I added cxf-transports-http-jetty.jar as well. Has anyone experienced this kind of problem and found a solution? It seems to be a classpath issue, added the cxf-rt-frontend-jaxws.jar by hand and it works... Somehow the maven dependency doesn't get added to the classpath. Thanks in advance, karl

    I am using Spring for the first time and must be doing something wrong. I have a project with several Bean implementations and now I am trying to create a test class with Spring Test and JUnit. I am trying to use Spring Test to inject a customized bean into the test class. Here is my test-applicationContext.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="............."> <bean id="MyUuidFactory" class="com.myapp.UuidFactory" scope="singleton" > <property name="typeIdentifier" value="CLS" /> </bean> <bean id="ThingyImplTest" class="com.myapp.ThingyImplTest" scope="singleton"> <property name="uuidFactory"> <idref local="MyUuidFactory" /> </property> </bean> </beans> The injection of MyUuidFactory instance goes along with the following code from within the test class: private UuidFactory uuidFactory; public void setUuidFactory(UuidFactory uuidFactory) { this.uuidFactory = uuidFactory; } However, when I go to run the test (in Eclipse or command line) I get the following error (stack trace omitted for brevity): Caused by: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'MyImplTest' defined in class path resource [test-applicationContext.xml]: Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.ConversionNotSupportedException: Failed to convert property value of type 'java.lang.String' to required type 'com.myapp.UuidFactory' for property 'uuidFactory'; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot convert value of type [java.lang.String] to required type [com.myapp.UuidFactory] for property 'uuidFactory': no matching editors or conversion strategy found Funny thing is, the Eclipse/Spring XML editor shows errors of I misspell any of the types or idrefs. If I leave the bean in, but comment out the dependency injection, everything work until I get a NullPointerException while running the test...which makes sense.

    I have VS 2008 Professional Edition. After the installation (which included SQL Server 2008), I decided to install SQL Server 2008 Express Edition with Advanced Tools (so I could get SQL Server Management Studio on it). So I uninstalled the SQL Express that came with VS 2008, and installed the standalone SQL Server Express 2008 version with advanced tools. However, When I try to logon onto SQL Server Management Studio using: .\SQLEXPRESS as Server name and Windows Authentication as the authentication, I get the following message: TITLE: Connect to Server ------------------------------ Cannot connect to .\SQLEXPRESS. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.     Hi all, I've an Enum class public enum MyEnum{ ABC; } than my 'Mick' class has this property private Map<MyEnum, OtherObj> myMap; I've this spring xml configuration. <util:map id="myMap"> <entry key="ABC" value-ref="myObj" /> </util:map> <bean id="mick" class="com.x.Mick"> <property name="myMap" ref="myMap" /> </bean> and this is fine. I'd like to replace this xml configuration with Spring annotations. Do you have any idea on how to autowire the map? The problem here is that if I switch from xml config to the @Autowired annotation (on the myMap attribute of the Mick class) Spring is throwing this exception nested exception is org.springframework.beans.FatalBeanException: Key type [class com.MyEnum] of map [java.util.Map] must be assignable to [java.lang.String] Spring is no more able to recognize the string ABC as a MyEnum.ABC object. Any idea? Thanks

    How do I get Spring to load Hibernate's properties from hibernate.cfg.xml? We're using Spring and JPA (with Hibernate as the implementation).     Correct me if anything is wrong. As I understand, all Spring functionality, namely DI works when beans are got thru Spring Context, ie getBean() method. Otherwise, none can work, even if my method is marked @Transactional and I will create the owning class with a new operator, no transaction management will be provided. I use Tomcat 6 as a servlet container. So, my question is: how to make Servlet methods managed by Spring framework. The issue here is that I use a framework, and its servlets extend the functionality of basic java Servlets, so they have more methods. Still, web.xml is present in an app as usual. The thing is that I do not control the servlets creation flow, I can only override a few methods of each servlet, the flow is basically written down in some xml file, but I control this process using a graphical gui. So, basically, I only add some code to a few methods of each Servlet. How to make those methods managed by Spring framework? The basic thing I need to do is making these methods transactional (@Transactional).

  • How to instantiate spring bean without being referenced from aop:aspect

    Using Spring and Java; I have a pointcut which works OK. Now I want to remove the pointcut and AOP from the spring and just trigger the event with an event from inside the java code but I want "myAdvice" bean still called via Spring and its properties set. I want to get ridoff all advice things even in java code, no more advice or any trace of AOP, I already have a nice event system working. I just want to instantiate my bean via Spring. When I remove the second code block (one starting with "aop:config") then I noticed the bean "myAdvice" is not called and instantiated anymore.   • Spring Integration 1.0 RC2: Streaming file content?

    I've been trying to find information on this, but due to the immaturity of the Spring Integration framework I haven't had much luck. Here is my desired work flow: New files are placed in an 'Incoming' directory Files are picked up using a file:inbound-channel-adapter The file content is streamed, N lines at a time, to a 'Stage 1' channel, which parses the line into an intermediary (shared) representation. This parsed line is routed to multiple 'Stage 2' channels. Each 'Stage 2' channel does its own processing on the N available lines to convert them to a final representation. This channel must have a queue which ensures no Stage 2 channel is overwhelmed in the event that one channel processes significantly slower than the others. The final representation of the N lines is written to a file. There will be as many output files as there were routing destinations in step 4. *'N' above stands for any reasonable number of lines to read at a time, from [1, whatever I can fit into memory reasonably], but is guaranteed to always be less than the number of lines in the full file. How can I accomplish streaming (steps 3, 4, 5) in Spring Integration? It's fairly easy to do without streaming the files, but my files are large enough that I cannot read the entire file into memory. As a side note, I have a working implementation of this work flow without Spring Integration, but since we're using Spring Integration in other places in our project, I'd like to try it here to see how it performs and how the resulting code compares for length and clarity.

  • Help for choosing a cost effective game server for Flash client

    I am developing a flash-based game primarily for desktops, to be hosted on facebook platform (like cityville, sims social etc). The gameplay doesn't involve real-time communication between players unlike an mmorpg. Here each player plays in his own world without any knowledge of other online players. I've written almost 95% of the game logic in actionscript on the client side. I used Smartfox Server pro on the server side (mostly used for getting data from the DB) and the entire server code is an extension written in java. I'm using json as the protocol for communication. Although I love smartfox server, as an indie, its tough for me to afford the unlimited users license. Morever its limited just to one machine. So I'm looking for an alternative to smartfox server now. The reason for choosing smartfox server earlier was to use the server properties supported by it. Server properties on smartfox server take advantage of the socket connection and are essentially server side objects in java which store some data for the player which he can change frequently during the game. And when he logs out of the game, the extension can write out the final state in the DB (I'm using MySQL). This significantly reduces the number of DB UPDATE/INSERT calls made during the game. I love the way this works since the data is secure as its on the server side and smartfox server is known to be scalable. (although I'm not sure whether this approach is used widely by gaming industry or not, since this is not an mmorpg, I'm putting all player in the lobby). So my question is whether any of the free and community supported servers like reddwarf, firebase, BlazeDS etc can provide a similar architecture so that I can use server properties without many code changes? EDIT : I am not insisting on the exact same feature (thats asking too much!), but atleast a viable messaging system on the server so that I can send actionscript objects from the client using json/binary so that its fast. OR maybe some completely different way to implement what I need here. Thanks in advance.

It's awesome if this solution is able to install on a high bandwidth server and gets a stream from a low bandwidth server and serves it for many clients. (simply because the original server hasn't enough BW to serve media for many clients) (My server is a LAMP server, but I'm looking for a good solution for one of my clients to stream his audio for one hour every week)

  • SQL Server PowerShell Provider follows the Version of PowerShell on the Host and other errata

    There may be some misunderstanding on how the PowerShell Provider for SQL Server works. I’ve written an article or two explaining that you can use PowerShell with SQL Server, without having the SQL Server 2008 (or higher) provider around. After all, PowerShell just uses .NET, and SQL Server “Server Management Objects” or SMO listen to that interface as well. In SQL Server 2008 and higher we created a “MiniShell” for PowerShell that gives you the ability to treat a SQL Server Instance as a drive (called a “Provider” or path or drive) and a few commands (called command-lets). Using these two simple constructs you can move around SQL Server quickly and work with the objects it holds. I read the other day where someone stated that we had “re-compiled” PowerShell, so that you would have version 1.0 from SQL Server and 2.0 on your new server. Not so! Drop to a SQLPS prompt and a PowerShell prompt and type this in each: $PSVersionTable They should return the same value. You can think of a MiniShell as simply a compiled “profile” that gives you those providers and command-lets automatically – that’s all. In fact, you can load the SMO libraries yourself without the SQL Server 2008 Provider anywhere in sight. I do this all the time, since the MiniShell also has other restrictions. Also remember that if you run a PowerShell script as a SQL Agent Job step type (in 2008 and higher) that you’re running under the context of the account that starts Agent – I think most folks know this, but it’s good to keep in mind. There’s a re-written section of Books Online that goes over working with this very nicely – also covers the question “How to I connect to another server using the SQL Server PowerShell Provider” (hint: It’s just CD) and “How do I load all the SMO stuff if I don’t want to use the Provider” and more.   • Cannot connect to remote mail server for sending emails in ASP.NET

    I want to migrate a web application from a Windows Server 2003 to a Windows Server 2008 R2. All works fine except sending emails from the application. If I configure the application to use the smtp server on "localhost" it works, but changing it to the "real" host name (e.g. mail.example.org) no mail is sent. The error message says, that the remote server needs a secure connection or smtp authentication. But since it works when using "localhost" instead of the host name I doubt that this is the problem. Also it's unlikely a problem with the mail server, I also tried it with another one. So for me it seems like the firewall is blocking the outgoing connection to the mail server. I tried to open port 25, but it still did not work. Maybe I just did it the wrong way. Update: For clarifying my setup: I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 with hMailServer installed (set up for some of the hosted domains) For the website I'm talking about I need to use an external mail server (totally different hosting provider) Apparently I was a bit off the track. It seems like it works when using connecting to the local mail server either with the host name "localhost" or "mail.somedomain.com" (while somedomain.com is set up in my mail server). But when using the host name of the external mail server ("mail.externaldomain.com") it seems like it tries to connect to the local server again, although this domain is not set up in the mail server. Thanks to Evan Anderson for the tip to use telnet - why I have not thought of it myself?... :-) Note, the website www.externaldomain.com is hosted on my server but the DNS entries are maintained by the other hosting provider. "externaldomain.com" is the only entry which points to my server all other records (MX, subdomains) are pointing to the other server. So I think the question is now, how do i bring my server to connect to the external mailserver. Do I have to configure this in my mail server or is it a windows server thing?

    I have installed a fresh 10.04 server onto a laptop on a home network as a VMware machine and set network connection to 'Bridged: connect directly to the physical network' from within VMware and rebooted the server. It then loses its IP address. 'dhclient eth0' says "No working leases in persistent database - sleeping" DHCP is working fine on the wi-fi router. The laptop is wired to a wireless router and from there wirelessly to a desktop. Desktop and Laptop can ping each other from Windows. I can ping the VM from Windows on the same laptop, but not from the desktop. Strangely ping has started to resolve hostnames to IPv6 addresses and not IPv4. Don't know whether that's connected? A kick in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I've been an Ubuntu desktkop user for a few years, but new to ubuntu servers.

  • Install Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver for Windows Server 2008 R2 x64

    According to Intel and Dell, by board is technically a 'desktop' board and they therefore do not support Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller drivers for Windows Server 2008 (R2 x64). I'm trying to find a workaround. I found an entry on someone who tried to tackle this, but I can't make his fix work for me. Below, I have copied both his entry, and my reply. I have got the intel USB3 drivers working at full speed in win server 2008r2 you have to edit the following file : 1. mup.xml in change the "Windows7" to "W2K8" 2. in setup.if2 under [groups] line starting with "HSCSDRIVER " change the "IsOS( ... )" entry to "IsOS(WIN2008_R2,WIN2008_R2_MAXSP)" inf files for all copy the content of the [Intel.NTAMD64.6.1] group to the [Intel.NTAMD64.6.2] group driver folders. here i am not entirely sure which is correct so there are some double up's. in the drivers folder copy the "Win7" folder to "win2008" , "win2008_r2" and "x64" ie your drivers folder should now contain the "win2008" , "win2008_r2" and "x64" folders and they contain contents of the win7 folder (the inf files should of already been fixed) Run install , It should install properly and work now. Behind the error, the 'Setup Progress' shows the current step as "Copying File: C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver\Drivers\iusb3xhc.man". I've checked the installation files, and iusb3xhc.man seems to be a viable file in all of the Windows 2008 sub-directories of the Drivers folder. Therefore I don't see how the file could be missing and I doubt that it is corrupted, (although it does NOT exist in the \Drivers\HCSwitch folder). I opened 'Setup.if2', and there are two aspects to the step of copying iusb3xhc.man that caught my eye. First, the steps immediately preceding are set to 'error=ignore'.     I have a project that is build up from several OSGi bundles. One of them is a generic Database bundle that defines a DataSource that can be used throughout the project. The spring bean definition of this service is: <osgi:service interface="javax.sql.DataSource"> <bean class="org.postgresql.ds.PGPoolingDataSource"> <property name="databaseName" value="xxx" /> <property name="serverName" value="xxx" /> <property name="user" value="xxx" /> <property name="password" value="xxx" /> </bean> </osgi:service> Now, when using this DataSource is a different bundle, we get an error: No suitable driver found for jdbc:postgresql://localhost/xxx I have tried the following to add the org.postgresql.Driver to the DriverManager: Instantiated an empty bean for that Driver in the spring context, like this: <bean class="org.postgresql.Driver" /> Instantiated the Driver statically in one of the classes, like this: Class.forName("org.postgresql.Driver"); Added a file META-INF\services\java.sql.Driver with the content org.postgresql.Driver None of these solutions seems to help.

    The problem doesn't seemed to have anything to do with Hibernate. As I've commented the Hibernate stuff but I'm still getting it. If I comment out this line message = staffDAO.searchForStaff(search); in my controller file, it goes through ok. But I don't see anything wrong with searchForStaff function. It's a very simple function that just returns the string "test" and run system.out.println("test").     We observed that sudden increase of SQL connections during a specific hour, it is a backend of a SharePoint 2007 Farm. From SharePoint 2007 Perspective: 1. Incremental crawling is scheduled at that time and few of the Timer jobs (normal timer jobs) are scheduled to run every mins / per 10mins. 2. Number of user requests are less. From SQL Server 2005 Perspective: 1. Transaction log backup is scheduled at that time 2. No other scheduled jobs are running at that time. so, how to narrow down the issue, what would be causing the sudden SQL connection increase?

    Ok, I'm having the exact same problem as in this question http://serverfault.com/questions/59635/outbound-ftp-on-server-2008-r2-stalls but the accepted answer didn't help me much... I followed the third step of this http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/309/configuring-ftp-firewall-settings/ guide in order to configure my firewall for FTP, and I am able to authenticate, however, the data channel doesn't seem to be passing through the firewall. If I disable the firewall, everything works fine. Hope someone can help me, as this is really starting to annoy me. Best regards, x3ro

  • SQL Server 2005 jobs running twice in a row - using LiteSpeed

    Howdy! I have a SQL server (2005) backing up to a network share, who has a group of maintenance plans setup through LiteSpeed to backup different DBs. They were just set up to run two sub plans on different schedules for full/diff backups and did that just fine for a couple of months. Then I added "Clean Up" task to the subplans. Ever since that point, the backup creates another bak right after the first bak job is completed. I removed the clean up item from the subplan, and it still creates two baks when ran. Both the SQL Activity Monitor and the machine's windows application log show just one job being executed. I did this same thing to a couple of other servers backing up to the same location, and they are behaving correctly. Thoughts?

  • Intermittent login issues to SQL Server

    My website is an ASP.NET 2.0 website connecting to a SQL Express Database. Every now and then I get the following error message when I load my site. Login Failed for Username 'MyUsername'. Then on another time I get the following error message. A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The specified network name is no longer available.) After pressing F5 a few times it will go away. It is very intermittent and it drives me nuts as the company hosting my website cant figure out why this is happening. Then it works then it does not, then it does then it does not! Any idea???
