  • Problem intialising 2D array

    Ok, so I have a 2D Array that is initialised with values from a file (format: x y z). My file reads in the values correctly but when adding the z value to the matrix/2DArray, I run into a segfault and I have no idea why. It is possibly incorrect use of pointers? I still don't quite have the hang of them yet. The map file has a max "x" value of 47 and a max "y" value of 63, I'm pretty sure I haven't got the order mixed up, so I don't know why the program is segfault-ing? I'm sure it's some newbie mistake...

  • Using KnockoutJS 2.2.0 & jQuery 1.8.2 remove all bindings from all children of #someDiv

    I'm wanting to delete All bindings (ko.cleanNode) from all child elements of a certain div. Must be a noobie question but I can't figure out how to use jQuery to loop through all childre, grand-children, great-grand-children, etc. whilst having KnockoutJS remove the bindings of all the DOM elements. I do NOT want to remove the elements from the DOM. This is a single page application, therefore the elements are pre-loaded as embedded resources and don't get resend to a client if they were to visit the page again. If a client revisits that part of the application I'll have a function rebind the necessary elements, which currently works fine.     I have a relatively simple PHP page called editcustomers with 3 columns. The problem I'm having is that the form will show when there is a record in the database and the fields will be populated with that info. When no such records exists, the form is not even shown, eliminating the possibility to insert a record. My page layout is as follows: Column 1 shows a form containing customer information, allowing it to be edited. Column 2 allows ordering of products and showing how many products were ordered Column 3 shows the total paid so far, and the total owing.   • Improved way to build nested array of unique values in javascript

    The setup: I have a nested html table structure that displays hierarchical data, and the individual rows can be hidden or shown by the user. Each row has a dom id that is comprised of the level number plus the primary key for the record type on that level. I have to have both, because each level is from a different database table, so the primary key alone is not unique in the dom. example: id="level-1-row-216" I am storing the levels and rows of the visible elements in a cookie, so that when the page reloads the same rows the user had open are can be shown automatically. I don't store the full map of dom ids, because I'm concerned about it getting too verbose, and I want to keep my cookie under 4Kb. So I convert the dom ids to a compact json object like this, with one property for each level, and a unique array of primary keys under each level: { 1:[231,432,7656], 2:[234,121], 3:[234,2], 4:[222,423], 5:[222] } With this structure stored in a cookie, I feed it to my show function and restore the user's previous disclosure state when the page loads. The area for improvement: I'm looking for better option for reducing my map of id selectors down to this compact format.   • Are there any CMS editors out there which users can populate locked down HTML templates with content

    Hi there, We work in email marketing, creating HTML/TEXT emails for clients. In essence we design HTML email templates for our clients. Clients then post us content (via a form) to populate these templates before we send them out. Right now we do this manually, basically cutting and pasting the content from their submitted form into the relevant parts of the template, which is time consuming and particularly mind-numbing. What we're looking for (and have so far been unable to find) is a simple system which will allow us to capture this client content in a sort of WYSIWYG HTML format. Basically they populate a locked down version of the template, entering text where necessary, before submitting to us. This is our most basic requirement, and a friend of mine kindly demo'd a proof of concept here: http://advantageone.co.uk/mbe/ Note: If you click on a text area in the body of the template, an editor pop ups. Now what we are looking for a CMS editor out there which can be easily adapted to do the above and the following for our end clients? User login View previously submitted campaigns that they have created and edit these Create new - selecting from template (assigned to their user/client id), perhaps being able to add new rows to the template. And have these HTML templates locked down so they can only edit what they're allowed too (like in the demo above), and perhaps make some areas required. Perhaps have a simple workflow or approval built in Allow us to lock submitted campaigns after a point so they can't be further edited, and as administrators view all campaigns from all users Be so incredibly simple, with any extraneous functionality switched off Essentially an extremley simple stripped down CMS, but we use the outputted HTML for sending out as an email, rather than publishing onto the web. Now to the actual dilemma: we're looking for something really simple, and the above sounds like a CMS. But we haven't been able to find anything that already does, or can be easily adapted to do this. Everything is either too complex, or simple and inflexible. We're sure there must be something off the shelf available, rather than us coding something ourselves. But we've kind of got stuck. Does anyone know of a system, or could recommend a system that can do the above out of the box, or with a few days tweaking?   • Drupal's profile_save_profile Doesn't Work in hook_cron, When Run by the Server's cron

    I have a problem with the following implementation of hook_cron in Drupal 6.1.3. The script below runs exactly as expected: it sends a welcome letter to new members, and updates a hidden field in their profile to designate that the letter has been sent. There are no errors in the letter, all new members are accounted for, etc. The problem is that the last line -- updating the profile -- doesn't seem to work when Drupal cron is invoked by the 'real' cron on the server. When I run cron manually (such as via /admin/reports/status/run-cron) the profile fields get updated as expected. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?     Problem Hello all! I have this code which takes my jpg image loops through altering pixels and finally saving it as a png type. The problem is that the resulting image has a bit depth of 32 bits. I need it to be 24 bit, can any one shiny some light on the correct method of setting it? Am I along the right tracks looking at setting the pixel format to PixelFormat24bppRGB?   • Allow users to pull temporary data then delete table?

    I don't know the best way to title this question but am trying to accomplish the following goal: When a client logs into their profile, they are presented with a link to download data from an existing database in CSV format. The process works, however, I would like for this data to be 'fresh' each time they click the link so my plan was - once a user has clicked the link and downloaded the CSV file, the database table would 'erase' all of its data and start fresh (be empty) until the next set of data populated it.     Say you have a Price object that accepts either an (int quantity, decimal price) or a string containing "4/$3.99". Is there a way to limit which properties can be set together? Feel free to correct me in my logic below. The Test: A and B are equal to each other, but the C example should not be allowed. Thus the question How to enforce that all three parameters are not invoked as in the C example?   • jQuery getScript function with frames

    Hello.. I'm a novice at Javascript/Jquery programming, so an apology if this is a simple/silly question. I am trying to use the jQuery .getScript() function to refresh part of an existing webpage. This webpage must be run on a local file system, and a large amount of the formatting is done using frames. Right now, there’s three main frames- a sidebar which displays possible “scopes” to choose from, a main frame which displays the majority of the contents of the webpage, and a footer frame. The main entry into the page is in an index.html file, which loads a sidebar.html, main.html, and footer.html file into each of the respective frames. In turn, the main.html has a number of javascript files which it loads, the main being a main.js, which contains numerous functions to format/process the contents for this main window. After loading this javascript file, main.html loads a few javascript files, which contain the data which is going to be displayed in the main frame. These files that are loaded have a fixed data structure, and are dependent on the functions that were loaded by the main.js file. Loading the webpage works fine now, but when a user tries to switch to another “scope”, the whole webpage is reloaded to make the switch. The only difference in the webpage is the content in the main.js frame, loaded in by a different set of .js files. Enough text, let’s look at some code. When the webpage loads, I tried to add a simple call to the getScript function in a .js file at the index.html level which handles switching scopes. This file, newFile, has different data definitions than the previously loaded oldFile.js which was loaded in the main.html file. $.getScript(/js/newFile.js); However this doesn’t work, since newFile.js depends on a parseData() function which is in main.js. If I open firebug up, parseData is not located in the dom tab, which I assume is related to some scoping issue with the main.html and main.js file existing in a different frame. I tried to do some targeting to the correct “frame” but I don’t think I understand jQuery enough to know what is happening. $(window.parent.frames[0]).getScript(/js/newFile.js); Any suggestions? If I were to type into firebug console “parseData” it can not find it: “ReferenceError: parseData is not defined” However, if I type in window.parent.frames[1].parseData, it can find the function.     So I have this schedule visit page with two groups. Group 1 contains a list of: Cases. Group 2 contains a list of: Parties. each group has a checkboxes next to its item for the user to select. My Issue when i select a case and/or a party and save -- then go to the edit page of the visit i just saved and only my selected case is checked and the party i selected is not checked. After debugging i realized that the partyId is not being saved properly during the create page and thus not showing as selected or saved on the edit page. I really need help on how to properly save the party selected and setting for it a value from the parameter. Specifically when they get success (video plays) and they exit back out, they don't get any other messages if they click another button. It is as if the click event is not triggered. The issue I am running into is that if a user adds one product with a quantity of x it is inserted into the array as it should. However, if they then decide to add more of a particular product a new entry is made into the array instead of checking if the product already exists and adjusting the quantity to the new value. oldQty + newQty.     I am using a background image to display as a button. The button shows up well in all versions of firefox, chrome, opera etc. However, the image fails to render itself in IE8. Only the image is not being shown, some of the other class styling gets applied such as width, height etc. Even more confounding is that in another page(though a different class and style sheet), an image of similar proportions gets displayed in similar usage. The image format is JPG. I'm copy-pasting the valid style attributes for both cases as shown by firebug below.     I don't know the best way to title this question but am trying to accomplish the following goal: When a client logs into their profile, they are presented with a link to download data from an existing database in CSV format. The process works, however, I would like for this data to be 'fresh' each time they click the link so my plan was - once a user has clicked the link and downloaded the CSV file, the database table would 'erase' all of its data and start fresh (be empty) until the next set of data populated it.   • style a navigation link when a particular div is shown

    I have JQuery working to show a particular div when a certain link is clicked. I have managed to apply the effect I'm after with the main navigation bar through id'ing the body tag and using css to style when the id is found. However, i'd like to apply the same effect to the sub navigation when a certain div is present.
