  • Silverlight Image Loading Question

    - by Matt
    I'm playing around with Silverlight Images and a listbox. Here's the scenario. Using WCF I grab some images out of my database and, using a custom class, add items to a listbox. It's working great right now. The images load and appear in the listbox, just like I want them to. I want to refine and improve my control just a little more so here's what I've done. <ListBox x:Name="lbMedia" Background="Transparent" ScrollViewer.HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled" ScrollViewer.VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto"> <ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <c:WrapPanel></c:WrapPanel> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <im:MediaManagerItem></im:MediaManagerItem> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> Just a simple listbox. The datatemplate is a custom control and literally it contains a contentpresenter, nothing more. Now the class that I use as the ItemSource has a Source property. Here's what it looks like. private UIElement _LoadingSource; private UIElement _Source; public UIElement Source { get { if( _Source == null ) { LoadMedia(); return new LoadingElement(); } return _Source; } set { if( !( value is Image ) && !( value is MediaElement ) ) throw new Exception( "Media Source must be an Image or MediaElement" ); _Source = value; NotifyPropertyChanged( "Source" ); } } Essentially, on the get I check if the image/video has been loaded from the server. If it hasn't I return a loading control, then I proceed to load my image. Here's the code for my LoadMedia method. private void LoadMedia() { if( _Media != null && _Media.MediaId > 0 ) { //load the media BackgroundWorker mediaLoader = new BackgroundWorker(); mediaLoader.DoWork += mediaLoader_DoWork; mediaLoader.RunWorkerCompleted += mediaLoader_RunWorkerCompleted; mediaLoader.RunWorkerAsync(); } } void mediaLoader_RunWorkerCompleted( object sender, RunWorkerCompletedEventArgs e ) { if(_LoadingSource != null) Source = _LoadingSource; } void mediaLoader_DoWork( object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e ) { string url = App.siteUrl + "download.ashx?MediaId=" + _Media.MediaId; SmartDispatcher.BeginInvoke( () => { Image img = new Image(); img.Source = new BitmapImage( new Uri( url, UriKind.Absolute ) ); _LoadingSource = img; } ); } So as the code goes, I create a new image element, and set the Uri. The images that I'm downloading take about 2-5 seconds to download. Now for the problem / fine tuning. Right now my code will check if the source is null and if it is, return a loading element, and run the background worker to get the image. Once the background worker finishes, set the source to the new downloaded image. I want to be able to set the Source property AFTER the image has fully downloaded. Right now my loading element appears for a brief second, then there's nothing for 2-5 seconds until the image finishes downloading. I want the loading elements to stick around until the image is completely ready but I'm having troubles doing this. I've tried adding a a listener to the ImageOpened event and update the Source property then, but it doesn't work. Thanks in advance.

  • jQuery UI Dialog problem if modal is set to TRUE

    - by VansFannel
    Hello! I'm developing an ASP.NET WebForm application with Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and C#. I have the following ASPX page: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head runat="server"> <title></title> <script src="js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="js/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#dialog").dialog({ autoOpen: false, modal: true, buttons: { 'Ok': function() { __doPostBack('TreeNew', ''); $(this).dialog('close'); }, Cancel: function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } }, close: function() { }, open: function(type, data) { $(this).parent().appendTo("form"); } }); }); function ShowDialog() { $('#dialog').dialog('open'); } </script> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <asp:Button ID="TreeNew" runat="server" Text="Nuevo" OnClientClick="ShowDialog();return false;" onclick="TreeNew_Click"/> <asp:Label ID="Message" runat="server"></asp:Label> <div id="dialog_target"></div> <div id="dialog" title="Select content type"> <p id="validateTips">All form fields are required.</p> <asp:RadioButtonList ID="ContentTypeList" runat="server"> <asp:ListItem Value="1">Text</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="2">Image</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="3">Audio</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="4">Video</asp:ListItem> </asp:RadioButtonList> </div> </div> <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"> </asp:ScriptManager> </form> </body> </html> When modal is set to true the page stars to grow (I know that because both scroll bars are getting smaller, vertical bar faster than horizontal bar). Looking inside page source code I see that the following div is outside forms tag: <div class="ui-widget-overlay" style="z-index: 1001; width: 1280px; height: 65089px;" jQuery1267345392312="20"/> If I set modal to false, the error doesn't happen. I think the problem is that the div working as modal is outside the form. What do you think?

  • ASP.NET MVC 2 Model encapsulated within ViewModel Validation

    - by Program.X
    I am trying to get validation to work in ASP.NET MVC 2, but without much success. I have a complex class containing a large number of fields. (Don't ask - this is oneo f those real-world situations best practices can't touch) This would normally be my Model and is a LINQ-to-SQL generated class. Because this is generated code, I have created a MetaData class as per http://davidhayden.com/blog/dave/archive/2009/08/10/AspNetMvc20BuddyClassesMetadataType.aspx. public class ConsultantRegistrationMetadata { [DisplayName("Title")] [Required(ErrorMessage = "Title is required")] [StringLength(10, ErrorMessage = "Title cannot contain more than 10 characters")] string Title { get; set; } [Required(ErrorMessage = "Forename(s) is required")] [StringLength(128, ErrorMessage = "Forename(s) cannot contain more than 128 characters")] [DisplayName("Forename(s)")] string Forenames { get; set; } // ... I've attached this to the partial class of my generated class: [MetadataType(typeof(ConsultantRegistrationMetadata))] public partial class ConsultantRegistration { // ... Because my form is complex, it has a number of dependencies, such as SelectLists, etc. which I have encapsulated in a ViewModel pattern - and included the ConsultantRegistration model as a property: public class ConsultantRegistrationFormViewModel { public Data.ConsultantRegistration ConsultantRegistration { get; private set; } public SelectList Titles { get; private set; } public SelectList Countries { get; private set; } // ... So it is essentially ViewModel=Model My View then has: <p> <%: Html.LabelFor(model => model.ConsultantRegistration.Title) %> <%: Html.DropDownListFor(model => model.ConsultantRegistration.Title, Model.Titles,"(select a Title)") %> <%: Html.ValidationMessage("Title","*") %> </p> <p> <%: Html.LabelFor(model => model.ConsultantRegistration.Forenames) %> <%: Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.ConsultantRegistration.Forenames) %> <%: Html.ValidationMessageFor(model=>model.ConsultantRegistration.Forenames) %> </p> The problem is, the validation attributes on the metadata class are having no effect. I tried doing it via an Interface, but also no effect. I'm beginning to think that the reason is because I am encapsulating my model within a ViewModel. My Controller (Create Action) is as follows: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Create(Data.ConsultantRegistration consultantRegistration) { if (ModelState.IsValid) // this is always true - which is wrong!! { try { consultantRegistration = ConsultantRegistrationRepository.SaveConsultantRegistration(consultantRegistration); return RedirectToAction("Edit", new { id = consultantRegistration.ID, sectionIndex = 2 }); } catch (Exception ex) { ModelState.AddModelError("CreateException",ex); } } return View(new ConsultantRegistrationFormViewModel(consultantRegistration)); } As outlined in the comment, the ModelState.IsValid property always returns true, despite fields with the Validaiton annotations not being valid. (Forenames being a key example). Am I missing something obvious - considering I am an MVC newbie? I'm after the mechanism demoed by Jon Galloway at http://www.asp.net/learn/mvc-videos/video-10082.aspx. (Am aware t is similar to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1260562/asp-net-mvc-model-viewmodel-validation but that post seems to talk about xVal. I have no idea what that is and suspect it is for MVC 1)

  • Java - Problem when Resizing a JInternalFrame

    - by Amokrane
    Hi, In a previous SO question, I was talking about somes issues dealing with my MDI architecture. I have now another problem, when resizing my JInternalFrame. Here is a short video that illustrates the problem. I have a class: Cadre which is basically my JInternalFrame. public class Cadre extends JInternalFrame { /** Largeur par d'une fenêtre interne */ private int width; /** Hauteur d'une fenêtre interne */ private int height; /** Titre d'une fenêtre interne */ private String title; /** Toile associée à la fenêtre interne */ private Toile toile; /** Permet de compter le nombre de fenêtres internes ouvertes */ static int frameCount = 0; /** Permet de décaler les fenêtres internes à l'ouverture */ static final int xDecalage = 30, yDecalage = 30; public Cadre() { super("Form # " + (++frameCount), true, //resizable true, //closable true, //maximizable true);//iconifiable // Taille de la fenêtre interne par défaut width = 500; height = 500; // Titre par défaut title = "Form # " + (frameCount); // On associe une nouvelle toile à la fenêtre toile = new Toile(); this.setContentPane(toile); // On spécifie le titre this.setTitle(title); // Taille de chaque form par défaut this.setSize(width, height); // Permet d'ouvrir les frames de manière décalée par rapport à la dernière ouverte this.setLocation(xDecalage * frameCount, yDecalage * frameCount); } } And this is the JFrame that contains all the JInternalFrame(s): public class Fenetre extends JFrame { /** Titre de la fenêtre principale */ private String title; /** Largeur de la fenêtre */ private int width; /** Hauteur de la fenêtre */ private int height; /** Le menu */ private Menu menu; /** La barre d'outils */ private ToolBox toolBox; /** La zone contenant les JInternalFrame */ private JDesktopPane planche; /** Le pannel comportant la liste des formes à dessiner*/ private Pannel pannel; /** La liste de fenêtres ouvertes */ private static ArrayList<Cadre> cadres; public Fenetre(String inTitle, int inWidth, int inHeight) { // lecture de la taille de la frame width = inWidth; height = inHeight; // lecture du titre de la fenêtre title = inTitle; // On spécifie la taille de la fenêtre ainsi que le titre this.setSize(width, height); this.setTitle(title); // Initialisations des listes de cadres cadres = new ArrayList<Cadre>(); // Instanciation de la fenêtre this.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); // On définit un layout pour notre frame this.setLayout(new BorderLayout()); // On crée la zone supérieure : Menu + ToolBar JPanel banniere = new JPanel(); banniere.setLayout(new BorderLayout()); // Instanciation d'un menu menu = new Menu(this); this.setJMenuBar(menu); // En haut la ToolBox toolBox = new ToolBox(); this.add(toolBox, BorderLayout.NORTH); // Ajout du pannel à gauche pannel = new Pannel(); this.add(pannel, BorderLayout.WEST); **// Intialisation de la planche de dessin planche = new JDesktopPane(); // On ajoute une Internal frame à notre desktop pane Cadre cadre = new Cadre(); cadre.setVisible(true); planche.add(cadre); try { cadre.setSelected(true); } catch (PropertyVetoException e) { e.printStackTrace(); }** // Pour faire en sorte que le déplacement soit "nice" planche.setDragMode(JDesktopPane.OUTLINE_DRAG_MODE); // On ajoute le nouveau cadre crée à la liste des cadres cadres.add(cadre); // Le contenu principal de la fenêtre est la planche contenant les différentes JInternalFrame this.getContentPane().add(planche); this.setVisible(true); } } So as you can see, I have declared a: JDesktopPane inside the main JFrame of my application. Any idea how to solve this? Thank you!

  • Encode audio to aac with libavcodec

    - by ryan
    I'm using libavcodec (latest git as of 3/3/10) to encode raw pcm to aac (libfaac support enabled). I do this by calling avcodec_encode_audio repeatedly with codec_context-frame_size samples each time. The first four calls return successfully, but the fifth call never returns. When I use gdb to break, the stack is corrupt. If I use audacity to export the pcm data to a .wav file, then I can use command-line ffmpeg to convert to aac without any issues, so I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong. I've written a small test program that duplicates my problem. It reads the test data from a file, which is available here: http://birdie.protoven.com/audio.pcm (~2 seconds of signed 16 bit LE pcm) I can make it all work if I use FAAC directly, but the code would be a little cleaner if I could just use libavcodec, as I'm also encoding video, and writing both to an mp4. ffmpeg version info: FFmpeg version git-c280040, Copyright (c) 2000-2010 the FFmpeg developers built on Mar 3 2010 15:40:46 with gcc 4.4.1 configuration: --enable-libfaac --enable-gpl --enable-nonfree --enable-version3 --enable-postproc --enable-pthreads --enable-debug=3 --enable-shared libavutil 50.10. 0 / 50.10. 0 libavcodec 52.55. 0 / 52.55. 0 libavformat 52.54. 0 / 52.54. 0 libavdevice 52. 2. 0 / 52. 2. 0 libswscale 0.10. 0 / 0.10. 0 libpostproc 51. 2. 0 / 51. 2. 0 Is there something I'm not setting, or setting incorrectly in my codec context, maybe? Any help is greatly appreciated! Here is my test code: #include <stdio.h> #include <libavcodec/avcodec.h> void EncodeTest(int sampleRate, int channels, int audioBitrate, uint8_t *audioData, size_t audioSize) { AVCodecContext *audioCodec; AVCodec *codec; uint8_t *buf; int bufSize, frameBytes; avcodec_register_all(); //Set up audio encoder codec = avcodec_find_encoder(CODEC_ID_AAC); if (codec == NULL) return; audioCodec = avcodec_alloc_context(); audioCodec->bit_rate = audioBitrate; audioCodec->sample_fmt = SAMPLE_FMT_S16; audioCodec->sample_rate = sampleRate; audioCodec->channels = channels; audioCodec->profile = FF_PROFILE_AAC_MAIN; audioCodec->time_base = (AVRational){1, sampleRate}; audioCodec->codec_type = CODEC_TYPE_AUDIO; if (avcodec_open(audioCodec, codec) < 0) return; bufSize = FF_MIN_BUFFER_SIZE * 10; buf = (uint8_t *)malloc(bufSize); if (buf == NULL) return; frameBytes = audioCodec->frame_size * audioCodec->channels * 2; while (audioSize >= frameBytes) { int packetSize; packetSize = avcodec_encode_audio(audioCodec, buf, bufSize, (short *)audioData); printf("encoder returned %d bytes of data\n", packetSize); audioData += frameBytes; audioSize -= frameBytes; } } int main() { FILE *stream = fopen("audio.pcm", "rb"); size_t size; uint8_t *buf; if (stream == NULL) { printf("Unable to open file\n"); return 1; } fseek(stream, 0, SEEK_END); size = ftell(stream); fseek(stream, 0, SEEK_SET); buf = (uint8_t *)malloc(size); fread(buf, sizeof(uint8_t), size, stream); fclose(stream); EncodeTest(32000, 2, 448000, buf, size); }

    Hi Everyone, I am following the 15 minute blog tutorial on Ruby on Rails .com: http://media.rubyonrails.org/video/rails_blog_2.mov and am stumbling into some issues. I am using the following alterations to the names in the tutorial: posts = kases comments = notes I have setup the models as follows: class Kase < ActiveRecord::Base validates_presence_of :jobno has_many :notes belongs_to :company # foreign key: company_id belongs_to :person # foreign key in join table belongs_to :surveyor, :class_name => "Company", :foreign_key => "appointedsurveyor_id" belongs_to :surveyorperson, :class_name => "Person", :foreign_key => "surveyorperson_id" def to_param jobno end and... class Note < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :kase end The Notes controller look like this: # POST /notes # POST /notes.xml def create @kase = Kase.find(params[:kase_id]) @note = @kase.notes.build(params[:note]) redirect_to @kase end and the database scheme for Kases looks like this: create_table "notes", :force => true do |t| t.integer "kase_id" t.text "body" t.datetime "created_at" t.datetime "updated_at" end and for kases... create_table "kases", :force => true do |t| t.string "jobno" t.date "dateinstructed" t.string "clientref" t.string "clientcompanyname" t.text "clientcompanyaddress" t.string "clientcompanyfax" t.string "casehandlername" t.string "casehandlertel" t.string "casehandleremail" t.text "casesubject" t.string "transport" t.string "goods" t.string "claimantname" t.string "claimantaddressline1" t.string "claimantaddressline2" t.string "claimantaddressline3" t.string "claimantaddresscity" t.string "claimantaddresspostcode" t.string "claimantcontact" t.string "claimanttel" t.string "claimantmob" t.string "claimantemail" t.string "claimanturl" t.string "lyingatlocationname" t.string "lyingatlocationaddressline1" t.string "lyingatlocationaddressline2" t.string "lyingatlocationaddressline3" t.string "lyingatlocationaddresscity" t.string "lyingatlocationaddresspostcode" t.string "lyingatlocationcontactname" t.string "lyingattel" t.string "lyingatmobile" t.string "lyingatlocationurl" t.text "comments" t.string "invoicenumber" t.string "netamount" t.string "vat" t.string "grossamount" t.date "dateclosed" t.date "datepaid" t.datetime "filecreated" t.string "avatar_file_name" t.string "avatar_content_type" t.integer "avatar_file_size" t.datetime "avatar_updated_at" t.datetime "created_at" t.datetime "updated_at" t.string "kase_status" t.string "invoice_date" t.integer "surveyorperson_id" t.integer "appointedsurveyor_id" t.integer "person_id" t.string "company_id" t.string "dischargeamount" t.string "dishchargeheader" t.text "highrisesubject" end Whenever I enter a note into the kase show view's note entry form: <h2>Notes</h2> <div id="sub-notes"> <%= render :partial => @kase.notes %> </div> <% form_for [@kase, Note.new] do |f| %> <p> <%= f.label :body, "New Note" %><br /> <%= f.text_area :body %> </p> <p><%= f.submit "Add Note" %></p> <% end %> partial: <% div_for note do %> <p> <strong>Created <%= time_ago_in_words(note.created_at) %> ago</strong><br /> <%= h(note.body) %> </p> <% end %> I get the following error: ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound in NotesController#create Couldn't find Kase with ID=Test Case I have tried removing the def to_param jobno end from the kase model, but the same error shows. Any ideas what I'm missing? Thanks, Danny

  • GLSL Error: failed to preprocess the source. How can I troubleshoot this?

    - by Brent Parker
    I'm trying to learn to play with OpenGL GLSL shaders. I've written a very simple program to simply create a shader and compile it. However, whenever I get to the compile step, I get the error: Error: Preprocessor error Error: failed to preprocess the source. Here's my very simple code: #include <GL/gl.h> #include <GL/glu.h> #include <GL/glut.h> #include <GL/glext.h> #include <time.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <iostream> #include <stdlib.h> using namespace std; const int screenWidth = 640; const int screenHeight = 480; const GLchar* gravity_shader[] = { "#version 140" "uniform float t;" "uniform mat4 MVP;" "in vec4 pos;" "in vec4 vel;" "const vec4 g = vec4(0.0, 0.0, -9.80, 0.0);" "void main() {" " vec4 position = pos;" " position += t*vel + t*t*g;" " gl_Position = MVP * position;" "}" }; double pointX = (double)screenWidth/2.0; double pointY = (double)screenWidth/2.0; void initShader() { GLuint shader = glCreateShader(GL_VERTEX_SHADER); glShaderSource(shader, 1, gravity_shader, NULL); glCompileShader(shader); GLint compiled = true; glGetShaderiv(shader, GL_COMPILE_STATUS, &compiled); if(!compiled) { GLint length; GLchar* log; glGetShaderiv(shader, GL_INFO_LOG_LENGTH, &length); log = (GLchar*)malloc(length); glGetShaderInfoLog(shader, length, &length, log); std::cout << log <<std::endl; free(log); } exit(0); } bool myInit() { initShader(); glClearColor(1.0f, 1.0f, 1.0f, 0.0f); glColor3f(0.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f); glPointSize(1.0); glLineWidth(1.0f); glMatrixMode(GL_PROJECTION); glLoadIdentity(); gluOrtho2D(0.0, (GLdouble) screenWidth, 0.0, (GLdouble) screenHeight); glEnable(GL_DEPTH_TEST); return true; } int main(int argc, char** argv) { glutInit(&argc, argv); glutInitDisplayMode(GLUT_DOUBLE | GLUT_RGB); glutInitWindowSize(screenWidth, screenHeight); glutInitWindowPosition(100, 150); glutCreateWindow("Mouse Interaction Display"); myInit(); glutMainLoop(); return 0; } Where am I going wrong? If it helps, I am trying to do this on a Acer Aspire One with an atom processor and integrated Intel video running the latest Ubuntu. It's not very powerful, but then again, this is a very simple shader. Thanks a lot for taking a look!

  • Large number of soft page faults when assigning a TJpegImage to a TBitmap

    - by Robert Oschler
    I have a Delphi 6 Pro application that processes incoming jpeg frames from a streaming video server. The code works but I recently noticed that it generates a huge number of soft page faults over time. After doing some investigation, the page faults appear to be coming from one particular graphics operation. Note, the uncompressed bitmaps in question are 320 x 240 or about 300 KB in size so it's not due to the handling of large images. The number of page faults being generated isn't tolerable. Over an hour it can easily top 1000000 page faults. I created a stripped down test case that executes the code I have included below on a timer, 10 times a second. The page faults appear to happen when I try to assign the TJpegImage to a TBitmap in the GetBitmap() method. I know this because I commented out that line and the page faults do not occur. The assign() triggers a decompression operation on the part of TJpegImage as it pushes the decompressed bits into a newly created bitmap that GetBitmap() returns. When I run Microsoft's pfmon utility (page fault monitor), I get a huge number of soft page fault error lines concerning RtlFillMemoryUlong, so it appears to happen during a memory buffer fill operation. One puzzling note. The summary part of pfmon's report where it shows which DLL caused what page fault does not show any DLL names in the far left column. I tried this on another system and it happens there too. Can anyone suggest a fix or a workaround? Here's the code. Note, IReceiveBufferForClientSocket is a simple class object that holds bytes in an accumulating buffer. function GetBitmap(theJpegImage: TJpegImage): Graphics.TBitmap; begin Result := TBitmap.Create; Result.Assign(theJpegImage); end; // --------------------------------------------------------------- procedure processJpegFrame(intfReceiveBuffer: IReceiveBufferForClientSocket); var theBitmap: TBitmap; theJpegStream, theBitmapStream: TMemoryStream; theJpegImage: TJpegImage; begin theBitmap := nil; theJpegImage := TJPEGImage.Create; theJpegStream:= TMemoryStream.Create; theBitmapStream := TMemoryStream.Create; try // 2 // ************************ BEGIN JPEG FRAME PROCESSING // Load the JPEG image from the receive buffer. theJpegStream.Size := intfReceiveBuffer.numBytesInBuffer; Move(intfReceiveBuffer.bufPtr^, theJpegStream.Memory^, intfReceiveBuffer.numBytesInBuffer); theJpegImage.LoadFromStream(theJpegStream); // Convert to bitmap. theBitmap := GetBitmap(theJpegImage); finally // Free memory objects. if Assigned(theBitmap) then theBitmap.Free; if Assigned(theJpegImage) then theJpegImage.Free; if Assigned(theBitmapStream) then theBitmapStream.Free; if Assigned(theJpegStream) then theJpegStream.Free; end; // try() end; // --------------------------------------------------------------- procedure TForm1.Timer1Timer(Sender: TObject); begin processJpegFrame(FIntfReceiveBufferForClientSocket); end; // --------------------------------------------------------------- procedure TForm1.FormCreate(Sender: TObject); var S: string; begin FIntfReceiveBufferForClientSocket := TReceiveBufferForClientSocket.Create(1000000); S := loadStringFromFile('c:\test.jpg'); FIntfReceiveBufferForClientSocket.assign(S); end; // --------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks, Robert

  • Action bar with Search View. Reverse compatibility issues

    - by suresh
    I am building a sample app to demonstrate SearchView with filter and other Action Bar items. I am able to successfully run this app on 4.2(Nexus 7). But it is not running on 2.3. I googled about the issue. Came to know that i should use SherLock Action bar. I just went to http://actionbarsherlock.com/download.html, downloaded the zip file and added the library as informed in the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GJ6yY1lNNY&feature=player_embedde by WiseManDesigns. But still I am unable to figure out the issue. Here is my code: SearchViewActionBar.java public class SearchViewActionBar extends Activity implements SearchView.OnQueryTextListener { private SearchView mSearchView; private TextView mStatusView; int mSortMode = -1; private ListView mListView; private ArrayAdapter<String> mAdapter; protected CharSequence[] _options = { "Wild Life", "River", "Hill Station", "Temple", "Bird Sanctuary", "Hill", "Amusement Park"}; protected boolean[] _selections = new boolean[ _options.length ]; private final String[] mStrings = Cheeses.sCheeseStrings; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); getWindow().requestFeature(Window.FEATURE_ACTION_BAR); setContentView(R.layout.activity_main); // mStatusView = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.status_text); // mSearchView = (SearchView) findViewById(R.id.search_view); mListView = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.list_view); mListView.setAdapter(mAdapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, android.R.layout.simple_list_item_1, mStrings)); mListView.setTextFilterEnabled(true); //setupSearchView(); } private void setupSearchView() { mSearchView.setIconifiedByDefault(true); mSearchView.setOnQueryTextListener(this); mSearchView.setSubmitButtonEnabled(false); //mSearchView.setQueryHint(getString(R.string.cheese_hunt_hint)); } @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { super.onCreateOptionsMenu(menu); MenuInflater inflater = getMenuInflater(); inflater.inflate(R.menu.searchview_in_menu, menu); MenuItem searchItem = menu.findItem(R.id.action_search); mSearchView = (SearchView) searchItem.getActionView(); //setupSearchView(searchItem); setupSearchView(); return true; } @Override public boolean onPrepareOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { if (mSortMode != -1) { Drawable icon = menu.findItem(mSortMode).getIcon(); menu.findItem(R.id.action_sort).setIcon(icon); } return super.onPrepareOptionsMenu(menu); } @Override public boolean onOptionsItemSelected(MenuItem item) { String c="Category"; String s=(String) item.getTitle(); if(s.equals(c)) { System.out.println("same"); showDialog( 0 ); } //System.out.println(s); Toast.makeText(this, "Selected Item: " + item.getTitle(), Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); return true; } protected Dialog onCreateDialog( int id ) { return new AlertDialog.Builder( this ) .setTitle( "Category" ) .setMultiChoiceItems( _options, _selections, new DialogSelectionClickHandler() ) .setPositiveButton( "SAVE", new DialogButtonClickHandler() ) .create(); } public class DialogSelectionClickHandler implements DialogInterface.OnMultiChoiceClickListener { public void onClick( DialogInterface dialog, int clicked, boolean selected ) { Log.i( "ME", _options[ clicked ] + " selected: " + selected ); } } public class DialogButtonClickHandler implements DialogInterface.OnClickListener { public void onClick( DialogInterface dialog, int clicked ) { switch( clicked ) { case DialogInterface.BUTTON_POSITIVE: printSelectedPlanets(); break; } } } protected void printSelectedPlanets() { for( int i = 0; i < _options.length; i++ ){ Log.i( "ME", _options[ i ] + " selected: " + _selections[i] ); } } public void onSort(MenuItem item) { mSortMode = item.getItemId(); invalidateOptionsMenu(); } public boolean onQueryTextChange(String newText) { if (TextUtils.isEmpty(newText)) { mListView.clearTextFilter(); } else { mListView.setFilterText(newText.toString()); } return true; } public boolean onQueryTextSubmit(String query) { mStatusView.setText("Query = " + query + " : submitted"); return false; } public boolean onClose() { mStatusView.setText("Closed!"); return false; } protected boolean isAlwaysExpanded() { return false; } }

  • Scrolling a canvas as a shape you're moving approaches its edges

    - by Steven Sproat
    Hi, I develop a Python-based drawing program, Whyteboard. I have tools that the user can create new shapes on the canvas, such as text/images/rectangles/circles/polygons. I also have a Select tool that allows the users to modify these shapes - for example, moving a shape's position, resizing, or editing polygon's points' positions. I'm adding in a new feature where moving or resizing a point near the canvas edge will automatically scroll the canvas. I think it's a good idea in terms of program usability, and annoys me when other program's don't have this feature. I've made some good progress on coding this; below is some Python code to demonstrate what I'm doing. These functions demonstrate how some shapes calculate their "edges": def find_edges(self): """A line.""" self.edges = {EDGE_TOP: min(self.y, self.y2), EDGE_RIGHT: max(self.x, self.x2), EDGE_BOTTOM: max(self.y, self.y2), EDGE_LEFT: min(self. x, self.x2)} def find_edges(self): """An image""" self.edges = {EDGE_TOP: self.y, EDGE_RIGHT: self.x + self.image.GetWidth(), EDGE_BOTTOM: self.y + self.image.GetWidth(), EDGE_LEFT: self.x} def find_edges(self): """Get the bounding rectangle for the polygon""" xmin = min(x for x, y in self.points) ymin = min(y for x, y in self.points) xmax = max(x for x, y in self.points) ymax = max(y for x, y in self.points) self.edges = {EDGE_TOP: ymin, EDGE_RIGHT: xmax, EDGE_BOTTOM: ymax, EDGE_LEFT: xmin} And here's the code I have so far to implement the scrolling when a shape nears the edge: def check_canvas_scroll(self, x, y, moving=False): """ We check that the x/y coords are within 50px from the edge of the canvas and scroll the canvas accordingly. If the shape is being moved, we need to check specific edges of the shape (e.g. left/right side of rectangle) """ size = self.board.GetClientSizeTuple() # visible area of the canvas if not self.board.area > size: # canvas is too small to need to scroll return start = self.board.GetViewStart() # user's starting "viewport" scroll = (-1, -1) # -1 means no change if moving: if self.shape.edges[EDGE_RIGHT] > start[0] + size[0] - 50: scroll = (start[0] + 5, -1) if self.shape.edges[EDGE_BOTTOM] > start[1] + size[1] - 50: scroll = (-1, start[1] + 5) # snip others else: if x > start[0] + size[0] - 50: scroll = (start[0] + 5, -1) if y > start[1] + size[1] - 50: scroll = (-1, start[1] + 5) # snip others self.board.Scroll(*scroll) This code actually works pretty well. If we're moving a shape, then we need to know its edges to calculate when they're coming close to the canvas edge. If we're resizing just a single point, then we just use the x/y coords of that point to see if it's close to the edge. The problem I'm having is a little tricky to describe - basically, if you move a shape to the left, and stop moving it, if you positioned the shape within the 50px from the canvas, then the next time you go to move the shape, the code that says "ok, is this shape close to the end?" gets triggered, and the canvas scrolls to the left, even if you're moving the shape to the right. Can anyone think on how to stop this? I created a youtube video to demonstrate the issue. At about 0:54, I move a polygon to the left of the canvas and position it there. The next time I move it, the canvas scrolls to the left even though I'm moving it right Another thing I'd like to add, but I'm stuck on is the scroll gaining momentum the longer a shape is scrolling? So, with a large canvas, you're not moving a shape for ages, moving 5px at a time, when you need to cover a 2000px distance. Any suggestions there? Thanks all - sorry for the super long question!

    Hi I have a code which can show youtube videos if there are any links to youtube in the text like for example the text example at:- pradyut.dyndns.org http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LiPMxFBLZY testing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3-l22b_Qg8&feature=related this text i m forwarding to the function... function to_youtubelink(text) { if ( text.indexOf ('<') > 0 || text.indexOf ('"') > 0 || text.indexOf ('>') > 0 ) return text; else { var obj_text = new Array(); var oi = 0; while(text.indexOf('http://') >=0) { //getting the paths var si = text.indexOf('http://'); var gr = text.indexOf('\n', si); var sp = text.indexOf(' ', si); var ei; if ( gr > 0 || sp > 0 ) { if ( gr >0 && sp > 0 ) { if ( gr < sp ) { ei = gr ; } else { ei = sp ; } } else if ( gr > 0) { ei = gr; } else { ei = sp; } } else { ei = text.length; } var it = text.substring(si,ei); if ( it.indexOf('"') > 0) { it.substring(0, it.indexOf('"') ); } if(ei < 0) ei = text.length; else ei = text.indexOf(' ', si) ; obj_text[oi] = it; text = text.replace( it, '[link_service]'); oi++; } var ob_text = new Array(); var ob =0; for (oi=0; oi<obj_text.length; oi++) { if ( is_youtubelink( obj_text[oi] ) ) { ob_text[ob] = to_utubelink(obj_text[oi]); ob++; } } oi = 0; while ( text.indexOf('[link_service]') >=0 ) { text = text.replace( '[link_service]', obj_text[oi]); oi ++; } for (ob=0; ob<ob_text.length; ob++) { text = text +"\n\n" + ob_text[ob]; } return text; } } function is_youtubelink(text) { var matches = text.match(/http:\/\/(?:www\.)?youtube.*watch\?v=([a-zA-Z0-9\-_]+)/); if (matches) { return true; } else { return false; } } function to_utubelink(text) { var video_id = text.split('v=')[1]; var ampersandPosition = video_id.indexOf('&'); if(ampersandPosition != -1) { video_id = video_id.substring(0, ampersandPosition); } text = "<iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text/html\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" src=\"http://www.youtube.com/embed/" + video_id + "\" frameborder=\"0\"></iframe>" return text; } now i m getting the output properly... but i was thinking if the code could be done better and simplified using regex ...especially getting the urls part... thanks

  • Why does my Ajax function returns my entire code?

    - by JDelage
    I'm playing with sample code from the book "Head first Ajax". Here are the salient pieces of code: Index.php - html piece: <body> <div id="wrapper"> <div id="thumbnailPane"> <img src="images/itemGuitar.jpg" width="301" height="105" alt="guitar" title="itemGuitar" id="itemGuitar" onclick="getDetails(this)"/> <img src="images/itemShades.jpg" alt="sunglasses" width="301" height="88" title="itemShades" id="itemShades" onclick="getDetails(this)" /> <img src="images/itemCowbell.jpg" alt="cowbell" width="301" height="126" title="itemCowbell" id="itemCowbell" onclick="getDetails(this)" /> <img src="images/itemHat.jpg" alt="hat" width="300" height="152" title="itemHat" id="itemHat" onclick="getDetails(this)" /> </div> <div id="detailsPane"> <img src="images/blank-detail.jpg" width="346" height="153" id="itemDetail" /> <div id="description"></div> </div> </div> </body> Index.php - script: function getDetails(img){ var title = img.title; request = createRequest(); if (request == null) { alert("Unable to create request"); return; } var url= "getDetails.php?ImageID=" + escape(title); request.open("GET", url, true); request.onreadystatechange = displayDetails; request.send(null); } function displayDetails() { if (request.readyState == 4) { if (request.status == 200) { detailDiv = document.getElementById("description"); detailDiv.innerHTML = request.responseText; }else{ return; } }else{ return; } request.send(null); } And Index.php: <?php $details = array ( 'itemGuitar' => "<p>Pete Townshend once played this guitar while his own axe was in the shop having bits of drumkit removed from it.</p>", 'itemShades' => "<p>Yoko Ono's sunglasses. While perhaps not valued much by Beatles fans, this pair is rumored to have been licked by John Lennon.</p>", 'itemCowbell' => "<p>Remember the famous \"more cowbell\" skit from Saturday Night Live? Well, this is the actual cowbell.</p>", 'itemHat' => "<p>Michael Jackson's hat, as worn in the \"Billie Jean\" video. Not really rock memorabilia, but it smells better than Slash's tophat.</p>" ); if (isset($_REQUEST['ImageID'])){echo $details[$_REQUEST['ImageID']];} ?> All this code does is that when someone clicks on a thumbnail, a corresponding text description appears on the page. Here is my question. I have tried to bring the getDetails.php code inside Index.php, and modify the getDetails function so that the var url be "Index.php?ImageID="... . When I do that, I get the following problem: the function does not display the snippet of text in the array, as it should. Instead it reproduces the entire code - the webpage, etc - and then at the bottom the expected snippet of text. Why is that?

  • Looping through siblings of a specific row/setting up function

    - by Matt
    Trying to work through my javascript book I am referencing to learn the language and got stuck on looping through siblings of a specific row. W3schools and W3 didnt have what i was looking for. Below is a function walk-through... It reads: Create the countRecords() function. The purpose of this function is to count the number of visible rows in the data table after the table headings. The total is then displayed in the table cell with the id "records". Add the follow commands to the function: a. Create a object named headRow that points to the table row with the id "titleRow". Create a variable named rowCount, setting its initial value to 0. b. Create a for loop that uses familial references starting with the first sibling of headRow and moving to the next sibling until there are no siblings left. Within the for loop. test whether the node name of the currentnext sibling until there are no sibilings left. Within the for loop test whether the node name of the current node is equal to "TR". If it is, test wheter the value of its display style is equal to an empty text string. If it is (indicating that it is visible in the document) increate the value of the rowCount variable by 1. c. Change the text of the "records" table cell to the value of the rowCount variable. Don't use innerHTML. Create a text node that contains the value of the rowCount variable and assign it to a variable called txt. Create a variable called record to store the reference to the element "records" table cell. d. Insert an if condition that test whether the "records" cell has any child nodes. If it does, replace the replace the text node of the "record" table cell with the created text node (txt). If it doesn't append the text node to the cell. var headRow; // part a var rowCount = 0; //part b this is where I get lost. I know I need to access the id titleRow but unsure how to set my loop up specifically for this headRow = document.getElementById("titleRow"); for(var i=0; i<headrow.length; i++) { if (something is not equal == "TH") { make code happen here } if (is "TR" == ""){ rowCount = +1; } //part c var txt = document.createTextNode(rowCount); var record = document.getElementsById("records") //part d holding off on this part until I get a,b,c figured out. The HTML supporting snippet: <table id="filters"> <tr><th colspan="2">Filter Product List</th></tr> <tr> <td>Records: </td> <td id="records"></td> </tr> <table id="prodTable"> <tr><th colspan="8">Digital Cameras</th></tr> <tr id="titleRow"> <th>Model</th> <th>Manufacturer</th> <th>Resolution</th> <th>Zoom</th> <th>Media</th> <th>Video</th> <th>Microphone</th> </tr> Thanks for the help!

  • Issue getting camera emulation to work with Tom G's HttpCamera

    - by user591524
    I am trying to use the android emulator to preview video from webcam. I have used the tom gibara sample code, minus the webbroadcaster (i am instead using VLC streaming via http). So, I have modified the SDK's "CameraPreview" app to use the HttpCamera, but the stream never appears. Debugging through doesn't give me any clues either. I wonder if anything obvious is clear to others? The preview app launches and remains black. Notes: 1) I have updated the original CameraPreview class as described here: http://www.inter-fuser.com/2009/09/live-camera-preview-in-android-emulator.html, but referencing httpCamera instead of socketcamera. 2) I updated Tom's original example to reference "Camera" type instead of deprecated "CameraDevice" type. 3) Below is my CameraPreview.java. 4) THANK YOU package com.example.android.apis.graphics; import android.app.Activity; import android.content.Context; import android.hardware.Camera; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.SurfaceHolder; import android.view.SurfaceView; import android.view.Window; import java.io.IOException; import android.graphics.Canvas; // ---------------------------------------------------------------------- public class CameraPreview extends Activity { private Preview mPreview; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); // Hide the window title. requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_NO_TITLE); // Create our Preview view and set it as the content of our activity. mPreview = new Preview(this); setContentView(mPreview); } } // ---------------------------------------------------------------------- class Preview extends SurfaceView implements SurfaceHolder.Callback { SurfaceHolder mHolder; //Camera mCamera; HttpCamera mCamera;//changed Preview(Context context) { super(context); // Install a SurfaceHolder.Callback so we get notified when the // underlying surface is created and destroyed. mHolder = getHolder(); mHolder.addCallback(this); //mHolder.setType(SurfaceHolder.SURFACE_TYPE_PUSH_BUFFERS); mHolder.setType(SurfaceHolder.SURFACE_TYPE_NORMAL);//changed } public void surfaceCreated(SurfaceHolder holder) { // The Surface has been created, acquire the camera and tell it where // to draw. //mCamera = Camera.open(); this.StartCameraPreview(holder); } public void surfaceDestroyed(SurfaceHolder holder) { // Surface will be destroyed when we return, so stop the preview. // Because the CameraDevice object is not a shared resource, it's very // important to release it when the activity is paused. //mCamera.stopPreview();//changed mCamera = null; } public void surfaceChanged(SurfaceHolder holder, int format, int w, int h) { // Now that the size is known, set up the camera parameters and begin // the preview. //Camera.Parameters parameters = mCamera.getParameters(); //parameters.setPreviewSize(w, h); //mCamera.setParameters(parameters); //mCamera.startPreview(); this.StartCameraPreview(holder); } private void StartCameraPreview(SurfaceHolder sh) { mCamera = new HttpCamera("10.213.74.247:443", 640, 480, true);//changed try { //mCamera.setPreviewDisplay(holder); Canvas c = sh.lockCanvas(null); mCamera.capture(c); sh.unlockCanvasAndPost(c); } catch (Exception exception) { //mCamera.release(); mCamera = null; // TODO: add more exception handling logic here } } }

  • RackSpace Cloud Strips $_SESSION if URL Has Certain File Extensions

    - by macinjosh
    The Situation I am creating a video training site for a client on the RackSpace Cloud using the traditional LAMP stack (RackSpace's cloud has both Windows and LAMP stacks). The videos and other media files I'm serving on this site need to be protected as my client charges money for access to them. There is no DRM or funny business like that, essentially we store the files outside of the web root and use PHP to authenticate user's before they are able to access the files by using mod_rewrite to run the request through PHP. So let's say the user requests a file at this URL: http://www.example.com/uploads/preview_image/29.jpg I am using mod_rewrite to rewrite that url to: http://www.example.com/files.php?path=%2Fuploads%2Fpreview_image%2F29.jpg Here is a simplified version of the files.php script: <?php // Setups the environment and sets $logged_in // This part requires $_SESSION require_once('../../includes/user_config.php'); if (!$logged_in) { // Redirect non-authenticated users header('Location: login.php'); } // This user is authenticated, continue $content_type = "image/jpeg"; // getAbsolutePathForRequestedResource() takes // a Query Parameter called path and uses DB // lookups and some string manipulation to get // an absolute path. This part doesn't have // any bearing on the problem at hand $file_path = getAbsolutePathForRequestedResource($_GET['path']); // At this point $file_path looks something like // this: "/path/to/a/place/outside/the/webroot" if (file_exists($file_path) && !is_dir($file_path)) { header("Content-Type: $content_type"); header('Content-Length: ' . filesize($file_path)); echo file_get_contents($file_path); } else { header('HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found'); header('Status: 404 Not Found'); echo '404 Not Found'; } exit(); ?> The Problem Let me start by saying this works perfectly for me. On local test machines it works like a charm. However once deployed to the cloud it stops working. After some debugging it turns out that if a request to the cloud has certain file extensions like .JPG, .PNG, or .SWF (i.e. extensions of typically static media files.) the request is routed to a cache system called Varnish. The end result of this routing is that by the time this whole process makes it to my PHP script the session is not present. If I change the extension in the URL to .PHP or if I even add a query parameter Varnish is bypassed and the PHP script can get the session. No problem right? I'll just add a meaningless query parameter to my requests! Here is the rub: The media files I am serving through this system are being requested through compiled SWF files that I have zero control over. They are generated by third-party software and I have no hope of adding or changing the URLs that they request. Are there any other options I have on this? Update: I should note that I have verified this behavior with RackSpace support and they have said there is nothing they can do about it.

  • Jquery Close/Open Multiple Toggles

    - by Pedro
    Hi, I have the toggle in my menu Working successfully for the two links that I have within it. Because the top link once toggled covers the other link, there is no problem. But since the link beneath it leaves the top link exposed, a user could click that and now have two toggled items open and pretty much stacked on top of each other. Is there a way for me to check if the other toggled item is open and if so, close it? Thanks! <div class="parents-toggle"> <a href="#" id="customize-toggle">Customize</a><br/> <div class="menu-toggle hidden" id="customize-menu"> <div class="menu-toggle-one"> <h3>Background</h3> <ul> <li><a href="#">Dark Wood</a></li> <li><a href="#">Wallpaper</a></li> <li><a href="#">Bricks</a></li> <li><a href="#">Planks</a></li> <li><a href="#">Default</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="menu-toggle-two"> <h3>Layout</h3> <ul> <li><a href="#">Grid</a></li> <li><a href="#">List</a></li> <li><a href="#">Full</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> <a href="/submit/">Submit video</a><br/> <div class="parents-toggle"> <a href="#" id="channels-toggle">Channels</a> <div class="menu-toggle hidden" id="channels-menu"> <div class="menu-toggle-one"> <ul> <li><a href="#">Automotive</a></li> <li><a href="#">Comedy</a></li> <li><a href="#">Movies</a></li> <li><a href="#">Weather</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="menu-toggle-two"> <ul> <li><a href="#">Business</a></li> <li><a href="#">Commercials</a></li> <li><a href="#">Music</a></li> <li><a href="#">Technology</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> </div> <script> $("#customize-toggle").click(function () { $("#customize-menu").toggle(); }); $("#channels-toggle").click(function () { $("#channels-menu").toggle(); }); </script>

  • SurfaceView drawn on top of other elements after coming back from specific activity

    - by spirytus
    I have an activity with video preview displayed via SurfaceView and other views positioned over it. The problem is when user navigates to Settings activity (code below) and comes back then the surfaceview is drawn on top of everything else. This does not happen when user goes to another activity I have, neither when user navigates outside of app eg. to task manager. Now, you see in code below that I have setContentVIew() call wrapped in conditionals so it is not called every time when onStart() is executed. If its not wrapped in if statements then all works fine, but its causing loosing lots of memory (5MB+) each time onStart() is called. I tried various combinations and nothing seems to work so any help would be much appreciated. @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); //Toast.makeText(this,"Create ", 2000).show(); // set 32 bit window (draw correctly transparent images) getWindow().getAttributes().format = android.graphics.PixelFormat.RGBA_8888; // set the layout of the screen based on preferences of the user sharedPref = PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(this); } public void onStart() { super.onStart(); String syncConnPref = null; syncConnPref = sharedPref.getString("screensLayouts", "default"); if(syncConnPref.contentEquals("default") && currentlLayout!="default") { setContentView(R.layout.fight_recorder_default); } else if(syncConnPref.contentEquals("simple") && currentlLayout!="simple") { setContentView(R.layout.fight_recorder_simple); } // I I uncomment line below so it will be called every time without conditionals above, it works fine but every time onStart() is called I'm losing 5+ MB memory (memory leak?). The preview however shows under the other elements exactly as I need memory leak makes it unusable after few times though // setContentView(R.layout.fight_recorder_default); if(getCamera()==null) { Toast.makeText(this,"Sorry, camera is not available and fight recording will not be permanently stored",2000).show(); // TODO also in here put some code replacing the background with something nice return; } // now we have camera ready and we need surface to display picture from camera on so // we instantiate CameraPreviw object which is simply surfaceView containing holder object. // holder object is the surface where the image will be drawn onto // this is where camera live cameraPreview will be displayed cameraPreviewLayout = (FrameLayout) findViewById(id.camera_preview); cameraPreview = new CameraPreview(this); // now we add surface view to layout cameraPreviewLayout.removeAllViews(); cameraPreviewLayout.addView(cameraPreview); // get layouts prepared for different elements (views) // this is whole recording screen, as big as screen available recordingScreenLayout=(FrameLayout) findViewById(R.id.recording_screen); // this is used to display sores as they are added, it displays like a path // each score added is a new text view simply and as user undos these are removed one by one allScoresLayout=(LinearLayout) findViewById(R.id.all_scores); // layout prepared for controls like record/stop buttons etc startStopLayout=(RelativeLayout) findViewById(R.id.start_stop_layout); // set up timer so it can be turned on when needed //fightTimer=new FightTimer(this); fightTimer = (FightTimer) findViewById(id.fight_timer); // get views for displaying scores score1=(TextView) findViewById(id.score1); score2=(TextView) findViewById(id.score2); advantages1=(TextView) findViewById(id.advantages1); advantages2=(TextView) findViewById(id.advantages2); penalties1=(TextView) findViewById(id.penalties1); penalties2=(TextView) findViewById(id.penalties2); RelativeLayout welcomeScreen=(RelativeLayout) findViewById(id.welcome_screen); Animation fadeIn = AnimationUtils.loadAnimation(this, R.anim.fade_in); welcomeScreen.startAnimation(fadeIn); Toast.makeText(this,"Start ", 2000).show(); animateViews(); } Settings activity is below, after coming back from this activity surfaceview is drawn on top of other elements. public class SettingsActivity extends PreferenceActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); if(MyFirstAppActivity.getCamera()==null) { Toast.makeText(this,"Sorry, camera is not available",2000).show(); return; } addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.preferences); } }

  • Flash As3 Loader Problem

    - by Hadar
    Hi iam trying to load a few external jpegs in As3. It works fine locally in Flash, but it dosen't work at all ion my server. My app also loads a youtube video simultaneously. function drawResult(index,videoID,song_title,thumbnail:String=null) { var theClip:resultRowClip=new resultRowClip (); _clip.addChild(theClip); myArray[index] = new Array(videoID,theClip); theClip.y=0+(43*(index-1)); theClip.rowText.text = song_title; theClip.rowBack.visible = false; if (thumbnail != ""){ theClip.tHolder.visible=true; loadImage(thumbnail,index); } } function loadImage(url:String,index):void { //this.myClip.myText.text += "load image"; // Set properties on my Loader object var imageLoader:Loader = new Loader(); imageLoader.load(new URLRequest(url)); imageLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, function (evt:Event){imageLoaded(evt,index)}); } function imageLoaded(evt,id):void { //this.myClip.myText.text += "id : evt : " + evt.status; // Load Image var image:Bitmap = new Bitmap(evt.target.content.bitmapData); myArray[id][1].tHolder.addChild(image); myArray[id][1].tHolder.width=myArray[id][1].tHolder.width*0.35; myArray[id][1].tHolder.height=myArray[id][1].tHolder.height*0.35; } Does anyone knows what the problem is ? ** I added two Evenet listeners from io Error : imageLoader.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR,ioErrorHandler); imageLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR,ioErrorHandler); This is the function for handling the errors : private function ioErrorHandler(event:IOErrorEvent):void { this.myClip.myText.text +=("ioErrorHandler: " + event); } anyway, I got no errors... I also tried to move the listeners before imageLoader.load but it's still the same...no errors and no data loaded.. I change my code to patrikS suggestion : function loadImage(url:String,index):void { //this.myClip.myText.text += "load image"; // Set properties on my Loader object //if (index != 1) return; var imageLoader:Loader = new Loader(); imageLoader.name = index.toString(); //myArray[index][1].addChild(imageLoader); //imageLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, function (evt:Event){imageLoaded(evt,index)}); imageLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,completeHandler); imageLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR,ioErrorHandler); imageLoader.load(new URLRequest(url)); } My current completeHandler function(tnx patrikS ) : private function completeHandler(evt:Event):void{ //this.myClip.myText.text += "id : evt : " + evt.status; // Load Image trace("evt target loader name : "+ evt.target.loader.name ); evt.target.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, completeHandler ); var image:Bitmap = new Bitmap(evt.target.content.bitmapData); myArray[evt.target.loader.name][1].tHolder.addChild(image); myArray[evt.target.loader.name][1].tHolder.width=myArray[evt.target.loader.name][1].tHolder.width*0.35; myArray[evt.target.loader.name][1].tHolder.height=myArray[evt.target.loader.name][1].tHolder.height*0.35; //trace (hadar.y + "Y / X" + hadar.x); } It still work only on flash IDE and dosent work on any browser...

  • Build a Drill Down TableView with arrays

    - by skiria
    I'm trying to build a Drill down tableview to show the information that I have in a hierachy of arrays and classes. I have 3 classes: class Video { nameVideo, id, description, user... } class Topic {nameTopic, topicID, NSMutableArray videos; } class Category {nameCategory, categoryID, NSMUtableArray topics} And then in my app delegate I defined //AppDelegate.h NSMutableArray categories; The app display the tableView with nameCategory, but then, when I select a row it shows a tableview with 0 rows. If I check, for the second view the NumberOfRowsInSection, it returns me 0. I supose that the error is that I don't build correctly the provisional array called tableDataSource, I don't know the reason why it doesn't copy the new information on this array. ` - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; appDelegate = (TSCAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; //self.title = @"Categoria"; if(CurrentLevel == 0) { //Initialize our table data source NSArray *tempArray = [[NSArray alloc] init]; self.tableDataSource = tempArray; [tempArray release]; self.tableDataSource = appDelegate.categories; self.navigationItem.title = @"Categoria"; CurrentTitle = @"Categoria"; } else { self.navigationItem.title = CurrentTitle; } } - (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { return 1; } // Customize the number of rows in the table view. - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { NSLog (@"contador_ %i,", [self.tableDataSource count]); //--> On the second view it is 0! return [self.tableDataSource count]; } // Customize the appearance of table view cells. - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier]autorelease]; } // Configure the cell. if (CurrentLevel == 0) { Category *aCategory = [self.tableDataSource objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.text = aCategory.nameCategory; } if (CurrentLevel == 1) { Topic *aTopic = [self.tableDataSource objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.text = aTopic.nameTopic; } else if ([CurrentLevel == 0]){ Topic *aTopic = [self.tableDataSource objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; cell.text = aTopic.nameTopic; //NSLog(@"inside!!"); } cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryDisclosureIndicator; return cell; } - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { //Get the actual Category Category *aCategory = [self.tableDataSource objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; //NSLog (@" CATEGORY: %@", aCategory.nameCategory); //NSLog (@" CATEGORY: %i", aCategory.categoryID); //NSLog (@" TOPICS OF CATEGORY: %i", [aCategory.topics count]); //Prepare to tableview. navegaTableViewController *nvController = [[navegaTableViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"navegaTableView" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; //Increment the Current View nvController.CurrentLevel += 1; //Set the title; nvController.CurrentTitle = @"Topic"; nvController.tableDataSource = aCategory.topics; //Push the new table view on the stack [self.navigationController pushViewController:nvController animated:YES]; [nvController release]; } `

  • September 2011 Release of the Ajax Control Toolkit

    - by Stephen Walther
    I’m happy to announce the release of the September 2011 Ajax Control Toolkit. This release has several important new features including: Date ranges – When using the Calendar extender, you can specify a start and end date and a user can pick only those dates which fall within the specified range. This was the fourth top-voted feature request for the Ajax Control Toolkit at CodePlex. Twitter Control – You can use the new Twitter control to display recent tweets associated with a particular Twitter user or tweets which match a search query. Gravatar Control – You can use the new Gravatar control to display a unique image for each user of your website. Users can upload custom images to the Gravatar.com website or the Gravatar control can display a unique, auto-generated, image for a user. You can download this release this very minute by visiting CodePlex: http://AjaxControlToolkit.CodePlex.com Alternatively, you can execute the following command from the Visual Studio NuGet console: Improvements to the Ajax Control Toolkit Calendar Control The Ajax Control Toolkit Calendar extender control is one of the most heavily used controls from the Ajax Control Toolkit. The developers on the Superexpert team spent the last sprint focusing on improving this control. There are three important changes that we made to the Calendar control: we added support for date ranges, we added support for highlighting today’s date, and we made fixes to several bugs related to time zones and daylight savings. Using Calendar Date Ranges One of the top-voted feature requests for the Ajax Control Toolkit was a request to add support for date ranges to the Calendar control (this was the fourth most voted feature request at CodePlex). With the latest release of the Ajax Control Toolkit, the Calendar extender now supports date ranges. For example, the following page illustrates how you can create a popup calendar which allows a user only to pick dates between March 2, 2009 and May 16, 2009. <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="CalendarDateRange.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebApplication1.CalendarDateRange" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="asp" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" %> <html> <head runat="server"> <title>Calendar Date Range</title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID="tsm" runat="server" /> <asp:TextBox ID="txtHotelReservationDate" runat="server" /> <asp:CalendarExtender ID="Calendar1" TargetControlID="txtHotelReservationDate" StartDate="3/2/2009" EndDate="5/16/2009" SelectedDate="3/2/2009" runat="server" /> </form> </body> </html> This page contains three controls: an Ajax Control Toolkit ToolkitScriptManager control, a standard ASP.NET TextBox control, and an Ajax Control Toolkit CalendarExtender control. Notice that the Calendar control includes StartDate and EndDate properties which restrict the range of valid dates. The Calendar control shows days, months, and years outside of the valid range as struck out. You cannot select days, months, or years which fall outside of the range. The following video illustrates interacting with the new date range feature: If you want to experiment with a live version of the Ajax Control Toolkit Calendar extender control then you can visit the Calendar Sample Page at the Ajax Control Toolkit Sample Site. Highlighted Today’s Date Another highly requested feature for the Calendar control was support for highlighting today’s date. The Calendar control now highlights the user’s current date regardless of the user’s time zone. Fixes to Time Zone and Daylight Savings Time Bugs We fixed several significant Calendar extender bugs related to time zones and daylight savings time. For example, previously, when you set the Calendar control’s SelectedDate property to the value 1/1/2007 then the selected data would appear as 12/31/2006 or 1/1/2007 or 1/2/2007 depending on the server time zone. For example, if your server time zone was set to Samoa (UTC-11:00), then setting SelectedDate=”1/1/2007” would result in “12/31/2006” being selected in the Calendar. Users of the Calendar extender control found this behavior confusing. After careful consideration, we decided to change the Calendar extender so that it interprets all dates as UTC dates. In other words, if you set StartDate=”1/1/2007” then the Calendar extender parses the date as 1/1/2007 UTC instead of parsing the date according to the server time zone. By interpreting all dates as UTC dates, we avoid all of the reported issues with the SelectedDate property showing the wrong date. Furthermore, when you set the StartDate and EndDate properties, you know that the same StartDate and EndDate will be selected regardless of the time zone associated with the server or associated with the browser. The date 1/1/2007 will always be the date 1/1/2007. The New Twitter Control This release of the Ajax Control Toolkit introduces a new twitter control. You can use the Twitter control to display recent tweets associated with a particular twitter user. You also can use this control to show the results of a twitter search. The following page illustrates how you can use the Twitter control to display recent tweets made by Scott Hanselman: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="TwitterProfile.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebApplication1.TwitterProfile" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="asp" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" %> <html > <head runat="server"> <title>Twitter Profile</title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID="tsm" runat="server" /> <asp:Twitter ID="Twitter1" ScreenName="shanselman" runat="server" /> </form> </body> </html> This page includes two Ajax Control Toolkit controls: the ToolkitScriptManager control and the Twitter control. The Twitter control is set to display tweets from Scott Hanselman (shanselman): You also can use the Twitter control to display the results of a search query. For example, the following page displays all recent tweets related to the Ajax Control Toolkit: Twitter limits the number of times that you can interact with their API in an hour. Twitter recommends that you cache results on the server (https://dev.twitter.com/docs/rate-limiting). By default, the Twitter control caches results on the server for a duration of 5 minutes. You can modify the cache duration by assigning a value (in seconds) to the Twitter control's CacheDuration property. The Twitter control wraps a standard ASP.NET ListView control. You can customize the appearance of the Twitter control by modifying its LayoutTemplate, StatusTemplate, AlternatingStatusTemplate, and EmptyDataTemplate. To learn more about the new Twitter control, visit the live Twitter Sample Page. The New Gravatar Control The September 2011 release of the Ajax Control Toolkit also includes a new Gravatar control. This control makes it easy to display a unique image for each user of your website. A Gravatar is associated with an email address. You can visit Gravatar.com and upload an image and associate the image with your email address. That way, every website which uses Gravatars (such as the www.ASP.NET website) will display your image next to your name. For example, I visited the Gravatar.com website and associated an image of a Koala Bear with the email address [email protected]. The following page illustrates how you can use the Gravatar control to display the Gravatar image associated with the [email protected] email address: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="GravatarDemo.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebApplication1.GravatarDemo" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="asp" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" %> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head id="Head1" runat="server"> <title>Gravatar Demo</title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID="tsm" runat="server" /> <asp:Gravatar ID="Gravatar1" Email="[email protected]" runat="server" /> </form> </body> </html> The page above simply displays the Gravatar image associated with the [email protected] email address: If a user has not uploaded an image to Gravatar.com then you can auto-generate a unique image for the user from the user email address. The Gravatar control supports four types of auto-generated images: Identicon -- A different geometric pattern is generated for each unrecognized email. MonsterId -- A different image of a monster is generated for each unrecognized email. Wavatar -- A different image of a face is generated for each unrecognized email. Retro -- A different 8-bit arcade-style face is generated for each unrecognized email. For example, there is no Gravatar image associated with the email address [email protected]. The following page displays an auto-generated MonsterId for this email address: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="GravatarMonster.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebApplication1.GravatarMonster" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="asp" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" %> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head id="Head1" runat="server"> <title>Gravatar Monster</title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID="tsm" runat="server" /> <asp:Gravatar ID="Gravatar1" Email="[email protected]" DefaultImageBehavior="MonsterId" runat="server" /> </form> </body> </html> The page above generates the following image automatically from the supplied email address: To learn more about the properties of the new Gravatar control, visit the live Gravatar Sample Page. ASP.NET Connections Talk on the Ajax Control Toolkit If you are interested in learning more about the changes that we are making to the Ajax Control Toolkit then please come to my talk on the Ajax Control Toolkit at the upcoming ASP.NET Connections conference. In the talk, I will present a summary of the changes that we have made to the Ajax Control Toolkit over the last several months and discuss our future plans. Do you have ideas for new Ajax Control Toolkit controls? Ideas for improving the toolkit? Come to my talk – I would love to hear from you. You can register for the ASP.NET Connections conference by visiting the following website: Register for ASP.NET Connections   Summary The previous release of the Ajax Control Toolkit – the July 2011 Release – has had over 100,000 downloads. • Processing Email in Outlook

    - by Daniel Moth
    A. Why Goal 1 = Help others: Have at most a 24-hour response turnaround to internal (from colleague) emails, typically achieving same day response. Goal 2 = Help projects: Not to implicitly pass/miss an opportunity to have impact on electronic discussions around any project on the radar. Not achieving goals 1 & 2 = Colleagues stop relying on you, drop you off conversations, don't see you as a contributing resource or someone that cares, you are perceived as someone with no peripheral vision. Note this is perfect if all you are doing is cruising at your job, trying to fly under the radar, with no ambitions of having impact beyond your absolute minimum 'day job'. B. DON'T: Leave unread email lurking around Don't: Receive or process all incoming emails in a single folder ('inbox' or 'unread mail'). This is actually possible if you receive a small number of emails (e.g. new to the job, not working at a company like Microsoft). Even so, with (your future) success at any level (company, community) comes large incoming email, so learn to deal with it. With large volumes, it is best to let the system help you by doing some categorization and filtering on your behalf (instead of trying to do that in your head as you process the single folder). See later section on how to achieve this. Don't: Leave emails as 'unread' (or worse: read them, then mark them as unread). Often done by individuals who think they possess super powers ("I can mentally cache and distinguish between the emails I chose not to read, the ones that are actually new, and the ones I decided to revisit in the future; the fact that they all show up the same (bold = unread) does not confuse me"). Interactions with this super-powered individuals typically end up with them saying stuff like "I must have missed that email you are talking about (from 2 weeks ago)" or "I am a bit behind, so I haven't read your email, can you remind me". TIP: The only place where you are "allowed" unread email is in your Deleted Items folder. Don't: Interpret a read email as an email that has been processed. Doing that, means you will always end up with fake unread email (that you have actually read, but haven't dealt with completely so you then marked it as unread) lurking between actual unread email. Another side effect is reading the email and making a 'mental' note to action it, then leaving the email as read, so the only thing left to remind you to carry out the action is… you. You are not super human, you will forget. This is a key distinction. Reading (or even scanning) a new email, means you now know what needs to be done with it, in order for it to be truly considered processed. Truly processing an email is to, for example, write an email of your own (e.g. to reply or forward), or take a non-email related action (e.g. create calendar entry, do something on some website), or read it carefully to gain some knowledge (e.g. it had a spec as an attachment), or keep it around as reference etc. 'Reading' means that you know what to do, not that you have done it. An email that is read is an email that is triaged, not an email that is resolved. Sometimes the thing that needs to be done based on receiving the email, you can (and want) to do immediately after reading the email. That is fine, you read the email and you processed it (typically when it takes no longer than X minutes, where X is your personal tolerance – mine is roughly 2 minutes). Other times, you decide that you don't want to spend X minutes at that moment, so after reading the email you need a quick system for "marking" the email as to be processed later (and you still leave it as 'read' in outlook). See later section for how. C. DO: Use Outlook rules and have multiple folders where incoming email is automatically moved to Outlook email rules are very powerful and easy to configure. Use them to automatically file email into folders. Here are mine (note that if a rule catches an email message then no further rules get processed): "personal" Email is either personal or business related. Almost all personal email goes to my gmail account. The personal emails that end up on my work email account, go to a dedicated folder – that is achieved via a rule that looks at the email's 'From' field. For those that slip through, I use the new Outlook 2010  quick step of "Conversation To Folder" feature to let the slippage only occur once per conversation, and then update my rules. "External" and "ViaBlog" The remaining external emails either come from my blog (rule on the subject line) or are unsolicited (rule on the domain name not being microsoft) and they are filed accordingly. "invites" I may do a separate blog post on calendar management, but suffice to say it should be kept up to date. All invite requests end up in this folder, so that even if mail gets out of control, the calendar can stay under control (only 1 folder to check). I.e. so I can let the organizer know why I won't be attending their meeting (or that I will be). Note: This folder is the only one that shows the total number of items in it, instead of the total unread. "Inbox" The only email that ends up here is email sent TO me and me only. Note that this is also the only email that shows up above the systray icon in the notification toast – all other emails cannot interrupt. "ToMe++" Email where I am on the TO line, but there are other recipients as well (on the TO or CC line). "CC" Email where I am on the CC line. I need to read these, but nobody is expecting a response or action from me so they are not as urgent (and if they are and follow up with me, they'll receive a link to this). "@ XYZ" Emails to aliases that are about projects that I directly work on (and I wasn't on the TO or CC line, of course). Test: these projects are in my commitments that I get measured on at the end of the year. "Z Mass" and subfolders under it per distribution list (DL) Emails to aliases that are about topics that I am interested in, but not that I formally own/contribute to. Test: if I unsubscribed from these aliases, nobody could rightfully complain. "Admin" folder, which resides under "Z Mass" folder Emails to aliases that I was added typically by an admin, e.g. broad emails to the floor/group/org/building/division/company that I am a member of. "BCC" folder, which resides under "Z Mass" Emails where I was not on the TO or the CC line explicitly and the alias it was sent to is not one I explicitly subscribed to (or I have been added to the BCC line, which I briefly touched on in another post). When there are only a few quick minutes to catch up on email, read as much as possible from these folders, in this order: Invites, Inbox, ToMe++. Only when these folders are all read (remember that doesn't mean that each email in them has been fully dealt with), we can move on to the @XYZ and then the CC folders. Only when those are read we can go on to the remaining folders. Note that the typical flow in the "Z Mass" subfolders is to scan subject lines and use the new Ctrl+Delete Outlook 2010 feature to ignore conversations. D. DO: Use Outlook Search folders in combination with categories As you process each folder, when you open a new email (i.e. click on it and read it in the preview pane) the email becomes read and stays read and you have to decide whether: It can take 2 minutes to deal with for good, right now, or It will take longer than 2 minutes, so it needs to be postponed with a clear next step, which is one of ToReply – there may be intermediate action steps, but ultimately someone else needs to receive email about this Action – no email is required, but I need to do something ReadLater – no email is required from the quick scan, but this is too long to fully read now, so it needs to be read it later WaitingFor – the email is informing of an intermediate status and 'promising' a future email update. Need to track. SomedayMaybe – interesting but not important, non-urgent, non-time-bound information. I may want to spend part of one of my weekends reading it. For all these 'next steps' use Outlook categories (right click on the email and assign category, or use shortcut key). Note that I also use category 'WaitingFor' for email that I send where I am expecting a response and need to track it. Create a new search folder for each category (I dragged the search folders into my favorites at the top left of Outlook, above my inboxes). So after the activity of reading/triaging email in the normal folders (where the email arrived) is done, the result is a bunch of emails appearing in the search folders (configure them to show the total items, not the total unread items). To actually process email (that takes more than 2 minutes to deal with) process the search folders, starting with ToReply and Action. E. DO: Get into a Routine Now you have a system in place, get into a routine of using it. Here is how I personally use mine, but this part I keep tweaking: Spend short bursts of time (between meetings, during boring but mandatory meetings and, in general, 2-4 times a day) aiming to have no unread emails (and in the process deal with some emails that take less than 2 minutes). Spend around 30 minutes at the end of each day processing most urgent items in search folders. Spend as long as it takes each Friday (or even the weekend) ensuring there is no unnecessary email baggage carried forward to the following week. F. A very similar approach was described previously by ScottHa (also influenced by GTD), worth reading here.
