  • Using kEAGLRenderingAPIOpenGLES2 causes bad access in glMatrixMode

    I am trying to use the ES 2 API in my app but using kEAGLRenderingAPIOpenGLES2 causes bad access at glMatrixMode(). There is a similar question here but doesn't answer my question. If I use kEAGLRenderingAPIOpenGLES1 then everything is fine. I could reproduce the same problem with Apple's sample code. What can I do to make glMatrixMode() work in ES 2?

  • chat application: pubsubhubbub vs xmpp

    I'm unsure on the best stack to build a chat application. Currently I'm thinking of two main options: facebook tornado cons: does not use the main chat protocol xmpp but pubsubhubbub pros: i really like its simplicity for development (webserver + webframework); pubsubhubbub also seems simpler as a protocol than xmpp; and i know python xmpp + bosch, punjab, ejabberd cons: don't know erlang; overall seems a bit harder to develop pros: uses xmpp protocol The chat app will need to have the following: Private messages Public rooms Private rooms Chat history for rooms (not forever, just the last n messages) html embedding url to chat room Both options seem scalable so that's not really my worry (we're thinking of running the app in amazon's ec2 as well). I know there's a project that builds a xmpp server using tornado but it's not ready for production use and our deadline isn't that big. Basically my main worry is ease of development vs somehow regretting later using pubsubhubbub to develop a chat app but I read somewhere that PubSubHubbub might eventually replace XMPP as REST replaced SOAP - so what do you think?

  • SVNKit: Commit files that were manually deleted from filesystem( Work Copy)

    I can not solve the problem with collecting CommitItem(changes that commit), or more accurately, I have no porblem with the changed and added files BUT files that I manually deleted from the file system is not seen in CommitItem list ... And those changes can not commit to the SVN server. If I delete a file using the API, then the problem does not exist... but manually deleting ... Has anyone had a similar problem?

  • Android NDK - does it support straight ARM code or just Thumb

    All, I have been asked to evaluate the Android platform for our product and I am looking at various options, I am only just scratching the surface just now and the one thing that is bothering me is that I cannot see how to compile code as straight ARM code (no Thumb), I know that Thumb runs slower and we will need the performance in key sections of our code. I think it should just be setting the -march flag in the LOCAL_CFLAGS of the Android.mk file, but I cannot get that to work... Can anyone help. Russell

    Does anyone know if I can hack google's visualization ColumnChart api chart somehow, to make a single column stand out with a different color, like so: I know you can do it with ImageChart, so I don't need that (it fires no events and has no x/y labels). Can I traverse the result with javascript somehow and change the CSS style, if it is truly rendered in SVG?

    I need to write a VBScript script to check the state of a dial-up connection, perform the dial up if disconnected, hang up the connection etc. I know this can be done using RAS API functions, so I'm wondering if there's any way to call these functions from VBScript? If not, how else can I manage dial-up connections using VBScript? Can somebody point me in a useful direction? Thanks.

  • Featureful commercial text editors?

    I'm willing to buy tools if they add genuine value over a FOSS equivalent. One thing I wouldn't mind having is an editor with the power of Emacs, but made more user-friendly. There seem to be several commercial editors out there, but I can't find much discussion of them online. Maybe it's because the kind of people who use commercial software don't have time to do much blogging. ;-) If you have used any, what was your evaluation? I'd especially like to hear how you would compare them to Emacs. I'm thinking of editors like VEDIT, Boxer, Crisp, UltraEdit, SlickEdit, etc. To get things started, I tried EditPad Pro because I needed something on a Win98SE box. I was attracted by its powerful support for regexps, but I didn't use it for long. One annoyance was that find-in-files was only available in a separate product you had to buy. The main problem, though, was stability. It sometimes hung and I lost a few files because it corrupted them while editing. After a couple weeks, I found that I was avoiding using it, so I just uninstalled. Edit: Ah...I need to remove some ambiguity. With reference to Emacs, "power" often means its potential for customization. This malleability comes from having an architecture in which most of the functionality is written in a scripting language that runs on a compiled core. Emacs (with elisp) is by far the most widely known such system among home users, but there have been other heavily used editors such as Freemacs (MINT), JED (S-Lang), XEDIT (Rexx), ADAM (TPU), and SlickEdit (Slick-C). In this case, by "power" I'm not referring to extensibility but to realized features. There are three main areas which I think a commercial text editor might be an improvement over Emacs: Stability The only apps I regularly use on Linux that give me flaky behavior are Emacs, Gedit, and Geany. On Windows, I like the look and features of Notepad++, but I find it extremely unstable, especially if I try to use the plugins. Whatever I happen to be doing, I'm using some text editor practically all day long. If I could switch to an editor that never gave me problems, it would definitely lower my stress level. Tools When I started using Emacs, I searched the manual cover to cover to gleam ideas for clever, useful things I could do with it. I'd like to see lots of useful features for editing code, based on detailed knowledge of what the system can do and the accumulated feedback of users. Polish The rule of threes goes that if you develop something for yourself, it's three times harder to make it usable in-house, and three times harder again to make it a viable product for sale. It's understandable, but free software development doesn't seem to benefit from much usability testing. BTW, texteditors.org is a fantastic resource for researching text editors.

  • Node.js appears to be missing the multipart module

    I am trying to parse form data, including upload files with a node.js http server. All of the tutorial type articles I have found use a require("multipart"); to include the multipart module, but when I try the same I get: Error: Cannot find module 'multipart' I also can't find it in the current api docs (though it is in the google cached version). So, has this module been removed from the standard installation or is there something else that does the job?

  • How to display a JSON error message?

    I'm currently developing a tumblr theme and have built a jQuery JSON thingamabob that uses the Tumblr API to do the following: The user would click on the "post type" link (e.g. Video Posts), at which stage jQuery would use JSON to grab all the posts that's related to that type and then dynamically display them in a designated area. Now everything works absolutely peachy, except that with Tumblr being Tumblr and their servers taking a knock every now and then, the Tumblr API thingy is sometimes offline. Now I can't foresee when this function will be down, which is why I want to display some generic error message if JSON (for whatever reason) was unable to load the post. You'll see I've already written some code to show an error message when jQuery can't find any posts related to that post type BUT it doesn't cover any server errors. Does openssl libraries have any api support for calculating the CRC32?   • Problem with Twitter basic authentication using AJAX

    I'm developing a javascript App that needs, as part of its functionality, for users to be able to update their Twitter status. The App is designed to work on mobiles, and as such I don't really want to be sending users all the way over to the Twitter site to sign in; they should just be able to pass their credentials to the app, and I'll handle all the signin. So I'm trying to use the Basic Auth with the restful API.     Hi I know there's a http://www.upcdatabase.com/ website that allows you to lookup barcodes. This website however does not return anything for thousands of normal household items. I have seen free apps on mobile phones that can do this and list the exact product name along with price comparison. Does anyone know of good websites (even commercial ones) that have a good/reliable database that one could use for lookups?

That is, can I compile and link against the libraries without open sourcing my own applications's code? Obviously if I alter the original CF code, I would submit the changes.   • Dependency Injection book recommendation(s)

    It seems like there are very few books (yes, I read books) on Dependency Injection. The Amazon tag for "dependency injection" lists only a few titles, and all of them are specifically about Spring for Java. Are there any books out there that cover DI/IoC in general? Or any that include a survey of multiple DI frameworks? Or any that cover .NET in lieu of or in addition to Java? Or do we have to rely on this newfangled interweb instead of dead trees...

My desired output is this: <th>Empresa</th> Thanks! EDIT I tried DisplayFor or DisplayTextFor as suggested, but they are not valid because they generate: <th>Amazon</th> They return the value of the property... I want the name from the Display attribute.
