  hi im doing a loop so i could get dict of data, but since its a dict it's sorting alphabetical and not as i push it trought the loop ... is it possible to somehow turn off alphabetical sorting? here is how do i do that data = {} for item in container: data[item] = {} ... for key, val in item_container.iteritems(): ... data[item][key] = val whitch give me something like this data = { A : { K1 : V1, K2 : V2, K3 : V3 }, B : { K1 : V1, K2 : V2, K3 : V3 }, C : { K1 : V1, K2 : V2, K3 : V3 } } and i want it to be as i was going throught the loop, e.g. data = { B : {K2 : V2, K3 : V3, K1 : V1}, A : {K1 : V1, K2 : V2, K3 : V3}, C : {K3 : V3, K1 : V1, K2 : V2} }

• Java NIO SocketChannel writing problem

  I am using Java NIO's SocketChannel to write : int n = socketChannel.write(byteBuffer); Most of the times the data is sent in one or two parts; i.e. if the data could not be sent in one attemmpt, remaining data is retried. The issue here is, sometimes, the data is not being sent completely in one attempt, rest of the data when tried to send multiple times, it occurs that even after trying several times, not a single character is being written to channel, finally after some time the remaning data is sent. What could be the cause of such behaviour? Could external factors such as RAM, etc cause the hindarance? Please help me solve this issue. If any other information is required please let me know. • Init modules in apache2

  Hello, I used to write apache modules in apache 1.3, but these days I am willing to pass to apache2. The module that I am writing at the moment has is own binary data, not a database, for performance purposes. I need to load this data in shared memory, so every child can access it without making his own copy, and it would be practical to load/create the binary data at startup, as I was used to do with apache 1.3. Problem is that I don't find an init event in apache2, in 1.3 in the module struct, immediatly after STANDARD_MODULE_STUFF you find a place for a /** module initializer */, in which you can put a function that will be executed early. Body of the function I used to write is something like: if ( getppid == 1 ) { // Load global data here // this is the parent process void* data = loadGlobalData( someFilePath ); setGlobalData( config, data ); } else { // this is the init of a child process // do nothing } I am looking for a place in apache2 in where I can put a similar function. Once all approvals are completed the data shall be permanantly persisted into the actual table. Example: 1) Consider an entity called "User". One way to create the user is through the "Create Account Process". 2) The "Create Account Process" shall capture all the information of the User and store it in a temporary table in the database. 3) The data shall be used by the "Account Approval Process" to run its verification process. 4. After all the verification is completed successfully, the User data shall be persisted to the actual table. Question: Where to store the user data entered during "Create Account Process". Additionally, User data should be editable till the verification process is complete.

• JPA optimistic lock - setting @Version to entity class cause query to include VERSION as column

  I'm using JPA Toplink Essential, Netbean6.8, GlassFish v3 In my Entity class I added @Version annotation to enable optimistic locking at transaction commit however after I added the annotation, my query started including VERSION as column thus throwing SQL exception. None of this is mentioned in any tutorial I've seen so far. What could be wrong? • spring web application context is not loaded from jar file in WEB-INF/lib when running tomcat in eclipse

  I am experimenting with spring, maven, and eclipse but stumbling on a weird issue. I am running Eclipse Helios SR1 with the STS (Spring tools suite) plugin which includes the Maven plugin also. What i want to achieve is a spring mvc webapp which uses an application context loaded from a local application context xml file, but also from other application contexts in jar files dependencies included in WEB-INF/lib. What i'd ultimately like to do is have my persistence layer separated in its own jar file but containing its own spring context files with persistence specific configuration (e.g a jpa entityManagerFactory for example). So to experiment with loading resources from jar dependencies, i created a simple maven project from eclipse, which defines an applicationContext.xml file in src/main/resources Inside, i define a bean <bean id="mybean" class="org.test.MyClass" /> and create the class in the org.test package I run mvn-install from eclipse, which generates me a jar file containing my class and the applicationContext.xml file: testproj.jar |_META-INF |_org |_test |_MyClass.class |_applicationContext.xml I then create a spring mvc project from the Spring template projects provided by STS. I have configured an instance of Tomcat 7.0.8 , and also an instance of springSource tc Server within eclipse. Deploying the newly created project on both servers works without problem. I then add my previous project as a maven dependency of the mvc project. the jar file is correctly added in the Maven Dependencies of the project. In the web.xml that is generated, i now want to load the applicationContext.xml from the jar file as well as the existing one generated for the project. • Looking for some thoughts on an image printing app

  Hey All, Im looking for thoughts/advice. I have an upcoming project (all .net) that will require the following: pulls data once a day from an online service provider based on certain criteria. saves data locally for reference and reporting the data thats pulled will be used to create gift cards. So after the data is loaded, a process will run to generate "virtual cards" and send them to a network printer. Once printed, the system will updated the local data recording a successful or failed print. My initial thought was to create a windows service to pull the data...but then I couldnt decide how I was going to put a "virtual card" together and get it to print. Then I considered doing it as a WPF app. I figure that will give me access to the graphics and printing ability. Maybe neither of these are the right direction....Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Alex

The problem is, some of my data contains commas, and therefore is split by the autocomplete helper. Heres my code. Controller: public ActionResult GetData() { var data = repository.GetData(); return Json(data); } View (script): $.post("../MyController/GetData", function(data) { var evalData = eval(data) + ""; //formats the text $("#Data").autocomplete(evalData.split(","), { max: 500, matchContains: true }); }); As you can see, I am using the jquery .split helper to split the returned Json. Should I be using regex or should I go with a completely different approach?

  I have a main page that has multiple user controls on it. All the user controls have static text and some data to be retrieved from the DB. The aysnchronous DB call is clubbed at the page level and one call is made to avoid multiple calls (in the different user controls) to get the same data. I want the page and user controls to load initially with the static text and later refresh the contents obtained from the server. To sum it all up, Page Loads = Asyn calls fired on page load = Data received back from the server (XML/text/whatever) = User controls to load with this data using AJAX. What methods do I have to let the user controls know that I have the data from the server and they need to update with this data?

• Toubleshooting mapkit performance

  I'm plotting over 500 points on a map using mapkit. Zooming is a little jittery compared to the native google map app. I've discovered what is causing the slowness. I'm adding custom annotations so that I can later add different pin colors and buttons for detail views: - (MKAnnotationView *) mapView:(MKMapView *)mapView viewForAnnotation:(AddressNote *) annotation { MKPinAnnotationView *annView=[[MKPinAnnotationView alloc] initWithAnnotation:annotation reuseIdentifier:@"currentlocation"]; annView.pinColor = MKPinAnnotationColorGreen; annView.animatesDrop=TRUE; annView.canShowCallout = YES; annView.calloutOffset = CGPointMake(-5, 5); return annView; } If I comment out the above code, everything works fine. Very smooth with zooming in/out. Should I be adding annotations differently to boost performance?

  Hi EveryOne Beginner in Flex ...Even worse with item renderers... Have managed to add a Combobox to a datagrid using a itemEditor... I want to change the options in a combo box depending on the value selected by the user on a previous combo.. In the combo box i want to display a certain value (Model Name ) but for quering a table i'll pass the corresponding code of the model :(... sounds simple enough ..unfortunately not able to implement it I have found this problem on this site but the solution seems an overkill for my "small" problem..was hoping if anyone could guide me towards a more simpler solution...   I am able to auto-generate a SQL Server CE 4.0 *.sdf file using code-first generation as explained by Scott Guthrie here. The connection string for the same is as follows: <add name="NerdDinners" providerName="System.Data.SqlServerCe.4.0" connectionString="data source=|DataDirectory|NerdDinner.sdf"/> However if I try to generate an mdf instead using the following connection string, it fails to do so with the following error - "The provider did not return a ProviderManifestToken string.". <add name="NerdDinners" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" connectionString="data source=|DataDirectory|NerdDinner.mdf"/> Even directly hooking into a SQLEXPRESS instance using the following connection string fails <add name="NerdDinners" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=NerdDinner;Integrated Security=True"/> Does EF 4 only support SQL CE 4.0 for database creation from a model for now or am I doing something wrong here?

• Flex - Tab View Multiple DataGrids and same dataProvider

  I have a flex application in which I have a TabNavigator with multiple tabs and a datagrid in each of those tabs. I have bound s single array of data to each grid. What I want to do is to bind each grid with a particular set of data in that array i.e. to distribute array contents among grids based on data type. For example items starting with letter A could be displayed in first grid, B in second, starting with C in third and so on. Hence you can say alphabetically distribute the data on different grids. The problem is that the data will be added randomly by the user. To make one data array for each grid is not an option (due to design restrictions). Any suggestions please? Thanks in advance

  Hi Ok dealing with Partial Loops I want to do several things Perhaps pass in extra variables - seen it done like this echo $this-partialLoop('Loop.phtml', array('data' = $data, 'var1' = foo)); But this does not seem to work - I can not extra the data using $this-var $this-data-var or $data-var not sure how to access the data in the loop Sutotals for columns - need a way of resetting variables or passing in a default value - linked to the above I suppose ie $subtotal += rowTotal; In the view that calls the partial I would like to get access to the subtotal values generated so I can display these in another table below. Any help appreciated the docs on partialLoop seems incomplete. Ian

• Handling newline character in input between Windows and Linux

  I think this is a standard problem which may have been asked before but I could not get the exact answer so posting the issue. The issue is that our server is running on a linux box. We access the server over the browser on a window box to enter data into field which is supposed to contain multiple lines which user can enter by pressing the enter key after each line Abc Def GHI When this input field (this is a text area),is read on the linux machine, we want to split the data based on new line character. I had three question on this. Does the incoming data contain "\r\n" or "\n" If incoming data does contain "\r\n", the linux line.separator property (vm property) would not work for me as it would say "\n" and therefore may leave "\r" in the data. If "\r" is left in the data, if I open the file on a windows machine, will this mean a newline character? Finally can anyone tell me the standard way to deal with this issue?
