  I have a VoIP service running perfectly for outgoing calls but I cannot receive incoming calls. I have a Netgear DGN 2000 modem router on 192.168.0.1 and a Lynksys Phone Adapter PAP2 on 192.168.0.2. I have created 3 new custom services: Service Table Service Name Ports tlenfon(TCP) 5060 tlenfon2(UDP) 15000 tlenfon3(UDP) 35000 I have reserved the address 192.168.0.2 for the PAP 2 I have forwarded the ports for each service to the PAP2 Service Name Action LAN Server IP address WAN Users Log tlenfon ALLOW always 192.168.0.2 Any Always tlenfon2 ALLOW always 192.168.0.2 Any Always tlenfon3 ALLOW always 192.168.0.2 Any Always I have checked the Default DMZ and specified 192.168.0.2 What have I missed?

• Trouble Connecting to Virtual Machine after IP address Change

  I have a VMware image running a copy of Fedora 11 which is hosted on a remote server. The remote server recently had its IP address change. I'm now unable to connect to my virtual machine. The server admin assures me that my virtual machine is running and assigned the new IP address. I have checked the firewalls and had the remote admin restart the VM instance. Neither of these fixed the problem. How do I troubleshoot a remote server which I am unable to SSH to? I'm actually even unable to ping the remote IP (connection timed out).

• File property information (last write time and file size) in explorer out of date by hours over netw

  An application is running on a windows XP prof machine picking up file from a network share from another windows machine. It detects that the file has been updated (by date and time or optionally file size) and reads it for any new data. Most of the time the last write time and file size, seems to be up to date. Occasionally, this information stops being updated, even though the file is growing (intermittently during the day) with appended content, so that the last write time and file size remain fixed at some arbitrary moment. This is visible in explorer, where it shows a fixed last write time on the reading machine. Just opening the file to edit it in notepad, immediately refreshes the file properties, and the other application picks up where it left of. The file location can't be changed, nor the location of the relevant applications. Any solutions to resolve this problem?

Recently I've read about 80 plus certificate and I'm wondering if it's worth to buy a 80 plus certificate psu? My power cost last year was also higher then before and my pc turns almost 14/7 a day. I mean power cost in used power not in augmented prices. I'm also planing to buy a SLI video card.

• Node js server not responding outside localhost centos

  I'm running a basic express server from CentOS but for some reason it is not responding outside of localhost, I have tried everything I have found on google but nothing works so far. This is my express server: app.listen(3000,"0.0.0.0"); If I do curl http://localhost:3000/ in the server it works fine. If I curl to the ip of the server it doesn't work. • hosts.deny ignored by MacOSX 10.8

  I have been trying to set up my MacOS X Server, which I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion, to use denyhosts as I need to open port 22 to it. denyhosts is set up and adds entries to /etc/hosts.deny so I decided to add my laptops IP to it in order to verify that it actually works but I can still log in and my IP shows up in /private/var/log/system.log. I even rebooted the server once just to be sure there wasn't some service that had to be restarted. I tried the following entries: ALL: <my laptop's IP> sshd: <my laptop's IP> sshd: 127.0.0.1 My /etc/sshd_config has the following parameters set: UsePAM yes UseDNS no I Googled if deny.hosts has been deprecated in OSX 10.7 or 10.8 but I couldn't find any indications that it has. Any ideas of what is going wrong or if there is an alternative way to achieve the same result? Yes, a private key would solve this problem but for the time being I would like to stick to using password authentication. I also like the idea of denyhosts actually blocking access to all services running on the server and not just ssh.

• Downloaded chm is blocked, is there a solution?

  CHM files that are downloaded are often tagged as potentially malicious by Windows, which effectively blocks all the html pages inside of it. There's an easy fix (just unblock the file after you download it), but I was wondering if there's a better way to provide unblocked chm files. What if I were to download the chm file (as a byte stream) from our server inside the application, then write all the data to a file on the disk. Would it still be blocked? Is there another/better way still? Edit: Yes, downloading the file using a System.Net.WebClient does solve the problem. But, is there still a better way?

• T61, NVidia, Ubuntu 9.10 == Video problems

  Hi, Upgraded to latest Ubuntu, currently 9.10. Videos used to work fine. Now, playing videos using VLC or any other media player shows them 'sepia' tinged when playing. This is annoying. I remember this used to happen on occasion (after resuming from suspect), and I forget what I fiddled with to make it better. Does anyone have the method to force video to render correctly with this combination? It happens even after a reboot. Thanks

  I am new to EC2 (and Tomcat, for that matter), and I am trying to deploy a vanilla Tomcat 7 server to an Ubuntu 12.04.1 EC2 instance and access the default test site over HTTP. My EC2 instance is running, and the Security Group includes port 80: My /etc/tomcat7/server.xml config has been edited to listen for HTTP requests on port 80: 0 I have restarted my Tomcat 7 server via sudo service tomcat7 restart. However, according to sudo netstat -lnp, Tomcat is not listed as listening over port 80: I am unable to get any response from going to the ...amazonaws.com public DNS in a web browser. What am I missing?

• Do these 3 crashes have something in common?

  I'm running OS X 10.6.8 on a Mac Mini. I tried to install 3 applications today and all 3 installations failed. I am wondering if the failures have something in common. First I installed GraphViz. The installation succeeded, but when I try to open any .dot file, I get a dialog that says GraphViz has quit unexpectedly. Next I installed Doxygen. It installed, but when I try to launch it I get a dialog that tells me Doxywizard quit unexpectedly. After some googling I thought perhaps my system lacked QT, and that was the problem. I downloaded the Qt 4.8.4 packages and installed them. But when I try to launch qtdemo.app, or any of the other apps that came with the qt installation, I get a dialog that says I can't open the app because it's not supported on this type of Mac. I have crash logs from GraphViz and Doxygen. They're long and I think it unnecessary to post them unless they would help someone determine my problem. • Backup SQL server db issue: delete old backup files

  I tried to use sqlmaint.exe tool to back up a database on a remote PC. Here is an example of backup: sqlmaint.exe -S remoteSQLServer\SQLInstance -U username -P pwdxxx -D myDB -BkUpMedia DISK -BkUpDB C:\MSSQL_Backups -DelBkUps 3days ... Here I specified to delete backups older than 3 days. However, the job seems not deleting old bak files on the remote PC(where the SQL server sits). The remote PC has Windows 2008 Server. I also set the C:\MSQL_Backups as shared network drive for EnyOne as owner. My understanding is that the job will delete any bak files older than 3 days. Not sure what I missed? By the way, the job runs at a box with SQL server 2005 installed.

This would let me send arbitrary files to gVim for editing. Under Windows 7 64-bit, I have installed gVim -- twice, as it happens -- and there's no menu item. How do I add an option to send arbitrary files to gVim for viewing/editing?

• Tomato VPN connect but cannot ping LAN IP

  I've setup TomatoVPN using these settings on the server: TAP UDP 1194 Client address pool 10.10.9.1 -10.10.9.254 LAN clients are configured with 10.10.10.x I can connect from a remote client, but pinging anything in the 10.10.10.x results in a "Destination Host Unreachable" error. • Why does my PC sometimes think I am constantly pressing the control key?

  I was browsing the web with Chrome and pressed f. A search box appeared. I then pressed s, after which Chrome asked if I wanted to save the web page. I soon realized that my PC was thinking that I was constantly pressing the Ctrl key regardless of what program I was using. In response, I tried clicking both of my Ctrl keys a few times to no avail. This problem arises sporadically as I work. I am not sure what is triggering it. Why could this problem be occurring? Is it the keyboard or software? How should I respond?

• VLAN Tagging Traffic on Cisco Switch

  I have a situation where I'm setting up multiple VLANS on a pfSense firewall on the same physical interface for a client. So in pfSense, I now have VLAN 100 (employees) and VLAN 200 (students - student computer lab). Downstream from pfSense, I have a Cisco SG200 switch, and coming off of the SG200 is the student lab (running on a Catalyst 2950. Yes, that's old, but it works, and this is a poor nonprofit we're talking about). What I'd like to do is tag everything on the network as VLAN 100, except for the student computer lab. Earlier today when I was on-site with the client, I went into to the old Catalyst 2950, and assigned all of its ports to access VLAN 200 (switchport mode access vlan 200) without setting up a trunk on the Catalyst or on the SG200. Looking back on it, I now understand why internet in the lab broke. I reverted the lab back to the default VLAN1 (we're still running on a different firewall - we haven't deployed pfSense -, and the traffic is still separated physically). So my question is, what do I need to do in order to properly deploy this scenario? I believe the correct answer is: Ensure VLANs 100 and 200 are setup in pfSense, and that DHCP is operating correctly (on separate subnets) Setup a trunkport VLAN that allows both 100 & 200 traffic, and plug that port directly into pfSense. Setup a VLAN 200 trunkport on the SG200 (It's not running iOS, but if it were, the command would be switchport trunk native vlan 200), which will then plug into the Catalyst 2950. Setup a VLAN 200 trunkport on the Catalyst 2950 (that is plugged into the SG200 VLAN200 port with the same command - switchport trunk native vlan 200) Setup the rest of the ports on the old Catalyst 2950 in the lab to be access ports on VLAN200. Is there anything that I'm missing, or do I need to tweak any of these steps, in order to properly segment the network traffic?

  I have a brand new installation of Windows XP (SP1 or older). I installed Norton AntiVirus, Firefox, Putty, and Cygwin. No other software is present. Windows Update finds the following 64 updates: KB905760, KB978262, Internet Explorer 8, KB71961, KB954155, KB968816, KB923561, KB950762, KB949402, KB950974, KB951376, KB951748, KB952004, KB952954, KB955069, KB956572, KB956802, KB956803, KB956844, KB958470, KB958869, KB959426, KB960803, KB960859, KB961501, KB969059, KB970238, KB970238, KB971032, KB971468, KB971657, KB972270, KB973507, KB973815, KB973904, KB974112, KB974318, KB974392, KB975025, KB975560, KB975561, KB975713, .......) When these updates are applied, the system reboots to a black screen with two error messages. The first error message says: lsass.exe - Application Error The application failed to initialize properly (0xc00000142). Click on OK to terminate the application. The second error message says: services.exe - Application Error The application failed to initialize properly (0xc00000142). Click on OK to terminate the application. I then proceed to boot into Safe Mode, use System Restore, and everything works fine again until the 64 updates re-appear in Windows Update. I can see two options: disable Auto-Updates or install each of the 64 updates one at a time until finding the troublesome update. Does anyone have any better ideas?

  Clients that have been reporting their state fine suddenly start reporting "Windows 0.0" for their OS and "Not yet contacted" for their Last Contacted date even though previously these values were present and correct.   I have an addin for Excel 2003. I tried to use MSDN's vbs script to make it installed, see my previous post question. It seems working as addin, but it does not displayed on toolbar when it is first installed on a box. What I have to do is to go to Tools-Add-Ins.. to uncheck my addin, for example myAddin, and then go back to the same dialog window again to check it. I think there must be somewhere Excel has config settings in xml or registry? Any way to run a script to set this addin visible in toolbar?

  Should a three node Cassandra cluster with a replication factor of 3 have the same load value for all three nodes? We are using a random partitioner and NetworkTopologyStrategy. Nodetool ring shows equal values for "Owns" but unequal values for "Load".
