  Hi, I have an array list of objects in my application. private static ArrayList<Player> userList=new ArrayList<Player>(); In my application, I am converting this list to byte array and then sending it to other clients. At client When I am trying to cast it back to the ArrayList, its giving me casting error. I am doing this in client side after receiving this list as byte array: ArrayList<Player> pl = (ArrayList<Player>) toObject(receivedByteArray); where toObject is my function to convert the byte array to object; Any Suggestions please !!!   In outlook 2007's To-Do bar (the bar on the right with the Calendar, your task list and upcoming appointments), is there a way to hide a specific series of appointments? I have daily appointments for scrum meetings, but I'm not interested in seeing the whole list of them. I have a feeling this isn't possible, but anyone got any ideas?

Consider: Perhaps a list the 50 United States names is an easy thing to find (does one include DC?) , but the countries are not. Nearly every site you find has a differing list with all of the political goings on over the years, and they become outdated quickly. What's the best practice regarding population of these kinds of lists? Is there an official list somewhere that one uses to populate these kinds of formal/official fields? Where do you get this data from, when it's not exactly specified in the specs?

• Problem with Refreshing data in ExpendableListView

  Hi! My problem is when I want to refresh data in ExpendableListView while being in that current activity. I create adapter and when I want to add new data to list I call again constructor of that adapter(it is my private variable) with all new data....and then I call onContentChanged() method to redraw my list. But what happens is that I cant expand my list any more...like it is blocked or something and logcat isn't saying anything...   I want to create a to-do list in Excel that automatically sorts the to-do entries in a list, in order of ones to do first (closest deadlines). I would also like a section that shows the tasks for today and another for high-priority tasks coming up within a week. I have not programmed in Excel before. I know Python and JavaScript, but want an Excel solution that runs inside Excel (maybe using VBA, the Excel programming language). Is this sort of thing possible in Excel?

  I am trying to prepare a complete list of behaviour that Gmail POP3 exhibits, that you wouldn’t expect to generally find in a POP3 server. For example, Gmail appears to ignore the DELE (delete) command from a POP3 client. Instead, it implements its own delete and archive strategy. The purpose of preparing a list is to avoid developers testing a POP3 client against the Gmail POP3 server and then assuming that all POP3 servers behave in the same way. Can anyone provide a more complete list of non-standard behaviour?

  I have a table with lets say 2 columns. id number, and value. Value is a string (var char). Lets say i have a number x, and a list of numbers a1, a2, a3, a4, a5..... where x is not in the list. All of these numbers correspond to a unique row in the table. I want to know if the string value for x in the table is contained in one of the string values for any table entry for a1, a2, a3, a4... Lets say i have these rows: x, aaa a1, bbb a2, ccc a3, ddd a4, aaabbbcc then i want somehow a confirmation that yes, the value for x is included in one of the values in my list of numbers (a4 contains x). I know i can do this in a couple queries and shove it down some PHP and get my answer. But can i do this with one query?

• Mechanize form submit not going to the correct response page, no errors as to why. Something I'm doing?

  I threw this all in one controller for testing purposes. My code fills out the form correctly for adding a new address to your Amazon account. There are two buttons that submit this form, one takes you to add a new address which is what I don't want, and the other is just a Save & Continue input/image. When I submit the form via that button, as I do below, the form is still on the page, filled out as I have with my code. Inspecting the page titles, they're the same. There are no discernible errors that Mechanize or Amazon spit back.   Hi all I was trying to confirm my understanding of "standby list" and "modified list" as stated in this article. Is it true that "Cached memory" (as shown in the image below) refers to memory that is currently cached (available for use), and memory that was previous cached (previously available for use), but currently used (now not available for use) ? So if x = "Cached memory" (1184), y = "modified cache pages", z = "cached and were modified", x = y + z holds true ?

• Copy and paste RESULTS of a file search

  In order for me to get the results of a file search in a readable format, I use the following command line in a command prompt: dir *.* /s > myResultList.txt I then open that list in Excel, use fixed width format to get rid of all the stuff I don't want and then I have my list. Seems like a lot to do for something so simple. Does anyone out there have any recommendations for something that would work better than this?

  Hi, I am generating some list items as a result of a search, and I want to attach some data to each list element from the search (possibly a bad idea to merge ui and data), but now curious about it. I am doing this: var element = $("<li>Hello</li>); element.mydata = "foo"; element.appendTo("#panelParent"); so I'm just assigning my stuff to element.mydata. My click handler reports that no such data exists for the element when clicked: $('#panelParent').delegate('li', 'click', function() { // this.mydata is undefined. }); where did it go to? I could keep the data external to the a list item element, was wondering if there's a convenient way like this to just keep it bound though? Thanks

  I'm using Flex 3.3, with hamcrest-as3 used to test for item membership in a list as part of my unit tests: var myList: IList = new ArrayCollection(['a', 'b', 'c']).list; assertThat(myList, hasItems('a', 'b', 'c')); The problem is that apparently the IList class doesn't support for each iteration; for example, with the above list, this will not trace anything: for each (var i: * in myList) { trace (i); } However, tracing either an Array or an ArrayCollection containing the same data will work just fine. What I want to do is (without having to tear apart my existing IList-based interface) be able to treat an IList like an Array or an ArrayCollection for the purposes of testing, because that's what hamcrest does: override public function matches(collection:Object):Boolean { for each (var item:Object in collection) { if (_elementMatcher.matches(item)) { return true; } } return false; } Is this simply doomed to failure? As a side note, why would the IList interface not be amenable to iteration this way? That just seems wrong.

  I often use respond_to do |format| ... end in Rails for my Restful actions, but I don't know what the ideal solution is for handling various forms of, say, html responses. For instance, view1 that calls action A might expect back html with a list of widgets wrapped in a UL tag, while view2 expects the same list of widgets wrapped in a table. How does one Restfully express that not only do I want back an html formatted response, but I want it wrapped in a table, or in a UL, OL, options, or some other common list-oriented html tag?

  So I keep having this small problem where I have something like func :: a -> b -> [a] -- or basically any a-> ...-> [a] where ... is any types -> func x y = func' [x] y -- as long as they are used to generate a list of [a] from x func' :: [a] -> b -> [a] func = undefined --situation dependant generates a list from each element and returns it as one long list should I keep it like this? should I use func' hidden by a where? should I only use the [a] - b - [a] version and leave the responsibility of passing [variable] to the callee? I might well need to compose these functions and might want to mess around with the order so I'm leaning towards option 3. What do you think?

  Hey, I want to write a program that outputs a list of libraries that I should link to given source code (or object) files (for C or C++ programs). In *nix, there are useful tools such as sdl-config and llvm-config. But, I want my program to work on Windows, too. Usage: get-library-names -l /path/to/lib a.cpp b.cpp c.cpp d.obj Then, get-library-names would get a list of function names that are invoked from a.cpp, b.cpp, c.cpp, and d.obj. And, it'll search all library files in /path/to/lib directory and list libraries that are needed to link properly. Is there such tool already written? Is it not trivial to write a such tool? How do you find what libraries you should link to? Thanks.

My problem is following: I would like to create a bash script with read the active contacts names from the file and compare it with the directories.   Hi, I have a sortable list. When a new item is dropped into the list (from a draggable), I'd like to get access to it to perform some operations on it. This is what I have: $("#mySortableList").sortable({ receive: function(event, ui) { alert("this is the dropped item: " + ui.item.toString()); } }).disableSelection(); so "ui.item" is the element that was dropped, but it's not the duplicated item that will now be part of my list. • Mysql - Join matches and non-matches

  This is related to my other question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2579249/managing-foreign-keys I am trying to join the table of matches and non-matches. So I have a list of interests, a list of users, and a list of user interests. I want the query to return all interests, whether the user has the interest or not (should be null in that case), only where the user = x. Every time I get the query working its only matching interests that the user specifically has, instead of all interests whether they have it or not.
