  • Is there anyway to prevent onbeforeunload event from triggering when using internet explorer

    I have a function that is suppose to trigger when user closes their browser and I have put the code in the "window.onbeforeunload" function. The thing is every time if I reloads the page in Internet Explorer, the onbeforeunload event will also trigger which is a problem because I only wants it to trigger only when the user closes or navigates away from the current page but not on a page refresh/reload. Therefore I'm not sure if onbeforeunload is intended to trigger even on a page refresh/reload and if it is intended to, then is there another way to work round it? Thanks

" if found sentence should not break like abbreviation U.K or Mr. For this again there are two parts before breaking after breaking for example if the rule is <rule break="no"> <beforebreak>\s*[0-9]+\.</beforebreak> <afterbreak>\s</afterbreak> </rule> Which says if the pattern "\s*[0-9]+.\s" is found the segment should not break. how do I implement using javascript, my be split function is not enough ?

    Hi, I have an edit form that uses an ajax form to submit to the controller. Depending on the data submitted I redirect the user to one of two pages (by returning a partial view). Both pages rely on javascript/jquery and neither use anything common between the pages. What is the best way to initialise these javascripts on each page? I know there is the AjaxOption OnComplete but both pages are quite dynamic depending on the Model passed and I would rather keep the javascript for both pages seperate rather than having a common method.   • How do I pan the contents of a div when the right mouse button is dragged?

    I need a cross browser way of capturing the right mouse click, preventing the default context menu and making it where when the user drags the mouse they can pan the contents of a div. This is largely similar to Google maps in that they will grip the contents and drag to see what they want. No external libraries please. I am already capturing the events, and know that this will prevent default actions: if (evt.preventDefault) { evt.preventDefault(); } else { evt.returnValue = false; } But this doesn't prevent the context menu AFAIK. Edit: I really am unsure about how to prevent the context menu and what the best way to manipulate the scroll bars would be? examples would be great

It displays the javascript from the main page, but I need to debug the script in the external files. I have googled various articles that show a screenshot of an IE8 debugger with a drop-down for selecting which script to debug, but my debugger does not feature this. Can anyone help me with this?     I'd like to delay-load a Java Applet in the same way that SwfObject loads Flash SWFs-- you supply it a div id and it replaces the div's contents. This would allow the whole page to load before the Applet starts. However, I'd also like to use a best-practices Javascript library like deployJava.js or applet-fu. The problem with these libraries is that they only use document.writeln-- if you use them after the DOM loads they will clobber the page. Are there any Applet-loading JavaScript libraries that allow for delay-loading?

I have googled and reorganized with my code countless times but have not found a suitable solution. (The code just doesn't "feel right".) Here's how I'm going about it right now.     For automated testing reasons I want to detect if the browser has encountered JavaScript errors for a page. The type of things that would cause the red numbers in the bottom right in Firebug or yellow warning icon in the Internet Explorer status bar. These JS errors could come from any one of a large numbers of scripts. How in JavaScript can I detect these browser errors? Cross browser solutions prefered, but hey, I'll take anything! As a bonus it would also be great to know the script that caused the error.

  • Buttons OnClick Event not firing when it causes a textboxes onChange event to fire first

    I have a few textboxes and button to save their values on a webpage. The onchange event of the textboxes fires some js which adds the changed text to a js array. The ok button when clicked flushes this to the database via a webservice. This works fine except when the onchange event is caused by clicking the ok button. In this scenario the onchange of the textboxes still fires but the onClick event of the button does not. Now I've rem'd out everything actually inside the functions that are being called beforehand but the problem persists. But if i remove the call altogether it works (???)

  • How do I refresh TinyMCE for the code that I add with JavaScript

    Hi, I need to insert code for flash to TinyMCE with JavaScript. If I insert the same code using HTML menu of TinyMCE, it automatically add flash icon to the editor. But if I insert the code using JavaScript, the actual code is inserted but it shows nothing on the screen. One trick I found is toggle TinyMCE to normal textarea and back to TinyMCE. Then, it shows the flash icon. Is there a better way to do that? Thanks. Sam
