  I recently coded something where it wasn't known if the end code would reside in a subdomain (http://user.domain.com/) or in a subdomain (http://domain.com/user), and I was lost as to the best practice for these unknown scenarios. I could thinks of a couple: Use absolute paths (/css/styles.css) and modrewrite if it ends up being /user Have a settings file and declare a variable with the path (<? php echo $domain . "/css/styles" ?>) Use relative paths (../css/styles.css). What is the best way to handle this?

• How to modyfy resource in a DLL from this DLL?

  I'm writing an add-on for IE using VC++ and ATL. It's a simple DLL and I have a text file that I use as a resource. This answer helped me in doing this. I have a question about updating resource. MSDN describes how to do it but there is a function (BeginUpdateResource) that need filename of exe or dll with resource. Is it possible to update resource in my DLL from my DLL? I can easily read it that way, but to update I have to provide DLL's name. Is it necessary? Also if I won't give full path to my DLL it looks for file on desktop and not where DLL is stored. I don't know why this behave like this.

• Coldfusion 9 installation problem with IIS7

  Windows web server 2008 R2 64 bit, CF9 64 bit, IIS7, ISAPI extensions and filters and II6 metabase compatability installed. OS is on C default, and trying to install CF to D: Testing IIS and it shows index.html correctly from c:\inetpub\wwwroot at http://localhost/index.html Then I install CF to D:\ , single standard server licence, select run with all IIS sites, select C:\inetpub\wwwroot as the web root for administrator, and when it gets to the bit where it is supposed to open up administrator to complete the installation it opens up the browser with a 500 error. Now when I go back to http://localhost/index.html I also get a 500 error, if i uninstall CF I can again reach the html page. CFIDE has been installed in C:\inetpub\wwwroot presumably correctly. Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong please. Update The exact IIS error is HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred. I made a maven multi module project with the following modules: /api /domain /repositories /webapp I like to share the domain and the repositories between the api and the webapp (both web projects). • ImagickDraw::setFont has no effect on my system; suggestions?

  Running on Ubuntu LTS 8.04, PHP 5.2.8, ImageMagick 6.6.1-5 installed from source, and Imagick 2.3.0 installed from pecl. ImageMagick's 'convert' command sets fonts properly, and ImagickDraw::setFont properly complains if an invalid path to a font has been specified. However, specifying a valid font has no effect in changing the appearance of the drawn font whatsoever. Also, specifying a valid filename that contains invalid font data fails to trigger an error. It's almost as if Imagick isn't doing anything other than verifying that the specified file exists. Any suggestions?

It seems like it should be trivial to set the background color (black is fine) of a UITableView's cell to something other than white or completely transparent so that you can display your data with white text. However, with my attempts I lose the corners on my grouped table view and it all looks like crap. I've seen & understand the methods described by Matt Gallagher about customizing TableView cells with exotic gradients, etc. but wanted to be certain before heading down that path...

There are three ways Upload to my account in public, private or protected mode Upload to department account in public, private or protected mode Upload to organization account in public, private or protected mode where public is visible to anyone, private to the group or person only and protected to anyone in the organization. All the files for an organization are stored in a directory say, /files/<organizationId>/, on file server like files +-- 234809 | +img1.jpg | +doc1.pdf +-- 808234 | +doc2.pdf I am storing file-path and privacy level in DB. So, I can control whether to show link to a file URL to an user -- on a given page. The problem is, I do not have any control over file's URL... so, if some one types the URL to img1.jpg in his browser's address bar, there is no way to know whether a logged in user is eligible to see img1.jpg. • Eclipse: How to build an executable jar with external jar?

  Hi all, I am trying to build an executable jar program which depends on external jar downloaded. In my project, I included them in the build path and can be run and debug within eclipse. When I tried to export it to a jar, I can run the program but I can't when I try to press a button which includes function calls and classes from the external jar. I have edited the environment variables (Windows XP) CLASSPATH to include paths of all the external jar, but it doesn't work. A point to note is that I got compile warnings while exporting my executable jar, but it doesn't show up any description about the warnings.   I am making a simple development tool for myself using PHP on my local development server. I would like a way to have a simple file-chooser to select a file without uploading it, but just retaining the file path. This is useful, because I will be the only one using the tool, and so PHP will have access to the chosen file without having it uploaded. My first thought is to have a <input type="file"...>, but as far as I know, there's no way to prevent the upload from happening. Is there a way to do this?

• How do I allow inline images with data urls on .NET 4 without triggering request validation?

  I'm using the jQuery jstree plugin (http://jstree.com) in a ASP.NET MVC 2 project on .NET 4 RC. It comes with some stylesheets with inline images with data urls, like this: .tree-checkbox ul { background-image:url(data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAgACAIAAAB4dGf///yH5BAEAAAEALAAAAAACAAIAAAICRF4AOw==); } Now, the url for the background image contains a colon, which .NET 4 thinks is an unsafe character, so I get this error message: A potentially dangerous Request.Path value was detected from the client (:). According to the documentation, I am supposed to be able to prevent this by adding <pages validateRequest="false" /> to my Web.config, but that doesn't seem to help. I have tried adding it to the main Web.config for the application, as well as to a special Web.config in the /config folder, but to no avail. Is there any way to get .NET to allow this?

• Custom ASP.NET MVC cache controllers in a shared hosting environment?

  I'm using custom controllers that cache static resources (CSS, JS, etc.) and images. I'm currently working with a hosting provider that has set me up under a full trust profile. Despite being in full trust, my controllers fail because the caching strategy relies on the File class to directly open a resource file prior to treatment and storage in memory. Is this something that would likely occur in all full trust shared hosting environments or is this specific to my host? The static files live within my application's structure and not in an arbitrary server path. It seems to me that custom caching would require code to access the file directly, and am hoping someone else has dealt with this issue.

• Displaying local images in the web browser control

  Hi, I am writing a Windows Forms application and am creating a report for users to view in the webBrowser control. The problem is that it does not seem to display an image which is situated on my local hard drive, it just display the "broken image" red cross symbol. The path of the image is correct and when I view the source code of the generated html in either Firefox or Chrome it works but not in Internet Explorer (which I presume it what is used for this webBrowser control).   I need to setup some 301 permanent redirects in the web.config of an ASP.NET MVC application running under IIS. The easiest way is to add a tag similar to the one below to the web.config file: <location path="TheMenu.aspx"> <system.webServer> <httpRedirect enabled="true" destination="menus/" httpResponseStatus="Permanent" /> </system.webServer> </location> When I go to the site at http://domain.com/TheMenu.aspx it redirects me to http://domain.com/menusxd instead of http://domain.com/menus What would be causing this? • Replacing xcode with macports software

  I have been trying to replace everything in xcode with stuff I can get from macports. So far, I installed xcode, then macports, then used macports to install gcc, gcc_select, gmake, elf-bintools, bintools, arm-bintools (just to be sure I replaced all the bintools), and then uninstalled all of xcode. I then linked /usr/bin/make with /opt/local/bin/gmake and used gcc_select to select gcc44--the one from macports. I also exported all the bintool executable paths into the .profile path. I was sure this would work (although I should have known better after working on it for 48 hours straight), but nothing will configure, and the log files all have the common error: :info:configure configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables I have a feeling it has something to do with libraries, but I am really not sure. I use a mac 10.5.8. If this is truely 'impossible', what parts of xcode to I need for macports to work? For example, I can uninstall the xcode folder without a problem.

• wheel of fortune collision detection

  Hey, I have a wheel segmented into 8 pie pieces, and a picker that is pointing at the currently selected segment (think wheel of fortune). I want to highlight the currently selected segment, and so have started to use Chipmunk to construct the 8 segments, attached to a rotating body, and then the picker that is put in a position to collide with each of the segments. The trick is, how do you allow the picker to pass over top of the segments, while still getting the collision, but not actually colliding and slowing down the wheel? I haven't started down this path yet, but thought this may solve the problem: removing the colliding segment and then putting it back after the picker has started colliding with another segment a bit away (like two segments away). There may be a much simpler solution not even involving Chipmunk that I haven't thought of. Thanks, Andrew

Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the file location is correct. If you are trying to open the file from your list of most recently used files, make sure that the file has not been renamed, moved, or deleted. ". I think it taking server path...but i want to open client excel file before saving the file to the server. Plz help.

• Cstom handler on IIS 7.5 doesn't work

  Hi, I am new to IIS 7.5. I have an application in asp.net 2.0, which has its own custom URL rewriting mechanism. All the requests on the browser with .htm will be mapped to .aspx. It works fine on IIS 6, but somehow I could not get it working on IIS 7.5. On IIS 6, I go to Application PropertiesConfigurationMappings and add a new extension .htm with the executable as aspnet_isapi.dll On IIS 7.5 i added a handler mapping, with path as .htm and executable as aspnet_ispai.dll But the request does not even come to global.asax. If i try the URL with .aspx extension, pages load properly. Any idea how to set up custom mappings in iis 7.5?

  I got a very similar error to the one below: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/97800/how-can-i-fix-this-delphi-7-compile-error-duplicate-resources However, the error I got is this: [Error] WARNING. Duplicate resource(s): [Error] Type 10 (RCDATA), ID TFMMAINTQUOTE: [Error] File P:\[PATH SNIPPED]\Manufacturing.RES resource kept; file FMaintQuote.DFM resource discarded. Manufacturing.res is the default resource file (application is called Manufacturing.exe), and FMainQuote is one of the forms. .dfm files are plain text files, so I'm not sure what resources is being duplicated, how to find it and fix it? If I tried to compile the project again, it works OK, but the exe's icon is different to the one I've set in Project Options using the "Load Icon" button. The icon on the app is some sort of bell image that I don't recognize.
