  • How to automate login to Google API to get OAuth 2.0 token to access known user account

    Ok, so this question has been asked before here. In the response/answer to the question, the user tells him to store the token in the application (session and not db, although it doesn't matter where you store it). After going through the documentation on Google, it seems that the token has an expiration date after which it is no longer valid. Now, we could obviously automatically refresh the token every fixed interval, thereby prolonging the lifespan of the token, but for some reason, this manual process feels like a hack. My questions is: Is this most effective (/generally accepted) way to access google calendar/app data for a known user account by manually logging in and persisting the token in the application? Or is there another mechanism that allows us to programmatically login to this user account and go through the OAuth steps?

    I can't get my query string to work..please help... I know it is because I already have a mod rewrite to remove the .htm from the page name to return clean urls but I don't know what I need to do to accept a clean url and return the page.     Hello, in my website, I want to add a "invite friend of my contacts book" functionnality. I would like that the user fills the loggin form in my website. Then the website contacts Google Mail, Yahoo Mail, Live Mail and retrieves the contact list. In the Oauth protocole supported by Google and Yahoo, the user is redirected to a Google or Yahoo page (like Facebook) in order to permit the user to give permissions. But I saw two websites which didn't any redirections to get the contacts book (LinkedIn for a Google mail account and Theauteurs with a live mail.) Do you know how I can get a contacts book without redirect the user to Google, Microsoft or Yahoo website.

    I have always developed my projects using MAMP locally and once done simply uploaded everything to a live server. However, I'm wanting to integrate some FB functionality in my current project and I believe I'm correct in saying that it is not possible to fully test FB integration locally. My problem is I don't want to release the project I'm working on until it's finished (or at least nearly finished!) by placing it on a live server. I don't even want people to see a login screen or anything. Is there a way I can upload everything to my domain for testing purposes but prevent anyone apart from me from accessing the site?

    I am trying to get all stream data from a group (I have wall entries, discussions, events and photos).     Hello, If I have email address of a user, is there any way to find the profile of the user? I know it can be done using the uid and name of the user (GetInfo() or fql.query). The specific problem I am trying to address is when I search for a user using the name field, I end up getting multiple results (people with the same name). I have the email address of the user I want to search, so if I can search using email address, I will be able to reach to the specific user. Alternately, if there's a way to find uid for a given email address, I can get the user I am looking for. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

One named status like this... user_id | status --------+----------- 1 | random status from user 1 2 | random status from user 2 3 | random message from user 3 4 | staus from user 4 1 | second status for user1 etc... and another named users_following like this... user_id | is_following --------+----------- 1 | 2 1 | 3 2 | 1 3 | 2 meaning that user 1 is following both users 2 and 3 etc... So, let's say I chose user 1. What is the best query (performance wise) to show the status updates of users that user 1 is following, in this case users 2 and 3 currently I have something like SELECT * from status WHERE user_id IN(SELECT is_following FROM users_following WHERE user_id='1') LIMIT 0,5 but I don't think this is good for performance if a user was following thousands+ of users

    After trying to find a reference to an API/tutorial to such thing, I have come here. I would like to scan a specific group wall, pulling all posts from it, with PHP or C#. In the end, I would like to have a nested-array containing each posts, with the next details: An array of the related comments Likes Views Obviously, I don't ask for any code, only a reference to the related API I will need to use. EDIT: If this is not possible, should I consider cURL as an option?

    I tried the option of students.item["http://www.myurl.com"].comments.data.length. However, the item["http://www.myurl.com"] call is not working. If I take out the URL from JSON object and write the iterator with students.comments.data, it works.     Using a sequence diagram and example code could you explain to me how authentication works when the client is completely separated from the server? I.e.: you haven't generated any of the client using a server-side template engine, rather you are communicating using REST (SOAP xor HTTP) xor RPC (XML xor JSON) with javascript on the client-side. Specifically I would like to know the sequence of: Authenticating using basic auth (user+pass) with "my" server Authenticating using OAuth2, e.g.: with Facebook, with facebook's server then whatever extra steps are needed for "my" server And how it could be implemented.     In the Facebook javascript api there is a login function in which you specify extended permissions: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/javascript/FB.login One of these permissions is offline access. So I can save the facebook user's session key and assume it will not expire for a long time. The question I have is simple - how do I use the session key? I understand that the session key will last longer, but I don't understand how to use it in the Facebook API. For one of my products, a user must restart his/her browser and I would like to recognize them when they restart. The problem is that they are logged out of facebook, so they must login on my site again where I would rather just use offline access. Sample code would be great! Thanks
