How to use MSMQ in WCF?

I can work with many WCF bindings, except netMsmqBinding. All I get is: CommunicationObjectFaultedException: "The communication object, System.ServiceModel.ServiceHost, cannot be used for communication because it is in the Faulted state." at System.ServiceModel.Channels.CommunicationObject.Close(TimeSpan timeout) I tried it in a Windows Server 2008 R2 with the following features installed Message Queueing Message Queueing Services Message Queueing Server Message Queueing Triggers HTTP Support Multicasting Support Message Queueing DCOM Proxy I tried also to add manually a private Message Queue in the Server Manager but it didn't work. How do I get a permanent long term authentication token for google apps application?

Hi guys I'm working on my google apps application - currently I've build the authentication upon the example available at google namely this url The problem is that the session seems to time out and that everytime I am logged into my google apps account and go to my application I need to authenticate again and go through the screen where google asks me if I should allow the application to access the services like GMAIL, Docs etc listed in the manifest xml file. I don't think I'm doing it right as other applications allow instant access. Any ideas

Stuck on Checking battery state at startup in Ubuntu, have splash screen no startup

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. When I boot up the computer it goes to the splash but there is no login screen, just the purple background and the mouse cursor. "Checking battery state" is the last line that does not have an "[OK]". When I press Ctr-alt-shift-F1 I can login and sudo stop gdm and startx. However this makes it so that the applets don't show. Error: "The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:GNOME_notificationAreaApplet" and does it for every single applet. Everything else works fine though. I get a EHCI: BIOS handoff failed twice in the dmesg as well. The laptop has intel mobile integrated graphics. UPDATE: Now my desktop has the exact same problem. Things that I have tried: Changing to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="i915.modeset=1 acpi=off"

I am able to connect to the internet just fine with the device itself (ie can browse the web). Using Apple’s Bonjour service from .NET?

I have an iPhone app that publishes through Bonjour. The Mac counterpart works, they sync and exchange data. Now I have to port that little Mac app to Windows. I’ve decided to go with .NET (because that’s what I know). The app is not complex, but I’m in the early stages. I need to browse/discover Bonjour services. For this task, I’ve downloaded Mono.Zeroconf and Apple’s latest SDK (which includes a couple of C# Samples). I’m not really pasting code because I’m really copy/pasting the samples. In fact, Mono.Zeroconf has a MZClient.exe that can be used to test “all the API”. My 1st test was -on the same box- open two cmd.exe and launch a MZclient registering a service and on the other, launch it and “discover it”. It doesn’t work. Here’s the server: C:\MZ>MZClient -v -p "_http._tcp 80 mysimpleweb” *** Registering name = 'mysimpleweb', type = '_http._tcp', domain = 'local.' *** Registered name = ‘mysimpleweb’ On the other terminal: c:\MZ>MZClient -v -t "_http._tcp" Creating a ServiceBrowser with the following settings: Interface = 0 (All) Address Protocol = Any Domain = local Registration Type = _http._tcp Resolve Shares = False Hit ^C when you're bored waiting for responses. And that’s it. Nothing happens. I’ve of course tried with different services to no avail. Even played a little bit with that domain thing. Remember this is the same box. I tried on another computer, because this was a VM inside OSX, so I went ahead and tried on a “pure” win XP. Nothing. note: I have Apple Bonjour Service (up and running) and also the Apple SDK (installed later). Given that this didn’t work, I went ahead and decided to try the Apple SDK which has an Interop and a few pre-compiled samples (and its source code). Short story, neither the mDSNBrowser.exe nor the SimpleChat.exe work/see/discover anything. My box is a Win7 under Parallels, but that doesn’t seem to be affecting anything, given that the native XP exhibits the same problems. What am I doing so awfully wrong?

Good Email Notification Sending Service

I need to send a few but important email notifications to individual users. For instance, when they register their software I send them a confirmation email. Right now, I am using 'sendmail' from my Perl CGI script to do the job. Most of my automated email are lost or marked as junk. Unfortunately, I am using shared hosting services and not a very good control over the SPF and SenderID DNS records. Even more bad, some other user of that shared server has been infected with some kind of SPAM-BOT and the IP is now blacklisted until further notice! Anyway I just don't want to deal with this kind of headache. I am looking for an online service that I will be able to subscribe to and pay something like 0.10$ per email I send with no monthly fees. I just need and API to be able to send the email from PHP or Perl code I will have to write. I have been looking around at all those "Email Sending Services" and they are all wrapped around creating campains and managing lists for bulk email marketing distribution and newsletters. But remember, I want to send an email notification to a "single" recipient. So far, I have look at MailChimp, SocketLabs, iContact, ConstantContact, StreamSend and so many others to no avail. I have seen one comment at Hackers News saying that MailChimp have an API for transactional e-mails (i.e. ad-hoc ones to welcome a user for example). So you're not just restricted to using them for bulk emails But I cannot find this in the API documentation supplied, maybe this was removed. Any suggestions out there. Here is a summary of my requirements: Allows ad hoc sending of email to a single recipient. Throughput may well be throttle I don't care, i am sending like 2-5 emails a day. API available in PHP or Perl to connect to that web service. Ideally I can send HTML formatted emails, otherwise I will live with text only. Solution not too expensive, between 0.01$ and 0.25$ per email would be acceptable. No recurring monthly fees.

SOAP UI Pro vs Fitnesse, has anybody used SOAP UI Pro?

There's a web services I want to call in my application, I can use it with importing the WSDL or by just use "HTTP GET" with the URL and parameters, so I prefer the later because it's simple thing. I know I can use indy idhttp.get, to do the job, but this is very simple thing and I don't want to add complex indy code to my application. UPDATE: sorry if I was not clear, I meant by "not to add complex indy code", that I don't want add indy components for just this simple task, and prefer more lighter way for that.

Restoring an Exchange 2010 user's calendar without rest of mailbox

I am trying to restore a user's calendar from backup, which was deleted by a sync problem on her mobile device. I've been able to restore her mailbox without a problem but I had to link it to a new AD user since she deleted the calendar several days before she reported the problem and the current backups of her account didn't include any calendar events, but all of her current email. I had to restore the mailbox from the day before she deleted everything. I've tried sharing the calendar and opening it in her account, then copying or moving the contents, but I get an error that outlook can't do the task because there are personal items. I tried bringing up the "Recovery User" I created, in Outlook and exporting the calendar events to a .pst, then importing them into the user's real account, but they all get created in a sub-folder called "Recovery User." In case it matters, she's running Outlook 2010 and we're using Exchange 2010 SP1. Thank in advance for help with this problem...Michael

My acer aspire laptop suddenly stopped working, just a blank screen

My acer aspire laptop suddenly stopped working while it was connected to my nokia mobile modem through usb. It stopped with power swich staying on and no response to clicking off, no irregular sound, nothing but just a blank screen. I disconnected the power and battery quickly but power switch did not respond at all and even the power indicator didn't turn on again. the display was also gone after disconecting the power and removing battery. It has no response or any sign of power while both battery and power supply are working. What do you think? A completely dead mainboard? Does the MB has any safty board or fuse that could be replaced? Any suggestion will be appreciated, Thank you.

Two network cards in one Windows 7 PC

Hi, I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. On Vista I used to run one network card (Intel 82566DC -2 Gigabit) for my internet which was connected to a Dovado USB mobile broadband router connected to a 3G modem. The IP setup on the card is set on DHCP. The second card (3com Ethernet link) was used to connect to our town's local WUG (wireless user group) and all worked fine. Now the problem I have with Windows 7 is that when I connect to the internet with the (Intel) first card, the internet work fine but as soon as I connect the second card to the wug my internet drops. If I then disconnect the first card (internet one) and try to connect to the wug it works. It seems that the two cards are fighting each other. Is there maybe something I can do to fix the problem? As you probably can gather from this post is that I am not an expert on PC's so please if you do answer do I in simple terms. :) Thanks, Martin

I have added another endpoint to expose the new contract operations. I'm building the 2nd iteration of a web-based CRM+CMS for a franchise service business in ASP.NET MVC 2. I need to control access to each franchise's services based on the roles a user is assigned for that franchise. 4 examples: Receptionist should be able to book service jobs in for her "Atlantic Seaboard" franchise, but not do any reporting. Technician should be able to alter service jobs, but not modify invoices. Managers should be able to apply discount to invoices for jobs within their stores. Owner should be able to pull reports for any franchises he owns. Where should franchise-level access control fit in between the Data - Services - Web layer? If it belongs in my Controllers, how should I best implement it? For the sake of proper testing and better separation between data and presentation, I decided to implement the repository pattern as seen in Rob Conery's MVC Storefront series. Controller Implementation Access Control with [Authorize] attribute If there was just one franchise involved, I could simply limit access to a controller action like so: [Authorize(Roles="Receptionist, Technician, Manager, Owner")] public ActionResult CreateJob(Job job) { ... } And since franchises don't just pop up over night, perhaps this is a strong case to use the new Areas feature in ASP.NET MVC 2? Or would this lead to duplicate Views? Controllers, URL Routing & Areas Assuming Areas aren't used, what would be the best way to determine which franchise's data is being accessed? I thought of this: {franchise}/{controller}/{action}/{id} or is it better to determine a job's franchise in a Details(...) action and limit a user's action with [Authorize]: {job}/{id}/{action}/{subaction} {invoice}/{id}/{action}/{subaction} which makes more sense if any user could potentially have access to more than one franchise without cluttering the URL with a {franchise} parameter. Any input is appreciated.

OracleDBConsole for this db, and iSQLPlus services are started. When I run %ORACLE_HOME%\bin\emctl status dbconsole, it says, EM Daemon is not running. How do I deal with this?
