  • Getting file updates in folders with no permission.

    I've been working on a program to monitor a network folder to find out which spreadsheets our company uses are the most popular. I'm using the FileSystemWatcher class in C# to do the monitoring. I've noticed I'm getting updates to files that are in folders that my user does not have permission to browse. I understand that my software is subscribing to a list of updates done by other system software and not actually browsing those files itself, but is this functionality intentional or is it a bug?

  • User upload file above web root with php

    I have a website where local bands can have a profile page, I'm implementing an upload system so that they can add songs to their profile. I want to make sure that clever visitors to my website cannot download their songs. I was thinking about uploading them to above the folder for my domain so that they cannot be accessed directly. Is this a good idea and/or possible? If not, what do you suggest I do to try and avoid users downloading songs. I'm already using a flash player to try and prevent downloads.

    Hi, I want to enable the user to upload media which will not be saved in the media folder. When I use the following line of code data will be uploaded to media/upload/logo . logo_img = models.FileField(upload_to='upload/logo', blank=True) I'm wondering how I can change this behaviour. I would try to write a custom FileField and a view that serves the data based on the database entries. I do not want to place the data the user uploads to the media folder, since it is no public data. Is this approach correct? Are there solutions out there which do exactly what I want and I would reinvent the wheel with implementing this by myself? Would appreciate any help!

  • How can I save and read to XML the new C++ style matrix objects in OpenCV?

    The old, C style cvMat matrices could be passed to the cvSave() function for easy writing to an XML file. The new C++ style cv::Mat and cv::Mat_ matrices are not accepted by this function. The OpenCV reference has a section on XML persistence, but the three classes (FileStorage, FileNode and FileNodeIterator) lack any description or example and I can't figure out how to use them from the interface.     How can I list the numbers 01 to 12 (one for each of the 12 months) in such a way so that the current month always comes last where the oldest one is first. In other words, if the number is grater than the current month, it's from the previous year. e.g. 02 is Feb, 2011 (the current month right now), 03 is March, 2010 and 09 is Sep, 2010 but 01 is Jan, 2011. In this case, I'd like to have [09, 03, 01, 02].     I have some .pdf files that I would like to convert to my preferred reading format of .cbr or .cbz or, if this isn't directly possible, I need to extract all pages from the .pdf as images and then compress them into my format of choice. I have only been able to save pages one at a time with Document Viewer. Obviously, I'd like to do it a little quicker. I have tried pdfsam, pdf shuffler, and pdfmod all with no luck. I am using Ubuntu 11.10.

    I need to add "annotations" to existing HTML documents - best in the form of string property values I can read & write by name. Apparently (to me), meta elements in the header seem to be the common way - i.e. adding/modifying elements like <head> <meta name="unique-id_property-name" content="property-value"/> ... </head> Question 1: Ist that "acceptable" / ok, or is there a better way to add meta data? I have a little previous experience with getting/mut(il)ating HTML contents through the document in an web browser control. For this task, I've already loaded the HTML document into a HTMLDocument object, but I'm not sure how to go on: // what I have IHTMLDocument2Ptr doc; doc.CreateInstance(__uuidof(HTMLDocument)); IPersistFile pf = doc; pf->Load(fileName, STGM_READ); // everything ok until here Questions 2: Should I be using anything else than HTMLDocument? I could scan that for head, then scan that for all meta where the name starts with a certain string, etc. - but this feels very clumsy.
