window Manager API to get a full size thumbnail: This didn't work because it draws directly to the screen and from what I can tell you can't get a screenshot directly out of this api. Yeah, I could open a window with a pink background, show the thumbnail, take a screenshot then hide this temporary window but thats a horrible user experience and a complete hack I would rather not have my name on. 3. Using Graphics.CopyFromScreen or some other pinvoke variant of this: This doesn't work because I can't assume that the window I need information from is at the top of the z-order on the screen. Right now, the best solution I can think of is to special case Aero on Windows 7 and Vista to manually rub out the corners by hard coding some graphics paths I paint out but this solution would suck since any application that performs custom skinning will break this.   i am new to webservices, I have created a basic stockmarket webservice, I have successfully created the server script for it and placed it in my server, Now I also creted a clent script and accessed it hruogh the same server.. Is it valid ? can boh files be accesed from the same server? or do I have to place them in different servers? If yes Then Y? If No then why do i get the blank page? I am using nusoap library for webservice. • I want to merge two PostScript Documents, pagewise. How?

  hello, i have a tricky question, so i need to describe my problem: i need to print 2-sided booklets (a third of a paper) on normal paper (german A4, but letter is okay also) and cut the paper afterwards. The Pages are in a Postscript Level 2 File (generated by an ancient printer driver, so no chance to patch that, except ps2ps) generated by me with the ancient OS's Printing driver facilities (GpiMove, GpiLine, GpiText etc). I do not want to throw away two-thirds of the paper, so my idea is: Take file one, two and three, merge them (how?) on new double-sided papers by translate/move file two and three by one resp. two thirds and print the resulting new pages. If it helps, I can manage to print one page of the booklet per file. I cannot "speak" postscript natively, but I am capable of parsing and merging and manipulating files programmaticly. Maybe you can hint me to a webpage. I've read through the manuals on adobe's site and followed the links on www.inkguides.com/postscript.asp Maybe there are techniques with PDF that would help? I can translate ps2pdf. Thanks for help Peter Miehle PS: my current solution: i.e. 8 pages: print page 1, 4 and 7 on page one, 2,5,8 on page two and 3,6,blank on page three, cut the paper and restack. But i want to use a electrical cutting machine, which works better with thicker stacks of paper.

• Trouble pre-populating drop down and textarea from MySQL Database

'" /><br /> However, when I try to do the same for a drop down box and a textarea box, nothing is pre-populated from the database, even though there is actual content in the database.   Hi, I am developing a php website. I cant see php.ini file in my server. my host will not provide it. • Limiting choices from an intermediary ManyToMany junction table in Django

  Background I've created three Django models—Inventory, SalesOrder, and Invoice—to model items in inventory, sales orders for those items, and invoices for a particular sales order. Each sales order can have multiple items, so I've used an intermediary junction table—SalesOrderItems—using the through argument for the ManyToManyField. Also, partial billing of a sales orders is allowed, so I've created a ForeignKey in the Invoice model related to the SalesOrder model, so that a particular sales order can have multiple invoices. Here's where I deviate from what I've normally seen. Instead of relating the Invoice model to the Item model via a ManyToManyField, I've related the Invoice model to the SalesOrderItem intermediary junction table through the intermediary junction table InvoiceItem. I've done this because it better models reality—our invoices are tied to sales orders and can only include items that are tied to that sales order as opposed to any item in inventory. I will admit that it does seem strange having the intermediary junction table of a ManyToManyField related to the intermediary junction table of another ManyToManyField. Question How can I limit the choices available for the invoice_items in the Invoice model to just the sales_order_items of the SalesOrder model for that particular Invoice? (I tried using limit_choices_to= {'sales_order': self.invoice.sales_order}) as part of the item = models.ForeignKey(SalesOrderItem) in the InvoiceItem model, but that didn't work. Am I correct in thinking that limiting the choices for the invoice_items should be handled in the model instead of in a form? • Problem Binding a ObservableCollection to a ListBox in WPF/MVVM

  I'm working in some code , using wpf and starting to use mvvm. So far i have no problem, when i have one element and I have to show the values of it in the screen (binding of the specific name of the property). But now, i have to work with a property list , not knowing the names of it. So I created a class, named GClass, that only have two propierties, name and value. I created the ObservableCollection, and fill for now with direct values, and asign the view (lstview) datacontext with the object i have created. But I cant see any result, it always shows a blank listbox. Can someone tell me if see why is happening ? • How do I handle nils in views?

This creates a problem in my other views though because band is now nil. How do I allow for band not to be specified and just show up as empty on my index and show views, and then in the edit view allow one to be specified at a later point in time. I have been able to get my index to display a blank by doing: contact.band && contact.band.name But I'm not sure if this is a best approach, and I'm unsure of how to apply a similar solution to my other views. • The HTML5 doctype is not triggering standards mode in IE8

  i work for a company where all our sites currently use the XHTML 1.0 transitional doctype (yes i know it is very old school). I want to change them all to use the HTML5 doctype seeing as it is backwards compatible. One of the reasons why i want to make the switch is because in IE8 if someone has the developer tools installed then the old XHTML doctype switches the browser into compatibility mode and renders the page as IE7. From reading up on it i was led to believe that the HTML5 doctype will set any page to render in standards mode, but this is not happening when i test it on our staging server it still flips into IE7 rendering mode. The weird thing is if i save the page with HTML5 doctype locally and open it, it is rendering in IE8 standards mode. There must be something else causing it to drop into compatibility IE7 rendering. Any ideas what this could be? • toggling proximity sensor on iPhone loses an event

  I'm using setProximitySensingEnabled and implemented proximityStateChanged in my UIApplication subclass. It looks like if sensing is toggled, that the first "off" event is being lost. My UIApplication class is pretty basic... -(void)proximityStateChanged:(BOOL)state { NSLog(state ? @"ON" : @"OFF"); } In my application delegate, I have a UISwitch that enables/disables the proximity sensor. -(IBAction)toggleProxy:(id)sender { [UIApplication sharedApplication].proximitySensingEnabled = prox.on; } "prox" is my UISwitch. The test works fine when it first starts. I tap the switch to turn it on and then put my hand over the sensor for a second then move it away and get: 2009-03-11 12:43:00.465 Proximity[324:20b] ON 2009-03-11 12:43:02.514 Proximity[324:20b] OFF 2009-03-11 12:43:04.046 Proximity[324:20b] ON 2009-03-11 12:43:05.621 Proximity[324:20b] OFF I then tap the switch to turn it off then tap again to turn it on. Now I get: 2009-03-11 12:43:12.005 Proximity[324:20b] ON 2009-03-11 12:43:14.789 Proximity[324:20b] ON 2009-03-11 12:43:16.467 Proximity[324:20b] OFF 2009-03-11 12:43:17.516 Proximity[324:20b] ON 2009-03-11 12:43:19.077 Proximity[324:20b] OFF Notice I get two ON's before an OFF. The OFF is lost somewhere. I can't replicate this behavior using Google's mobile app so I'm wondering if they're resetting something in between proximity enabling. They don't have the proximity sensor on all the time because if you cover the sensor, the screen doesn't go blank. You have to tilt the phone up and angle it back (to simulate the position it would be in at your ear) and then covering the sensor works. Anyone else playing with the sensor? In my particular app, I'm recording a voice message and when you move the phone away from your ear, I want to pause the recording (when I get an OFF). The first time I move the phone away from my ear, the recording is not paused. However, if I put it to my ear and move it away again, it is paused.
