Making a C# w/ WPF multiple frame text / pseudo-calendar GUI application [closed]

I am editing a recently asked question and making it specific, taking the advice of some people here. I would like to program of the following simple form: The user can produce X number of resizable frames (analogous to HTML frames). Each frame serves as a simple text editor, which you can type into and save the whole configuration including resized windows and text. The user should be able alternately "freeze" and present the information, and "unfreeze" and edit frames. I want to use C## with WPF, in Microsoft's Visual C#. I do not yet know this language. I am sure I can pick up the syntax, but I would like to ask about some general advice for how to structure such a program. I have never made a GUI program, let alone one that interfaces with a notepad or some basic text editor. Can someone either direct me to a good resource that will teach me how to do the above? Or outline the basic ingredients that such a program will require, keeping in mind that though I know some C and Python, I have no experience with GUIs or advanced programming generally? In particular I don't know how to incorporate this "text editor" aspect of the program, as well as the resizable frames I would greatly appreciate any help.

Show Windows 8 Start Menu on the primary monitor

When booting the machine the start menu appears originally on the primary screen as it should. Sometime during the course of the day the menu starts appearing on the secondary monitor instead of the primary. Single database, multiple system dependency

Consider an environment where we have a single, core database, with many separate systems using this one database. This leads to all of these systems have a common dependency, which ultimately introduces coupling between them. This means that we cannot always evolve systems independently of each other. Structural changes to the database (even if only intended for one, particular system), requires a full sweep test of ALL systems, and may require that other systems be 'patched' and subsequently released. This is especially tricky when you want to have separate teams working on different projects. What is a good 'pattern' to help in avoiding such coupling? I would imagine that a database should be exclusively depended on by one system. If other systems require data for whatever reason, they should request such from an API service of some kind. A drawback of this approach which comes to mind is performance: routing data between high-throughput systems through service calls is much slower than through a database connection.

Ok so I have created a spiraling animation for a football and I want to be able to run it on 2 sprites at the same time. This is what I have done. For some strange reason, additional timezones cannot be added to the clock using the date-time indicator in Gnome Classic (Ubuntu 12.04). I used Unity before I switched to Gnome Classic, and it was possible to add more timezones. Even in Gnome Classic I can see the other timezones in the menu of the date-time indicator which I added when I was still using Unity. When I go to System Settings Date and Time, there is no option for adding other timezones. How can I set additional timezones in Gnome Classic?

I need to make a query that creates 3 columns that come from 2 tables which have the following relations: TABLE 1 has Column ID that relates to TABLE 2 with column ID2 In TABLE 1 there is a column called user In TABLE 2 there is a column called names There can be 1 unique user but there can be many names associated to that user. If i do the following i get all data BUT the user column repeats itself for each name it has associated. What i want is for use to appear unique but the names columns appear with all the names associated to the user column but separated by commas, like the following: select user,names from TABLE1 left join TABLE2 on TABLE1.id = TABLE2.id This will show the users repeated everytime a name appears for that user. what i want is to appear like this: USER - NAMES cyrex - pedrox, rambo, zelda homeboy - carmen, carlos, tom, sandra jerry - seinfeld, christine ninja - soloboy etc....

I'm new to ecryptfs and I need some clarification on how it works. Suppose there are two root users userA and userB, If I mount some folder under userA: [userA@Dev] $ mount ecryptfs real img now I can visit the img folder to access decrypted data. My questions is: While userA is still in log in state. Can userB login and access the decrypted data? This is currently what I observed on my local machine, but I'm not sure if it was cause by my misconfiguration. If it is the case, how can I avoid other users from accessing the decrypted data while userA is in login state?

Debugging shows me, that the first call is performed correctly (world is being drawn), but the following call to all objects ONLY draws the objects, the rest of the scene is getting black. XAudio2 - Multiple instances of the same sound

Right now, I'm adding a rudimentary sound engine to my game. So far, I am able to load in a WAV file and play it once, then free up the memory when I close the game. However, the game crashes with a nice ArgumentOutOfBoundsException when I try to play another sound instance. Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. How to config multiple monitor with optimus?

I have an Acer Aspire 8951G running 12.04 Pangolin with bumblebee working beautifully. My problem is that when I connect either the VGA port or the HDMI to my projector there is no way I can see to properly set up the resolutions or colours. The default basic display driver sees the projector correctly, but messes up colours and resolutions (on hdmi) and resolutions on VGA. (Its a 1280 X 720 projector) Am I missing some sort of Xorg configuration? nvidia-xconfig does not seem to exist and running optirun nvidia-settings -c :8 opens the settings, but of course only for the one display. I just want a way to set a default config for my projector via VGA or preferably HDMI. Any help would be wonderful.

Back again from my last question. Now I was curious I use a foreach statement to use the same shot class. How would I go about doing collison detection. I tried to put in several places a foreach to look at all of them to see if they have reached the borders of my sprite hero but doesn't seem to do anything. I am trying to get my head around object oriented programming as it pertains to web development (more specifically PHP). I understand inheritance and abstraction etc, and know all the "buzz-words" like encapsulation and single purpose and why I should be doing all this. But my knowledge is falling short with actually creating objects that relate to the data I have in my database, creating a single object that a representative of a single entity makes sense, but what are the best practises when creating 100, 1,000 or 10,000 objects of the same type. for instance, when trying to display a list of the items, ideally I would like to be consistent with the objects I use, but where exactly should I run the query/get the data to populate the object(s) as running 10,000 queries seems wasteful. As an example, say I have a database of cats, and I want a list of all black cats, do I need to set up a FactoryObject which grabs the data needed for each cat from my database, then passes that data into each individual CatObject and returns the results in a array/object - or should I pass each CatObject it's identifier and let it populate itself in a separate query.

We have like 30 websites with almost no traffic (<~10 visits / day) which are currently hosted on a dedicated server. We are evaluating hosting on Amazon EC2 however I'm not sure how to do that properly. One (micro) instance per website is too expensive ~10 websites on one instance (using apache virtual hosts) make auto scaling impossible (or at least difficult) Or is cloud computing not suitable for such a usecase?

Multiple problems while installing Ubuntu 13.04 on LENOVO G500 laptop

Dear Community, I encountered several problems when installing Ubuntu on my new Lenovo G500 laptop. First I bumped in the problem (also reported by many other) of the black screen after booting Ubuntu. This problem I recould solve by changing the "quiet splash" record of GRUB to "nomodeset". Ubuntu install was successful then. After the installation, I had a black screen again when booting up for the first time. I booted up again with "nomodeset", and enabled the external AMD driver at Hardware Drivers. Booting still do not worked (only with nomodeset), and when I log in, the system gives me a "System program problem detected" message, and the system (desktop) does not load in. Please, can you advise me what to do? Shall I re-install Ubuntu? What are the steps to make my ubuntu work with this harver? Hardware: LENOVO G500 with IntelCore i5-3230M 3,2Ghz processor and AMD Radeon HD8570 integrated chip Thank you for your help in advance!

Only recognizes one of multiple partitions on SD card

Hello everybody, I split my sd card into 2 partitions. When i use usb-card-reader to read my sd card, only the one partition shows up on the screen, the other doesn't. I have run the command "sudo fdisk -l" and the result is the same, only one partition is recognized. But i do believe both partitions of my sd card work fine, because i still can boot my single-board computer with that sd card and run some programms, which are inside that unreadable partition. How can i access both partitions of my sd card? Does anyone know how to solve this kind of problem? I really appreciate your help.

I've been trying to get an answer to this question on other forums (the folks at SuperUser thought this was the place I needed to post) and via my connections, but I haven't gotten very far. Hopefully you guys can help me find an answer. I've got a dozen old subdomains that have been indexed by Google. These have been indexed as both HTTP AND HTTPS. I've managed to redirect all the subdomains properly, provided they are not HTTPS, but can't get any of the HTTPS subdomains to property redirect. Here's the code I'm using: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^subdomain1.mysite.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mysite.com/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^subdomain2.mysite.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mysite.com/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^subdomain3.mysite.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mysite.com/$1 [R=301,L] This works great until someone goes to: https://subdomain2.mysite.com$ which is not redirected back to http://www.mysite.com$ How can I get this to work? Additionally, I'm guessing there is an easier way to make it happen than setting up a dozen pairs of RewriteCond/RewriteRule? Is there any way to do this in just a few lines, including one where I list all the subdomains? I'd actually also like to redirect everything on https://www.mysite.com$ to http://www.mysite.com$ except for 3 folders. These are mysite.com/secure, mysite.com/store, mysite.com/user. Is there any good way to add this to the .htaccess file?
