  • Lenovo T400S microphone mute button doesn't seem to be working in Windows 7 RTM

    The microphone mute button is not working on my T400s running Windows 7 RTM. The speaker mute button works (when I press it the light comes on and sounds goes off). When I click on the microphone button the light doesn't come on and the microphones don't mute. Is there a drive I am missing or something? I can't find a drive for the button on Lenovo site. Anyone out there have this button working?

  • Keyboard repeat on Input Director slave machine.

    I'm using Input Director as a software KVM to control my laptop from my desktop, and all is almost OK with the setup. However, key-presses on the master keyboard seem to repeat very easily on the slave, and it is close to impossible to type a word on the slave without getting repeated characters. I typed the word 'repeat' on the master keyboard and my editor on the slave captured the characters 'repeeaatt'. Both machines are Windows 7.

  • Redirecting specific traffic to amazon AWS

    My server has recieved sudden increase in the (read) web traffic, requesting many map image tiles, and apache cannot handle it. Apache cannot even handle the redirections! The average load I get in my CentOS machine is more then 200.. Is there some software out there that can redirect SOME of the traffic, such as only the traffic from specific directory (such as http://example.com/maptiles/abc.png) to a different address (sucha as http://s3.amazonaws.com/mytiles/abc.png) ? can this be done by HAProxy?

  • AdvancedFirewall: Adding a Program to the Inbound Rules

    I am writing an application that contains a web server running on port 50000. On Windows 7, short of turning the firewall off completely, I am having trouble configuring the firewall to allow other computers on the same private LAN to connect to the server. Simply adding the program to the allowed programs list doesn't seem to work. The network connection is set to be a "Home" network (but I am not using Home Networking). Can anyone suggest where I should be looking to troubleshoot this? Bruce

    On MacOS (10.8.5 if that matters) I'm trying to disable off ipv6 via networksetup -setv6off Wi-Fi. Nevertheless, when I'm trying to wget a specific files URL resolves to ipv6 address and download fails. I just wonder what I am missing in order not to feel as stupid as I currently feel. ifconfig shows that some of interfaces have inet6 enabled, but I just don't know whether this is relevant at all. networksetup -listallnetworkservices does not show anything extraordinary I've forgot about.

    I've been trying to learn about networking, network maintenance, network administration, stuff of that nature (I want to be a network engineer when I get out of university after I get out of high school) and I want to set up my older PC (running Slackware) as a modem, as a project to help me learn. I want to know what kind of hardware I'll need. Pretty much all I know is that my current modem uses ADSL2+ and PPPoA, which I think is a software thing anyway. How can I accomplish this?

  • No mod_jk.so generated when compiling tomcat connector

    When I try to compile the tomcat connector from source, everything appears fine except that no mod_jk.so file gets created. Software versions: RHEL6 x86_64 httpd-2.4.3 tomcat-connector 1.2.37 Commands: cd native ./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs make cd apache-2.0 ls The only warning message during the make is: Warning! dlname not found in /usr/local/tomcat-connectors-1.2.37-src/native/apache-2.0/mod_jk.la. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the mod_jk.so file to be generated?

Other teams want to get involved in the development of (or at least be able to see) our modules and manifests.     I know Ghost and Clonezilla aren't able to build images of a system while the system is running(Without Rebooting). Haven't Checked on Acronis though, but i don't simpatize with private solutions. Question: Is there a software solution which is able to build a "Live" image? Would appreciate anwsers, since I'm one step away from building a Clonezilla test enviroment and this will just help on my decision. Thank you.

    In XP, I could go ToolsOptionsFile Types and modify descriptions, icons and actions. Does this still exist in Windows 7? I'm not finding anything explicitly saying so, but there are lots of recommendations to download assorted random software to do it. There must be a way to change this without having to use third party stuff?

  • Excel File Names not Displayed

    Problem: When excel windows are minimised, I can't see the file name, all I get is a rather unhelpful 'Microsoft Excel' proceeded by the file name. I have the taskbar docked on the left, and have second monitor that I use about 50% of the time, but can't work out what is causing the problem, or a setting that I can change that will remove the appended software name at the beginning of the file.     I'm exampling Google's IPs, but you get the idea. What happens if somebody configures a router's LAN address pool to range from 62.231.75.2 to 62.231.75.255, then his computer's IP address to 62.231.75.232 and someone else on the network tries to access Google? Or better off, is there any case in which someone in that network can, by merely attempting to access Google, accidentally bump into another computer on the network?

    I have a Lenovo 3000 N200 notebook with integrated GMA 965 VGA, using Windows 7. All my drivers are up to date, downloaded directly from the vendor site, installed with administrative privileges, etc. Yet, all OpenGL applications cannot render the interface (or any visuals). Examples are Blender (3D modeling software) and Babo Violent (top-down FPS). All the controls, sound effects and music are live, but the screen is black or light gray, respectively. What can one do?
