• VPN Connects with local access only

  I have Windows Server 2008 and I have set up a VPN. When a user logs into their VPN they can not view the internet. It comes up as local access only on the the client PC. On the server when I go to the Network And Sharing Centre it displays (Network) with local and internet below it has the RAS Dial-in interface and it displays as local only there as well. I want all users that connect to my VPN to have internet access (full access). If anyone can help me it would be appreciated. Also I've activated dial-in properties and I've done it via policy who can access the VPN and internet. It still doesn't work, but there is a connection but just local only. Thanks

  Over the years, some of us accumulate lots and lots of music files. Since these come from a variety of sources, they’re not always as neat as they could be. If your music library is in a bit of a jumble with tags missing, oddly named files and incomplete albums, read on to see how easy it is to make it neat once and for all. MusicBrainz is an online database that uses audio “fingerprints” to identify music tracks even when they’re incorrectly labelled. We’ll be using this database through a free client called Picard, available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. So first thing, head on over to Picard’s download page and get the installer. If you use Linux, you can install Picard using your package manager. Once you finish going through the installer, run Picard. Your firewall might pop up an alert telling you Picard is trying to access the Internet; you should agree to let Picard through. You will now see the main Picard interface.   R28 is a major release (as indicated by the careless omissions of "minor" and "revision" numbers. The formal name would be R28.0.0). Our customers expect grand new features and innovation from major releases, and "Ropsten" will not disappoint. One of the biggest challenges for IT systems is after the fact diagnostics. That is - Once something has gone wrong, the act of trying to figure out why it went wrong. Monitoring a system and keeping track of system health once it is running is considered a hard problem (one that we to some extent help our customers solve already with JRockit Mission Control), but doing it after something occurred is close to impossible. The most common solution is to set up heavy logging (and sacrificing system performance to do the logging) and hope that the problem occurs again. No one really thinks that this is a good solution, but it's the best there is. Until now. Inspired by the "Black box" in airplanes, JRockit R28 introduces the Flight Recorder. Flight Recorder can be seen as an extremely detailed log, but one that is always on and that comes without a cost to system performance. • Windows 8 - IE 10 Metro - How to print or save a webpage

  I'm running Windows 8 Pro. My default browser is Internet Explorer 10 (and hence opens as a Modern Windows 8 app). I want to know how to print or save a webpage. There are no related settings available in the browser. The only option is to select "View on Desktop" and the browser interface familiar to IE 9 opens up on the desktop, through which I could access the above said options and additional settings. I know the Desktop is not going away anytime soon and that its still an important part of Windows. But if Microsoft is pitching for the Modern Windows UI, why would they leave out important options such as print & save from it and force a user to access the "old" Desktop mode for the same? Even Windows 8 RT supports plug-and-play access to Printers & Peripherals. So not being able to Print from a tablet or access the File System is definitely not an answer.

• Windows server 2008 R2 IIS7 file permissions

  Hey all i am trying to figure out why i can not access a index.php file from within the wwwroot/mollify/backend directory. It keeps coming up with this: Server Error 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. I've given all the permissions (Full control) to the wwwroot directory i could think of (IUSR, Guest, GUESTS, IIS_IUSRS, Users, Administrators, NETWORK, NETWORK SERVICE, SYSTEM, CREATOR OWNER & Everyone). I also added index.php to the "Default Document" under my website settings in IIS 7 manager. What else am i missing? Thanks! David

Attempted Solutions As I understand from this article and this discussion, the proper way to remove the error message is to ignore it via setting the "das.ignoreRedundantNetWarning" propery to "true". I took the following steps: Logged into vCenter Right-clicked on my HA cluster and chose "Edit Settings..." Clicked "vSphere HA" section Clicked "Advanced Options..." Added the "das.ignoreRedundantNetWarning" option with a value of "true". Question How do I get this error to go away, and are there any reasons why adding this option may not have worked? • LDAP over SSL/TLS working for everything but login on Ubuntu

  I have gotten OpenLDAP with SSL working on a test box with a signed certificate. I can use an LDAP tool on a Windows box to view the LDAP over SSL (port 636). But when I run dpkg-reconfigure ldap-auth-config to setup my local login to use ldaps, my login under a username in the directory doesn't work. If I change the config to use just plain ldap (port 389) it works just fine (I can login under a username in the directory). When its setup for ldaps I get Auth.log shows: Sep 5 13:48:27 boromir sshd[13453]: pam_ldap: ldap_simple_bind Can't contact LDAP server Sep 5 13:48:27 boromir sshd[13453]: pam_ldap: reconnecting to LDAP server... • See all output from commands performed inside screen

  I am using screen (http://www.gnu.org/software/screen/manual/screen.html) to access my minecraft console. I created a server in /etc/init.d, and have minecraft running in the background. Then, to access the minecraft console, I just type # screen -r in bash. I can now do commands in the screen shell. The problem is if I do some command which exports a bunch of text, it exceeds the size of the screen and pushes the begging output off the page. And I cannot seem to scroll up and see it. How can I scroll back and view all the output? How can I pause the output (maybe something like more or less)?

• Linking Libraries in iOS?

  This is probably a totally noob question but I have missing links in my mind when thinking about linking libraries in iOS. I usually just add a new library that's been cross compiled and set the build and linker paths without really know what I'm doing. I'm hoping someone can help me fill in some gaps. Let's take the OpenCV library for instance. I have this totally working btw because of a really well written tutorial( http://niw.at/articles/2009/03/14/using-opencv-on-iphone/en ), but I'm just wanting to know what is exactly going on. What I'm thinking is happening is that when I build OpenCV for iOS is that your creating object code that gets placed in the .a files. This object code is just the implementation files( .m ) compiled. One reason you would want to do this is to make it hard to see the source code and so that you don't have to compile that source code every time. The .h files won't be put in the library ( .a ). You include the .h in your source files and these header files communicate with the object code library ( .a ) in some way. You also have to include the header files for your library in the Build Path and the Library itself in the Linker Path. So, is the way I view linking libraries correct? If , not can someone correct me on this ?

• How can I email a vCard to users who are unable to download it?

  I have created vCards for the people in my business, and they are great for users on standard browsers; however, users browsing on a mobile device (notably iPhone) are unable to download and view my vCard. Is there a service that I can direct them to that will allow them to receive an email containing my vCard, or is there a simple way I can set this up myself? I am running my site on WordPress, and initial attempts have failed spectacularly. I'd like for them to be given the option to perform either action, but have the predominant action more prominently visible (probably via user agent detection). Something along the lines of: It looks like you're on an iPhone! It's a bummer they can't download vCards, but if you enter your email address, we'll wrap one up and send it your way! Don't worry, we won't send you junk email. Heck, we don't even save your email address! [email protected] Think you've got it all figured out? Fine, download the vCard instead! If you know of a service or simple-to-implement PHP library (or WordPress plug-in), please let me know! If not, let me know what the best solution to this problem is!

• Looking for a software solution which acts like a hardware KVM

  I've seen programs like Synergy before which allow a keyboard and mouse to be used across multiple systems. Unfortunately Synergy treats both systems like they are the same thing (when you move the mouse too far to the right it jumps to the other computer, along with keyboard input). I only have 1 monitor so what I need to do here is have a quick way to view my other desktop that is easy to manage. Remote desktop is difficult because you have to take it out of fullscreen, then minimize it and then re-maximize it when you want to use it again. If there were a single button I could hit to switch to the other computer that would be optimal. Both computers are on the same lan.

• The KMPlayer ... playing with colors

  I'm not a video editing type, so go easy on me ... practically don't know anything on the subject except that for some videos I view, "color modifying" works (buttons n, j, r for reset ...) and for some it doesn't. What influences that and how can I incluence contrast, saturation and so on on every video I play? (mostly some recordings of experiments in poor light conditions, so those controls really come in handy when viewing some details before taking out snapshots for reports) Also, KMPlayer has an enormous number of options. Is there one somewhere that can take a snapshot in a predefined directory of the what-I-see-on-screen every xy number of seconds?

However, uploading iMovie files to YouTube can't be always a smooth run, I did notice many people complaining about it. This article is delivered for guiding those who are haunted by the nightmare by providing three common ways to upload iMovie files to YouTube. YouTube and iMovie YouTube is the most popular video sharing website for users to upload, share and view videos. It empowers anyone with an Internet connection the ability to upload video clips and share them with friends, family and the world. Users are invited to leave comments, pick favourites, send messages to each other and watch videos sorted into subjects and channels. YouTube accepts videos uploaded in most container formats, including WMV (Windows Media Video), 3GP (Cell Phones), AVI (Windows), MOV (Mac), MP4 (iPod/PSP), FLV (Adobe Flash), MKV (H.264). These include video codecs such as MP4, MPEG and WMV. iMovie is a common video editing software application comes with every Mac for users to edit their own home movies. You are also allowed to copy the URL from Tell a Friend window and paste it into an email you created in your favourite email application if you like. Anyone you send to email to will be able to follow the URL directly to your movie. Note: Videos uploaded to YouTube are limited to ten minutes in length and a file size of 2GB. Solution 3: Upload to iMovie after conversion If neither of the above mentioned method works, there is still a third way to turn to. • cannot move file: "file cannot be found" (Windows XP)

  I have some CR2 files in a subfolder of My Documents called My Photos on a Windows XP PC. I want to move them across a WIFI network to an external HDD attached to a Windows 7 PC. I have read/write permissions on the external HDD, as I mapped to this HDD using the Windows 7 user account. When I try to move a single CR2 file, I receive "Cannot copy IMG_3317: Cannot find the specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path and file name." If I refresh the source folder, the file is still there. It is not read only, and I have read/write access to the source file. I can view its properties. Why can't I move this file? I have been able to move similar files in the past.

  April 2010 Welcome to Issue 55 of DNN Creative Magazine In this issue we focus on the new Skin Object token method introduced in DotNetNuke 5 for adding tokens into a DotNetNuke skin. A Skin Object Token is a web user control which covers skin elements such as the logo, menu, search, login links, date, copyright, languages, links, banners, privacy, terms of use, etc. Following this we demonstrate how to install and use two Advanced DotNetNuke Admin Control Panels which are available for free from Oliver Hine. These control panels provide an optimized version of the admin control panel to improve performance and page load times, as well as a ribbon bar control panel which adds additional features. Next, we continue the Open Web Studio tutorials, this month we demonstrate some very advanced techniques for building a car parts application in Open Web Studio. Throughout the tutorial we cover form input, validation, how to use dependant drop down lists, populating checkbox lists and introduce a new concept of data level security.
