  • Get Pidgin Logs From Other Directory

    I'm using pidgin on both, windows and linux on several pc. To sync my log, I use dropbox. For linux, it's easy. Just a matter of symlink. However, I don't know how to sync it on windows, without manual copy-paste once I'm done on windows. So, is there any solution to my problem? pidgin plugin, maybe? Update As MarkM's answer, I did this to solve my problem: backup and delete current log (it's located at C:\Users\{your user name}\Roaming\.purple\logs) mklink /D "C:\Users\{your user name}\Roaming\.purple\logs" "E:\My Dropbox\somepath\purplelogs" "C:\Users\{your user name}\Roaming\.purple\logs" is where you want your symlink at "E:\My Dropbox\somepath\purplelogs" is there you have your dropboxed logs.

    I know the answer to this is "it depends", and I know that the counter can and will be thrown off by backup jobs or other things that might use memory mapped files. I'd like to get a bit of clarity over exactly what "it depends" on and some general guidelines around what a healthy web server normally shows for this counter. So if activities regarding memory-mapped files are excluded, if I have ample amounts of memory, should I really see this down close to 0? When should I get suspicious that I might need additional RAM and/or start looking for application memory leaks?

  • Generating new sources via Maven plugin after compile phase

    I have a Maven project within which I need execute two code generation steps. One generates some Java types, then the second depends on those Java types to generate some more code. Is there a way to have both of these steps happening during my build? At the moment my steps are: execute first code generation plugin (during generate-sources) add directory of generated types to build path execute second code generation plugin (during compile) However my problem is that anything generated by the second code generation plugin will not be compiled (because the compile phase has finished). If I attach the second code generation plugin to an earlier phase, it fails because it needs the classes from the first code generation plugin to be present on the classpath. I know I could split this into two modules with one dependent on the other, but I was wondering if this could be achieved in one pom. It seems like a need a way to invoke compile again after the normal compile phase is complete. Any ideas?

However, if instead of doing a select on all (*) if I try to name individual columns to return from the query I get the information I asked for, but rather than being split up into seperate entries in the data table I get a string in the first index of the data table that looked something like: "(0,5,false,Bob Smith,7)" And the data is correct, I would be expecting 0, then 5, then a boolean, then some text etc. But I would (obviously) prefer it to not be returned as just one big string. Anyone know why if I do a select on * I get a datatable as expected, but if I do a select on specific columns I get a data table with one entry that is the string of the values I'm asking for?

  • No win 7 users available for login after dell datasafe factory reset

    I created install discs using the Dell datasafe 2.0 backup utility in order to re-install windows on a friend's laptop (dell inspiron n5110). I ran the discs to do a factory reset. after the whole process, it booted, started loading windows 7, displayed the messages "setup is preparing your computer for first use" and "setup is checking video performance," and showed the login screen. However, there don't seem to be any active users on the machine - I opened a command prompt window to check the users on the machine. Using the command prompt (again, from the login window), i activated/enabled the administrator account, and even created another admin account, and upon logging in received several errors, couldn't load any mmc's, etc. any help would be appreciated.

I want to know how you could make the table size commensurate with the line (make the length of the line is equal to the length of the table) I set the property "RepeatWith" in the line properties to the table in my report, but this isn't working because this will only work if the data region spans multiple pages.     Hi, There are a number of questions about this and a number of possible causes and thus far ive tried them all with no success. situation: i have an app that needs a db to work, onstartup it does a SmoApplication.EnumAvailableSqlServers(false) to get all the instances on the network, shows the user a dropdown, they pick one and i go connect to my db on that server. all good problem: this works on my machine, the guys next to me and others. HOWEVER it doesnt work on one of the tech guys machines (and potentially others). we are all on the same network domain, physically connected (no wireless), all logged on with network user names, all running the same sql express 2005 sp3, though im using win7 the other guys are running xppro. MSSMS on all machines can see all the instances when you select "Browse for more". yet on this one tech guys machine it lists his local instance (since its hardcoded to) and all the network servers, but has no instances names? i.e. .sqlexpress server1 server2 server3 server4 but on my machine and others we get: .sqlexpress server1/sqlexpress server2/sqlexpress server3/sqlexpress server4/sqlexpress the code im using: ' .... some code ' this populates my datatable dtServers = SmoApplication.EnumAvailableSqlServers(False) '.... some code '.... then later i ShowServers(...) Notes: ive tried firewall 1433, 1434 i can connect using a udl with full SERVERNAME\INSTANCENAME the browser service is running locally and on the remote machine ive tried stopping and restarting both the browser service on the local and remote machine. Ideas?

    I have a standard ActiveRecord model with the following: class MyModel < ActiveRecord::Base custom_method :first_field, :second_field end At the moment, that custom_method is picked up by a module sent to ActiveRecord::Base. The functionality basically works, but of course, it attaches itself to every model class, not just MyModel. So if I have MyModel and MyOtherModel in the same action, it'll assume MyOtherModel has custom_method :first_field, :second_field as well. So, my question is: How do I attach a method (eg: def custom_method(*args)) to every class that inherits from ActiveRecord::Base, but not by attaching it to ActiveRecord::Base itself? Any ideas appreciated.

  • How to determine if a device is SATA driven and will be affect by the Sandy Bridge Intel Issue?

    Looking to buy a higher-end Windows 7 laptop, but I'm concerned about the issue with the Intel Sandy Bridge chipset. Otherwise, my price range covers laptops within the latest (Sandy Bridge) generation of the Core i7 family. I understand that there is an issue with SATA ports 2-5 and I use a Windows Home Server over a WiFi connection to share files and backup my PC. The other storage devices that I will use (less frequently) are the built-in DVD-RW disc drive and various devices hooked up to the USB ports (i.e. Android devices, iPod, etc.). The question: Will this setup be negatively impacted by the problem Intel reported about Sandy Bridge? Given this information, is it unwise to purchase a laptop that has this flaw? I really don't know how to determine whether a device is SATA driven or not, so hoping someone can shed some light on this too. Thanks!

  • Good experiences with bulk rate SMS providers?

    We're a pretty popular service, our users are currently sending 100000+ SMS messages (projected 180k this month, and continuing to grow) per month. We're currently using a primary domestic provider that doesn't provide bulk rates and doesn't provide short code access. We're using a few backup providers as well for max redundancy, but aren't thrilled by 'em. We're ideally looking for a service that provides good bulk rates/incentives, good uptime/redundancy/reputation, easy API-integration (including respectable error codes!) ;). Right now, we're looking primarily for a domestic US SMS solution, but aren't averse to using the same provider for both International & US. For those of you using bulk SMS right now - what are your recommendations, experiences, etc. in the bulk SMS domain? It sounds like I'm looking for a golden unicorn here, I know, but any data/recommendations/warnings you've got are helpful!

    My Entity Model is as follows: Person , Store and PersonStores Many-to-many child table to store PeronId,StoreId When I get a person as in the code below, and try to delete all the StoreLocations, it deletes them from PersonStores as mentioned but also deletes it from the Store Table which is undesirable. Also if I have another person who has the same store Id, then it fails saying "The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint \"FK_PersonStores_StoreLocations\". The conflict occurred in database \"EFMapping2\", table \"dbo.PersonStores\", column 'StoreId'.\r\nThe statement has been terminated" as it was trying to delete the StoreId but that StoreId was used for another PeronId and hence exception thrown.
