    Hi all, I've seen a tons of sample to how to programmatically submit a form (in .NET) but none of them has the specific requirements I need. The case I'm working on has a query string (http://.../index=?p=update), some hidden fields and a upload file. Does anyone has managed to submit this kind of form with a webrequest? Installing the Windows Phone 7 SDK I get the following error Incompatible Products VC 10.0 Runtime .NET Framework 4 Multi-Targeting Pack Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Client Profile Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended This was reported as an issue with Beta 2 and the fix was to install the RC.   • AMQP 'connection.open' reserved parameters

    I am writing an AMQP Client Library in Erlang. For the 'connection.open' method, there are 2 reserved parameters "documented" in AMQP 0.9.1 out of a total of 3. When I send the method in question without the "reserved parameters", I get "unable to decode method" in the error log. What should I be sending as value for those "reserved parameters" ?? Update: It seems the server still expects some parameters even if the parameters are deprecated (see source code for code generator).

  • Adding AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers with MSBuild

    I am using CC.Net with MSBuild tasks to build an application that is composed of a number of solutions and projects. We are using the AssemblyInfo MSBuild Community task to update version info in AssemblyInfo.cs. Unfortunately the AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers attribute doesn't get in and the AssemblyInfo task tells me that the AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers attribute is not supported by the task. Is there any way to add that attribute through MSBuild without having to resort to a custom task that just tacks the line at the end of the file after-the-fact?

  • NSObjectController confusion binding to a class property. Help!

    Hi, I'm teaching myself cocoa and enjoying the experience most of the time. I have been struggling all day with a simple problem that google has let me down on. I have read the Cocoa Bindings Program Topics and think I grok it but still can't solve my issue. I have a very simple class called MTSong that has various properties. I have used @synthesize to create getter/setters and can use KVC to change properties. i.e in my app controller the following works: mySong = [[MTSong alloc]init]; [mySong setValue:@"2" forKey:@"version"]; In case I am doing something noddy in my class code MTSong.h is: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> @interface MTSong : NSObject { NSNumber *version; NSString *name; } @property(readwrite, assign) NSNumber *version; @property(readwrite, assign) NSString *name; @end and MTSong.m is: #import "MTSong.h" @implementation MTSong - (id)init { [super init]; return self; } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } @synthesize version; @synthesize name; @end In Interface Builder I have a label (NSTextField) that I want to update whenever I use KVC to change the version of the song. I do the following: Drag NSObjectController object into the doc window and in the Inspector-Attributes I set: Mode: Class Class Name: MTSong Add a key called version and another called name Go to Inspector-Bindings-Controller Content Bind To: File's Owner (Not sure this is right...) Model Key Path: version Select the cell of the label and go to Inspector Bind to: Object Controller Controller Key: mySong Model Key Path: version I have attempted changing the Model Key Path in step 2 to "mySong" which makes more sense but the compiler complains. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.     Hello i am using the AsyncFileUpload from the ajaxtoolkit, upter the upload is complete , i want to display all the images that were uploaded (and their URL is inserted into the DB) with my repeater and binding method. but its not working! the images are uploaded, the DB insert works file, but i cant see the images after the repeater is dinded.   • Ninject.Web.PageBase still resulting in null reference to injected dependency

    I have an ASP.NET 3.5 WebForms application using Ninject 2.0. However, attempting to use the Ninject.Web extension to provide injection into System.Web.UI.Page, I'm getting a null reference to my injected dependency even though if I switch to using a service locator to provide the reference (using Ninject), there's no issue. [Update] Finally got back to this, and it works in Classic Pipeline mode, but not Integrated. Is the classic pipeline a requirement?   • Semi-complex aggregate select statement confusion

    Alright, this problem is a little complicated, so bear with me. I have a table full of data. One of the table columns is an EntryDate. There can be multiple entries per day. However, I want to select all rows that are the latest entry on their respective days, and I want to select all the columns of said table. One of the columns is a unique identifier column, but it is not the primary key (I have no idea why it's there; this is a pretty old system). For purposes of demonstration, say the table looks like this: create table ExampleTable ( ID int identity(1,1) not null, PersonID int not null, StoreID int not null, Data1 int not null, Data2 int not null, EntryDate datetime not null ) The primary key is on PersonID and StoreID, which logically defines uniqueness. Now, like I said, I want to select all the rows that are the latest entries on that particular day (for each Person-Store combination). This is pretty easy: --Figure 1 select PersonID, StoreID, max(EntryDate) from ExampleTable group by PersonID, StoreID, dbo.dayof(EntryDate) Where dbo.dayof() is a simple function that strips the time component from a datetime. However, doing this loses the rest of the columns! I can't simply include the other columns, because then I'd have to group by them, which would produce the wrong results (especially since ID is unique). I have found a dirty hack that will do what I want, but there must be a better way -- here's my current solution: select cast(null as int) as ID, PersonID, StoreID, cast(null as int) as Data1, cast(null as int) as Data2, max(EntryDate) as EntryDate into #StagingTable from ExampleTable group by PersonID, StoreID, dbo.dayof(EntryDate) update Target set ID = Source.ID, Data1 = Source.Data1, Data2 = Source.Data2, from #StagingTable as Target inner join ExampleTable as Source on Source.PersonID = Target.PersonID and Source.StoreID = Target.StoreID and Source.EntryDate = Target.EntryDate This gets me the correct data in #StagingTable but, well, look at it! Creating a table with null values, then doing an update to get the values back -- surely there's a better way to do this? A single statement that will get me all the values the first time? It is my belief that the correct join on that original select (Figure 1) would do the trick, like a self-join or something... but how do you do that with the group by clause? I cannot find the right syntax to make the query execute. I am pretty new with SQL, so it's likely that I'm missing something obvious. Any suggestions? (Working in T-SQL, if it makes any difference)

    Hi all, I want to prevent mysql from starting in ubuntu 10.04 I have used update-rc.d -f mysql remove and confirmed that there is no link to the /etc/inid.d/mysql script from any of the rc?.d directories. I also ran sysv-rc-conf and it shows me that mysql is being called as part of the rc.d scripts. It is still starting on boot. How do I disable it? Regards, Bryan

    After years mastering Aspnet webforms I recently decided to try out ASpnet MVC. Naturally my first action was to google 'Aspnet webforms vs Aspnet MVC'. I hoped to get an honest comparison of the two development techniques and guidelines on when to use which one. ..But I was completely turned off by the MVC proponents. In almost every post on the net comparing the two 'platforms' the MVC camp is simply bashing webform developers like me. They go on and on about how wrong and stupid using webforms is. As if what we have been doing the past decade has been pointless - all those websites built(& still running), all those clever controls, the mighty gridview..ALL POINTLESS ! Karl Seguin especially with his stupid webforms rant really turned me off. If his intention was to convert people like me he did the oposite and made me defensive. If anything I am now convinced that the webforms approach is better. consider the following All the critical shortcomings of aspnet webforms have now been Addressed in visual studio 2010 with Aspnet 4.0.- Cleaner html, cleaner control IDs, friendly urls, leaner viewstate etc Why would any one want to implement the mighty gridview and other wonderful controls from scratch ? In MVC you have to do this yourself because ABSTRACTION IS PLAIN STUPID- Instead of writing loops why not just code using 1s and 0s then? A stateless web is a WEAKNESS so why would anyone want to get rid of viewstate? Everyone would like a better implementation but getting rid of it is a step backwards not forward. Unit testing is great but not a critical requirement for most web projects. I thought inline codes were dead with asp. But now they are back and fashionable - Thanks to MVC. I dont know about you people but codebehind was REVOLUTIONARY. Ive had the Ajax Update panel do so many wonderful things without writing a line of code so why demonise it? Ive succesfully implemented a chat client, IM client and Status bar using nothing but the update panel and script manager.Ofcourse you cant use it for everything but most of the time its appropriate. And finally the last word from JQUERY - 'Write less do more !' - That's what webforms is all about ! So Am I the only who still believes in webforms(and it getting better as Aspnet 4.0 has shown) or will it be dead and gone a few years from now like asp? I mean if inline coding is 'the future' why not just switch to PHP !

I'm sending data back and forth between a web browser and a web service. The following steps emulates the communication between the two, using session-per-request. I first save a new instance of a Store: using (new SessionScope()) { // this is data from the browser var store = new Store { Id = Guid.Empty }; ActiveRecordMediator.SaveAndFlush(store); } Then I grab the store out of the DB, add a new product to it, and then save it: using (new SessionScope()) { // this is data from the browser var product = new Product { Id = Guid.Empty, Name = "Apples" }); var store = ActiveRecordLinq.AsQueryable<Store>().First(); store.Products.Add(product); ActiveRecordMediator.SaveAndFlush(store); } Up to this point, everything works well. Both entities are persistent. Then I tried to save a transient Product (the one that has the updated info from the browser) that has the same ID as the one that's already associated with the session, and an exception is thrown. However, I don't know how to get around this problem. If I could get access to a NHibernate.ISession, I could call ISession.Merge() on it, but it doesn't look like ActiveRecordMediator has anything similar (SaveCopy threw the same exception). Does anyone know the solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Impossible to do POSTs with appengine-jruby/RoR: Reflection is not allowed

    I'm trying to build a site with RoR on Google App Engine. I'm using the google-appengine gem (http://appengine-jruby.googlecode.com) and following the instructions in (http://gist.github.com/268192). The problem is that I can't submit ANY form! I've already tried this in two diferent clean Win 7 Pro envs and the result is the same. After install Ruby 1.8.6 (One-Click Installer): 1. gem update --system 2. gem install rails 3. gem install google-appengine 4. gem install rails_dm_datastore 5. gem install activerecord-nulldb-adapter 6. curl -O http://appengine-jruby.googlecode.com/hg/demos/rails2/rails2_appengine.rb 7. ruby rails2_appengine.rb (previously downloaded) 8. rails myproj 9. chmod myproj 10. ruby script/generate dd_model MyModel f1:string f2:float f3:float f4:float f5:integer f6:integer f7:integer -f 11. ruby script/generate scaffold MyModel f1:string f2:float f3:float f4:float f5:integer f6:integer f7:integer -f --skip-migration 12. dev_appserver.rb -p 3000 . At this point, I manually test the scaffold in (http://localhost:3000/my_models). The index is OK, then I create a new registry with the generated form, everything's fine, but when I try to create a second one, I get a "java.lang.RuntimeException: DummyDynamicScope should never be used for backref storage" in the console. As far as I read this is a won't-fix behavior in JRuby 1.4.1, but it's converted to a debug only warning in 1.5.0, so I proceed to install the pre release. 13. gem install appengine-jruby-jars --pre With this, that exception is solved and everything works great... until I move the project to the GAE server. 14. ruby appcfg.rb update . And now, in (http://myproj.appspot.com/my_models), again, the index is fine, also the new form, but in the moment that I submit it with valid data, I get a 500 error: "java.lang.IllegalAccessException: Reflection is not allowed on public int". As I said, this behavior is not present in the local SDK. In both cases, I'm completely unable to post anything.   • How to stop event bubbling with jquery live?

    Hi I am trying to stop some events but stopPropagation does not work with "live" so I am not sure what to do. I found this on their site. Live events do not bubble in the traditional manner and cannot be stopped using stopPropagation or stopImmediatePropagation. For example, take the case of two click events - one bound to "li" and another "li a". Should a click occur on the inner anchor BOTH events will be triggered. This is because when a $("li").bind("click", fn); is bound you're actually saying "Whenever a click event occurs on an LI element - or inside an LI element - trigger this click event." To stop further processing for a live event, fn must return false It says that fn must return false so what I tried to do $('.MoreAppointments').live('click', function(e) { alert("Hi"); return false; }); but that did not work so I am not sure how to make it return false. Update Here is some more information. I have a table cell and I bind a click event to it. $('#CalendarBody .DateBox').click(function(e) { AddApointment(this); }); So the AddApointment just makes some ui dialog box. Now the live code(MoreAppointments) sits in this table cell and is basically an anchor tag. So when I click on the anchor tag it first goes to the above code(addApointment - so runs that event first) runs that but does not launch my dialog box instead it goes straight to the (MoreAppointment) event and runs that code. Once that code has run it launches the dialog box from "addApointment". Update 2 Here is some of the html. I did not copy the whole table since it is kinda big and all the cells repeat itself with the same data.     Will .Net 4.0 use a new version of the CLR (v2.1, 3.0) or will it stick with the existing v2.0? Supplementary: Is it possibly going to keep with CLR v2.0 and add DLR v1.0? Update: Whilst this might look like a speculative question which cannot be answered, the VS team appear to be releasing more and more info on VS10 and .Net 4.0 so this may very soon not be the case.
