  • Does the "Supporting Multiple Screens" document contradict itself?

    In the Supporting Multiple Screens document in the Android Dev Guide, some example screen configurations are given. One of them states that the small-ldpi designation is given to QVGA (240x320) screens with a physical size of 2.6"-3.0". According to this DPI calculator, a 2.8" QVGA display equates to 143 dpi. However, further down the page the document explicitly states that all screens over 140 dpi are considered "medium" density. So which is it, ldpi or mdpi? Is this a mistake? Does anyone know what the HTC Tattoo or similar device actually reports? I don't have access to any devices like this. Also, with the recent publishing of this document, I'm glad to see we finally have an explicit statement of the exact DPI ranges of the three density categories. But why haven't we been given the same for the small, medium, and large screen size categories? I'd like to know the exact ranges for all these. Thanks in advance for your help!

  • How to make an AJAX call immediately on document loading

    I want to execute an ajax call as soon as a document is loaded. What I am doing is loading a string that contains data that I will use for an autocomplete feature. This is what I have done, but it is not calling the servlet. I have removed the calls to the various JS scripts to make it clearer.   • mod_rewrite: Different rules on different domains, same www-root

    I have 8 domainnames that point to the same www-root. If the main domain is accessed, you are pointed to index.php, and from there on, the URL's are like: index.php?p=contact etc. If, however, you access one of the other 7 domains, that point to different units, you are initially pointed to: index_local.php, and from there on it goes like: index_local.php?p=contact etc. As you may see these URL's are very ugly, can I use mod_rewrite in this scenario to make it so that index.php AND index_local.php never show up in URL? Is there any better way to do this than the way I'm pointing the user now with multiple domains in the same www-root?

    I am trying to create a drop-down select menu with custom css (similar to the drop-down selection of language at http://translate.google.com/#). Basically, given this xml: <clubs> <club name="boca" position="1"> <field>bombonera</field> <field>bombonerita</field> </club> <club name="racing" position="19"> <field>cilindro</field> </club> </clubs> I create an element, $new = $clubs.CreateElement("Barracas") When I try to add this element to a non-root node i.e. $clubs.clubs.club += $new I get Cannot set "club" because only strings can be used as values to set XmlNode properties.     Hello I have a site which I have been testing in a sub-folder of my clients site-root. I had no log in problems during testing, but then I moved the new site files from a sub-directory to the main site root, and now I'm losing my logged in state after almost every page refresh in secure areas. I am running a $_session based login system that refreshes the session id on every page load, with a comparison value stored in the MySQL database. Does anyone have suggestions for what could be causing this problem?

    Hello, I am trying to determine document similarity between a single document and each of a large number of documents (n ~= 1 million) as quickly as possible. More specifically, the documents I'm comparing are e-mails; they are grouped (i.e., there are folders or tags) and I'd like to determine which group is most appropriate for a new e-mail. Fast performance is critical. My a priori assumption is that the cosine similarity between term vectors is appropriate for this application; please comment on whether this is a good measure to use or not! I have already taken into account the following possibilities for speeding up performance: Pre-normalize all the term vectors Calculate a term vector for each group (n ~= 10,000) rather than each e-mail (n ~= 1,000,000); this would probably be acceptable for my application, but if you can think of a reason not to do it, let me know! I have a few questions: If a new e-mail has a new term never before seen in any of the previous e-mails, does that mean I need to re-compute all of my term vectors? This seems expensive. Is there some clever way to only consider vectors which are likely to be close to the query document? Is there some way to be more frugal about the amount of memory I'm using for all these vectors? But in another user's system, it shows the following error. Notice: Undefined variable: setuprun in /usr/local/www/chat/setup.php on line 22. He is using FreeBSD 8.2 Stable with MySQL 5, PHP5 and Apache 2.2. Can anyone please help me to solve this error?

  • Emailing a fixed document through Outlook

    I've added functionality to an application that prints out a bunch of information to a FixedDOcument and sends this off to the printer. This works just fine, however the request is that there be an in application function that emails the document using OUtlook and its here that I come unstuck. I'd very much like to just reuse the class that makes the fixed document for printing to generate the text for email, but I'm struggling to do this. I've tried the following... Note that the content is all textual, so I don't really care if it gets sent as an attachment or as text in the emails body. Ideally if its sent as an attachment it won't be saved anywhere permanently. Any pointers?

    Hi, after processing my first steps in working with XML in java I am now at the point where I want to update some data in my XML/GPX file... Reaplacing it in my "Document" data type works great :) How here comes the question: how can I store the changed "document"-model back to my file? Do I have to do this by using the standart file-functions (via steams and so on) oder is the a more elegant way to do this? ;-) Here's the code I already worked out, maybe that could help.     Hello, I'm developing an application in Symfony and on localhost (XAMPP) I want to simulate the same conditions as on the webserver. The web server is configured as follows: /www => mydomain.com /foo => foo.mydomain.com /bar => bar.mydomain.com ... I'm going to put my Symfony application into /www direcotry so there'll be: /www /www/apps /www/apps/frontend /www/apps/frontend/... /www/apps/backend /www/apps/backend/... /www/cache /www/config ... and so on... /www/web The thing is that the document root is still set to the /www directory but Symfony expects it in the /www/web. Of course it will work if I call http://mydomain.com/web but I guess you understand this is quiet stupid solution. So my question is: Is there any way how can I change/bypass the default document root setting using .htaccess or whatever?

    Is there anyway to use the built-in DNN Menu module to display a menu based at a different root node other than the current tab node? Given the following structure: Page1 -child1_1 -child1_2 Page3 Page2(hidden) -child2_1 -child2_2 In this scenario I will be having 2 menus on this skin. One will be normal navigation based off of the current node and the other will be a set of 'static' links to pages located outside the current node. When on Page1 the normal navigation will show Page1, Page3 and the children of Page1 nested under Page1. The 'static' links will use 'Page2' as their root and will show child2_1 and child2_2.

  • Dual booting on separate hard drives

    I have windows XP professional installed on 1 hard drive and Ubuntu 10.10 on my second hard drive. On start up the computer completely skips the grub menu and boots straight into 10.10. I have tried running os-prober with the windows hard drive mounted and then updating grub but it didnt work. Any ideas? I have changed the boot order so that the HDD with xp on it is first however the computer still booted into linux. I tried running grub-install /dev/sda and got this /usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn: Sector 32 is already in use by FlexNet; avoiding it. This software may cause boot or other problems in future. Please ask its authors not to store data in the boot track.. /usr/sbin/grub-setup: warn: Sector 33 is already in use by FlexNet; avoiding it. This software may cause boot or other problems in future. No error reported I checked using disk utility and the code for my xp hard drive is sdb so i ran the camand grub-install /dev/sdb shich gave me this Installation finished. No error reported. So i rebooted but it still didnt work. Any other ideas?   • trouble resolving location in <xs:import > element in C#

    I'm using an XML schema document to validate incoming data documents, however the schema appears be failing during compilation at run time because it refers to a complex type which part of an external schema. The external schema is specified in a element at the top of the document. I had thought it might be an access problem, so I moved a copy of the external document to a localhost folder. I get the same error, so now I'm wondering if there might be some sort of issue with the use of the element. Then it fails with a type not declared error. The type that it's trying to find, KeyInfoType, is defined in one of the the documents in the import element. I've made sure the namespaces line up. I wondered if the # signs in the namespace definitions were causing a problem, but removing them had no effect, it just changed what the error looked like (i.e. "Type 'http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig:KeyInfoType' is not declared." versus "Type 'http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#:KeyInfoType' is not declared.") My suspicion is that there's something about the processing of the element that I'm missing. Any suggestions are very welcome. Thanks!
