Any ideeas?

  Hi. Based on a php app we've tried to developp our own webapp in vbscript. All is working well. The camera starts, etc.. The problem we're left with is the following: the flash API is streaming the content of the video to a webpage, this page saves the photo as a jpg. • Problem with CommandFinder class...

  and I'm not sure why... Hello Everbody! I'm trying to make my first steps with SWTBot. I'm trying to test an Eclipse RCP Application. In one test i'm trying to call a command to save a dirty editor. But an assertion after the call, tells me that the editor is still dirty. An the data in the dirty editor is not showing up in the database. On the other hand, i'm not getting an Exception when calling the command... new CommandFinder().findCommand(CoreMatchers.equalTo(COMMANDNAME_SAVE)).get(0).click(); Has anyone any insperation for me, where i made a mistake?

• Embedding binary blobs using gcc mingw

  I am trying to embed binary blobs into an exe file. I am using mingw gcc. I make the object file like this: ld -r -b binary -o binary.o input.txt I then look objdump output to get the symbols: objdump -x binary.o And it gives symbols named: _binary_input_txt_start _binary_input_txt_end _binary_input_txt_size I then try and access them in my C program: #include <stdlib.h> #include <stdio.h> extern char _binary_input_txt_start[]; int main (int argc, char *argv[]) { char *p; p = _binary_input_txt_start; return 0; } Then I compile like this: gcc -o test.exe test.c binary.o But I always get: undefined reference to _binary_input_txt_start Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

• How do I mock memory allocation failures ?

  I want to extensively test some pieces of C code for memory leaks. On my machine I have 4 Gb of RAM, so it's very unlikely for a dynamic memory allocation to fail. Still I want to see the comportment of the code if memory allocation fails, and see if the recover mechanism is "strong" enough. What do you suggest ? How do I emulate an environment with lower memory specs ? How do i mock my tests ? EDIT: I want my tests to be code independent. I only have "access" to return values for different functions in the library I am testing. I am not supposed to write "test logic" inside the code I am testing.

• How are you using IronPython?

  I'm keen to drink some modern dynamic language koolaid, so I've believed all the stuff on Michael Foord's blog and podcasts, I've bought his book (and read some of it), and I added an embedded IPy runtime to a large existing app a year or so ago (though that was for someone else and I didn't really use it myself). Now I need to do some fairly simple code generation stuff, where I'm going to call a few methods on a few .net objects (custom, C#-authored objects), create a few strings, write some files, etc. The experience of trying this leaves me feeling like the little boy who thinks he's the only one who can see that The Emperor has no clothes on. If you're using IronPython, I'd really appreciate knowing how you deal with the following aspects of it: Code editing - do you use the .NET framework without Intellisense? Refactoring - I know a load of 'refactoring' is about working around language-related busywork, so if Python is sufficiently lightweight then we won't need that, But things like renames seem to me to be essential to iteratively developing quality code regardless of language. Crippling startup time - One of the things which is supposed to be good about interpreted languages is the lack of compile time leading to fast interactive development. Unfortunately I can compile a C# application and launch it quicker than IPy can start up. Interactive hacking - the IPy console/repl is supposed to be good for this, but I haven't found a good way to take the code you've interactively arrived at and persist it into a file - cut and paste from the console is fairly miserable. And the console seems to hold references to .NET assemblies you've imported, so you have to quit it and restart it if you're working on the C# stuff as well. Hacking on C# in something like LinqPad seems a much faster and easier way to try things out (and has proper Intellisense). Do you use the console? Debugging - what's the story here? I know someone on the IPy team is working on a command-line hobby-project, but let's just say I'm not immediately attracted to a command line debugger. I don't really need a debugger from little Python scripts, but I would if I were to use IPy for scripting unit tests, for example. Unit testing - I can see that dynamic languages could be great for this, but is there any IDE test-runner integration (like for Resharper, etc). The Foord book has a chapter about this, which I'll admit I have not yet read properly, but it does seem to involve driving a console-mode test-runner from the command prompt, which feels to be an enormous step back from using an integrated test runner like TestDriven.net or Resharper. I really want to believe in this stuff, so I am still working on the assumption that I've missed something. I would really like to know how other people are dealing with IPy, particularly if they're doing it in a way which doesn't feel like we've just lost 15 years'-worth of tool development.

I mean a system built on top of the graphics engine (as graphics engine I use Ogre3D, that provide an animation layer), and in strict contact with the logic of the game. It's for a sports title, so the question is not easy. TimesTen is a relational database providing very fast and high throughput through its memory-centric architecture.  TimesTen is designed for low latency, high-volume data, and event and transaction management. A TimesTen database resides entirely in memory, so no disk I/O is required for transactions and query operations. TimesTen is used in applications requiring very fast and predictable response time, such as real-time financial services trading applications and large web applications. TimesTen can be used as the database of record or as a relational cache database to Oracle Database.   Hi! I'm trying to implement a stateless session bean in ejb3 using glassfish server v2 and netbeans as the editor. I'm using jndi lookup for calling bean class. When I tried to deploy the war file where I'm calling the bean class through servlet, it is showing the following error: This web app [C:\Documents and Settings\Test-war\build\web] has no ejb reference by the name of [TestingBean] deployed with moduleid = Test-war I manually created glassfish deployment descriptor for ejb and edited sun-web xml file in war. The fuel tank capacity of such a car is 60 litres. Design and implement a JAVA program that prompts for the fuel consumption and fuel tank capacity of the aforementioned car. The program then displays the minimum number of times the car’s fuel tank has to be filled up to drive from Perth to Adelaide. Note that 62 miles is equal to 100 kilometres. • Why is the event object different coming from jquery bind vs. addEventListener

  Why is it when I use the jQuery bind the event object I get back is different from the event object I get back using addEventListener? The event object resulting from this jQuery bind does not have the targetTouches array (among other things) but the event from the addEventListener does. • jQuery Rollovers Not Preloading

  $('.ro').hover( function(){ t = $(this); t.attr('src',t.attr('src').replace(/([^.]*)\.(.*)/, "$1_o.$2")); }, function(){ t = $(this); t.attr('src',t.attr('src').replace('_o','')); } ); I use this code so that (for examle) test.gif with the class 'ro' would change to test_o.gif on rollover, the problem is when the images aren't in the cache there is lag on rollover and rolloff. Basically if I clear my cache and visit the test page, everytime I rollover and rolloff the image it is loading the file each time, so you could sit there for hours and it would still be loading the rollover images each time. However, when I refresh the page and the images are now in the cache it works instantly, which is what I need to achieve. I've tried using this http://flesler.blogspot.com/2008/01/jquerypreload.html plugin to preload the images with this $.preload('.ro'); code, but it seems to have no effect. Any ideas?

• Screen Brightness not adjustable for Acer Aspire S3

  First of all, thank you very much for providing this useful forum. Too bad for me, there is no support for the Acer Aspire S3 yet (just came out in October) Short Description of the Problem: I cannot adjust the screen brightness. Neither Compiz nor the FN Key combination work. Also the fan keeps running on full power. As you can guess, both of these drain my battery. • MS SQL: Mitigating schema changes/upgrades

  I haven't spent a ton of time researching this yet, mostly looking for best practices on upgrading/changing DB schemas. We're actively developing a new product and as such we often have additions or changes to our DB schema. We also have many copies of the DB -- one for the test environment, one for the prod environment, dev environments, you name it. We don't really want to have to blow away test data every time we want to make a change to the DB. s Are there good ways of automating this or handling this? None of us have really ever had to deal with this so...

• WiFi and Bluetooth will not work on Dell Studio XPS 1645

  Today I acquired a Dell XPS 1645. Ubuntu seems to run alright on it however The bluetooth is not detected and the WiFi doesn't work. The WiFi is especially weird because I actually have the restricted driver enabled for it. It also worked for a short while when I first booted into Ubuntu however now there isn't even an option to enable wireless. If anyone could possibly help me out with this I'd deeply appreciate it. I've not had to return to Windows for a good while and it's not something I want to have to do now.

• Remove Duplicate Second Unity Launcher on Dual Screen

  See attached image. On my dual screen display I have a Unity Launcher on the left hand screen and also on the right hand screen. Both work perfectly fine. I don't want two Unity Launchers. Every time I move my house to the right hand side it gets slowed down over the right launcher hampering my productivity. I have an Nvidia card with the Nvidia driver and I am using TwinView. Could somebody please tell me how to remove this extra duplicated launcher?

  Hello, I've been looking into custom event (listeners) for quite some time, but never succeeded in making one. There are so many different mehods, extending the Event class, but also Extending the EventDispatcher class, very confusing!
