  I have run into an interesting problem. I am currently developing php page and need to access a php variable within the javascript onload. $(document).ready(function() { var temp = <?php $page_id ?> } is this valid? I know that this might seem weird and not be allowed but I am developing a page that has two popup windows. The windows are created using the same view template and there is no way to distinguish between each other. If I stored a hidden value on the page with information unique to the page like so <input type="hidden" value="<?php $page_id ?> id="page_id" /> if there are two views open at the same time there is no way for me to get a unique page id like so var temp = $("#page_id").val(); Because there are two views witht he same input id that is not unique. Long story short is it valid to reference a php variable in the javascript.

  Does anyone know if there is a way I can dynamically load and unload a TinyMCE plugin after TinyMCE has already been loaded?   Is there an easy way in C# to read a properties file that has each property on a separate line followed by an equals sign and the value, such as the following: ServerName=prod-srv1 Port=8888 CustomProperty=Any value In Java, the Properties class handles this parsing easily: Properties myProperties=new Properties(); FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream (new File("CustomProps.properties")); myProperties.load(fis); System.out.println(myProperties.getProperty("ServerName")); System.out.println(myProperties.getProperty("CustomProperty")); I can easily load the file in C# and parse each line, but is there a built in way to easily get a property without having to parse out the key name and equals sign myself? The C# information I have found seems to always favor XML, but this is an existing file that I don't control and I would prefer to keep it in the existing format as it will require more time to get another team to change it to XML than parsing the existing file.

  What I need to do is rewriting this address: (1) http://localhost/wordpress/fake/text-value to (2) http://localhost/wordpress/gallery?somevar=text-value Notes: the remapping must be transparent: the user always has to see address (1) gallery is a permalink to a wordpress page, not a real address I basically need to rewrite the address first (to modify it) and then feed it back to mod rewrite again (to let wordpress parse it its own way). Problems if I simply do RewriteRule ^fake$ http://localhost/wordpress/gallery [L] it works but the address in the browser changes, which is no good, if I do RewriteRule ^fake$ /wordpress/gallery [L] I get a 404. I tried different flags instead of [L] but to no avail. How can I get this to work?

  HI I am having problem with getting all the columns back when i execute following code in excel vba. I only get 6 out of 23 columns back. Connection, command etc works fine (i can see exec command in the SQL Profiler), data headers are created for all 23 columns but i only get data for 6 column. Side Note: it's not prod level code, have missed out error handling on purpose, sp works fine in SQL management studio, ASP.Net, C# win form app, it is for Excel 2003 connecting to SQL 2008.   Consider a simple result set from a mysql query. rs("description") and rs("description").Value should be considered as the same thing. However, depending on how you access them, you get different results (!!) Access rs("description") directly and you are returned a "Field" object. Or, more importantly, use it directly in a call, and you are returned a "Field" object. mydescription = rs("description") + " is the description" Assign it to another variable, and the Value of that object is assigned... mydescription = rs("description") the contents of "mydescription" is a string. Why this difference? At one point in the life of ASP they must have both worked exactly the same, so why have they changed, and how can I change it back?

I don't mean mocking an interface for use in another type's test, but specifically creating a test to accompany the interface.   How does one control the transparency over a 2D image in pylab? I'd like to give two sets of values (X,Y,Z,T) where X,Y are arrays of positions, Z is the color value, and T is the transparency to a function like imshow but it seems that the function only takes alpha as a scalar. As a concrete example, consider the code below that attempts to display two Gaussians. This works, but I can't access this value on the page from a non-jQuery function? The reverse is also true, if I scope it in JavaScript e.g. <script type="text/javascript"> var fieldCounter = 0; I can access it from javascript but jQuery can't view it? (This is obviously a simplified test! Same error on this or the real, rather longer code though.) • JavaScript: Change to Absolute Positioning

  I'm trying to center a page on any resolution while still being able to use absolute positioning to move pictures. I figure that the best way would be to have a table positioned relatively in the beginning in the center of the page, then change it to absolute positioning in the onload of the page. I think the correct line is: document.getElementById("Object").style.position = "absolute"; However, I put an alert box after it asking where the left side of the object is, I get undefined. But, if I directly assign it to a position (Object.style.left = 500) I will get that number. So I can assign it a value, meaning it is in absolute position, but I cannot pull a value out of that. Kind of confusing but hopefully it makes sense and someone knows what to do. Thanks.

  With .NET, I have "Thursday, April 10, 2008 1:30:00 PM" and I want "dddd, dd MMMM, yyyy h:m:s t", "6:09:01 PM" and want ""hh:mm:ss tt", "Fri 29 Aug" and want "ddd d MMM", and so on. It seems I should be able to use DateTimeFormatInfo in some way. I figured I can format the date with each pattern returned by GetAllDateTimePatterns, and when the original date string and the formated date string match then I have the format. Yet, I want to generate custom formats, not the standard formats. I want the format string. I do not want the date. I have both the DateTime value and the formatted string value for the date. I need <formatString> as in ToString(<formatString>).

• Undesired "flashing" in Jquery dropdown menu?

  Hi, I've got the following piece of Jquery: $("#collapse-menu > li > a").click(function() { $(this).toggleClass("expanded").toggleClass("collapsed").find("+ ul").slideToggle("medium"); }); What it basically does is expands or collapses a menu of nested "lists" which contain dropdowns (simplified example): <ul id="collapse-menu"> <li><a class="expanded">Basic Details</a> <ul> <li> <select> .... </select> </li> <li> <select> .... </select> </li> The code works absolutely fine EXCEPT when a large value is selected in any of the dropdowns. At that point, when clicked, the menu will still expand/collapse correctly but "flash" quickly while doing so, as if the entire element was being reset somehow. The data itself is fine but it's the flashing that's unwanted. The strange thing is that if a small value is selected in a dropdown, there's no flashing. When a large value is selected (say, above 30 in an age dropdown of 18-99), the flashing starts happening. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Or whether there's something not right about the Jquery that's causing this. Thanks. UPDATE: Adding a bounty to this. Have tried a few similar plugins/solutions out there on the net but they all seem to suffer from this "flashing" problem when large dropdown values are selected by default. If it helps, here's a typical similar solution: http://www.i-marco.nl/weblog/jquery-accordion-menu/index_collapsed.html# ... but it suffers from the same problem when dropdowns are added inside the accordion. I hope someone has a clean solution, instead of needing to hack this somehow.

Also, I want to find out how many nodes were selected in the given array. (separated by ). What will be the best way to implement this kind of scenario?

So how does one define a UserType that gets access to a servlet requests session?
