If a user is in 2 rooms, he'll have between 2 and 4 active connections to the server (long-polling connections), so if we have 200 users per room and we have 5 rooms, what should the ServerLimit, MaxClients be set to?   • Camel | Need for Scheduling console

    I am using camel 2.9.0 in my project. We have a number of routes divided into different camel contexts. Each camel context is bundled separately and deployed in Apache Karaf. Now the problem is divied into 2 parts: 1.) Each route is a scheduled route. Although using Quartz component, we are able to define a cron expressio in each route, we want a console where in we can trigger,stop any route and also put a cron expression to any route.(Scheduling a route through a web console is our main objective). 2.) Also we tried to configure the cron expression for each route through quartz.property. But if someone wants to change the cron expression at runtime in Apache Karaf, then we have to stop the bundle deployed and start in again. What can be done to change the value of cron expression at runtime. Any replies and help would be appreciable. Piyush

    On Win32 I'm getting intermittent output like this at page header: order allow,deny deny from allorder allow,deny deny from all I'm running php script which has number of .htaccess files in each subfolder. I need to understand why sometimes apache is just dumping me a content of this files. So just wondering if there is any way to enable debug log. I've tried ErrorLog "e:/wamp/logs/apache_error.log" LogLevel debug However can't see any debug output neither in error nor in access logs. Thanks

    Hi, I have an Apache server installed on my windows machine using XAMPP. Now I'm trying to use a premade .htaccess file for one of my projects, but it doesn't seem to be seeing it. The project just totally ignores it, even though I've enabled mod_rewrite. Any idea how I can troubleshoot this? I can't fix it if it just doesn't work and doesn't show me any errors.   • How to configure apache / php / postfix website emails when using vhosts?

    I have a LAMP webserver configured to serve multiple websites. Each virtual host has various PHP applications, mainly Wordpress. When users sign up to the Wordpress sites, email is sent by PHP through to postfix, and then on to the receiver. The problem is that postfix is identifying itself to the remote server with the contents of /etc/hostname, which is not a fully qualified domain name. Some mail servers reject this and the mail bounces. Additionally, the return path is being set to one of the vitual host domains, seemingly at random. I could set /etc/hostname to one of the website domain names, but then the emails from the other websites would have a wrong server in the headers, and this would not fix the return-path issue. Possibly related, apache2 says "could not determine the server's fully qualified domain name" on startup. How do I fix this so that each website can send email without revealing the other websites hosted on the server?

    The command $ sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-proxy-html and then $sudo service apache2 restart fires: apache2: Syntax error on line 210 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf: Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/proxy_html.load: Cannot load /usr/lib/libxml2.so.2 into server: /usr/lib/libxml2.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Action 'configtest' failed. I am using X220 laptop. Perhaps related thing but ?AMD here. Perhaps some repeating bug in Ubuntu, again. How to fix this? Any patch yet for Ubuntu?

  • Make Apache encode or replace quotes instead of escaping them?

    In the dcoumentation I read Format Notes For security reasons, starting with version 2.0.46, non-printable and other special characters in %r, %i and %o are escaped using \xhh sequences, where hh stands for the hexadecimal representation of the raw byte. Exceptions from this rule are " and \, which are escaped by prepending a backslash, and all whitespace characters, which are written in their C-style notation (\n, \t, etc). In versions prior to 2.0.46, no escaping was performed on these strings so you had to be quite careful when dealing with raw log files. This is a problem for Analog which is still the handiest analyser I use. I get .... "GET /somerequest?q=\"quoted string\"&someparm=bla" in the logfile and it is of course flagged as corrupt since Analog expects .... "GET /somerequest?q=%22quoted string%22&someparm=bla" or similar. I realise I can pre-process using something like perl -p -i.bak -e 's/\\"/%22/g' logfile But I'd rather not have to add this step to these files which are 50-90MB zipped per day Thanks for any pointers

  • How do I install Apache Portable Runtime?

    My Apache is installed by yum install apache And now I'm trying to install subversion server from source following instructions here. But when I try to configure,get an error: [root@vps303 subversion-1.6.9]# ./configure configure: Configuring Subversion 1.6.9 configure: creating config.nice checking for gcc... gcc checking for C compiler default output file name... a.out checking whether the C compiler works... yes ... checking for APR... no configure: WARNING: APR not found The Apache Portable Runtime (APR) library cannot be found. Please install APR on this system and supply the appropriate --with-apr option to 'configure' or get it with SVN and put it in a subdirectory of this source: svn co \ http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/apr/apr/branches/1.2.x \ apr Run that right here in the top level of the Subversion tree. Afterwards, run apr/buildconf in that subdirectory and then run configure again here. Whichever of the above you do, you probably need to do something similar for apr-util, either providing both --with-apr and --with-apr-util to 'configure', or getting both from SVN with: svn co \ http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/apr/apr-util/branches/1.2.x \ apr-util configure: error: no suitable apr found How do I get around this problem? BTW,will both client and server software be installed by compiling from source?

  • HttpClient multithread performance

    I have an application which downloads more than 4500 html pages from 62 target hosts using HttpClient (4.1.3 or 4.2-beta). It runs on Windows 7 64-bit. Processor - Core i7 2600K. Network bandwidth - 54 Mb/s. At this moment it uses such parameters: DefaultHttpClient and PoolingClientConnectionManager; Also it hasIdleConnectionMonitorThread from http://hc.apache.org/httpcomponents-client-ga/tutorial/html/connmgmt.html; Maximum total connections = 80; Default maximum connections per route = 5; For thread management it uses ForkJoinPool with the parallelism level = 5 (Do I understand correctly that it is a number of working threads?) In this case my network usage (in Windows task manager) does not rise above 2.5%. To download 4500 pages it takes 70 minutes. And in HttpClient logs I have such things: DEBUG ForkJoinPool-2-worker-1 [org.apache.http.impl.conn.PoolingClientConnectionManager]: Connection released: [id: 209][route: {}-http://stackoverflow.com][total kept alive: 6; route allocated: 1 of 5; total allocated: 10 of 80] Total allocated connections do not raise above 10-12, in spite of that I've set it up to 80 connections. If I'll try to rise parallelism level to 20 or 80, network usage remains the same but a lot connection time-outs will be generated. I've read tutorials on hc.apache.org (HttpClient Performance Optimization Guide and HttpClient Threading Guide) but they does not help.     I've successfully managed to connect to my Active Directory if I type in a username and password. To do this I'm using a PHP script called adLDAP. But I want my users to auto sign in if they are signed in on a computer connected to the Active Directory. If I understand things right, I need to use something called Single Sign On (SSO). I've tried searching for a tutorial on how to install this on a apache server running on windows 7, but with no luck. Could someone guide me in the right directions please? :)

  • Intercept page request behind firewall return altered content with php and apache

    I'm providing free wifi service and need an ad to be added to all page requests. Currently I have a router forwarding all http requests to an apache server, which redirects all requests to an index.php page. The index.php page reads the request, fetches the content from the appropriate site, and edits the content to include the ad. The problem is that all images and css files etc. cannot be accessed, because when the browser tries to get the image <img src="site.com/image.jpg"> it's just redirected back to the index.php. I can change settings for the router (running dd-wrt) and the webserver (apache2 and php 5.2). Is there a solution that allows content to be edited before returning to the client, and allows css and images to be accessed?
