• Using Python read specific (column, row) values from a txt file

  I would like to read values from a text file until that is a float value. Lets say I have the following file: 14:53:55 Load 300 Speed 200 Distance,m Fz Fx Speed 0.0000 249 4 6.22 0.0002 247 33 16.29 0.0004 246 49 21.02 0.2492 240 115 26.97 0.2494 241 112 21.78 0.2496 240 109 13.09 0.2498 169 79 0.27 Distance,m Fz Fx Speed 0.0000 249 4 7.22 0.0002 247 33 1.29 0.0004 246 49 271.02 0.2492 240 115 26.97 0.2494 241 112 215.78 0.2496 240 109 13.09 0.2498 169 79 0.27 And I need only the values under the first Distance column. So something like skip the first few rows, then read values from the first column while it is float. Thanks your help in advance

• javasrcipt asyncronous function

  Hi there, i have a problem understanding how this could/should be solved. I have two functions. In the first function ( I call it loadData() ) I'm doing an asyncronous request to the server to load some data. In the second function ( saveData() ) I'm also doing an asyn request to the server to write some data. In the callback of this request I'm callin loadData() to refresh the data. Now the problem: In the saveData() function I want to wait for loadData() to be finished bevore I show a dialog (like alert('Data saved')) I guess this is a common problem, but I couldn't find the solution for it (if there is one..) A solution would be to make the requests syncronous, but the framework I'm using doesn't offer that and I hope there's a better solution.. Thanks to all!

• Copy and pasting code into the Python interpreter

  There is a snippet of code that I would like to copy and paste into my Python interpreter. Unfortunately due to Python's sensitivity to whitespace it is not straightforward to copy and paste it a way that makes sense. (I think the whitespace gets mangled) Is there a better way? Maybe I can load the snippet from a file.   I'm working at a web application in Python/Twisted. I want the user to be able to download a very big file ( 100 Mb). I don't want to load all the file in memory (of the server), of course. server side I have this idea: ... request.setHeader('Content-Type', 'text/plain') fp = open(fileName, 'rb') try: r = None while r != '': r = fp.read(1024) request.write(r) finally: fp.close() request.finish() I expected this to work, but I have problems: I'm testing with FF... It seems the browser make me wait until the file is completed downloaded, and then I have the open/save dialog box. I expected the dialog box immediately, and then the progress bar in action... Maybe I have to add something in the Http header... Something like the size of the file?

What are your experiences? Do you use some form of AOP? Like Springs @Configurable annotation? Load time or build time weawing? Problems you encountered? Do you use manual injection? Then how do you handle different instantiation scenarios (creating of the objects through an library [like Hibernate], creating objects with "new" ...)? Or do you use some other way of injecting the dependencies?

  After enabling strict warnings in PHP 5.2, I saw a load of strict standards warnings from a project that was originally written without strict warnings: Strict Standards: Static function Program::getSelectSQL() should not be abstract in Program.class.inc The function in question belongs to an abstract parent class Program and is declared abstract static because it should be implemented in its child classes, such as TVProgram. I did find references to this change here: Dropped abstract static class functions. Due to an oversight, PHP 5.0.x and 5.1.x allowed abstract static functions in classes. As of PHP 5.2.x, only interfaces can have them. My question is: can someone explain in a clear way why there shouldn't be an abstract static function in PHP?

  We are planning to create a new sub-site within our company's intranet site. The intranet is built on SharePoint 2007. My question is this: Suppose I want to add a 3rd-party weather web part to the home page of my new intranet site. Since the new site uses HTTPS, do I need to make sure to find an HTTPS-compliant web part? If I use a standard web part, will users get a "This page contains both secure and non-secure items" error message when they load the page? Thanks in advance!

  I have an app that must get data from the Sqlite database in order to display the first element to the User. I have created a domain object which wraps the DB access and is a thread safe singleton. Is this following strategy optimal to ensure the fastest load given the iPhone's file access and memory management capabilities in threaded apps: 1) In the AppDelegate's FinishedLaunching event the very first thing I do is create the domain singleton within a new thread. This will cause the domain object to go to Sqlite and get the data it needs without locking the UI thread. 2) I then call the standard Window methods to add the View and MakeKeyAndVisible etc. Is there an earlier stage in the AppDelegate where I should fire off the thread that creates the Domain Object and accesses Sqlite?

  Hi, We are looking at starting a new Silverlight project using the PRISM framework (to benefit from modules etc) and I am still a little unclear about the best styling approach. What I'd ideally like is to have editable XAML files (maybe even just 1 for the whole project) containing the application's style so that they can be edited to change the look and feel of the application without having to recompile everything. Is this approach something people use? I guess it would need to load the file in at startup and apply the style which I assume wouldn't be a massive overhead. • UIDocumentInteractionController change title of presented view

  I am using the UIDocumentInteractionController to display pdf files. My files are stored in the filesystem using encoded filenames that are not user-friendly. I do have access to a more friendly name for the file, but the file is not stored with this name (for uniqueness reasons). When I load the document into the UIDocumentInteractionController then the view displays the unfriendly 'real' filename in the titlebar. Is there any way to change the displayed title as presented by the UIDocumentInteractionController? Thanks.

  I face a problem with FOSUserBundle. In my Symfony2 application, I want to implement two differents User. I have one entity User, for basic user, and one entity UserPro with more informations. My problem is that I want to configure my bundle with this two entities: fos_user: db_driver:     orm firewall_name: main user_class:    Btp\UserBundle\Entity\User fos_userpro: db_driver:     orm firewall_name: pro user_class:    Btp\UserProBundle\Entity\UserPro And so, use fos_user and fos_userpro as provider in my security.yml. I'm no sure it's be possible. I obtain an error : There is no extension able to load the configuration for "fos_userpro" (in /..../app/config/config.yml). Looked for namespace "fos_userpro", found "framework", "security", ... And when I take a look in FOSUserBundle files, I feel that fos_user is not a configuration variable and is directly written in strings. Thanks.

I have a "Website" table in the database that stores the configuration values related to each domain name: Website - domain - name - tagline - admin_email - etc... At the moment, I load the website object at the start of each request (before_filter) in my ApplicationController: @website = Website.find_by_domain(request.host) The problem is when I need to access the @website object from my models methods. I would like to avoid to have to pass @website everywhere. The best solution would be to have something similar to APP_CONFIG but per domain name. def sample_model_property - - "#{@website.name} is a great website!" end How would you do it?

I can use regex to extract the info with preg_match_all but I feel this is not the right way as the data is already well structured. Any other method ?

  Please not that I fully understand this is a dumb ass idea, but its not my idea. We need to deter people visiting a certain page on our site. It's written in ASP and I don'tknow ASP! Can anyone tell me how I can have a pop up box load when the URL is visited where by people have to enter a username / password. The user name / password should be stored in the javascript. (Yes I know) The only real requirement is that this happen anytime the page is loaded and it stays on that page.   Is there a good, simple library which allows C++ to load a webpage? I just want to grab the source as text. I'm not using any IDE or significant library, just straight command line. Tangentially, is there something fundamental I'm missing about programming in C++? I would think any language in common use today would have droves of web-based functionality, being so central to computer usage, but I can find next to no discussion on how to accomplish it. I realise C++ significantly predates the modern internet, so it lacking any core ability in the regard is reasonable, but the fact that relevant libraries seem so sparse is baffling.   Hi, I posted this question on Three20 google group but did not get any response. So I thought I try this forum. I am using TTPhotoViewController to display photos. I am following sample code given in Three20 sample project: TTCatalog/PhotoTest1Controller.m. In my case some of the images are less than (320,480). The problem which I am facing is that when my image is 200*300 then TTPhotoViewController re-sizes it to full screen on load which distorts the image. I was wondering if there is a way to tell TTPhotoViewController to display image in its actual size and not to resize it. The only thing which I have changed is viewDidLoad function in PhotoTest1Controller.m. • Unable to return large result set ORA-22814

  Hello All I am encountering an issue when I am trying to load a large result set using a range query in Oracle 10g. When I try a smaller range (1 to 100), it works but when I try a larger range(1 and 1000), I get the following error "ORA-22814: attribute or element value is larger than specified in type" error. I have a basic UDT (PostComments_Type) and I have tried using both a VArray and a Table type of PostComments_Type but that hasn't made a difference. • How do you check individual SqlCommands ran during a SqlTransactions to see if they will run?

  I've been reading up on SqlTransactions and have found a great load of examples like: http://www.devhood.com/tutorials/tutorial_details.aspx?tutorial_id=451 The problem is, when I do a BeginTransaction() (Execute all the commands) and then Commit() at the end all the commands I execute get run and the ones with syntax errors or other errors just get skipped. This is where I would also like to run a roll back, not skip over them. I found a few articles on the subject but they were not very helpful and purely in SQL. Is there any way to find out if one of the ExecuteNonQuery()'s failed before the commit and not just skipped? Thanks.

[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:file ofType:nil] : [[NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES) objectAtIndex:0] stringByAppendingPathComponent: file]; NSData* fileData = [NSData dataWithContentsOfFile:filePath]; Where "fileName" and resource are load function parameters. "resource" is used to know if the file is located in application bundle or in Documents. Sometimes this code works well and sometimes it doesn't. As far I saw this problem is random. I can run the code 10 times in a row and it works fine and after that it gives me nil data without any modification. Does anybody knows what could be the problem? Could it be related with file extension or file name? Thank you. PS: I use this code on iPhone Simulator and the file exists in application bundle.
