  • How to open an html file using the default file handler and to give the window a name (i.e. target)?

    I am writing a warm-up script for a SharePoint server. The idea is to call stsadm and then open an html file containing iframes which touch all the key web pages in my portal. So far so good. The problem is that each time the script is run, a new browser window is opened and I end up with a screen full of browsers. The first idea was to close the browser after 10 minutes or so. This would be easy to do except that Javascript is disabled when an html file is opened from the file system. I then thought I might be able to open the file and set it in a named window (target) which would be reused each time the script runs but I haven't found any way to do this. Does anyone have any ideas? Either to force JS to run or to set the window name or another solution? Thanks.

  • Event when the user changes font size in browser?

    I need to get informed when the user changes the font size in it's browser. I need it to reposition some elements which have to be relative in one dimension to an anchor inside a text. So far i haven't found anything and i'm a bit worried that it's not possible. In this case it should be possible to emulate it with a hidden div and some text inside and a script polling for changes of it's width. But i hope someone has a more elegant solution.

  • Unable to debug St9bad_alloc error. Tried reducing the size of the data structure, error still persists

    I get a St9bad_alloc error which I'm unable to debug. I tried reducing the size of the data structure to eliminate the possibility that I might be running out of memory but that doesn't seem to be the case. These are the relevant files:- gdb backtrace: http://pastebin.com/5hFhHXnL TraceCache.cc: http://pastebin.com/j8vK812j I can't understand how, in the backtrace it jumps from TraceCache.cc:55 to TraceCache.cc:34 whereas in my code I can't see any such path.   • nginx server over https using up all available file handles (upd: infinite loop?)

    Hi all, So I have an nginx server that's working over https with Sinatra. When I try to download a jnlp file in a configuration that works fine over Mongrel and http (no s), the nginx server fails to serve the file with a 504 error. Subsequent checking of the logs states that this error is due to overflowing the available number of file handles, ie, "24: too many open files". And no wonder, it looks like it's in some kind of loop to pull all available files. Any idea what's going on, and how to fix it? EDIT: nginx 0.7.63, ubuntu linux, sinatra 1.0 EDIT 2: Here's the offending code. It's sinatra serving jnlp, which I finally figured out: get '/uploader' do #read in the launch.jnlp file theJNLP = "" File.open("/launch.jnlp", "r+") do |file| while theTemp = file.gets theJNLP = theJNLP + theTemp end end content_type :jnlp theJNLP end If I serve this with Sinatra via Mongrel and http, everything works fine. If I serve this with Sinatra and nginx via https, I get the above error. All other parts of the website appear to be equivalent. EDIT: I have since upgraded to passenger 2.2.14, ruby 1.9.1, nginx 0.8.40, openssl 1.0.0a, and no change. EDIT: The culprit appears to be infinite redirects due to using SSL. I don't know how to fix this, other than hosting the jnlp file in the root directory of the server (which I'd rather not do, since it limits me to one jnlp-based app at a time). The relevant lines from nginx.conf: # HTTPS server # server { listen 443; server_name MyServer.org root /My/Root/Dir; passenger_enabled on; expires 1d; proxy_set_header X-FORWARDED_PROTO https; proxy_set_header X_FORWARDED_PROTO https;#the almighty google is not clear on which to use location /upload { proxy_pass https://127.0.0.1:443; } } The funny thing about this is, first, I was putting the jnlp into a directory called 'uploader', not 'upload', but that still appeared to trigger the problem, since that proxy_pass directive appeared in the logs. Second, again, moving the jnlp into root avoided the problem, because there wasn't any of this proxying due to ssl. So, how can I avoid the infinite proxy_pass loop in nginx?

    I need to store 100k files (around 40GB) in a USB drive. Each file has a unique int id (e.g 45000). Option one is to put all files in a single folder: root/ root/1.pdf root/2.pdf root/3.pdf ... root/567.pdf root/568.pdf root/569.pdf ... root/10001.pdf root/10002.pdf root/10003.pdf ... root/99998.pdf root/99999.pdf root/100000.pdf Option two is to create a [1-9][0-9]* folder hierarchy based on that id: root/ root/1/file.pdf root/2/file.pdf root/3/file.pdf ... root/5/6/7/file.pdf root/5/6/8/file.pdf root/5/6/9/file.pdf ... root/1/0/0/0/1/file.pdf root/1/0/0/0/2/file.pdf root/1/0/0/0/3/file.pdf ... root/9/9/9/9/8/file.pdf root/9/9/9/9/9/file.pdf root/1/0/0/0/0/0/file.pdf Which option will scale better? I can understand that the second option will require tons of folders but each folder will at most contain 10 folders and 1 file. Maintenance will not be an issue since everything will be controlled by an application. Note that this is a USB drive on linux and based on the above I'd also like to know whether I should go with FAT32 or NTFS.

    I'm working on sending out an html based email, and every time it sends the image src tags and some of the anchor href tags are modified to be relative url's. Update 2: This is happening between when the body of the email is generated and sent and when it arrives in my inbox. Update: I am using Postfix on a LAMPP server. In addition, I am using Zend_Mail to send the emails out.   • How to parse a CSV file containing serialized PHP? [migrated]

    I've just started dabbling in Perl, to try and gain some exposure to different programming languages - so forgive me if some of the following code is horrendous. I needed a quick and dirty CSV parser that could receive a CSV file, and split it into file batches containing "X" number of CSV lines (taking into account that entries could contain embedded newlines). I came up with a working solution, and it was going along just fine. However, as one of the CSV files that I'm trying to split, I came across one that contains serialized PHP code. This seems to break the CSV parsing. As soon as I remove the serialization - the CSV file is parsed correctly. Are there any tricks I need to know when it comes to parsing serialized data in CSV files?   • Tomcat 6: Access Control Exception?

    I'm trying to setup a tomcat6 server, and I'm trying to match another setup someone else established. However, my deployment (default Ubuntu install) uses a policy.d/ directory structure, and the established server just uses a catalina.policy file. I've tried setting every entry in policy.d to match the given catalina.policy, but I still get the following stacktrace on boot (from localhost log). I have two questions, then. First, how do I get tomcat to use a single poilcy file, rather than the directory structure presented by policy.d/? Secondly, why, when I specify all files to use the same policy, do I still get the stack trace below?   • Injection of banners in my webbrowsers possible malware

    Recently I have started to suspect that I have some kind of virus on my computer. There are 3 symptoms: Banners are being displayed on pages that doesn't use commercials, for instance when viewing screen-shots on Steam. It is only displayed after the rest of the page has been loaded and seems to be injected into it. The whole page is replaced with a commercial with the option to skip the commercial. The page is replaced with a search window claiming that the page could not be found. I have tried to scan my computer with Antivir and Adaware but only found a couple of tracking cookies. I have run HijackThis but since this isn't really my area I haven't been able to discern what shouldn't be there except the line about zonealarm since I have uninstalled it. Is there anyone out there who is able to see if there is anything suspicious in the log-file at the end or has suggestions regarding programs that might be better to find the virus than Antivir and Adaware?   • Accessing a file in Windows and Linux when working with JAVA+Eclipse.

    Hi there. I'm doing some JAVA coding at home and at work. At home i have Linux, work, Windows. The rootpath to X file in Windows is c:\Documents And Settings\User\My Documents\Dropbox\file.xxx and in Linux is something like /media/My Documents/Dropbox/file.xxx So, every time i edit in either system, i have to manually change the root of the file in a new File(FILEPATH) statement. Is there a workaround for this? I bet if the file root is relative to the project resource tree would do the trick, but that's an Eclipse based solution, not JAVA, i believe.

  • Quantifying the effects of partition mis-alignment

    I'm experiencing some significant performance issues on an NFS server. I've been reading up a bit on partition alignment, and I think I have my partitions mis-aligned. I can't find anything that tells me how to actually quantify the effects of mis-aligned partitions. Some of the general information I found suggests the performance penalty can be quite high (upwards of 60%) and others say it's negligible. What I want to do is determine if partition alignment is a factor in this server's performance problems or not; and if so, to what degree? So I'll put my info out here, and hopefully the community can confirm if my partitions are indeed mis-aligned, and if so, help me put a number to what the performance cost is. Server is a Dell R510 with dual E5620 CPUs and 8 GB RAM. There are eight 15k 2.5” 600 GB drives (Seagate ST3600057SS) configured in hardware RAID-6 with a single hot spare. RAID controller is a Dell PERC H700 w/512MB cache (Linux sees this as a LSI MegaSAS 9260). OS is CentOS 5.6, home directory partition is ext3, with options “rw,data=journal,usrquota”.
