• Are GUID primary keys bad in theory, or just practice?

  Whenever I design a database I automatically start with an auto-generating GUID primary key for each of my tables (excepting look-up tables) I know I'll never lose sleep over duplicate keys, merging tables, etc. To me it just makes sense philosophically that any given record should be unique across all domains, and that that uniqueness should be represented in a consistent way from table to table. I realize it will never be the most performant option, but putting performance aside, I'd like to know if there are philosophical arguments against this practice?

  Is there a way to directly write result returned from TSQL / stored procedure to a text file (not using CTRL + T = Result to Text). As this TSQL will be dynamic in one of my service routine. Whenever I call this service routine it generates SQL Statement = executes and here I want to direct it to text file by passing the filepath as parameter. How can this be done ? Thanks

One argument would be that by using custom sections we don’t have to recompile code when we change data, but that’s a weak argument, especially if we’re using Web Sites, which get recompiled automatically whenever code changes! My problem is that the tab is using window's icon for unknown file-type, I tried with Icon property of Window, Icon gets assigned but still problem is when I run application, task bar Tab initially displays window's icon for unknown file-type and when window-load completes it changes to the Icon assigned.
