  • BASH_ENV ignored on solaris?

    In my .bash_profile, executed for both my interactive and non-interactive logins are BASH_ENV=$HOME/.myinteractivestuff export BASH_ENV doing this for bash on Linux works fine, but on Solaris is not sourced: bash --version GNU bash, version 3.00.16(1)-release (sparc-sun-solaris2.10) Curiously, if I invoke screen within my login shell, BASH_ENV is then read. Are any restrictions on when $BASH_ENV is respected on Solaris? In my case I'm logging in with ssh using putty, but also tried unix to unix ssh, and telnet and see the same. Note that I know that my BASH_ENV variable assignment is being executed since I can echo this variable after login without any trouble (ie: ruling out the obvious possibility that my .bash_profile is also not being read).

    I have assigned the 80% height of the viewport to my div as height. In Button click i have displayed the height of the div. This works fine in ie9, ie10.   • Bootstrapped Ubuntu 12.04 EC2 instance. Where to find log?

    So I bootstrapped a shell script to install and run a bunch of tasks. Looks like the it ran for the most part, but I added one part and that was formatting an extra EBS volume. Pretty straightforward: mkfs.ext4 /dev/xvdf mkdir –m 000 /vol01 echo “/dev/xvdf /vol01 auto noatime 0 0” | sudo tee –a /etc/fstab sudo mount /vol01 I was able to install MongoDB, NGINX and Forever. I selected to use /dev/xdvf in the AWS console and see it. The 3rd line is not in fstab either. I've searched through various logs in /var/log/ but I don't really see much indicating the execution of the bootstrap. Logs that I see and looked through: auth.log boot.log dmesg dpkg.log syslog udev

    I currently have a scrolling anchor animation that also adds an "active" class to the anchor clicked. I am trying to fit the below function into the works as well, so say someone clicks "anchor 1", "anchor 1" will get an active class and the window will scroll to that location. But, after that has happened say the user manually begins scrolling down the page, I want the active class to be removed. The problem I am running up against now is that the below function will happen when the scrolling animation from a clicked anchor is taking place.   • Regularly update database without browser/user

    I currently have a MySQL database which I was hoping to use to store regularly updated data from a temperature sensor connected to the internet. I currently have a page that, when opened, will grab the current temperature and the current timestamp and add it as an entry to the database, but I was looking for a way to do that without me refreshing the page every 5 seconds. Detail: The data comes from an Arduino Ethernet, posted to an IP address. Currently, I'm using cURL to grab the data from the IP, add a timestamp and save it to the DB. Obviously only updates when the page is refreshed (it uses PHP). Here is a live feed of the data - http://wetdreams.org.uk/ChrisProject/UI/live_graph_two.html TL;DR - Basically I need a middle man to grab the data from the IP and post it to a MySQL Edit: Thanks for all the advice. There might be a little bit of confusion, I'm looking for a solution that (ideally) doesn't require a computer to be on at all (other than the Server containing Database). Since I'm looking to store data over long periods of time (weeks), I'd like to set it up and leave a script running on the server (or Arduino) that gets the temp and posts it to the Database. In my head I would like to have a page on the server that automatically (without any browser open, or any other prompting other than a timer) calls a PHP script. Hope that clears things up!

    I've got a very simple project in FlashBuilder 4.5. It's a mobile application of type ViewNavigatorApplication with a single view, MapView. In this class, I'm attempting to get a reference to this map component. So far, I can get a reference to the top-level application, its ViewNavigator and the NavigationStack of said ViewNavigator. However, I cannot find a way to access the MapView, much less the map I've declared within it. I'm aware of methods like firstView() and activeView(), but I want an absolute solution, one that retrieves the view regardless of whether or not it's first or active. I've tried navigator.getChildByName("MapView") with no luck.

But i need the div id="page-{id}" to be invisible to begin with on pageload and then visible when its button is being hovered over. can anyone help ?

I want to do backups through EBS Snapshots as explained in the article above Question: Mongodb says - that I need to mongo shelldb.runCommand({fsync:1,lock:1}); -- this will lock the db for writing ....run snapshot creation... mongo shell db.$cmd.sys.unlock.findOne(); -- this will unlock the db for writing so do I need to unlock the DB for writing after I issued the comand ec2-create-snapshot or after it's finished and the actual snapshot is created thanks, Dmitry

If i send the data as either new or old, the script works and outputs as expected. If the posted data is neither new or old but all instead, it fails and don't show any errors or respond anything back. (I've monitored via dev tools aswell) So, I tried this if ($_POST['info-type'] == $a || $b) { $info = $_POST['info-type']; $var = "SELECT * FROM `tld` WHERE type = '".$var."'"; } elseif ($_POST['info-type'] == 'all'){ $query = "SELECT * FROM `tld` "; } But the script still fails. If i fully remove the IF statements and use the query without the WHERE clause like it is after the elseif, it works?

    It's neither a secure idea nor one I'd recommend elsewhere, but I have a situation when occasionally it takes a while for my Ansible ad-hoc command to respond. I'd love to pipe or args or whatever is needed to push the required text into the prompt so I can walk away and know it will finish. Ex: $ ansible all -m shell -a "reboot" --ask-pass Password: blah blah blah it worked I'd love to send an argument or << or something to get the password in. Is that possible?

    I may get killed for this but I have been trying for a few days using Prototype to show a hidden div when hovering over another div. I have this working fine in jquery but I could use some help porting it over to prototype. Now I what to place a button for deleting each of this elements. I was thinking that maybe a solution is to add the "list.get(ind).getTitle()" as a parameter in the function like deleteNewsFunction(<%=list.get(ind).getTitle()%) but then it did not work at all.     I am trying to figure out how to get the product availability text from a page like http://www.walmart.com/browse/TV-Video/TVs/_/N-96v3? (once a store has been selected) I selected 76574 as my zipcode and went to the "In My Store" tab The code I have now is WebElement hoverElement = driver.findElement(By.xpath(".//*[@id='Body_15992428']/span")); WebElement hidden = driver.findElement(By.xpath(".//*[@id='slapInfo_NoVariant_15992428']/div")); Actions builder = new Actions(driver); builder.clickAndHold(hoverElement).build().perform(); System.out.println(hidden.getText()); **Edit: I tried profile.setEnableNativeEvents(false); and the text is now displayed in the automated browser window. I still cannot get to the text I want though. It does not throw an exception, only displays nothing because the driver thinks its still hidden. Any one know how to fix this? I keep getting Exception in thread "main" org.openqa.selenium.InvalidElementStateException: Cannot perform native interaction: Could not load native events component. Even after I do profile.setEnableNativeEvents(true); Are there any other ways I can get the hidden text, or what am I doing wrong here?     We are looking for an effective way to manage the start screen in Windows 8. So far using WSIM we can add certain start tiles by using the OOBE System - shell setup - SquareTiles and WideTiles properties. However this only seems to work for square tiles and not wide tiles, if anyone has any insight on this it would eb appreciated. However the main question is has anyone managed to modify this screen using a GPO, we can add application shortcuts to the Start menu list on the All Apps page using a create shortcut to all users start menu policy. However as we occasionally deploy apps throughout the year in line with the courses requirements we would want to be able to put a shortcut on the home screen. Is it possible?

  • Cant Add Columns to a AD Task pad except for the top level of the domain

    We are working on Active Directory taskpads application for user management in our organization and facing stange issue. When we create a taskpad, and when we are at top level of the domain, i can click view - Add/Remove Columns and add "Pre Windows Name" (and lots of other properties) to the taskpad as columns, but when i just go 1 level down , i can only see "Operating System" and "Service Pack" ; why is it happening , isnt "Domain Admins" supposed to god access to all the things in AD domain , atleast of objects they own? It is important to have "Pre Windows 2000" Name as a column begause with out that our "Shell Command" task wont show up in taskpads, since its bound to parameter "Col<9" (which is pre qindows name). Please do let me know if any additions questions to clarify my problem.

  • jQuery .load() call doesn't execute javascript in loaded html file

    This seems to be a problem related to Safari only. I've tried 4 on mac and 3 on windows and am still having no luck. What I'm trying to do is load an external html file and have the Javascript that is embedded execute. However, I am not able to see the messages in Safari (the last browser that I need to be concerned with - project requirements - please no flame wars). Any thoughts on why Safari is ignoring the Javascript in the trackingCode.html file? Eventually I'd like to be able to pass Javascript objects to this trackingCode.html file to be used within the jQuery ready call, but I'd like to make sure this is possible in all browsers before I go down that road.   • ssh asks for password despite ssh-copy-id

    I've been using public key authentication on a remote server for some time now for remote shell use as well as for sshfs mounts. After forcing a umount of my sshfs directory, I noticed that ssh began to prompt me for a password. I tried purging the remote .ssh/authorized_keys from any mention the local machine, and I cleaned the local machine from references to the remote machine. I then repeated my ssh-copy-id, it prompted me for a password, and returned normally. But lo and behold, when I ssh to the remote server I am still prompted for a password. I'm a little confused as to what the issue could be, any suggestions?

  • Passing contextual info to Views in ASP.NET MVC

    I wonder - what is the best way to supply contextual (i.e. not related to any particular view, but to all views at the same time) info to a view (or to master page)? Consider the following scenario. Suppose we have an app that supports multiple UI languages. User can switch them via UI's widgets (something like tabs at the top of the page). Each language is rendered as a separate tab. Tab for the current language should not be rendered. To address these requirements I'm planning to have a javascript piece that will hide current's language tab on the client. To do this, I need current's language tab Id on the client. So, I need some way of passing the Id to master page (for it to be 'fused' into the js script). The best thing I can think of is that all my ViewModels should inherit some ViewModeBase that has a field to hold current language tab Id. Then, whatever View I'm rendering, this Id will always be available for the master page's hiding script. However, I'm concerned that this ViewModelBase can potentially grow in an uncontrolled fashion as number of such pieces of contextual info (like current language) will grow.. Any ideas?

  • How to pass javascript/jQuery settings from page to page in rails?

    When doing javascript manipulation of what's visible, how does one pass that from page to page (ideally in Rails)? For example, let's say I have the following simple jQuery code: <% link_to "Next Page", report_path %> <div class="clickable-div" style="background-color:#FFFFFF;"></div> <script> $('.clickable-div').click(function () { var color = $(this).css("background-color", "#000000"); }); </script> If it's not clear, the code is just supposed to change the color of the div based on whether or not it has been clicked. Regardless, there's also a link on the page that allows someone to go to the reporting page. What's a way to pass the state of the div to the action call? EDIT It seems unnecessary to do it in a session - am I wrong? This is just something from one page to the next, I couldn't care less anywhere else on the site. EDIT 2 To confirm, Rails needs to have access to the action that occurred in Javascript on the previous page.
