  • Silverlight datagrid don't show any data with anonymous query RIA services

I have an anonymous linq query that I bind to a datagrid, when I debug it brings alright the data but it doesn't show in the datagrid, I suspect that the request to RIA services isn't completed before I bound it to the datagrid. I could use the LoadOperation<() Completed event. But it only works with Defined Entities so how can I do that?   • Why Date Format in ASP NET MVC Differs when used inside Html Helper?

    Hi, I just came across a very interesting issue. If I use ViewData to pass a DateTime value to the view and then display it inside a textbox, even though I'm using String.Format in the exact same manner, I get different formatting results when using the Html.TextBox helper. <%= Html.TextBox("datefilter", String.Format("{0:d}", ViewData["datefilter"]))%> <input id="test" name="test" type="text" value="<%: String.Format("{0:d}", ViewData["datefilter"]) %>" /> The above code renders the following html: <input id="datefilter" name="datefilter" type="text" value="2010-06-18" /> <input id="test" name="test" type="text" value="18/06/2010" /> Notice how the fist line that uses the Html helper produces the date format in one way while the second one produces a very different output. Any ideas why? Note: I'm currently in Brazil, so the standard short date format here is dd/MM/yyyy.

  • How to have an iCalendar (RFC 2445) repeat YEARLY with duration

    I have been unsuccessful in formulating a RRULE that would allow an event as shown below: Repeats YEARLY, from first Sunday of April to last day of May, occuring on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, until forever. FREQ=YEARLY;BYMONTH=4;BYDAY=SU (gives me the first Sunday of April repeating yearly) and FREQ=YEARLY;BYMONTH=5;BYMONTHDAY=-1 (gives me the last day of May repeating yearly) But I can't figure out how to have the event repeat yearly between those dates for Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Suggestions? Update: Comments don't have enough space to respond to Chris' answer, so I am editing the question with further information. Unfortunately, no. I don't know if it is the DDay.iCal library I'm using, or what, but that doesn't work either. I've found that the date start can't be an ordinal date (first Sunday, etc.)..it has to be a specific date, which makes it difficult for my requirements.     Hi, I am using the following plug in for cookies in jQuery: https://code.google.com/p/cookies/ The issue i am having is not with the plugin but when and how to delete the cookie at the end of a quoting process. The site i am using this on is a six step online quote and buy process. There is Omniture event serialisation sitestat tracking applied to some of the pages. This event serialisation has to include the name of the event and a random number of which i create. I have a generic function for this which i call at the bottom of the page like so: serialEvent('event21:', 'payment'); Here is the function: function serialEvent(eventNumber, eventName) { var sessionID = jaaulde.utils.cookies.get('sessionID'); var remLength = 20 - eventName.length; var remSession = sessionID.substr(sessionID.length - remLength, remLength); var eventName = eventName + remSession; s.events = eventNumber + eventName; } I need to delete the cookie at the end of the process, the Thank you page but i also need the cookie 'sessionID' for the 'serialEvent' function. As the function is called at the bottom of the page should i just write the cookie delete after it? Is that robust enough? I need to be sure that the function has successfully been called before the cookie is deleted. The code for deleting the cookie is quite simple: jaaulde.utils.cookies.del('sessionID'); Thanks :)

    I have a generic question that I will try to explain using an example. Say I have a table with the fields: "id", "name", "category", "appearances" and "ratio" The idea is that I have several items, each related to a single category and "appears" several times. The ratio field should include the percentage of each item's appearances out of the total number of appearances of items in the category. In pseudo-code what I need is the following: For each category find the total sum of appearances for items related to it. For example it can be done with (select sum("appearances") from table group by category) For each item set the ratio value as the item's appearances divided by the sum found for the category above Now I'm trying to achieve this with a single update query, but can't seem to do it. What I thought I should do is: update Table T set T.ratio = T.appearances / ( select sum(S.appearances) from Table S where S.id = T.id ) But MySQL does not accept the alias T in the update column, and I did not find other ways of achieving this. Any ideas?

The data of database a*(a.accdb)* and database b*(b.accdb)* are different. then in database a i have for example ID:1, 2, 3 and in database B i Have ID:4,5,6 Then i need merge these databases data in only one database(a or b, doesn't matter) so the final database looks like. ID:1,2,3,4,5,6 I search an easy way to do this. because i have many tables. and do this by union query is so tedious. I search for example for a backup option for only data without scheme as in postgreSQl or many others RDBMS, but i don't see this options in access 2007. pd:only just table could be have duplicate values(I guess that pk doesn't allow copy a duplicate value and all others values will be copied well). if i wrong please correct me. thanks for your help.

    i have an RoR application Log, which similar to the book store app, my logs_controller has all default action: index, show, update, create, delete.. now i need to add new action :toCSV, i defined it in logs_controller, and add new route in the config/routes as: map.resources :logs, :collection = { :toCSV = :get }. from irb, i checked the routes and see the new routes added already: rs = ActionController::Routing::Routes puts rs.routes GET /logs/toCSV(.:format)? {:controller="logs", :action="toCSV"} then ran ‘rake routes’ command in shell, it returned: toCSV_logs GET /logs/toCSV(.:format) {:controller="logs", :action="toCSV"} everything seems working. finally in my views code, i added the following: link_to 'Export to CSV', toCSV_logs_path when access it in the brower 'http://localhost:3000/logs/toCSV', it complained: Couldn't find Log with ID=toCSV i checked in script/server, and saw this one: ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound (Couldn't find Log with ID=toCSV): app/controllers/logs_controller.rb:290:in `show' seems when i click that link, it direct it to the action 'show' instead of 'toCSV', thus it took 'toCSV' as an id...anyone know why would this happen? and to fix it?   • Old fashioned html onclick return false doesnt in IE work when jquery script included

    Ok, so im quite new to jquery but found this bizzar problem just now, If we ignore jquery for a second and consider this scenario, if i have two links like below both with an href and both with and onclick event. The first link will not follow the href because the onclick returns false, and the second link will because the onclick returns true. <a href="/page.html" onclick="return false;">Dont follow</a> <a href="/page.html" onclick="return false;">Follow</a> This works just hunky dory in every browser as it should, the thing is, as soon as i include the jQuery script on the page this stops working in all versions of IE which then always follows the href whether the onclick returns false or not. (it continues to work fine in other browsers) Now if i add an event using jquery and call .preventDefault() on the event object instead of doing it the old fashioned way this behaves correctly, and you may say, well just do that then? But i have a site with thousands of lines of code and i am adding jquery support, i dont want to run the risk that i might miss an already defined html onclick="" and break the website. I cant see why jQuery should prevent perfectly normal javascript concepts from working, so is this a jQuery bug or am I missing something?

    When drawing vertical lines with a non-integer x-value (e.g., 1.75) to a sprite, the lines are drawn differently based on the non-integer x-value of the sprite. In the picture below are two pairs of very close together vertical lines. As you can see, they look very different. This is frustrating, especially when animating the sprite. My only problem is a warning I get at compilation time: The 'Level' attribute is invalid - The value '$(var.brand.FeatureLevel)' is invalid according to its datatype 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema:integer' - The string '$(var.brand.FeatureLevel)' is not a valid Integer value. Is there a way to fix this warning? Can I define integer variable? I couldn't find a way...

    We have a REST API where clients can supply parameters representing values defined on the server in Java Enums. So we can provide a descriptive error, we add this lookup method to each Enum. Seems like we're just copying code (bad).     Hello, I have an URL loader with the following code: public function getUploadURL():void { var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(); var url:String = getPath(); // Adds time to prevent caching url += "&time=" + new Date().getTime(); request.url = url; request.method = URLRequestMethod.GET; _loader = new URLLoader(); _loader.dataFormat = URLLoaderDataFormat.TEXT; _loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, getBaseURL); _loader.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, onGetUploadURLError); _loader.addEventListener(HTTPStatusEvent.HTTP_STATUS, getHttpStatus); _loader.load(request); } My problem is that this request might be wrong, and so the server will give me a back a 400 Bad Request, with a message to explain the error. If the Event.COMPLETE, I can see some message (a response) back from the server in the "data" field of the Event, but if onGetUploadURLError or getHttpStatus is called, it just says that the error code is 400 but does not show me the message associated with it. The "data" field is undefined in getHttpStatus and it is "" in onGetUploadURLError. On the contrary, in getBaseURL, I get: {"ResponseMetadata":{...}} I checked and I do get a similar response in my browser for a wrong request, but I cannot see it.     Hi, I need some Regex help. I need to find beacon_ followed by an alphanumeric code and then wrap it in quotation marks. For something static, like the example, below it's straight forward. myReturn = myReturn.replace( 'id=beacon_80291ee9b3', 'id="beacon_80291ee9b3"'); But, my problem is that the part after beacon is a random alphanumeric code. (However, it is always the same length). For example, the beacon part could be: beacon_c8ac873136 beacon_dc83b5953e beacon_7a910d03d8 etc. The haystack that I'll search will look like: myReturn = "blah blah id=beacon_80291ee9b3 blah blah"; Thanks. -Laxmidi
