  • Android ADB has moved and Eclipse is looking in the old place

    - by Peter Nelson
I did an SDK update last night and it moved adb.exe. In its place it left a file called "adb_has_moved.txt" saying The adb tool has moved to platform-tools/ If you don't see this directory in your SDK, launch the SDK and AVD Manager (execute the android tool) and install "Android SDK Platform-tools" Please also update your PATH environment variable to include the platform-tools/ directory, so you can execute adb from any location. So I did all that, including the PATH and now I can start adb.exe from any DOS prompt. But I still can't start it from Eclipse (Galileo 3.52). When I try it says Location of the Android SDK has not been set up in the preferences ... which is not true. The SDK IS set up in Preferences. The real problem is at the top of the Preferences window where it says "Could not find C:\SDK\android-sdk-windows\ tools \adb.exe!" ...No kidding - the update moved it to C:\SDK\android-sdk-windows\ platform-tools. Because it's specifying a specific (wrong) path Eclipse is bypassing the PATH variable. So how do I get Eclipse to look in the right place?

  • how to reapply knockout binding

    - by MikeW
Currently I have a knockout binding that stripes rows in a list which works fine ko.bindingHandlers.stripe = { update: function (element, valueAccessor, allBindingsAccessor) { var value = ko.utils.unwrapObservable(valueAccessor()); //creates the dependency var allBindings = allBindingsAccessor(); var even = allBindings.evenClass; var odd = allBindings.oddClass; //update odd rows $(element).children(":nth-child(odd)").addClass(odd).removeClass(even); //update even rows $(element).children(":nth-child(even)").addClass(even).removeClass(odd); ; } } Triggered from <button data-bind="click: addWidget" style="display:none">Add Item</button> The problem I have is when reloading data from the server , I call addWidget() manually in the view model the stripe binding handler is not applied - all rows appear as same color, if I click the html button then the binding happens and stripes appear var ViewModel = function() { self.addWidget(); }); Is it possible to reapply this custom binding manually in js? Thanks Edit: The stripe binding gets applied like so <div data-bind="foreach: widgets, stripe: widgets, evenClass: 'light', oddClass: 'dark'">

  • The instruction at "0x7c910a19" referenced memory at "oxffffffff". The memory could not be "read"

    - by ClareBear
Hello guys/girls The instruction at "0x7c910a19" referenced memory at "oxffffffff". The memory could not be "read" I have a small issue, I receive the error above before the .vbs terminates. I don't know why this error is thrown. Below is the process of the .vbs file: Call ImportTransactions() Call UpdateTransactions() Function ImportTransactions() Dim objConnection, objCommand, objRecordset, strOracle Dim strSQL, objRecordsetInsert Set objConnection = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") objConnection.Open "DSN=*****;UID=*****;PWD==*****;" Set objCommand = CreateObject("ADODB.Command") Set objRecordset = CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") strOracle = "SELECT query here from Oracle database" objCommand.CommandText = strOracle objCommand.CommandType = 1 objCommand.CommandTimeout = 0 Set objCommand.ActiveConnection = objConnection objRecordset.cursorType = 0 objRecordset.cursorlocation = 3 objRecordset.Open objCommand, , 1, 3 If objRecordset.EOF = False Then Do Until objRecordset.EOF = True strSQL = "INSERT query here into SQL database" strSQL = Query(strSQL) Call RunSQL(strSQL, objRecordsetInsert, False, conTimeOut, conServer, conDatabase, conUsername, conPassword) objRecordset.MoveNext Loop End If objRecordset.Close() Set objRecordset = Nothing Set objRecordsetInsert = Nothing End Function Function UpdateTransactions() Dim strSQLUpdateVAT, strSQLUpdateCodes Dim objRecordsetVAT, objRecordsetUpdateCodes strSQLUpdateVAT = "UPDATE query here SET [value:costing output] = ([value:costing output] * -1)" Call RunSQL(strSQLUpdateVAT, objRecordsetVAT, False, conTimeOut, conServer, conDatabase, conUsername, conPassword) strSQLUpdateCodes = "UPDATE query here SET [value:costing output] = ([value:costing output] * -1) different WHERE clause" Call RunSQL(strSQLUpdateCodes, objRecordsetUpdateCodes, False, conTimeOut, conServer, conDatabase, conUsername, conPassword) Set objRecordsetVAT = Nothing Set objRecordsetUpdateCodes = Nothing End Function UDPATE: If I exit the function after I open the connection (see below) it still causes the same error. Function ImportTransactions() Dim objConnection, objCommand, objRecordset, strOracle Dim strSQL, objRecordsetInsert Set objConnection = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") objConnection.Open "DSN=*****;UID=*****;PWD==*****;" Set objCommand = CreateObject("ADODB.Command") Set objRecordset = CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") Exit Function End Function It does both the import and update and seems to throw this error after. Thanks in advance for any help, Clare

  • MySQL Normalization stored procedure performance

    - by srkiNZ84
Hi, I've written a stored procedure in MySQL to take values currently in a table and to "Normalize" them. This means that for each value passed to the stored procedure, it checks whether the value is already in the table. If it is, then it stores the id of that row in a variable. If the value is not in the table, it stores the newly inserted value's id. The stored procedure then takes the id's and inserts them into a table which is equivalent to the original de-normailized table, but this table is fully normalized and consists of mainly foreign keys. My problem with this design is that the stored procedure takes approximately 10ms or so to return, which is too long when you're trying to work through some 10million records. My suspicion is that the performance is to do with the way in which I'm doing the inserts. i.e. INSERT INTO TableA (first_value) VALUES (argument_from_sp) ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE id=LAST_INSERT_ID(id); SET @TableAId = LAST_INSERT_ID(); The "ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE" is a bit of a hack, due to the fact that on a duplicate key I don't want to update anything but rather just return the id value of the row. If you miss this step though, the LAST_INSERT_ID() function returns the wrong value when you're trying to run the "SET ..." statement. Does anyone know of a better way to do this in MySQL? Thank you

  • rails 3.0.3 - ActiveRecord::Relation, undefined method error

    - by brg
    I am having this unexplained ActiveRecord::Relation, undefined method error . I don't know why, since my model association are well defined and the event table has the foreign keys for the user table. I tried using this fix but it failed: Rails 3 ActiveRecord::Relation random associations behavior event.rb class Event < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user attr_accessible :event_name, :Starts_at, :finish, :tracks end user.rb class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :events, :dependent = :destroy attr_accessible :name, :event_attributes accepts_nested_attributes_for :events, :allow_destroy = true end schema.rb ActiveRecord::Schema.define(:version = 20101201180355) do create_table "events", :force = true do |t| t.string "event_name" t.string "tracks" t.datetime "starts_at" t.datetime "finish" t.datetime "created_at" t.datetime "updated_at" t.integer "user_id" end end error message NoMethodError in Users#index undefined method `events' for # Extracted source (around line #10): 7: <%= sortable "Tracks" % 8: 10: <% @users.events.each do |event| % 11: <% debugger % 12: 13: <%= event.starts_at % Trace of template inclusion: app/views/users/index.html.erb Rails.root: C:/rails_project1/events_manager Application Trace | Framework Trace | Full Trace app/views/users/_event_user.html.erb:10:in _app_views_users__event_user_html_erb__412443848_34308540_1390678' app/views/users/index.html.erb:7:in_app_views_users_index_html_erb___603337143_34316016_0'

  • Visual Studio CLR project

    - by Vit
Hi, so I wanted to try my first CLR project in Visual C++. So I created console project, but since every tutorial I found about CLR programming was using C#, or windows forms, I just tried writing standart c++ Hello Word app using iostream (I think code isnt needed in this case) but I though it will give me some compile error, since iostream uses precompiled functions, and CLR app compiles into MSIL. I assumed that CLR programming using C++ means just using C++ syntax, but different functions for I/O and so. So, basicly, what I want to ask is, can any native console C++ app be compiled into MSIL and run by .NET framework?

  • Suggestions for a mashup application

    - by Raffo
I have to write a mashup application for an university course and I have to use some APIs, but I need to choose by myself what to use and what the final application should do. Unfortunately I never made an application like this, so I'm not sure what to do... I don't want to code a stupid app which uses google maps' APIs since the web seems to be full of stuff like this. Have you got any suggestion for me? Is there any mashup web app you want that's still not there?? I can use JAVA, GWT (and google app engine of course) or python, but I also accept suggestions for other languages. Thank you in advance!

  • Why aren't Admob click callback delegate methods getting called?

    - by executor21
I'm integrating the latest version of the admob sdk (version 20100412) into my app. The ads get displayed, but I need the app to make some changes when an ad is clicked and admob displays a full-screen browser. However, none of the callback methods (willPresentFullScreenModal, didPresentFullScreenModal, willDismissFullScreenModal, and didDismissFullScreenModal) are called, even though other delegate methods are. Why aren't these callbacks being made? They were in the previous versions of the SDK, and the sample app doesn't use them, so it's no help. EDIT: removed the double negative from the question title

  • Implementing Excel 2003 COM Add-in UDF in Asyc Programming model using C#(VS 2005)

    - by Venu
Hi: I am trying to implement a UDF using Excel COM Add-in(2003) with Visual Studio 2005 in C#. I would like to implement the UDF using async programming. The UDF is a slow operation as its results are fetched from a server. As an illustration(not a real world example),the following UDF works fine without any issue: public double mul(double number1, double number2) { return number1 * number2; } How can I do the same functionality in an async way: For example, I would like the UDF return immediately and later when the results are available from a server, I would like to update the desired cells. // This method returns immediately. public object mul(double number1, double number2) { return "calculating"; } // This method of a worker thread will update the results. public OnResultsAvailable(object result) { // Question: how should I update the cells that triggerred the calcualtions above? } Constraints: I cannot use Excel RTD as I have to work with existing codebase written using Excel C# COM Add-in. Thanks for the help. -Venu

  • ACL suggestions needed for a small light framework developed

    - by Sai
Hello all, I've developed a small framework that was needed for the firm that I work. The problem is I've not made a full level framework, as developers are finding tough time to understand what is what, So I made a simple structure with app/controllers, app/models, app/views so that they can clearly separate the code and can get used to higher frameworks later. All other things like components/modules/helpers are just coded for now in a file called app_functions.php. The above framework is derived from cakePHP, not all, but just the framework uses a modified code of dispatcher of cake. The models all work with normal sqls, and views with pure html using a template engine. Now I'm trying to develop a small application over it, it cameout well, but ACL is something which many versions of it have not proved that satisfactory. Can anybody suggest a good ACL. I've checked phpGACL(too heavy), Zend_ACL likely won't be compatible, Cakephp's ACL which wont fit in the structure,as we are not using cake's SQLs, as there too many queries hitting the database for one page display.

  • System.UnauthorizedAccessException from Serial Port in VB.NET

    - by psuhas
I am using VB.NET 2008 Express Edition to access Serial Port which is a USB to Serial port. Since this is removable, the app user can disconnect it at any time in app. I am getting an unhandled exception when I remove the USB Serial Port. After research, it seems like a known problem in .NET (even in 3.5) I am looking for some solution to get this done. I have already tried the app.config solution that was suggested and it does not work Here is the link for issue http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/Validation.aspx?FeedbackID=140018

  • Parsing a list of dictionaries passed as a POST parameter

    - by andyashton
I have a list of python dictionaries that look like this: sandwiches = [ {'bread':'wheat', 'topping':'tomatoes', 'meat':'bacon'}, {'bread':'white', 'topping':'peanut butter', 'meat':'bacon'}, {'bread':'sourdough', 'topping':'cheese', 'meat':'bacon'} ] I want to pass this as a POST parameter to another Django app. What does the client app need to do to iterate through the list? I want to do something like: for sandwich in request.POST['sandwiches']: print "%s on %s with %s is yummy!" % (sandwich['meat'], sandwich['bread'], sandwich['topping']) But I don't seem to have a list of dicts when my data arrives at my client app.

  • iphone: is there any secure way to establish 2-way SSL from an application

    - by pmilosev
Hi I need to establish a HTTPS 2-way SSL connection from my iPhone application to the customer's server. However I don't see any secure way to deliver the client side certificates to the application (it's an e-banking app, so security is really an issue). From what I have found so far the only way that the app would be able to access the certificate is to provide it pre-bundeled with the application itself, or expose an URL from which it could be fetched (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2037172/iphone-app-with-ssl-client-certs). The thing is that neither of this two ways prevent some third party to get the certificate, which if accepted as a risk eliminates the need for 2-way SSL (since anyone can have the client certificate). The whole security protocol should look like this: - HTTPS 2-way SSL to authenticate the application - OTP (token) based user registration (client side key pair generated at this step) - SOAP / WSS XML-Signature (requests signed by the keys generated earlier) Any idea on how to establish the first layer of security (HTTPS) ? regards

  • iTunes Connect: Excluding iPad From Supported Devices

    - by mattmccomb
I have just uploaded my first app to iTunes Connect and noticed that my list of supported devices is appearing as follows... Device Requirements : Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. I've developed specifically for the iPhone and iPod Touch and have not yet done any testing on the iPad simulator. I therefore don't want the app submission testers to try running my app on an iPad and rejecting it because of some minor issue. I've looked at setting the required device capabilities in my info.plist, but that doesn't appear to allow me to restrict at a device level. Is this a by-product of building using the 3.1.3 SDK? Are apps built using this SDK automatically upscaled to work on the iPad?

  • what causes the .NET SerialPort class DataReceived event to fire?

    - by Klay
I understand from the MSDN docs that the event DataReceived will not necessarily fire once per byte. But does anyone know what exactly is the mechanism that causes the event to fire? Does the receipt of each byte restart a timer that has to reach, say 10 ms between bytes, before the event fires? I ask because I'm trying to write an app that reads XML data coming in from a serial port. Because my laptop has no serial ports, I use a virtual serial port emulator. (I know, I know--I can't do anything about it ATM). When I pass data through the emulated port to my app, the event fires once for each XML record (about 1500 bytes). Perfect. But when a colleague at another office tries it with two computers connected by an actual cable, the DataReceived event fires repeatedly, after every 10 or so bytes of XML, which totally throws off the app.

  • Android: prevent user from coming back to login page after logging in

    - by user522559
Hi all, I have a login page in my android app. I want to prevent the user after logging in to come back to the login page. Also, when the user reopens the app, if he has logged in before, I want to go directly to the main page without having to go to the login page. What the best way of doing that? One idea I thought of is to save the login parameters in a cookie, and then, when the app is reopens, if the cookie contains some login information, I inflate the main page, otherwise, I inflate the login page. Is this the best way of doing it? Thanks,

  • Can I interrupt javascript code and then continue on a keystroke?

    - by Brian Ramsay
    I am porting an old game from C to Javascript. I have run into an issue with display code where I would like to have the main game code call display methods without having to worry about how those status messages are displayed. In the original code, if the message is too long, the program just waits for the player to toggle through the messages with the spacebar and then continues. This doesn't work in javascript, because while I wait for an event, all of the other program code continues. I had thought to use a callback so that further code can execute when the player hits the designated key, but I can't see how that will be viable with a lot of calls to display.update(msg) scattered throughout the code. Can I architect things differently so the event-based, asynchronous model works, or is there some other solution that would allow me to implement a more traditional event loop? Am I making sense? Example: // this is what the original code does, but obviously doesn't work in Javascript display = { update : function(msg) { // if msg is too long // wait for user input // ok, we've got input, continue } }; // this is more javascript-y... display = { update : function(msg, when_finished) { // show part of the message $(document).addEvent('keydown', function(e) { // display the rest of the message when_finished(); }); } }; // but makes for amazingly nasty game code do_something(param, function() { // in case do_something calls display I have to // provide a callback for everything afterwards // this happens next, but what if do_the_next_thing needs to call display? // I have to wait again do_the_next_thing(param, function() { // now I have to do this again, ad infinitum } }

  • Could not find default endpoint element

    - by edosoft
I've added a proxy to a webservice to a VS2008/.NET 3.5 solution. When constructing the client .NET throws this error: Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'IMySOAPWebService' in the service model client configuaration section. This might be because no configuaration file was found for your application or because no end point element matching this contract could be found in the client element Searching for this error tells me to use the full namespace in the contract. Here's my app.config with full namespace: <client> <endpoint address="http://192.168.100.87:7001/soap/IMySOAPWebService" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="IMySOAPWebServicebinding" contract="Fusion.DataExchange.Workflows.IMySOAPWebService" name="IMySOAPWebServicePort" /> </client> I'm running XP local (I mention this because a number of Google hits mention win2k3) The app.config is copied to app.exe.config, so that is also not the problem. Any clues?

  • Packaging an application that uses the ImageMagick C API

    - by John Gardeniers
I've created a little Windows app that uses the ImageMagick C API but have run into a bit of a brick wall. The app works fine and I'm ready to share it with a few others in our organisation but I can't find documentation on distributing such an app without installing ImageMagick on the target machine. Does anyone here have information, or a link to information, that details how to package this up for distribution? What DLLs are required and which one(s) need to registered with Windows? The target users will be on a mix of XP and Win7.

  • Ideas on simulating webservices for local automated testing.

    - by novice123
I am testing an app, which talks to different webservices over the internet. For my automated testing, I don't want to go over the network. To achieve this, I need to simulate the webservice on my machine using another app. My initial thought is to record all the requests and responses between client and webservice, and then just write a simulation app which replays these responses. The disadvantage here is that everytime the webservice protocol changes a bit, I have to modify all my recorded resposnes. so I am looking to see if there are more elegant solutions. have anyone solved a similar problem? any thoughts, suggestion are appreciated.

  • NSIS patching (multiple patches in one file)

    - by Owen
I'm able to generate patch files from one version to another using NSIS' Vpatch. Let's say I have mydll.dll version 1, and I have a patch to update it to version 2. Then I have a new version again, thus I generate another patch to update it to version 3. What bothers me though is, what if user cancels updating to version 2 and so forth. Then my latest version let's say is version 20. User decides to update to version 20. Is there a way to generate a patch that's like accumulative in nature? whereas user can jump from version any old version to the newest version (i.e ver 3 to ver 20) without passing through the versions in between? I've read this line in vpatch's documentation --- "if you want to be able to upgrade version 1 and 2 to version 3, you can put a 1 3 and 2 3 patch in one file." But how do I that? What if I alread have like 30 versions. Does that mean I have to create a patch whose arguments are old files(versions 1-29) and new file(version20)? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...

  • How to append a row to a TableViewSection in Titanium?

    - by Mike Trpcic
I'm developing an iPhone application in Titanium, and need to append a row to a particular TableViewSection. I can't do this on page load, as it's done dynamically by the user throughout the lifecycle of the application. The documentation says that the TableViewSection has an add method which takes two arguments, but I can't make it work. Here's my existing code: for(var i = 0; i <= product_count; i++){ productsTableViewSection.add( Ti.UI.createTableViewRow({ title:'Testing...' }) ); } That is just passing one argument in, and that causes Titanium to die with an uncaught exception: 2010-04-26 16:57:18.056 MyApplication[72765:207] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Invalid update: invalid number of rows in section 2. I've looked through the KitchenSink app, but there are no examples that I could find of adding a row to a TableViewSection. Any help is appreciated.

  • No GPS updates on Galaxy S3

    - by Valelik
I'm developing a GPS tracker and it works like a charm. But a couple of weeks ago a customer of me (a trackage company) bought Samsung Galaxy S3 for his drivers. And since that we have really strange behaviour of my app. The app receives location updates from GPS receiver, but after some hours of work it doesn't receive any location updates. I have registered the app for onGpsStatusChanged() too and in this time onGpsStatusChanged() was called (I see that GPS receiver have 10-17 satellites!), but the method onLocationChanged() was not called! After the service restart (=re-registering of LocationListener) it works again. It is really strange. It seems that after some hours of work the GPS reciever is not in the mood for calling onLocationChanged() :) Any idea what may be wrong?
